Can two men from wildly different worlds prove to be each other’s salvation?

Trevor isn’t surprised that he’s a twenty-year-old virgin. He sees himself as skinny, clumsy, and shy, and is sure no one could possibly want him. Vincent Dombruso is about to prove him wrong.

Mysterious and troubled, Vincent masks a lot of secrets behind his handsome exterior. As the spark between them ignites, both men are surprised to find a kindred spirit in such an unexpected place. But Vincent’s Mafia ties and whatever he's not telling Trevor could destroy their chances of a happily ever after.

Note: This male/male erotic romance includes explicit language and graphic sex. For adult readers only!

Though this is the 5th book in the series, it may also be read as a stand-alone.

Title: But I Still Liked It by Rosa, Really

Subtitle: However, I'm still going to fucking nitpick

Sub-subtitle: I know, I'm an asshole.

1. Trevor notices Vincent is reading a "Kindle Fire." Why is it important to say it's a Kindle Fire? Why not just a Kindle? Or, for that matter, just an ereader? Totally took me out of the book & made me think long & hard about whether Amazon somehow rewards authors for mentioning their products (like advertisers their books more). On the other hand, every time I write Kindle I'm advertising for them as well, so what the hell am I complaining about?

2. Major pet peeve of mine - characters get creative with several pats of butter and then DON'T CLEAN THEMSELVES UP. Okay, maybe they cleaned up off-page, but all I could think about was the buttery spooge leaking out of Trevor's butthole. Luckily for my state of mind, they went swimming afterwards. Which leads to my next nitpick.

3. Wouldn't it be painful to go swimming in a salt water pool after rather vigorously getting effed in the A? Googling may be necessary.

4. ALL THE DUDES FROM PREVIOUS BOOKS. I like them but I JUST DON'T GIVE A SHIT. I want more of the cute couple.

5. Also, ALL THE DUDES FROM THE PREVIOUS BOOKS. 2 of them were in the mafia before falling in love and becoming bar owners or whatever. But they still want sweet, innocent Trevor to keep away from that scary meany, Vincent. HE'S THE EXACT SAME AS YOU BEFORE YOU FELL IN LOVE, YOU DOUCHES.

6. The most UTTERLY RIDICULOUS scene ever.

This is a rather silly series about men involved in questionable careers who frequently fall in love with other men in questionable careers. Or with cops. Or prostitutes. Whatever. It's fun & shouldn't be taken too seriously. I don't think this is the best in the series and as a novel it had a lot of faults (way too much going on, for one). But Trevor is sweet and Vincent is an Italian, vulnerable sex...well, if not a sex god, then definitely a sex lord. Of course, the whole series has rather a Mary Calmes feel, minus some rage inducing qualities. Or replaced with different soon-to-be rage inducing qualities.

BUT I STILL LIKED IT. And I can't wait for the next book! It's a bout Skye! And what's not to like about a dude with blue hair? I'm sure I'll find something....

I think I have a serious addiction to this series....these books are crack I tell you !!

 photo tumblr_nx5rf6UNy61stfiuco1_400_zpszorotqwq.gif

This time we have Trevor and Vincent. The shy and akward virgin and the dangerous mafia guy (he totally wasn't dangerous or badass).

They met in the previous book and ofcourse there is the insta-spark which turns into insta-love. With all the old couples present as well, this was again one big love fest ;)

 photo Puking_rainbows_zpsdtqbvqqo.gif

Trevor was very akward and had a tendency to ramble when nervous, either that or he just froze....I laughed my ass off.

We also get the usual ridiculousness...
Vincent was oke, but there was really nothing dangerous or bad about him. Also, I find it hard to believe that this maffia dude would play sub for some kind of asshole dom (his ex boyfriend) and let him selfself get beaten. Really ?? And Dmitri (former mafia) warming Trevor about getting involved with a dangerous guy from the mafia ?? Dude...did you forget who you were and who your best friend is ???

I liked this book, it's not my favorite, but I did enjoy reading it and it gave me a good laugh. Now I'm gonna go and read book 7, since I've already read Skye's book, which is book 6.
There was a lot of Skye in this book and I absolutely love this guy !! I loved his book too, so far it's my favorite, but who knows maybe book 7 will be better. I won't stop until I've read all of them !!

3 stars from me ;)

This series really is crack and I am an addict.

