Romance novelist Savannah Young grew up in rural northwest New Jersey in a place very similar to the fictional Old Town, which is featured in her books. When she's not at her computer creating spicy stories, Savannah is traveling to exotic locales or spending time with her husband and their bloodhounds.
This is the second book in the series about the Wilde Brothers. The story takes place in Old Town. The four brothers own and run a local bar called Haymakers and this is Tucker and Gracie’s story.
Tucker was injured in Iraq and his leg is disfigured. He has serious self-esteem issues over his mangled leg and has not been with a woman since. He sees himself as damaged goods and no woman would ever want to be with him because of it. In book one you got some back-story of the emotional nightmare his life has become since coming home from the war.
“The sight of the mangled limb will probably make her sick. It certainly turns my stomach every morning when I have to look at it. The bomb did a good job on my leg.”
Gracie has enough drama going on in her life for the two of them that is for sure. After arriving in the small town with her abusive boyfriend and being left beaten outside the bar her life takes a turn for the better when Tucker finds her and helps her.
Sometimes you need a good love story where you know that the two will find a way to make things work. They are like two damaged souls that understand each other and both have scarred past but they only see the beauty in each other.
Tucker is everything you would want in a man. Tender, sweet and will go balls to the wall to defend Gracie and keep her safe. The chemistry between them was fantastic and there was some intensely hot sex scenes. Loved that Tucker wanted to always make Gracie feel cherished and cared for.
“I lean down and kiss her again. This time, I pull her closer and deepen the kiss. People say they see fireworks when they kiss someone special, but I’m seeing an entire universe of glimmering stars. And every part of my body feels alive like being charged by those stars.”
This book gives you a perfect blend of romance, action and sex. I started this book and did not stop reading until I finished it. Looking forward to the next book in the series.
“I kiss Gracie again but this time it’s more intense and needier. I’m already so hard I could cut ice with my erection. The zipper of my jeans can hardly contain the monster that’s growing inside my pants.”

The Second Book from the Wilde Brothers Series, and this time we get to know Tucker and it really pulls at the heart strings.
Tucker joined the United States Army right out of high school. The war really changed Tucker; it took away his spirit, left him with an injured leg and made him feel he wasn't any good for anyone.
Tucker now back in Old Town works at Haymakers the Bar he runs with his brothers. One day in walks Gracie Parker. She looks frightened and lost, but immediately Tucker is drawn to her and wants to help her, but is that all he wants to do help her? Or does he feel a deeper connection?
Gracie has been a victim of abuse all her life, she’s only nineteen but she cant take anymore, then Tucker walks into her life and he is kind to her, but why would anyone be kind to her as far as she is concerned she’s nothing. But these two broken souls are drawn to each other. However Dex is determined he isn't going to let Gracie walk away from him and he will stop at nothing.
The book is written from both POV just like the first in the series, and in this book especially it was needed as some scenes required the others perspective more to fully understand it and in my eyes live it with them. Just like the first book I couldn't put it down and I’m really eager to get to read Hunter and Jake's stories and believe me you will too.
This is book two in the Old Town Country Romance series. Each book can be read as a standalone although I do suggest you read them all as you won't want to miss out on these brothers stories:)
This is Truckers story. He's back from Iraq and he's injured physically and mentally. He's drawn to Grace who he sees in his bar. Can both these damaged souls help each other?
I found this to be more emotional than book one. Great read that I highly recommend.
Old Town Country Romance is a new series that quickly imposed to the readers’ attention promising „spicy contemporary romance about four sexy brothers, their small-town bar and their local country band.” For is not it, no matter how we hide, having in view what symbolize and not necessarily the reality, the music and the cowboys were always one of the top women’ day dreaming and when they are bring together ... it becomes even more attractive.
The author plays the role of matchmaker, being resolved to marry all four brothers, and after the first two volumes it is logical to assume that every brother will find his half. His better suited half, because it seems that each of them gets exactly what he needs. At least that was with the first two. However, a rule seems to be always present, because as Tucker says: „The Wilde brothers fall fast and we fall hard.”
If in the first volume, Cooper and Riley succumb to the temptation ... the instant attraction between them, Tucker has something to face. That's because Gracie has a history that terrifies and that you didn’t wish to anyone. At only 19 years she could be forever lost. Her luck will be Tucker. And we're not talking here about love at first sight (note that we talk about "first sight" respecting Wilde brother mentioned rule), but Tucker's inability to accept any suffering and injustice and his "genetic" desire to do what is right. If the reward for the deed could be translated in this case as the opportunity to find the true love it’s even better. The problem is that very likely, the reward could be the destruction and or death of both.
