"Are we almost there?"
She didn't answer. She continued to pull me along, and I let her. The truth was, I would've let her take me anywhere.

🖤 MY READING EXPERIENCE
I truly loved this story. Such a fresh, gripping take on dystopian survival. Yes, there are “zombies” (and not the kind you expect 👀), but they’re only part of the danger. The real tension comes from everything else lurking in this world. It felt intense, unpredictable, and completely addictive from start to finish.

🫀CHARACTER THOUGHTS
Sara and Cat...I’m obsessed. Sara is a bat-wielding loner who trusts no one, while Cat feels just as alone but still holds onto that quiet hope for community. Their first meeting pulled me in, but when they cross paths again? That’s when everything clicks. The chemistry, the tension, the way they start to rely on each other - it builds so naturally and had me fully invested.

🔥 MOMENTS I’M STILL THINKING ABOUT
The constant sense of danger in this book had me on edge the entire time. These two are literally fighting to survive and choosing each other in the middle of all that chaos! That’s my favorite kind of story. The lengths they go, the risks they take… and THAT cliffhanger?? I need answers immediately.

WHAT I LIKED:
I loved how smart Sara was when it came to making plans, figuring things out, and making decisions.

I loved the worldbuilding and found the take on some zombie variants interesting.

The mystery surrounding Cat was always on the back of my mind, wondering how she was able to do what she could.

I loved how both women had moments to rescue each other. Their chemistry was apparent from the moment they choose to get involved with one another.

The flashbacks involving Sara’s past wasn’t disruptive to me. I didn’t feel like I was being yanked from a more important story in the present, but rather wanted to see what happened in Sara’s past before getting back to the present.

WHAT I DIDN’T LIKE:
Sometimes, when the POV switched, the following chapter is just the previous chapter but from the other heroine’s perspective, so it was a bit jarring to realize I was essentially reading the same scene twice.

SPICE:
One kiss scene.

I can't believe I am the first review for this on good reads. The switch in Timeline was a little jarring at times. But I couldn't get through this fast enough. I really hope we get to see these characters again. I want more of Cat & Sara.