Seriously though, this was again, over the top but so much fun. The romance was sweet, the sex was sexy and I fell in love with the boys.

Vincent is all swoony and Trevor is all kinds of awkward but together they work.

I love seeing everyone from the first four books in this as well as meeting some more Dombruso family members.

Nana is still the best fucking thing even and I agree, it's noodles not pasta made from pasta farms in the middle of the city.

ETA a rant and it is a spoiler:

Nooooope! *pops the "p" obnoxiously* This one just wasn't for me. I shoulda known, given the title. If I told you all of the plot points this author crammed into a single book, you'd laugh in my face.

This book was kinda bad but also kinda good? Trevor was super cute. I liked the MCs together and was rooting for them but too much was happening with all the side characters that it lost me a bit. I'm reading out of order so not knowing who any of the old MCs were definitely made it confusing.

In this book we have have an 80-something year-old mafiosi grandma orchestrating a wedding. A wild car chase. Fireworks, firearms, shooting, cops and bad guys and good guys, reunions and reconciliations, Mafiosi Grandma's TV cooking show with more foul language than food, a HEA, a HFN and the world's worst cat. As always in this brilliant series the author mixes serious emotions and perilous circumstances with fun in a magical world where every smoking hot looking guy is gay and it's completely accepted by the mafia families, the cops, the lover's families and gay marriage is not only legal it's mandatory in the First and Forever series. So set your emotions and brain on a wonderful romance or two and see riddles become clear and problems disappear and love spread everywhere.

All of the books in Alexa Land's Firsts and Forever Series are smart, smart-assed, fun, funny, romantic, contain problematic situations and have actual interesting stories instead of the typical M/M romance standard, trite plots which aren't actual plots at all. One of the reasons I enjoy these stories so much is that they all involve gay romance with mafia guys who fall in love with men who are outside of the "family" and include an 80-something year-old grandmother mafiosi whose "boys" make sure whatever she wants she gets and if that's not enough she's got her own pistol so that she can make sure all her grandchildren and all her "gay homosexual" boys get their romantic happily ever afters.

The order of reading the books is important. Here are the books in the series in order: Way Off Plan, All In, In Pieces, Gathering Storm and Salvation.

This book had everything I have come to expect from this fun, sometimes outlandish, series. Sexy men falling into insta-love, having hot sex, dodging dangerous characters, all while having fun.

Sexy, brooding, Vincent finally gets his chance at love with the adorable Trevor. Vincent's family is convinced he is still involved in organized crime and his actions have done little to allay those suspicions. As the sparks fly between the two, Dimitri warns Trevor off of Vincent (regardless of the fact Dimitri was heavily involved in his own mob family not very long ago) but eventually Trevor can no longer resist even as Vincent pulls away. Still needing a push, Nana works her magic and gets the two alone together on the eve of Christopher and Kieran's wedding and things take off from there.

All the characters from previous books make an appearance and there are a few new ones, most notably River's younger brother Skye, who will be the subject of the next book. While for me this one lacked the emotional pull of Christopher and Hunter's books, I still had a great time with it and can't wait for the next one.

Okay who doesn't love a dark and mysterious guy, and that is exactly how everyone saw Vincent. But incredibly Vincent was so much more. I loved that the author gave him so much depth, he was a truly wonderful character and I enjoyed him and Trevor together and reading about their relationship. This had a little plot/mystery to the story and it really worked with Vincent. I love that you still get a lot of interaction with the previous couples from the other stories. They truly are one big family. My heart did break for Trevor with what happened with Melody. And if you didn't love Nana in any of the previous stories, you definitely will in this one. I laughed my ass off.

The book was great and a perfect story for the rest of the series. I wanted Vincent for Hunter in the last book, but he got a great guy in Trevor. Now I'm smitten with Gianni. I guess the Dombruso brothers are growing on me. Skye story would be fun, but I'm not sure who would be his perfect match yet. Christian may be an interesting choice, but I think Shea would be a better match for him. Plus, I like TJ for Gianni. Therefore, Skye Blue would be an interesting book to wait for.

A bit dissapointing compared to the previous books of this series. Where is the humor?

All nice and dandy, Vincent tranforms for Trevor into another person...what a lost opportunity to have a different character. Trevor is nice and all but the interesting person in this book were the sidecharacters like Skye and his friend.

And I missed the humor, that was the reason for reading them, a good love story, a lot of humor and some hot sex. Hm...I hope the next one will be funnier again.