But Grace is not the only one burdened by her past. The mental and physical suffering that he came back with from Sandbox will increase his secluded and seemingly violent way of behaving. Seemingly, because having the power to kill, he is willing to be killed to ensure Gracie a secure future. Are you curious now?
Gracie's unexpected connection to one of the secondary characters from the first volume makes me wonder if the author prepares something about Savage, „the closest thing I’ve [Tucker] got to a friend.”
Being all introduced in the first volume, I was most curious about how will be Tucker’s story. My disappointment is that the brothers’ stories are created in the short story format and the action is linear and runs too fast. These "lacks" are offset by the attractive style of the author, nice characters and how she makes you read in one sitting. So I'm pretty sure that I will have a look on the following two volumes considering who left "not committed": Jake, the big brother, played a lot with fire, so his true love – that he is unwilling or unable to admit - is almost ashes, and Hunter, the youngest, whose presence has been meteoric so far.
So, if you are looking from some enjoyable time, you could try Old Town Country Romance stories.
Welcome back to rural Old Town, NJ, home of loud trucks, cold beer, country music, and the hot Wilde brothers!
In each book of the Old Town Country Romance series, Author Savannah Young weaves an entertaining romantic tale that tells the story of each of the four Wilde brothers: Cooper, Jake, Tucker, and Hunter.
In The Wilde One, Author Savannah Young once again calls upon her NJ roots as the reader is transported back to the small rural town of Old Town, NJ, where this time the focus is on Tucker and Gracie's story. Told in the first person narrative, the reader follows Tucker and Gracie as their heartwarming and emotional romance unfolds like a classic country song.
Tucker has come home from Iraq as a broken and wounded veteran, a shadow of the fun loving Wilde brother that he used to be.
Nineteen year old Gracie Parker has been a victim of abuse her whole life, and the vicious circle of abuse continues in the hands of Dex, her biker boyfriend.
When Tucker discovers Gracie being beat by Dex in the parking lot of his family's bar, Haymakers, he dons his warrior white knight armor and rescues her. Can two broken people find solace and love in each other's arms, or will a dangerous threat from an abusive ex-boyfriend stand in their way?
I absolutely loved reading Tucker and Gracie's touching story. You can't help but get drawn into their lives, and embrace the beauty of how two broken people's relationship slowly develops with emotional healing and love. I loved the protective instinct that Tucker has towards Gracie, his kind and tender heart simply made me smile. This story is so much more emotionally intense and dramatic than the first book in the series, I loved that the author delved into the dark social issues, pain, and loss that wounded warriors and abuse victims face in their lives. Tucker and Gracie's story is about two people who learn to let go of their painful pasts, find the courage to open up their hearts to trust and love, and discover the self-confidence that is within themselves. Not only are Tucker and Gracie perfect for each other, they complete and make each other whole again! I would be remiss if I didn't mention the brotherly bond, support, and antics of the other three charming Wilde brothers that is once again interwoven in the storyline like it was in the first book.
The Wilde One is an emotional romantic tale that has a fun cast of characters, witty and humorous banter, drama, and a sweet and spicy romance set to a country theme.
Disclaimer: I received a copy of the book from the author / publisher in exchange for my honest review and participation in a virtual book tour event hosted by Reading Addiction Virtual Book Tours.
‘The Wilde One’ is the second book in Savannah Young’s Old Town Country Romance series. This story of finding the courage to trust another person, regardless of the past, and find self-worth in oneself is just what I hoped for and it did not disappoint at all.
‘The Wilde One’ is Tucker’s story of accepting the past, letting go and finding his own happiness. We have met Tucker in the first installment of this series, Coopers’ story, and learned that he just returned from Iraq after being injured and just barely escaping death. However, he not only comes back with an injured leg that leaves him with a slight limp, he also has mental scars and a bruised soul that might never heal. Yet, during the story, we get to know the real Tucker, not the scary persona he projects on the outside to keep people at bay, but the damaged person who has seen and experienced unbearable heartache unlike most, but still manages to hold onto his humanity and compassion. He has a big heart and therefore is unable to just standby and do nothing when he sees a young woman being abused by her boyfriend.
That woman is Gracie Parker, a nineteen year old girl who has never known anything but abuse in her life; be it neglect from her drug-addict mother, her father’s use and abuse of her beauty or her physical abuse her boyfriend Dex put her through. She is unable to see her own beauty or self-worth and is convinced that she doesn’t deserve better or happiness in her life. The development of Gracie’s character while reading the story is not only very thought-out and elaborate, but also very fascinating. With Tucker’s help she is able to see her own worth as a human being and learns that there are people out there that will love her for her and not for the ways in which they can use her. It is great to see her fight for what she wants in the end and not capitulate just because it might be easier.
