Robert J. Crane was born and raised on Florida's Space Coast before moving to the upper midwest in search of cooler climates and more palatable beer. He graduated from the University of Central Florida with a degree in English Creative Writing. He worked for a year as a substitute teacher and worked in the financial services field for seven years while writing in his spare time.
I can’t believe I’m saying this, but Sienna and Wade were finally in a good place, and I loved it. The way they call each other “my wife” and “my husband” like it’s the best thing in the world? I’m eating it up. I have waited so long for this moment. Will it last? Probably not, because life (and Robert J. Crane) refuses to let Sienna be happy for more than five minutes, but I’m holding onto it while I can.
Meanwhile, Reed is still sulking because his sister is stronger and more feared than him. We are 59 books in, and this man is still mad about it? Reed. Please. Find peace.
Sienna calling herself a goddess? She should. She’s been through everything, and at this point, she might as well claim the title. No one’s stopping her. And honestly, the way the world is falling apart in this book? It’s giving full apocalypse horror, and I love it. The “infected by rage” element? Yes. One more step toward a person gnawing on someone else, and it would have been straight up 28 Days Later. I was ready.
Then Chapter 52 rolls around, and I know something bad is coming. And then Sienna begging for death? That broke me. She’s survived so much, fought harder than anyone, and in that moment, she was just done. I hated seeing her like that.
But then Wade. Wade. “We are going to be driving each other nuts for a very long time to come, Mrs. Wade. I’m going to be feeling those cold feet of yours on my legs in bed for millennia yet.” I am in love with this man. This is everything. He doesn’t care about the chaos, the end of the world, any of it he just loves HIS WIFE.
What was that ending?! Wade taking a job that keeps him away from her? Reed, his wife, and the whole agency just leaving the country? Sienna is alone. Again. Every time she gets even a little bit of happiness, something rips it away. At this point, I need Mr Crane to personally explain to me when this woman will finally get a break.
I will absolutely be here for book 60, because I clearly love the pain.

Here we go then. Buckle up for the last story arc EVER. And boy, is this one shaping up to be a doozy.
Sienna does what she does. Not alone, naturally. But not necessarily welcomed. So what's new?
This is as fast paced a story as I have read from Robert. This time in 3 POVs. And it works. It really does. The frenetic pace of the short chapters really serves to amp up the tension and chaotic feel as the story hurtles to its conclusion.
A few surprises that you might not see coming. And the certainty that whatever happens over these next few books we are in for a heck of a ride.
I can't praise the Sienna books enough, I try not to read them too quickly.... but alas that fails everytime. Mr Crane has set out his stall for this final story arc, I'm excited to read it and dreading the end in equal measure. These books are a journey I'll never regret, but one I will miss. If you are thinking of starting this journey, DO IT, it'll be the best fictional journey of a powerful metahuman woman who is the central character that I've ever read.
Wow! What a ride with betrayal, action and great goodness
Our two lovers find time for romance to truly becoming a couple. When China really takes over the world our heroes must step up to take charge to stop the madness. This saga brings back so many characters we the readers can not get enough fast enough. The gods have more problems coming. Bet on it. Our characters are given more depth making us love them more. As with all of Robert J Cranes universes, this again would make blockbuster movie I'd pay to see.
Triggerman was a typical girl in the box book. Lots of action, interesting story lines, but far from Mr. Crane’s best outing. One thing I’ve enjoyed about this series is the author’s impressive imagination in coming up with new and unique ways for Sienna and crew to get into and out of trouble. This one, not so imaginative! I don’t want to give any spoilers here ( so I won’t) but I have to say there were a number of instances where the events seemed fairly predictable. All in all I enjoyed the story, but this aspect of it was somewhat disappointing.
I absolutely love this series. This one did not disappoint. There is a lot of action and growth in this one. Even with the action though you can feel the wind up for something more to come.
It’s bittersweet to think we are so close to the end, nearing book 65. I won’t re-read the series until it ends. There were so many books I hated and couldn’t understand until later - just like growing old. Perspective. Robert J. Crane is a true craftsman.
I really like this series but found this one a little harder to follow. Usually the chapters switch between 2 characters but this one had 3. Lots of changes coming; well worth reading.
