Phoenix Johnson has always been intrigued by the written word, and is rarely far from a book, whether it’s one she’s reading or writing. She has a particular fascination with paranormal and fantasy, where her imagination can run wild with dragons, magic, far off lands, and strong female characters.

She was first published through Naughty Nights Press, where she did well. Phoenix won the Best Paranormal Award through Easychair Bookstore in 2015, and, along with a few other authors, hit the USA Today bestseller’s list shortly before she had to take a step back for health reasons. Phoenix is now returning as an independent author, and is very excited to see what is in store for her this time around.

Phoenix lives west of Brisbane, Australia, with her husband, Michael, their daughters Jayde and Hela, cats Flash and Furgus, and a red cattle x, Rusty.
She wandered away from writing for a few years, but was soon encouraged to return and, within months of picking up the proverbial pen, Phoenix’ first story, The Wolf In The Neighborhood, was accepted for publication by Naughty Nights Press. While working on the rest of the Wolf Smitten Trilogy, Phoenix decided to take on a university degree, and is now in the final stretch of her Bachelor of Art’s degree in Professional Writing and Publishing, with plans to continue on to her Master’s degree.
In early 2015, Phoenix was thrilled to discover she’d made two Top 5 lists with three entries in the Easychair Bookstore Awards. In June, it was announced she had placed first in Best Paranormal with Once Bitten Twice Shy, the second installment in her Wolf Smitten Trilogy, while The Wolf In The Neighborhood and Wolf Smitten placed third in their respective categories of Best Paranormal and Best Series.
With her inclusion in the Alphas on the Prowl Box Set in 2015, Phoenix hit the top 100 bestsellers lists across numerous distributors, number 1 bestseller on several Amazon lists, and this was quickly followed by the announcement of her achievement of number 1 bestseller for her publisher, Naughty Nights Press, for the full second quarter of 2015. The awards and achievements have only served to strengthen her ambitions, and she is now aiming at reaching the bestseller lists for USA Today and New York Times.
Phoenix has been working hard to make 2015 her year, and has been busy organizing paranormal anthology Twisted Tales with seven other authors. Its release at the end of June is greatly anticipated, and she is extremely excited to see where her writing career takes her next.

There is nothing ordinary about this fast paced story of Vampires...other then they are...vampires. I found this quick read to be
refreshing. Ms. Johnson brought paranormal erotica to another level. She took the love scenes and made them hotter by bringing in a sensual aspect to the sex scenes. She also added new elements to the vampire realm that made her story unique. I look forward to reading more from this author in the future. So if you need a lunchtime read or something to soak in a nice bubble bath with...grab your drink of choice and Ms. Johnson's new book 'Return of Their Master' and settle in for one HOT read.

I must say that I don’t read a lot of erotica. I’m generally just not a huge fan of it. But The Return of their Master is not your run of the mill erotica. Though fast paced at times, it was an extremely enjoyable read. Bringing a level of sexual sensuousness not often seen in erotica, I rather enjoyed the scenes that usually leave me cringing a little inside.

The story revolves around the lives of Angie and her sisters – vampires – and centers on the choices that Angie must make. She must now make the choice between staying with the man she loves and protecting the world from a new but ancient threat.

The caring and loving relationships within this story had me sighing with awww’s, just the way good relationships should be.
Bringing new meaning to the word vampire, and new elements into the vampire realm, Phoenix has nailed this one.
Other than wishing the story was longer, and being left feeling like I wanted MORE MORE MORE! I thoroughly enjoyed the book as a short read, and recommend it for anyone who loves all thing vampire and erotic.

I read this as part of the anthology Vampire Bites: Vampire Paranormal Romance Boxed Set

Angie, along with her sisters Sarah, Mary, and Alice, have made a life for themselves after escaping their creator, Vitalis. While Vitals was once a wonderful father to them all, he contracted a blood illness that changed his demeanor entirely, giving the girls no other choice than to remove themselves from his abuse. Jake is the man Angie has been seeing, loves, and who wants to marry her and spend the rest of his life (or eternity, if that's what it takes) with her. I really enjoyed this book. The love between Jake and Angie, especially as the story progresses, is palpable. While there are two sex scenes in this book, neither are particularly explicit or lengthy. The book does have a HEA ending for not only Jake and Angie, but all of the sisters, with no cliffhanger.

This book was given to me for an honest review. It was a good book, but felt a little rushed. Nonetheless, I enjoyed it an would love to see a continuation of this story. I couldn't help but compare one or two things to a well known TV show, but it's very hard to read a book about vampires an not find some book or show to compare it to. I will continue to follow this author an read more of her books.

This is a very good vampire romance. I liked it. It was a quick, entertaining read with likable characters including my favorite kind of male: the loving, loyal kind. The sex scenes were hot and explicit but not trashy, and they were based on the caring relationship between the characters, which to me is best.
Because it was a short story, some of the pacing was a little quicker than was really comfortable. I would like to see this expanded into a novel. There's certainly enough there to slow it down that way. But there's nothing wrong with it as it is. If you need something to read at the beach, the waiting room, or just to pass the time on a lazy evening, this is a good one. Try it out.

I was given a complimentary copy for an honest review by author Phoenix Johnson.

Minutes after a tragic accident occurred Angie made a decision that would change a life, but it also saved a life. The only problem was her and her sisters creator was looking for them since they escaped and he was not giving up. When he makes contact with Angie and takes a sister they decide to do what needs to be done in order to save their sister.

I love the characters and their interaction with each other and the other characters. Even though this is a short read the story line flow was very smooth.

This is for any mature paranormal romance reader.
