Poruke ispisane jezikom duše

Često me pitaju koliko mi je godina.

Honestly 2.5/5 but I had to round it up.

Some of the poems are beautiful and inspiring but those made only about 10%, or maybe 20% of the book, if I’m being generous.
Rather than a collection of some of the best poems that the author had written, while reading this I unfortunately felt as if the author suddenly had to write all of the poems at once, which resulted in the quality being negatively impacted.

What I mean by this is the following:
Some of the poems about women felt overly simplistic and shallow (they weren’t negative, just one-dimensional and lacking depth); some phrases were overused throughout many poems (such as synonyms for “you picked yourself back up”), some started of well but fell flat, or had only a verse that was truly moving etc.

The biggest problem for me was definitely the similarity of a lot of the poems, even down to the phrases used, which made them seem shallow.

I think the style of the poems is very commercial, which is why a lot of people could enjoy them, but I wouldn’t really recommend it.