Tucker and Gracie not only find love with each other, but they also seem to complete each other, despite their issues, in a way that makes them whole.
I have to say, after reading two of Savannah Young’s novels I’m a huge fan and will probably one-click her future novels without having to think about it. The only thing I have to lament is that the books are not longer. I love her writing and narrative style, the way she manages to draw out my emotions and is able to captivate my attention from the beginning.
This is book two in the Old Town country romance series. It does standalone perfectly, but I suggest you read The Wilde Riders also whether before or after doesn’t matter, though it if you read it first you get to know the other brothers better. This story is about Tucker Wilde. He is the third of four brothers that live in a small rural town in New Jersey. He and three of his brothers run the haystack, a bar they inherited form their father. He is an ex-military man and was injured in Iraq. He suffers from a near loss of his leg and severe PTSD. Gracie is a young girl that has had a very bad life and has her own demons and scars to hide. The man that thinks he owns her (boyfriend is too nice a word for Dex) brings her into the Haystack. Tucker was immediately drawn to her, not just her looks but the way the man is treating her as if she were a possession not a person, by the way she is dressed ( or not dressed for the cold in thin, too small clothes, while he has warm leather jacket and boots) and that he doesn’t let her speak or order for herself( he gets burger fries and beer and orders her salad and tap water). I loved this story. Tucker is very different from his brothers especially Cooper and Jake. I love how all four brothers have such distinctive personalities. I also liked how this story had a bit more sadness and drama than the first which matched Tuckers personality. I found the story very exciting with a bit of a mystery( I swooned when Tucker did what he did to try to prevent Dex from ever coming after Gracie again. I was in shock, and awe. What a valiant thing to do (you really need to read it and see!) the sex in the story is hot and there is a few sex scenes but I chose moderate since though spicy and sexy they are not crass or overly verbally descriptive. I love it! I can’t wait for book three! If you like country boys, ex-military men, broken men and broken women, damsels in distress, Bar tenders country bands, sweet, romantic, sexy, stories this is definitely for you!
* I received a copy of this book free-of-charge from the author in exchange for my honest opinion. All opinions expressed are my own*review written for http://naughtytalesreviews.wordpress....
"Harley said that we are both Broken. That's why you like me so much." "I am broken enough for both of us," I admit. "No denying that. But you're absolutely perfect in every way."
The Wilde One is Tucker's story. We first met Tucker in Wilde Ones the first book of the series. He has been injured in Iraq and thinks that he will never be able to find a woman who will be able to love him because of his damaged leg. While he has made great progress with how he is dealing with things, he still suffers from somewhat of a low self esteem, until the day that he meets Gracie.
Gracie is brought into Haymakers bar with Dex, the biker who thinks and feels that he owns her. Gracie has had a hard life growing up and feels as if she has no where to go or no one to care for her. She has been verbally and physically abused for awhile now and told that she is lucky to have Dex to want her with the scar on her face from an accident when she was younger.
From the first moment that Tucker lays eyes on Gracie he is taken by her. He feels and thinks that she is absolutely gorgeous. He does not see her as damaged goods, but as a beautiful woman who should be treated with love and respect. It bothers him to the point that he just can't walk away when he see's how Dex treats her, and vows to protect her from that point forward.
This is a very touching story about two people who feel that neither one deserve to find happiness. Sometimes the stars see that things take a different path other than what we believe we should be on. Tucker and Gracie have both been put through traumatic experiences and because of this see themselves as damaged. But when they look at each other they see the other person as perfect and beautiful. Because of this, they are able to help each other come to terms with their low self esteems. I like how not only does Savannah Young write about self doubt, but she also writes on abuse, tragedy, and overcoming issues that seem never ending. The love and trust that she also builds around family bonds is also really good. And let's all face the truth, who doesn't love a good book about real life country boys... I know I do. So yes, you got it, this book as well as her other on Wilde Ones is well worth four stars.
