Everything I ever learned about fairy-tales was a fucking lie…

Four years ago, my life was everything I wanted it to be: I had everything I wanted, everything I needed, in my best friend and newly wedded husband—Tyler.

Yet, hours after we said "I do," I lost him.

Forever...

The dreams we'd shared, the future we'd planned—all of our hopes and desires, were ripped away in mere seconds.

And now, four years later, my life still feels like a hopeless eternity.

So, I guess it's quite fitting that the last person I want to hear from is currently standing at my front door.

He wants to tell me the truth about that night, he wants to be my new knight in shining armor, but the thing is…

He was the best man...

*NOTE* Review may contain MINOR spoilers. I am trying to be as vague as possible, but it's hard to explain my thoughts without discussing the book. -- If you don't want any information, then I'd say I thoroughly enjoyed the book and you should read it. Now stop reading my review.

If you're okay with mild spoilers......

On to my review:

So, the beginning of the book is hard to read. Not in the sense that it's boring, but if you read the review, you KNOW that Everly's life is about about to come crashing down and her sweet husband is going to die. However, I can say that even though it's a sad moment, it's not detailed and I didn't cry for 4 hours over it. Some people may feel that the lack of details, as far as her finding out of his death, are a bad thing. Personally, I like to avoid crying, so I was okay with it not being extra sad.

The first thing I thought while reading the first chapter and seeing how amazing and sweet Tyler (her husband) was is: How in the world is another guy going to come in and make me love him more than Tyler? -- I'm typically a fan of the first guy in the books dealing with more than one H, so I was a bit nervous...

Ok, I'm rambling. Let me continue:

So, Tyler has passed on and 4 years goes by. Everly is miserable. Luca is Tyler's best friend and after his death, Luca leaves town. When he returns (4 years later), Everly is NOT happy about it. Quite frankly, she is a royal B*%C# to him. She blames him for Tyler's death and treats him beyond awful. Now, I get that she lost her husband and she's devastated, but I REALLY wanted to smack her sometimes. She is completely awful to Luca and it was a little hard for me to like her during all of this. If you feel like you just want to give up on this book because you can't stand her, keep reading. She will redeem herself and you'll start to like her again.

Of course, they end up running into each other several times and the hatefulness starts to disappear as some secrets come out. You know what happens next...they develop feeling for each other and now they have to deal with those feelings. -- Of course, my fear of not loving H #2 was completely unnecessary because Luca was perfect and you loved him without having to let go of the love for Taylor. That is the first time I've been able to love both H's.

I started this book at 11 pm and finished around 3 am. I couldn't go to sleep until I finished. There was enough angst and drama to keep you reading, but as with other books by this author, it's not to the point of ridiculousness. There were some minor grammatical errors, so if you are a stickler for perfection, well then you'll complain about it so this book probably isn't for you. *I*, personally don't care too much about the grammar. I can read it and understand what it says, even with those minor errors, and until I can't, I won't be a grammar Nazi. --- I know, I'm rambling again...sorry. -- Ok, so there is a bit of racy sexual scenes. Again, if you can't handle those, this isn't the book for you. All in all, I was very happy with this book. I enjoyed the plot and though it took me a while to warm up to Everly, I loved the characters. I gave it 4 stars, but I would say it is probably a 4.5 star book (those just don't exist). I hope that Morgan (Everly's best friend) gets her own book because she was such an amazing friend and I'd love to see her get a HEA as well. I will definitely read more books by this author and highly recommend this one.

5 BREATHTAKING STARS

**NOTE I typically avoid any and all spoilers however you will find a few in this review. Unspeakable Truths is a multi faceted story that is nearly impossible to fully review without giving away some spoilers. SO if you want to read the book blindly I suggest stopping now.**

Unspeakable Truths is one of those books that you will find yourself wondering “did I just read that right” over and over again. So lets just dig right in to the nitty gritty. The Prologue… is amazing and at first I felt like “am I reading a Prologue or an Epilogue?” THEN you get to Chapter 1 and you find out that the fairytale has been ripped right out of their hands.