I love this series but I had especially been waiting to read more about Vincent. If you're looking for a feelgood book then this or any other in the series is perfect. I dare anyone not to smile after reading about Nana and her gang of gay homosexuals!

Reading a book in Alexa Lands First and Forever series to me is like having a night in with friends. It is like this crazy extended family that sometimes say the wrong thing but always mean well. With each additional book this family grows and strengthens and at the end we are left waiting for the next chapter eagerly. I am not sure whether I would be scared or thrilled to know so many people involved past and present with the Mafia!
It was great to see Vincent get his own story. What a dark man he is. Broody, secretive and sometimes all out scary. We are never sure whether he wants to say hello or shoot you. He has gradually separated himself from his family and it presumed he is still involved in a lot of illegal activities. He has so much more depth than he allows people to see though and his last relationship left him damaged mentally and physically.
Trevor is a beautiful soul but has absolutely no self confidence. Having been through so much he still manages to see the good in people and puts his friends and family first without a second thought. Initially scared of Vincent he sees behind the mask he wears and can read him like a book. As much as he is drawn to the man he is also scared of his lifestyle and battles with himself in order to stay away.
This is a book that will make you laugh out loud... a lot! Where would we be without Nana? She is just as mad this time round with her crazy ideas and her potty mouth. She loves her ‘gay homosexuals’ with a vengeance and is like a mother hen always looking out for the people she loves.
For some reason Trevor makes Vincent want to open up and be a better person. Although not a smooth love affair it is not filled with too much angst. For me it was more a story of love, trust and honesty. The more Vincent could trust Trevor the more he stepped back into the real world and started living again. He replaced his sullen looks with smiles and laughs and fell totally head over heels in love with the younger man.
I’m really looking forward to Book 6 and finding out about the lovely Skye who clearly has had some issues in his past. We will hopefully see another wedding or two. Not only Vincent but Brians and how lovely it was to see him walking! You could read this as a standalone but my advice would be to start at the beginning. This is one family you don’t want to miss out on!

4.5 Heart Review by Dan

Note to self. Only start an Alexa Land book when you don’t mind staying up half the night to finish it!

Seriously, I love this lady’s books. They are all standalone, but they have a whole host of characters that follow through to each book, and I’d really recommend you read them in order so you know who everyone is. It will make for a more enjoyable read.

In Book 5 of the series, we have the story of Trevor, who we met in book four when he was sneaking extra cookies into his pocket from a buffet. Trevor has become the working partner of River, the caterer, and their business is really picking up thanks to my favorite character, Stana Dombruso, affectionately known as Nana.

Trevor met Vincent Dombruso at an event he was helping catering, and instantly clicked with him. For some reason, Vincent, a drop dead Italian Mafioso, seems to have a thing for Trevor. Trevor doesn’t understand because he sees himself as a skinny, shy, nothing special sort of guy. Luckily Vincent is out to prove him wrong.

But Vincent has some dark secrets. How will Trevor react when he finds out some of Vincent’s dark past? What about the mysterious nefarious activities that it appears Vincent is currently involved in?

In addition to Trevor and Vincent’s story, we also have the wedding of Christopher Robin and Kieran, as well as some other updates on the characters from the previous books. Since they are all connected in some way, I tend to think of these guys as one big happy family. Lord knows Nana has adopted them all if she isn’t already related to them, so I guess that makes sense!

As always, I really enjoyed the book. This book, like all her books moves along quickly. I highly recommend it, and the entire series. Keep following along, next week I’ll be bringing you a review on book 6, Skye Blue!

This has got to be my favorite book in the series next to Way Off Plan. I loved both Trevor and Vincent. This time, Trevor isn’t selling any of his body parts *wink* *wink* - he’s just a shy, skinny and clumsy kid from nowhere who arrived in San Francisco with his cousin looking for his long lost father.

Then there’s the ever stoic Vincent Dombruso, who apparently is still doing something within the mafia. Troubled by his pasts and secrets, he needs to keep everything by himself in order to protect his family and the man he loves.

I loved Trevor’s character. He’s very likable and who didn’t feel bad for him when he was first introduced in Gathering Storm? Tell me who?!!! The boy was just all kinds of adorable. What he has with Vincent was nothing short of magic because he’s really got the key to Vincent’s heart. I actually feel so bad about Vincen’t past and just wanna give him a big hug!!! I’m also heartbroken when his ungrateful cousin didn’t fulfilled her promise to Trevor. That bitch! Anyhoo, I’m over it since they’ve got the smartass Joshie now. Oops!