The Wilde One Savannah Young This story was given to me in exchange for an honest review. This is the second story in the Old Town Country Romance Series. Both of them are very sweet country stories based on the boys of the Wilde Family leaving in Old Town running the local bar called Haymakers. Tucker Wilde has serious self esteem issues. He was badly injured in Iraq and his leg is severely disfigured. He thinks that he is not worthy of being loved and has not been with anyone sexually since he came home. Nineteen year old Gracie Parker is in a horrible situation. She was traded to her now boyfriend Dex as a seventeen year old to pay of her father's gambling debt. He treats her horribly and is both physically and mentally abusive. One night changes things forever for these two wounded souls. Dex brings Gracie into Haymakers and then leaves her there after slapping her around. This brings out the protectiveness in Tucker as he moves her into the family home to care for her. They are two peas in a pod and they slowly become comfortable around each other and the love begins to blossom. He cares and nutures her, something that she has never experienced, she looks at him, looks beyond his bum leg and this is something that he has never experienced. This story was truly moving as they blossom for each other. He awakens desires in her as he shows her how a lady should be treated and how wonderful sex can be. She accepts him how he is and he begins to hope that he may actually have a future worth living. Of course Dex is not quite ready to let go of his so called property and is still around to cause some upsets. This only brings out more protectiveness on Tucker's behalf. I really enjoyed reading this story. It was an honest to goodness, straight from the heart love story. It was fast paced and I was kept entertained from start to finish. Even though it is part of a series, it could be a read alone, but I love how series go together, love how we really get to know all the characters throughout. I would rate this story a 5/5 and look forward to reading the next one.
I enjoyed this heart warming easy read. We get to learn more about the third Wilde brother, Tucker Wilde. He was always just the average brother growing up. His two older brothers were both stars in their own right, Jake the player and Cooper the brain. Tucker left right after high school to join the Army and was injured in Iraq. Having to come back to Old Towne to live was not what Tucker wanted to do. But he is trying his best to get on with what life has dealt him.
Gracie Parker just happened to know a thing or two about not being loved or cared for. She has had a hard life since she can remember. She has been looking after herself since she was 12. Things take a bad turn when she meets Dex. Dex is the worse kind of person a 17 year old could meet. But she has no where else to go. She just tries to cope with Dex and come to live.
A stop into the Haymakers one afternoon by Dex and Gracie causes Tucker’s world to shift. He wants nothing more than to help get Gracie away from Dex. He does not understand how she can be with him when Dex treats her like a piece of property and she is so beautiful. As Gracie is left in the dirt by Dex, Tucker brings her into his world and before long she is starting to put the shattered pieces of his heart back together.
Gracie has a hard time learning to accept that someone wants to be nice to her for nothing in exchange. She feels safe with Tucker from the first time ever in her life. As they continue to help mead each others hearts, Dex decides he wants her back. After all she belongs to him.
Will Tucker be able to protect Gracie from Dex? Can Gracie help Tucker realize that no matter what happened in the war he is perfect to her? Does Dex steal back Gracie, leaving Tucker alone again?
This was an easy read that will have your heart fluttering for these 2 broken people as they learn to love for the first time unconditionally and that Tucker has the biggest heart of all the Wilde brothers. He was the one brother that had me wanting to know all his secrets.
In the first book of the Old Town Country Romance series, we read about Cooper Wilde and his adventure. This time we get to know more about Cooper's brother Tucker.
Tucker is a wounded veteran, in more ways than one. What he went through in Iraq has effected his physical, mental, emotional, and social life. He doesn't think he will ever fit in or feel comfortable with anyone, including his family again. So he continues on the best way he can, working and and keeping to himself. He knows his family worries about him but he can't pull himself out of his funk long enough to try to make them feel better.
Gracie Parker got the crappy end of the stick when it comes to life. With a horrible set of parents and no one to help her in life, she's landed in an even worse predicament as a young women. So as she finds herself with the current monster in her life, in a small town bar, she doesn't know what is in store for her next. When a handsome bartender with damage in his eyes tries to be nice to her, she becomes terrified. She knows her monster won't tolerate it. So she isn't so much as surprised as she is frightened of being beat up and left in a town where she doesn't know anyone and with nowhere to go.
Tucker doesn't know why Gracie makes him feel so protective and compassionate towards her, he's just glad to feel something at all. When he finds out about Gracie's past he has to make a decision about whether or not he can handle what it does to him. Gracie has to make her own decisions and find out if she can overcome feeling as though her past and the monsters of her life own her. Can Gracie and Tucker find what they need and so desperately want with one another? Or have they been to beaten down by life to have any hope for themselves? Find out when you keep up with the Old Town Country boys!