Every Phillips appeared to have the world at her fingertips. She recently finished college, just completed construction on her custom built home and married the man of her dreams. Only thing left was to live out her happy ever after…

In everyone’s life there are moments in time, events that define you, instances that affect you in such a way that they alter the way that you think, the way that you choose to live your life. For me losing Tyler is the thing that defines me because when he died he left a gaping hole in my heart so large that nothing could ever fill it.

Luca Jensen was Tyler’s best friend. He was the best man in Tyler and Everly’s wedding and with Tyler the night of the accident.

“I don’t need you to hate me Embry, I already hate myself. Don’t think for one minute, for one fucking minute that I don’t blame myself, that I don’t live with that every single day of my life. You think I don’t know that I pulled him away from life? You think I don’t know that he’s dead because of me? I fucking know!”

Their worlds were ripped apart. Luca relocated and Everly nearly became a recluse. This lasted for nearly four years.

Perhaps the misery and loneliness I feel here is my way of punishing myself for living.

In a chance meeting Luca and Everly reunited. Although this meeting was anything but happy. Not only did Everly believe Luca was responsible for Tyler’s death BUT she also believed Luca had always hated her. She was wrong… really really wrong, on so many levels!!!

“I think we both need the closure, I know I do and there are things that you just don’t understand.”
My voice drips with disdain. “You’re not looking for closure, you’re looking for forgiveness.” “Fuck forgiveness! I don’t need your forgiveness or anyone else’s for that matter. What I need is for you to understand, for you to see that I would never do anything to hurt Tyler.”

And so it begins. The fireworks, the thrill of the ride and the oh so sweet build!!! Walls crumble, secrets are unveiled. Two people struggle with attraction and with what some may consider a forbidden romance.

Unspeakable Truths is an amazing story filled with heartache, sarcasm and really really hot sex. In some ways it is a second chance at live for this couple. Don’t we all want to believe that when life has dealt us a shitty hand, maybe just maybe there can be light at the end of the tunnel. I highly recommend you grab this book TODAY!!!

Words cannot describe my love for Unspeakable Truths!!

I stumbled upon it and let me tell you, I regret nothing. I loved every single second, every page, every word, every tear, every moan and groan, every kiss and fits of anger...I loved it all!!

Everly...I wanted to squeeze her, hug her, smack, shake her and hug her again. You feel every raw emotion she experiences. You literally strap on your seatbelt and take a ride on the rollercoaster with her.

The girl who had it all and had it taken away from her almost immediately just didn't want to move forward with her life. She held on to her depression, her anger, her loneliness four years after the tragic death of her husband of just a few hours.

For years, Everly blamed Luca. Luca, her husband's best friend, was the one to lure him to his untimely death...or was he?

 photo unspeakable-truths-teaser-1.jpg

Luca was chased out of town because everyone blamed him for something he had no part in. If anything, he was trying to help his best friend, but how could you help someone who didn't want to be helped?

Luca is back in town and makes it his mission to get forgiveness, tell the truth and win the girl who was supposed to be his back to his life. He wanted to bring HER back to life - whatever means necessary.

 photo 11164804.jpg

You definitely do not want to pass this one by. It's a feel good, good cry kind of story and I am still smiling of Everly and Luca finally getting their freedom to live, laugh, and most importantly - love.

** review for BareNakedWords **

There is no denying the love I have for Alice Tribue's books. I have from the start and this one is no different. I absolutely fell in love with 'Unspeakable Truths' before I even got started. The synopsis does a brilliant job at dragging you in and itching for you to read.

This is a story filled with such raw emotion, that will have you reaching for the tissues. You feel every bit of grief, love, torment and anger the characters feel and you just want them to finally be happy and at peace.

Everly was just starting out her life in blissful happiness. She had it all. She had just married her true love; her best friend. Until one knock on the door, hours after her wedding ripped everything away from her.

Or so she's led to believe.

Now, four years later Everly is still living in the past. She's held on to her anger, her grief and her loneliness. Isolating herself from everyone and living in her own little bubble of depression.

"For for years I've let my grief control everything. I've let it suffocate me and snuff the light right out of my life and the thing is...I'm ok with that. I have no desire to forget, to forge ahead and move on without my husband."

For those four year, Everly blamed Luca for her husband's tragic death. And she hates him for it now more than ever.

