Dr. Steven and Sue Simring show that it is possible to overcome damaging behavior patterns if one has the awareness and discipline to eliminate the emotional blindspots that cloud judgment and lead to faulty decision making.
This is an extremely practical book for introspective people. It concerns common blind spots people have and how to avoid making the same mistake over and over again. As usual, the people who could most benefit from it are unlikely to read it, but I think it has a little something for everyone. Everyone has blind spots, but it's the desire to recognize them for what they are and the energy to change them that are less common. The book's effectiveness depends mostly on correct timing. I think someone has to be ready for it. The authors do a good job with anecdotal stories. The book is helpful for processing past events and finding patterns to them which will hopefully give the reader a better strategy in the future.