I loved this second book on the Wilde brothers. Tucker is the big muscled brother that had his leg injured in afganistan. I fell in love with this big, burly man in this book. This book also brings back the other brothers, Cooper, Hunter, and Jake as well as Harley ( Jakes on and off again girl) and Riley ( Cooper's fiance). The Wilde brothers own a bar (Haystackers) and all but Cooper and sometimes Hunter work there full time. Jake does books and the bar and Tucker does the bar. Harley waits on tables. While Tucker is working in walks a biker, Dex and he drags along a girl, Gracie. Tucker has a bad feeling about this couple and he thinks Gracie looks like she needs rescued. Dex ordered for them both and he only let Gracie have salad and water. Then he got irritated when he ask Gracie if she wanted anything else. He didn't want Tucker talking to Gracie. They left suddenly and she didn't even get to eat. Tucker followed them outside and saw Dex slap Gracie several times and through her down in the dirt and race out of the parking lot and left Gracie in the dirt. Tucker ran over to help her. She accepted his help to get up and he helped her back into the bar. He sat her down and cleaned her off and ask her what she was going to do. She told him she didn't know because she had no money and no where to go. He took her out to their house even though Jake told him he didn't even know her well enough. Jake and Tucker had an argument over this and Tucker told him he always took women there. Gracie is so frail looking and Tucker feels the need to take care of her. There story has a lot of ups and downs as Dex tries to find her and take her back. It also introduces you to her brother Shane Parker. You will love this story and you will also learn to see the softer side of Tucker. This is a great read
In the first book of the Old Town Country Romance series, we read about Cooper Wilde and his adventure. This time we get to know more about Cooper's brother Tucker.

This is the second book in this series, this time we get to know Tucker and it really pulls at the heart strings.
I loved the glimpses of Tucker we got in the last book, you could tell he was struggling, that he has a darkness the holds him back, but you can tell there is a good man underneath the hard intense exterior? This kind of character really appeals to me.
Tucker is working in the bar he owns with his brothers one night when in walks a evil man Dex and a very broken girl Gracie. Dex treats Gracie like property he tells her what to eat and drink and when she can do it, this gets Tucker on alert right from the start.
Gracie has been a victim of abuse all her life, she’s only nineteen but she cant take anymore. These two broken souls are drawn to each other. But Dex isn't going to let Gracie go easily, and so the plot is built. These books are such a easy read they flow fast and the story draws you in. As the books are written in both hero and heroines POV I feel you get the full story, it's as though your living it along with the characters.
The sex scenes in this book are sensual and sexy but they have this beautiful quality to them because of what Gracie endured before she met Tucker. The things Tucker say to Gracie when they are together, the way he treats her. Tucker is this great big intimidating man and Gracie is small and fragile but he cares for her needs first. The way Tucker describes the salt and pepper pots as a likeness for them as a couple is just so cute. There is a element of insta love in these books but like Tucker says "when a Wilde brother falls, he falls hard and fast" and I just love it. I’m really eager to get to read Hunter and Jake's stories. I'm loving this series.
This is the second book in a series about the Wilde brothers. I have not read the first one and I didn’t feel like I needed to, to understand the background story. The first story was about Cooper and this one we get to learn about Tucker Wilde. This book was really sweet and tugged at your heartstrings the entire time.
Tucker joined the military right out of high school and is now home after suffering from a bomb in Iraq. It left him mental scars as well as deforming his leg. He feels like a monster and has stopped trying to get someone other than his brothers to love him.
Gracie has had a really hard life. Her mother was high all of the time and was thrown into jail when she was 12. Her dad was much better either. He had a gambling problem and ended up selling her to a loan shark when she was 17. Two years later she walks into Tucker’s bar and everything has changed.
This book was really sad and happy all at the same time. Both characters were broken and it took them meeting each other to help fix the broken parts. Tucker was so sweet to Gracie. He genuinely cared about her and only wanted to protect her. Gracie was sweet as well. She was able to look past his scary and built exterior to see the gentle caring man underneath.
This book was really sweet. It was about healing and growing with another person. If you are looking for a relatively fast read with a wonderful Happy Ever After this is the book for you.
Okay, I have to admit that at first, I wasn't interested in reading this one. I am not a fan of contemporary country music, at all. I do, however, like my rock star romances. How could this be too much different? It's not like I was going to have to listen to the music, right? I was pleasantly surprised and couldn't put down the Kindle until I was finished with the book.
This is one of the first times that I have ever come close to wanting to call someone my book boyfriend. Tucker is fabulous. He is damaged, both physically and emotionally from his time in Iraq. He is so self-conscious of his mangled leg that he cannot conceive of allowing a woman get close to him. To do so would mean letting her see his imperfections and acknowledging his demons. Yet the man has a huge heart and wants to do whatever he can to help people.