"He's the living breathing reason why my husband is dead, why I'm a widow at only twenty-six years old. The best man at our wedding who ended up being the catalyst for tragedy."

Since his Best friend, Tyler's death Luca has allowed people to believe he had played a part in it. He was chased out of town because of it. But now he's back, and he is not going to sit around quietly for too long.

He's on a mission. To tell the truth of what really happened and to earn the forgiveness of the one girl who has held his heart since college.

"She needs to hear from me what very few people know, what those people have chosen to keep from her even now when the dust has settled. They allow her to live in her inner turmoil, and they allow her to walk in a clouded world where all she sees are glimpses of truth hidden behind a fucking mountain of lies."

He's determined to bring her back to life, and maybe finally get Ev back in his life for good.

"But the time of thinking about what could have been is over. Now Tyler's gone, he's gone, and I hate it. I miss him, but Everly's alone and I'm done. I'm done burying what I feel, I'm done denying myself what I want, what I've always wanted. So I'm going to do whatever it takes to bring Everly back to herself and make her see me as something other than her dead husband's best friend."

'Unspeakable Truths' is a story of grief, forgiveness and second chance love. It's beautiful and filled with such emotion.
I loved it and I am still smiling that after all the years of loneliness and sadness Everly and Luca finally have a chance to live, laugh, be free and more importantly Love each other.

It makes you realise that everything you had can be gone in a blink of an eye.

Live life to the fullest. Fill it with people you love, and that will hold you up, as you never know when it can all disappear.

You do not want to pass this book up. It truly is a remarkable read and you will fall in love with both Luca and Everly.

Thank you Alice, for again bringing us such a magnificent and inspiring story.

DNF at 29%.

I just couldn't stand the heroine anymore.

I have a shelf here, on goodreads that says asshole hero. It's for those books where the main male character is acting like a disgusting, selfish, obnoxious and conceited prick at the beginning of the story. This book though? She's the one being all that. I get it. Life kicked her in the the teeth, but bitch, please!

Simply put, I ditched the book all because of Everly.

5 and yes I am SCREAMING out loud....5 Heartbreakingly Beautiful Stars!!!!!!!!

OK, I just finished this amazing book and what I really wish I could do right now is SCREAM out how absolutely beautiful this book was. 5 Stars does not do this justice. The prologue of this book to start with is one of the most beautiful, sensual starts to a story that I can recall reading..... I mean fall down swoon worthy start to this story and then yes, you guessed it BOOM.... A huge dark cloud comes over this couple.. Everly, now let me start off saying I truly felt a strong dislike for her the first portion of this book, yes I know one may say wow how could you dislike someone who has been through such a tragic event, well guess what I did, lol. I was torn because I sort of understood her but she was just way over the top (my thoughts only) and her attitude just made me lose sympathy for her and basically turn my feelings to extreme dislike for her but then yes, as the story unfolded and the rays of light started to peak through until finally the sun burst out completely, then yes, I fell in love with her too:) Now, Luca, oh Luca, OMG what to say I LOVED this guy from start to middle to finish, he was utter PERFECTION for me. Seriously, like my top book boyfriend of all time and boy this guy...hmmmm, not enough words except PERFECTION at it's finest can truly describe him well besides sexy as sin, romantic and just oh so bursting with love for his girl:) This story was written brilliantly, and it flowed seamlessly from beginning until the very end. I felt every emotion throughout this book, oh and the sex scenes, wowza, off the charts scorching!!!!!! Now I have read my share of great 5 Star books and then there are 5 Star books for me that deserve to be in a special class all on their own and this book here deserves to be a part of my "elite" 5 Star reads. I mean it's just fanfreakingtastic and it's a MUST READ! Congrats to Alice Montalvo-Tribue for a literary masterpiece!!!! I can't truly express enough how much this book touched me and how absolutely fantastic this story was and not to mention how perfectly it was written. Heartbreakingly beautiful and yet, sweet, romantic and oh so full of delicious sex:) It had everything one could imagine and also that one could hope for in a story. Congrats again on a Grand Slam!

