I had the honor of meeting Michelle at my church's women's retreat, it was such a blessing to hear her story in person and then to dig deeper into God's story in her life through this book.
I came across this book in a free bin and I'm so glad I did. It was a really amazing story of a women who had gone through so much and how God helped her untangle her life, which is something I so desperately need. This is an amazing story of redemption and is really inspiring when you're struggling in life and feel like you're too far gone. It shows that you're never too far gone. God will help you untangle your life.
Pillar’s vulnerable and raw voice, coupled with her honesty and southern charm, provide a quick read throughout some major mountain peaks and valleys in her life. She weaves in her Christian faith throughout the trials she experienced and offers a lot of wisdom and wonderful anecdotes along the way.
I LOVED this book. Right from the first page I was hooked. I had the pleasure of seeing and hearing Michele speak at my women's retreat. Her book was just as wonderful as seeing her in person.
I was given a copy of Untangled through the publisher and their partnership with Netgalley in exchange for my honest review which is as follows:
In Untangled Michele Pillar talks about the fears she felt as a child knowing when she had to hide from her Mother. When she was nine she defended God to her best fried Dede. And in 1985 she was finally able to forgive her Mom and their relationship shifted.
In 1973 when Michele was seventeen after getting pregnant by a man eight years her Senior she has an abortion a choice she felt was wrong from the start.
The message that resonates in this book is that hurting people hurt people but no matter what pain we've been through no matter what mistakes our lives can change and we can forgive with the help of the Lord.