Gracie stumbles into his path when she is forcefully dragged into the bar and humiliated in front of everyone. Tucker is a real man who isn't going to put up with any of that nonsense and rescues her. He feeds her, clothes her, and takes care of her. He also allows her to maintain her independence and to do things for herself, because she is capable. *swoon*
Romance isn't easy under normal circumstances. When both of you are already broken, it can be even more complicated. Yet somehow, two broken pieces can also fit together nicely, to create one whole.
There isn't a ton of drama and conflicts are few. The focus is just on rebuilding themselves and falling in love. A quick, uncomplicated read that is perfect for a sunny afternoon. And now I am jonesing to read the rest of the series!
I received a complimentary copy in exchange for my honest review.
This is the 2nd book in the Wilde Brothers series and is about Tucker, the "broken" Wilde brother.
Tucker was injured while serving in Iraq and since then, he feels like he's less than a man. He walks with a limp and is convinced that is all that anyone sees when they look at him.
That is until he meets Gracie.
Gracie walks in on the arm of a man in a biker getup. She's sad, quiet, and scared. Tucker is immediately drawn to her and confused as to why she's with a man that treats her as biker guy does.
Being the good guy that Tucker is, he steps in, telling her that she doesn't have to leave with him. She does, however, with pain in her eyes. It's only minutes later that she's left hurt and crying on the ground of the parking lot.
I love a good hero story and that's just what this is. Gracie has been beat down physically and mentally for as long as she can remember. She says she's broken and that she doesn't deserve the attention of someone like Tucker. Tucker feels he is broken and can't offer anything to a woman that they'd want.
While I wanted to slap Gracie at times, I understand why she stayed with Dex (biker guy). She didn't know anything else, she didn't have anyone else. He didn't let her drive or work. Hell he rarely let her eat as he always told her he "didn't do fat chicks."
Tucker was exactly what she needed, and he needed her too. She was the key to him finally healing.
I love the characters in these books and am so thrilled that there are 2 more to read!
I give this one 5 stars and am waiting (not so) patiently to read about Hunter and Jake!
Loved tucker's story more than I liked Cooper's. Tucker deserved to have someone see him as beautiful and more than just his scars and scary outside looks. On the inside he is the most caring sweet guy out there. Always trying to do what is right even if it gets him hurt. And Gracie is in trouble.
So Tucker steps in to help and falls in love. His brothers are wary of her and even try to get involved but Tucker he has none of that. He even stands up to them several times for her. Something Tucker doesn't normally do. Not only that but he tells gracie about his time overseas, how he got hurt and even about his tattoos. he encourages her to open herself up and do things for herself. Gracie helps tucker to stay calm and gets him smiling. She is his light, his guide to the calming storm.
gracie has had such a tough life. I was glad that her brother was actually in Old Towne and wanted to be in her life. Yay! that was encouraged by tucker. As she comes out of her scared shell, with Tuckers help we see a confident, beautiful girl emerge. she works hard and what is so beautiful is not only does she see past the scars of tucker and love him she is beautiful on the inside. When she gathers courage and feels safe her world is endangered but Tucker steps up to the plate.
boy does he step up and it almost costs him everything. His brothers I think begin to respect him and love him more after that. they get closer and realize that they may not always be around.
A wonderful story that has you see beauty and love where others don't look and shows that it isn't what you see but what's on the inside and your actions that matter. Tucker's are beautiful in all respects.
The Wilde One (Old Town Country Romance #2) by Savannah Young
3 Stars
The series continues with Tucker, the scary brother! Tuckers story and personality appealed more to me than his brother’s cooper in book #1. He is definitely more brooding and exciting. I loved the protective side of him, the way he sensed Gracie’s fear when he first saw her. They did have a lot in common, as she said they were ‘both broken’, and this gave them an instant connection.
A family of boys so close in ages usually grow up with a bit of rough and tumble, and they always have each others back. As brothers the Wilde’s are all very tame and proper which irritated me. There was a particular event where Dex hit Gracie in front of a bar full of people, at that point I would have expected all the brothers there to have been protective of her and beat the crap out of the guy, but no, they just held Tucker back and waited for the police. Granted waiting for the police would be the right thing to do, but it’s not the ‘hot’ thing to do, and it’s not very ‘Wilde’ is it!
There were some editing issues with this book, typo’s and such like but also the ‘love’ scene was very clumsily written. That particular scene was written from Tuckers POV and was very ‘listy’, he did this THEN he did that etc. it didn’t flow naturally for me and I wish it had been smoothed out in the editing.
I think I enjoyed the idea of this story more than the actual story, it lacked in umph and didn’t make me swoon.