Your wedding day is supposed to be the most happiest, the most memorable day of your life, it's the day you look back on the most. But for Everly, it's the most heartbreaking and the most tragic & devastating day because the man she loved, her best friend died a few hours after.

In everyone’s life there are moments in time, events that define you, instances that affect you in such a way that they alter the way that you think, the way that you choose to live your life. For me losing Tyler is the thing that defines me because when he died he left a gaping hole in my heart so large that nothing could ever fill it.

This was a story that just tugged at your heartstrings, made you so emotional that you cried. I enjoyed it but I didn't love it as much as I wanted too. And the main reason for giving it 3.50 stars was the missing connection I had felt with the characters.

I was just needing a little more from the story that I got out of it. But it was written beautifully and it was also my first book I've read by Alice Tribue and not my last by the way.

Can I say how broken I was just by reading this novel. It was something different, something fresh not normally the new adult novel that you read these days and it was good.

And Luca can I say he was just added to my book boyfriends list. God he was drop dead gorgeous that man had total sex appeal.

**My thanks to the author for providing me with a free copy for an honest review**

WOW, just WOW. This book really grips you from the first page and takes you on a really emotional journey with Everly and what she has, and is still going through four years after her husbands (Tylers) death.

The prologue starts at their wedding and finishes the next day before he dies. You see how they are both totally in love with the other, with how Everly wants her forever with the man who seems so sweet and perfect.

Chapter one starts four years later with the mess that is still Everly. She has pushed as many people as she can away. She's lonely, still grieving all these years later and unable to get out the blackhole that she still finds herself in.

However it is when her husbands best friend (Luca) comes back home after these four years that her world get completely and totally turned around. Things she thought to be true are turned around, and suddenly Tyler is not the man that he seemed and Luca is the man that forces her out of her secluded little world and brings her back out of her protective shell.

Of course true love never runs smooth and there is a hurdle or too for them to climb over and Everly looses her way. But friends are there to help her, and Luca through it all is lovely, never making her feel bad for still loving Tyler. Her accepts everything except her cowardice and helps her through moving on...with him.

I certainly needed tissues for the first few chapters and am really glad that I got a chance to read and review this book.

This is just another woe is me pathetic heroine

When will writers stop using death of a loved one as an excuse for a character to go off the rails into crazy land. This chick is just so broken up that she's a shut-in bitch. I couldn't stand her. I thought she was the weakest, stupidest, pathetic excuse for a grown-ass woman I've read in a very long time. I'm a 48-year-old widow after 22 years of marriage that was left with an 8 year old. Guess what, I'm still alive and sane. I just couldn't understand, connect, or feel sorry for this chick.....disgusted was closer to what I was feeling. And folks that's just sad. When you have nothing but bad feelings for one of the main characters, that's a very bad thing considering this is a romance. And then to find out what her husband did.....it would have taken me about 1 damn second to toss his crap, sell the house, and kiss that sweet little love right out the damn window, but no, she has to draw out the grieving widow BS for just a little longer. And I wouldn't have let the father-in-law off without hitting him in the face....with a hammer. But no, she just rolls over and plays dead and stupid. I don'thave any love for pathetic characters anymore. Stupid heartbreak plots are just being rehashed and instead of making characters more human, these plots lines are really just making humankind seem really sad. For the hot minute this character was shown to have a backbone wasn't enough to redeem her pure pathetic self.

Tissues are needed ladies, boy aren't they needed. So Luca he's an alpha man right? Right, and well the boy is trying to help Everly move on both for her and for him because he's sweet on her, sometimes he has to use bluntess to make her see things, "who. The. Eff. Cares. He's gone Everly, gone, never coming the eff back. Do you really think that moving on with your life makes you a bad person?" Then there's this sweet side of him that comes out when Everly is around, "babe, in case you missed it I'm very glad you showed up here last night." Some of his reasoning for things could be selfish, "I was too busy effing you babe, plus you look cute all jealous and pi**ed at me." Luca is a proud man and he wants everyone to know who his girl is but the first stop is his parents, "they need to know about Everly because as far as I'm concerned she's permanent. I'm not letting her go, they need to understand and accept that. "I'll call mom and tell her myself but I'm tell you now, it's Everly West." There was one scene I was so giddy about and that was with Everly, Luca and his parents and how the boy got all caveman, "I want to bang on my chest and drag her out of here caveman style. I know she's anxious to make a good impression on my mom, but she also hasn't hesitated to stick up for us." Besides me running out of tissues I loved this book. I loved Luca I decided I want a man like him, one who won't give up on me, on us.

