In "The Love We Give Away," Melanie Balinger explores the complexities of love and relationships through the intertwined lives of three individuals. This spicy romance novel delves deep into the idea that there’s much more to people than meets the eye, inviting readers to look beyond surface-level perceptions.

Balinger's writing captures the emotional nuances of each character. The relationships are thoughtfully developed, showcasing the struggles and triumphs that come with love in its many forms. The dynamics among the trio are particularly engaging, as they navigate their feelings, insecurities, and the challenges of forging a connection that transcends traditional boundaries.

What stands out in this story is the depth of characterization. Each character is richly portrayed, revealing their vulnerabilities and strengths as they confront their pasts and current desires. Balinger encourages readers to empathize with their journeys, reminding us that love often requires a deep level of understanding.

Overall, "The Love We Give Away" is a lovely, thought-provoking read that offers a fresh perspective on romance.

The Love We Give Away is a perfect example of what romantic erotica should be. The book is a slow burn, focusing on character development and story, with the first erotic scene not taking place for a good bit. But when it does finally catch fire, it really heats up with some of the most intense sex scenes that I've ever read.

But where the author really excels is in the romance part of romantic erotica. A lot of authors in this genre focus solely on the sex and give the characters emotional development short shrift. Not Melanie Balinger, her characters are fully formed and we get to know them and their hopes, desires and fears. There is a real honesty to her tale of three flawed people who are able to find happiness in a non-traditional relationship.
This is the first depiction of polyamory in a romance novel where I actually felt that it was describiIng real relationship. The author does a fantastic job of showing three people falling in love.

The book appears to leave open the possibility of a sequel. I hope there will be as i would love to spend more time with Melissa, Ben and Kyle.