The Wilde One is the achingly deep and beautiful tale of Tucker Wilde, U.S. Army veteran with a hellacious wound to his leg which has greatly damaged his self-esteem, causing him to see himself as a deformed monster. Meeting sweet, broken, and beautiful Gracie Parker is possibly the very best thing to ever happen to Tucker. During a slow night at the Haymaker, Gracie walks into the bar with her big, bad, and abusive boyfriend Dex and all hell breaks loose. Tucker vows then and there that he will protect his fragile Gracie at any cost. The beauty of two broken things is that they often complement each other wonderfully, and this is more than true of Tucker and Gracie.
The split POV offered once again by Young allows us to see into both of their minds' eyes to get a much better understanding of their perceptions of themselves and each other. It is truly amazing at how two people can see themselves in dim, similar lights and hold such high opinions of each other, which are also so similar that it's eerie.
From the beginning of the first book in the series, I have had a curiosity about Tucker due to his quiet demeanor and troubled past and I love that I now have the answers I've wanted. I think that this tatted up vet with the killer abs and endearing shyness may be my new BBF!!!

This was my first book by Savannah Young. The Wilde One is the second book in her series about the Wilde Brothers. Their occupations are bar owners, country singers and all around badasses. Although this is part of a series, I can honestly say that it can be read as a stand-alone. I have not read the first book and was able to piece everything together easily.
This book is about Tucker Wilde who is a damaged vet. He works at his family’s bar called Haymakers, he also plays guitar in their country band. He struggles to settle into civilian life. He has much to over come with a horrible leg injury and mental anguish brought on by his time in Iraq. Enter Gracie Parker who comes into Haymakers with her controlling "boyfriend". Tucker comes to her rescue, after being beaten and left by said boyfriend in the parking lot. The connection he has with her was instantaneous. He can't help but want to take care of Gracie. He'll stop at nothing to keep her safe.
This was a really good read. I couldn't put it down. I think if Mr. Sandman had left me alone, I probably would have finished this in a night.
Simply put, this was a sweet love story. I liked that they instinctively knew how to take care of one another. Gracie by giving Tucker the long awaited peace he'd been looking for since coming home and Tucker by being a safe haven for Gracie. This is one of those feel good stories that has you sighing happily when you finish reading it.
I just finished The Wilde One and I liked it. This is apart of a series so you do have to read the first one if you want a back story but it could be read as a stand alone. First one is the Wilde Riders so keep that in mind. This is one about Tucker Wilde, one of the Wilde brothers. He was in the army and had gotten hurt so he is dealing with alot of physical and mental problems. He is basically broken and going through alot. Gracie stumbles in with Dex at Tuckers family bar. He can tell she is not happy and is scared. Dex is not a very nice man and you can tell that by his demeanor. Tucker not meaning to cause problems tries to talk to Gracie but there are some ramifications. Dex beats her and leaves her in the dirt and that is where Tucker finds her. He wants to save her. They both have insecurities and they are both scared so will they be able to let their guard down? You will have to read and see...
I liked the story. It was very quick yet cute. It was really easy to follow and it was an enjoyable read. Tucker is a wounded man and to me those are the best ones to fall for. Gracie, I felt bad for her. No one should ever be hurt like that. I like that they were set together to heal each other. They were broken and healed each other.
I liked the secondary characters and cannot wait to see what happens in the series. I believe this is something that you will enjoy!!
Ooooohhhh Mmyyy Goooooddd!! I loved it!!! This was a BEAUTIFUL story! I wish it was a bit longer and that a few issues were a bit more detailed, but it was a gorgeous read anyway!
Both Tucker and Gracie are broken people, they've gone through a lot but they're strong and they're survivers, so when they find each other it feels like they've found their place on earth, their home. Finally. He has a completely different past than hers, his childhood was a really good one and he's always had his family with him. She, on the other hand, doesn't even know what a family is supposed to be like, and her self worth is just non existing because of it.with Tucker's love she's capable of dreaming a better life for herself and then she realize it doesn't have to be just a dream. In return, Tucker finds out he's not less of a man because he was injured in Iraq, he doesn't always have to be the guy that puts fear in everyone's mind with just one look... Grace makes him realize he's worthy of love and she gives it to him.
I loved the outline of the characters from the very first page of the book, so noe I know I love how Savannah writes and, therefore, I just HAVE to read her other books ;)
Beautiful story, don't miss the chance to read it!
So, I'm consistent... or predictable. Eh, whatever.
I was so wanting to read Tucker's story. I was hoping that his would be the last of the brothers' stories though. I think it would have drawn out his torment and self-loathing over his injury and brought more emotion into the story. That being said, there was enough emotion and torment with Gracie to pretty much carry throughout.