There's no doubt that the circumstances that lead to where Everly is four years after her wedding were tragic and heartbreaking. And given the information she has about those events, it's only natural for her to feel toward Luca the way she does as the story begins.

I loved Luca's character. He is selfless, caring, loyal...and also tremendously alpha with a small side of kink (let the swooning commence...). My heart went out to him with how Everly treated him once he came back to town. Everly on the other hand--I just had a really hard time warming up to her, and found too many flaws in her character to make me feel like she should wind up with someone so amazing as Luca. I found her to be weak, allowing her insecurities too much control and not stepping up for herself and Luca as well to a certain other character. Yes, Luca helped her a LOT. But even so, she still let other factors influence her and made me feel disappointed in her overall.

I was happy with the story until about 70% in, then Everly ticked me off with her decision and actions. Thank goodness for Luca...he's the only thing that saved it for me, and again--he's the one who makes the whole story for me.

This was a 3.5 star read for me, and those other 1.5 stars? Well, that's all on Everly. So thank you Luca, you are the shining star here. This is for 18+ due to adult language and sexual content (some really hot, really juicy content!).

Oh my oh my. Believe when you will read this book you will need tissues! It was very emotional book.
After prologue I was like ok, everything is good. So it will tell us how they met. Apparently I was wrong. Boy, I was so wrong!
In this book we have one woman and two men (it’s not a love triangle). Both are friends and both wanted the same woman.

***THE BEGINNING OF SPOILERS***

In the beginning we will meet the sweetest guy Tyler and bad boy Luca until we will hear what a selfish and liar Tyler is.
Everly is very unhappy woman. The morning after her weddings her husband died. It crashed her. Four years only her body was alive, but her heart and soul wasn’t. She was like wounded animal. But then into her life came Luca. The man she accused for her husband death because her life for longer than four years was a lie.
When she met Luca she was like “no way buddy! I don’t want to see you! go to hell!” but thank god for Luca’s stubbornness! He didn’t give up. He wanted to help Everly to came back to life. To feel again.

***THE END OF SPOILERS***

This story has everything; drama, tears, hot sex, sacrifice and amazing friendship (Everly and her best friend Morgan).
I read this story per one day. I couldn’t put it down. So if you want to have a good cry and read about hot alpha male handling stubborn woman this book is for you!

So many thoughts come to mind after reading this book. Just when you thought a happily ever after was about to start one tragic event takes it all away. To make the situation even worse…what if the love of your life; your Husband, had secrets of his own that you least expect it? What if everything you have been grieving for is so much more than you expected? This was Everly’s story.

This story took me on a whirlwind of many WTF moments. Just when I thought I have heard everything and figured out more to the story another surprise gets thrown in the loop. A 4 star read that can leave you questioning any kind of relationship that you may be in.

Told in 1st person POV of the h with a page every once in a while from H POV.

h was damn annoying and weak. Biggest pity party since Great Expectations.

Also, while the writing wasn't as eye-raping as a Jordan Silver, it needed copy editing.

I'm usually not a fan of reading books where husbands die. Being a young widow myself I know what is like. This book though I didn't feel gutted by Tylers loss might be because of all lies or unspoken truths... the pain and loneliness you feel when losing your significant other is described and felt with Everly. This author hands down did a fabulous job with this book. Luca is heaven sent and fit with Everly perfectly. The chemistry and background with them just made the story even better. What a great book.

I received this book for free via the author in exchange for an honest review. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review.

Everly Philips and Tyler West just got married. They had a lovely wedding, their dream life is expecting, Tyler will go to a prestigious Law School in order to pursuit his way as a successful lawyer and take the reins of his father's firm. Everly is going to study Law too, but she doesn't feel a real passion about that. They met in their freshman year at the college and have been inseparable since then, Tyler is apparently the perfect boyfriend: honest, faithful, kind, attentive, lovely, etc.