So far, this is the most cohesive and most dynamic story in the series.
great characterization and amazing plot turns.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars

Love this book ... This series is an excellent reminder of how you can unconditionally love someone and make sacrifices for them.

Trevor and Vincent's story is a beautifully written.

Trevor is a shy and loyal man who will do anything for others sometimes forgetting about his own happiness.

Vincent stoic persona is difficult to decipher ...

Only Trevor can have Vincent's walls crashing down.

Trevor and Vincent struggle with the decision to start a relationship and the first encounter is prove of that.

Trevor doesn't seem to want to let Vincent in ... Until one night that all changes for him.

With the help of Nana , I must add she is the bomb , they are finally alone.

Revelations , feelings and opportunities arise with them.

Vincent is not what he portrays.
Trevor is what Vincent needs.

Both are really good for each other.

This is a emotional read ... Lovely read.

The introduction of Skye , River's brother , Gianni , Vincent's brother and Christian , Skye's best friend ... adds more value to the story.

Let me in you in a secret , River and Skye are hilarious ... Along with Christian.

Read this book ... Looking forward to the next.

I hope this series never ends!

I hope this series never ends!

I love love love love this series to pieces and adore Ms. Land's humor. I have highlighted so many funny paragraphs and sentences my kindle is very colorful now.
Vincent and Trevor were such a cute couple and while I have been shocked before with the couple's (Hello???? Brian and Hunter?? Never saw that one coming.) pairings, they made sense and were perfect for each other.
This book was a bit more serious, but I have one word for you and that is Nana. She is absolutely hysterical in this book. She reminds me of my own spitfire Grandmother.
I really hope this series continues. I pick these up and re-read every time a new book comes out and I never get bored.
Well done Ms. Land! Can not wait for the next one!

I started this one before I realized that this was several books into the series. It was a nice surprise to find out that it didn't really matter. Outside of including characters from the other books on the peripheral I never felt like the main focus was drifting away from the M/C's. Vincent and Trevor were just what the other needed and I think at exactly the right time. This was a sweet, easy, enjoyable read. No tears, very little true drama but it held me from start to finish. Now I have to go read the others and patiently wait for late summer and the book of Skye. :)

I love this series!

I was so hoping that the gorgeous Vincent would get his HEA, so I was very excited about this next book in the series. Trevor and Vincent are adorable together and it was awesome to see them fall in love. This story wasn't as drama filled as some of the previous books, but it still kept me glued to the pages. I highly recommend this one to all fans of Alexa Land's First and Forever series.

I have loved all of these books, but I think this might almost be my favorite. Trevor and Vince were so sweet to each other and they developed such a connection. One of the best thing about this series is that past characters are still so included in each book and you get catch up with them in each new installment. There is an extract from the next book and it was hysterical making me eager to read it.

If something awful had happened to either one of these guys during the book (I know, so formula) I would have 5-starred it but even though they started rough it seemed a bit too easy for them compared to the other couples in this series. Still love Nana and her crew. The cooking show was freaking hilarious. Now just waiting for Skye's story. Waiting...waiting...waiting. Are we there yet? Oooh, I just found his story. *runs to buy*

Even though our cast of series characters is getting deep, and making sure everybody gets an appearance runs the risk of feeling like you spend half the book doing roll call, this one managed to give everybody a cameo without sacrificing the plot.

Also, it made me cry. Twice.

But I laughed a lot more than I cried, so it all works out.

I think I might be in love with Skye. I can't wait for his story now..

Ok, I'm not going to bore you all with a needless synopsis. All I'm going to say is this is one fantastic addition to an already amazing series. Wow! You want to know what it was all about? Read it. I will say this, the boys, and I mean ALL the boys need to throw Nana Dumbruso the party of the century. She so loves her "gay homosexuals" and geez, I love her. She needs her own book. LOL Thank you Alexa for a truly wonderful story and series. And thank you MORE for Nana! <3 <3 <3

This book had some totally laugh out loud scenes and at one point it made me cry. There was so much going on though and I really wanted more quality interaction between the two mc's. A lot of improbable things happened but I decided to suspend disbelief and just go with it! I am eager to read Skye's story.