I have to admit that Tucker is my favorite. I think I have a thing for the "broken boys". I liked Gracie and Tucker together and I can see them being drawn together because of their "brokenness" and then being able to heal each other.
I just feel a little hollow with the whole Dex thing. Nothing else was said about it, but I would've liked to see a little justice for Gracie. Besides assault charges, how about kidnapping and rape?
As far as the series, I don't really know where its going. We don't know a whole lot about Hunter, so again, I am curious as to his story. Jake and Harley... *sigh* That is going to be a tough one. Unless Jake has some serious, and I mean serious issues, I don't know if he can be redeemed. Someone remind me I said that when I write the review for that one.
I enjoyed this book but not as much as the first one, Wilde Riders. I liked Tucker’s secondary role in the first book and I was looking forward to reading his story. It was cute, but at times I felt like the story kept dragging on. There were a lot of inner monologues, all revolving around Tucker’s injured leg and Gracie not feeling worth of Tucker’s cares. Although I understand this was probably meant to help the reader get inside the characters’ heads and feel their doubts and insecurities, I think it slowed the story down a little. At times I wished for a little more action. I was waiting for the proverbial bubble to burst, waiting for Dex to come back and cause some trouble, but after it happened and we got a little bit of tension and action, everything went way too fast and the book ending felt a little rushed. I think the relationship between Gracie and Shane should have been developed a little more, since he seemed to be an important part of her childhood before he left. All in all I enjoyed Tucker and Gracie’s story, the way these two broken people found love and strength in each other was sweet and heart-warming. I hope we’ll get to read more about them in the following books, but Riley and Cooper are still my favourite. I look forward to Jake’s story now.
What can you handle? How tough are you? You never know until you are tested. You know the whole Steel Magnolia thing.
Gracie is a pretty tough chick. She has had to be. She is with the uber groddy biker Dex. He is not a nice guy. And how she ended up with him is even worse. It has left her physically and emotionally scared.
Tucker has his own scars. He has been to war and back. And not exactly in one piece. He and his brothers are running their family bar. He doesn't usually get involved in other people's problems, but when he sees Gracie, he knows he must step up.
I don't know why she scares me so much. I want to know what she's thinking when she looks at me so deeply and thoughtfully.
Gracie and Tucker are drawn to each other but both are deeply distrustful. Not of each other, but of themselves and their ability to choose wisely. Can they believe in themselves enough to believe in each other?
Bombs took half of my leg and a piece of my sanity, but Gracie owns my heart and soul.
This is the second of the Wilde Brothers Series. They are loyal, sexy and oh so fun to read. This one was sweeter and ansgstier than the first. Yes, angstier is a word. Now. Don't worry......you can handle it.
What a way to be brought back to Old Town. Young develops this small town with a flourish that makes you feel like you were there. She also takes an exciting story and draws her readers right into it. I also love the epilogue. Young gives a sneak peek into the future without jumping too far ahead. She lets you know that there is a future without it being set in stone.
Many authors can make you feel for their characters or feel what their characters are feeling, but Young takes it to an entirely new level with this one. She slowly and subtly develops her characters in such a manner that they become part of your life. Their past is your past. By creating two main characters who are ‘broken’, irreparably so in some ways, but who fight for themselves and each other you feel drawn to them. She also switched perspectives between them showing you not only what is happening but how they feel about it. The way that Young writes allows you to feel their sorrow and pain, their joy and hope on a level unparalleled.
Overall this was a fantastic read that I raced through in a single sitting. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it to others and will definitely be reading more by this brilliant author in the future.
Please note that I received a complimentary copy of this work in exchange for an honest review.
This is my favorite so far in this series. This is Tucker's story. He is a wounded veteran who almost lost his leg. What is left of his leg is functional but not very pleasant to look at. He is damaged in body and soul. It is a horrible memory to recall how his best friend died while shielding him from more harm.
PTSD and now the repugnance he feels for his mauled body prevent Tucker from being able to lead a normal life. He has not been with a woman since he first left for the war in Afghanistan. In his mind, having a relationship with a woman will never happen because his body will repulse any woman.
Though physically intimidating due to his size and muscles, Tucker is all heart. His instinct to protect a young woman from her boyfriends abuse starts a chain of events that will forever change his life.
Protecting Gracie is how Tucker begins to associate with the first woman he has been attracted to in a long time. While protecting her, they begin to confide in each other and the rest is history as they say. This makes for an endearing and passionate story of two damaged lost souls, attracted to each each, each seeking the warmth that can only be found when they are together.
Great storyline with all the complications that come with ditching a biker boyfriend from hell!