When they're going to go in their honeymoon, Tyler needs helping to his best friend, it's a quickly thing but he never will come back. In least of 24 hours, Everly becomes in a widow. For years later, she is secluded in her dreamed house, living in the shadows of a life she won't have.

Luca Jensen was Tyler's best friend, he met Everly before Tyler and told him about her, but he didn't a move on her and the rest is history, Tyler made his way and got the girl. Luca took a step back of Everly because he always felt like the second best man. Later she blame him of his husband's murder and he took it, he moved and spent four years away from his family but now he's back and doesn't want take a step aside anymore.

Will they have a second chance for their love?

Meu Deus I don't know how start this review. I should write it in Spanish because it's easier for me, but I'll try.

Unspeakable Truths by Alice Montalvo-Tribue
When Mrs Tribue contacted me for read and review this title I had already an eye on it because I took part of the first cover reveal and was attracted by its summary. So of course I jumped to the chance.

Since I started to read Unspeakable Truths I was captivated for the sad story of Everly, her sorrow, loneliness, the destructive way she takes after her lost and the writing style of the author. Sometimes the feelings were so intense I had to put my kindle away and go to my happy place, but no matter what my thought always came back to UT.

Perhaps the misery and loneliness I feel here is my way of punishing myself for living.

Both characters were beautifully written. Everly's evolution is slowly but real. She doesn't know how start her life again, how to deal with the secrets she discovers. How could she being angry with her husband if he's dead? She needs understand his reasons, accept them and forgive him all by herself, but it won't be easy.

Unspeakable Truths by Alice Montalvo-Tribue

Luca is such an amazing character, he has many layers, he's a great friend with Tyler and Everly, a good son, impressive lawyer, a twisted, steamy love, I love when he's strong with Ev, when he challenges her, but he also supports her in all sense.
“Good, I’m going to fuck the shit out of you. I’m not going to be gentle, I’m not going to slow, and if you’re lucky I’ll let you come. Then and only then will we talk about what happens next. Say okay Luca.”

The story is pretty intense, always keeps the reader immersed in the events, mysteries, heartbreaking moments, threats, recovering paths. I didn't want the story ended, I mean it.
In everyone’s life there are moments in time, events that define you, instances that effect you in such a way that they alter the way you think, the way you choose to live your life.

Book hangover alert? Check (I started this book at 2;00 am and didn't sleep until I finished, also I can't help think in the story afterwards)

Bottom line? My rate is 7 emotional stars because this book is

Heart-wrenching, thoroughly intense that's the way I can describe Unspeakable Truths by Alice Montalvo-Tribue.

So yes, Alice did it again, first was Shelter You I absolutely adored Mia's and Logan's story now Everly broke my heart and Luca took me to the moon many times. This baby is on my kindle and paperback wishlist and definitely is a Best Book 2014 Nominated.

I love it when I have an excellent reading streak! And by excellent I mean 5-star books that touch my heart and make me dream of happy ever afters.

UNSPEAKABLE TRUTHS is a very heartwarming story. I thought it would be gut-wrenchingly painful seeing as the heroine, Everly, is barely recovering from the death of her husband. It's been four years but she hasn't moved on at all from the painful event that destroyed her dreams and practically killed her drive and enthusiasm to live.

There is one man whom she blames for what went down four years ago: Luca. He was Tyler's best friend but for a reason you'd best find out on your own, he and Everly are not at all in good terms. He was often a cause of argument between the two of them. On the day Tyler died, it was Luca who was with him.

The story shifts from Everly's point of view to Luca's. As always, I love this style of narration because it lets readers see the story from all angles. It also lets readers know each character more intimately.

When it's Luca's POV, he seems to look at the broader picture. He really is a very thoughtful and considerate man! He looks at the past, the present, and the future consequences of his actions. He looks at Everly through very observant eyes that miss nothing. You can just tell that he really does care for her! His thoughts, though riddled with guilt and sadness, are nevertheless very positive and looking forward to a good future. That is his strength, and the one thing Everly seems to have lost.

"...but I can't help to think, what if...?"

