The puppies from Nickelodeon's PAW Patrol are all revved up for the Adventure Bay car race. Boys and girls ages 3 to 7 will love this Step 2 Step into Reading leveled reader.
Step 2 Readers use basic vocabulary and short sentences to tell simple stories. For children who recognize familiar words and can sound out new words with help.
This book goes right along with the tv show. I don't agree rewarding a kid for bad behavior. The author could have spent a little more time teaching about how to ride bikes and such in traffic. My younger kids liked this book though.
Pretty Wordy for a Kindergartener, but if they really like Paw Patrol they will enjoy having this read TO them. All the characters are present. They save the day by helping Alex with his faulty Trike.

My Review: This is a good level two beginning reader. The familiar and much loved characters will draw even the most reluctant readers in. I do feel like this one could have been a little more complex, the sentences and words are all still very simple, almost along the lines of a level one books I have seen. With that said Munchkin is excited to read it and is picking out words so it is still encouraging reading.
This is the first half of season 1, episode 8 of the actual TV show. Paw Patrol is one of my daughter's current favorites, which is why we bought this for her when she asked for it. We like the learning to read series as it's simple and easy for her to get on her own as she learns. When it's about a series she likes on top of that, it makes it even more likely that she'll want to read it. Following the TV episode is both good and bad. Good, as it gives her a reference she's familiar with to know if she's getting the story right. Bad, because it's not really new material to add to her enjoyment of the series.