For Everly's POV, I could sense her confusion and underlying sadness. She did fall in love with Tyler. Even when she discovered that he kept secrets from her, even if she felt anger towards him for that, she never went caustic towards his memory. Both she and Luca, actually. I also love how she really did appear more alive when Luca entered the picture! I could really relate to Everly, especially what she said about how nice it would be for people to invite her to hang out even if everyone knows she'll say no. :p Guilty party right here..! LOL but anyway… Thoughts like that just made her feel more real, and I loved that Alice Montalvo-Tribue for writing her, and also Luca, that way.

There's one thing I didn't expect which nevertheless made me giggle: Luca has dominant tendencies in bed! Nothing hardcore though. No whips and chains and whatnot. He's just very dominant in the bedroom through his words and actions, and honestly that's a lot sexier to me than whipping out the crop.

"Shut up," he growls in my ear, gripping my hips tighter and pulling me back into his chest hard. "Do not speak, you are done talking, do you understand me."

If you've grown tired of romance characters having a stupid spell, you'll be happier with this book. Save for one moment of weakness from Everly, they both behaved maturely 95% of the time. I was so pleased that Everly was able to get her head out the fog of grief quickly and chose to listen to what Luca had to say about her husband's death. I cheered when she chose to start living and allow herself to love again. I especially loved how she overcame her apprehension on being seen in public with Luca. She did ‘the stupid' though, but as the reader, I already sympathized with her so much it felt like I can forgive her for her for succumbing to her fear.

"Happily ever after doesn't exist. It's a myth, and if it does exist it's not for me, was never meant to be for me. I thought I had it once... but just like that, love slipped through my fingers. Now here I am again, with that old familiar pit of emptiness in my stomach..."

Everly's one moment of foolishness made Luca shine even more! He was just impressive from start to finish. HE is the type of hero whom readers will swoon for! He is a very good man, hardworking, successful, loving, nurturing, patient and forgiving. All that on top of his physical attributes, of course!

Thanks to a really great story, plus a vulnerable and very relatable heroine partnered with a very ideal, almost-perfect hero, UNSPEAKABLE TRUTHS emerges as a refreshingly lighter take on a second-chance love that comes at the heels of cherished lost love. I highly recommend it if you're looking for second-chance romance that doesn't veer into the dark and angsty territory.

UNSPEAKABLE TRUTHS delivers a little of everything—pain, romance, passion, despair—the whole gamut of emotions and the believability behind it to pack a solid punch.

Everly loses her husband way before his time and blames her husband’s best friend for his death. Luca takes the blame to protect his best friend and leaves town and everyone he loves. But four years later, he’s back and he’s not willing to let Everly continue to waste away in a sea of sadness and suffering. He knows he’s the last person she wants to see, but if no one else can get through to her, he’s determined he will. Everly is horrified to realize that once she stops hating Luca, she might actually like him.

I loved every second of Luca and Everly together. When Everly was with Tyler at the beginning of UNSPEAKABLE TRUTHS, even the way Everly described him and their love story felt somewhat superficial and face value; but with Luca it was raw and unbridled. The two saw each other at their worst and still couldn’t deny their growing feelings for each other. Luca was caring and romantic and sweet, but he was also no-nonsense and opinionated. He wouldn’t just let Everly walk all over him no matter how long he’d loved her. The story alternates perspectives between Everly and Luca, though Everly narrates the majority of the story. I could feel the darkness that weighed Everly down and though it was emotional to read, it didn’t bring me down or make me want to stop reading. The love scenes between Everly and Luca were daring, bold, and steamy. The only thing that kept me from giving UNSPEAKABLE TRUTHS the full 5 stars was that for me it dragged on just a touch in the middle, but then the end picked up the pace again.

UNSPEAKABLE TRUTHS was a 4.5 star read for me and yet another great story by Alice Montalvo-Tribue. I have thoroughly enjoyed everything I’ve read by her and love that her stories are all so different yet share an ability to combine sadness and romance for an altogether amazing story.

I received this book from the author for an honest review.

I ama huge Alice Tribue fan. I have loved every book she has written but I have to admit....this book blew me away. She really has stepped up her writing game with certain character known as Luca. I have to tell you that her character Victor WAS the perfect male.....nope, wrong, try again. Luca kicked Victor right outta my brain. I mean I was like "Who?" WhenVictor strolled into this book for a brief second. I was so in love with Luca that I didnt even acknowledge my old crush....Sorry Victor it was good while it lasted!!!

This book is a sad and awful idea of a story! LOL Every woman dreams of marrying her "special man" and Everly is just like every woman. She married her prince charming to only have him ripped away from her by a" random act of violence". She blames the violence on Luca, her husbands best friend. Luca gets outta town when everyone hates him for killing "the perfect husband"........well 4 years later Luca returns and runs into a cataonic Everly. She is stuck. She has not moved on. She is still in mourning. He tries to talk to her but she is so full of anger and resentment and she tells him where to go and what to do when he is there. Oh yeah did I mention that Luca is also working for the same company she is???? OH MAN!! AWKWARD!!!!!

I gotta love Morgan. She is Everly's bestie and voice of reason. She talks Everly off the ledge at times and gets her to admit that maybe her prince wasnt a prince after all????? ANNND Maybe Luca isnt the evil demon she thinks he is????? So Everly and Luca talk......and then Luca pushes her and pushes her and pushes her...man do I love that MAN!!! He has secrets of his very own....wanna know what they are? Then you gotta read it!!

Poor Everly has alot of people who will not be happy with her new found relationship in the novel. She has some haters who want her new hottie for themselves. She has an angry mother and father in law who expect her to mourn their son FOREVER!!!

My favorite scene was when Everly and her new hottie were caught in a compromising situation...snickers!! I was cracking up. Also a favorite scene of mine is when Everly was yelling at Alpha Luca and says 'Man I go now?' and he smiles and says " I am glad you asked for permission."

4.5 Stars!

Unspeakable Truths is an emotional story of second chances as well as a thoroughly moving exploration of the many facets of happily ever after. This story raises many questions about the true meaning of happily ever after. Just what does happily ever after mean, anyway? Does it have to be just one thing? Is there more than one type of happily ever after? If so, can someone experience happily ever after more than once, or in more than one way? How do we really know that we've found our happily ever after? Have I boggled your mind yet???

This book doesn't give us the answer to these questions. Rather, Montalvo-Tribue encourages us to ponder these questions for ourselves while experiencing Everly's journey along with her. In the end, each of us must come to our own conclusions about what happily ever after really means to us, and we'll very likely come to know ourselves and our heart's desires just a little bit better in the process!

To Everly, the leading lady in Unspeakable Truths, it often seemed that happily ever after was only an illusion...and at times, that may have been true. However, this story also gives us hope that if we keep on keeping on and don't give up hope, our happily ever after may be just around the corner. If we're lucky, all of the broken and illusory HEA's that we encounter along the way will only help us to truly understand and appreciate the beauty of our true happily ever after when we find it!

As Luca states in Unspeakable Truths, "...We had to see how...horrific life can be at times so that we would be able to appreciate what we finally found in each other..."

4 stars

Unspeakable Truths is a heartbreaking story about the ultimate lost and then finding out that what you thought was the truth, was nothing but a lie. It also is about incredible courage to keep going.

Everly was living the perfect dream. She was in love with Tyler. They had just gotten married. Everything was perfect... for a couple of hours. Then the unimaginable happens. Tyler is killed. What a heartbreaking loss. Only to be married for a few hours to the man she loved.

Everly has blamed Tyler's best man for 4 years for his death. Everly was told that Luca was the reason for Tyler's death. For 4 long years Everly has been in a deep depression and hardly functioning. Now 4 years later Luca is back after being gone. When he comes back, he shakes up Everly's world. He forces her to face the truth. Luca challenges her to see that she needs to go on living and possibly even fall in love again.

Luca was suppose to be the man she ended up with. The minute he saw her, he fell in love. Luca wasn't fast enough, cause Tyler got to her first. Luca has kept his feelings for Everly hidden, but now might be the perfect time. Luca can help Everly heal from her lost and make her see, he is the guy for her future.

I loved this story. It had a little of everything to keep my 100 percent invested the entire book. It was a page turner. I loved Luca. He had be swooning for page one. This was a great read. I am glad I got the chance to read this one.
