On The Mob: The Cuppacio Twins
With the Cuppacio family now settled into Jagoda Bay, the past of Chicago can no longer haunt them from the graves holding the men who made their childhoods hell. Now, it’s all about moving forward, elevating, and marriage. Choosing to unite with the Rinaldi Mafia brought fortune and requirements. In order for the men to have permanent seats at the Rinaldi table, they must marry, and their future brides must meet the standards set by the Rinaldi family. Unfortunately, marriage is not an objective as much as it is an obligation to some of the Cuppacio men.
Ezio has fulfilled his duty, and even though it took an overdose and a year of cat-and-mouse games, he is the first Cuppacio to meet the requirements. Now, the remaining Cuppacio men must complete the task at hand, but the crew’s twins have no desire to fulfill their obligations to the Rinaldi Mafia and have no plans to search for and secure women to wed.
Twin one, Metavello, has put zero thought into his future union. Metavello enjoys a good time and feels that because he understands women, his selected wife will be the best of the bunch. Sis you never disappoint and the way my mouth is on the floor. Baby this is about to get messy asf. I would’ve never guessed who Discover husband was 🤦🏽♀️. Nel and Vello know the rules to official be apart of the mob and both of they situations are complicated. Can’t wait for part 2 so I can see how this all plays out. Great job as always ‼️

Shaking My Head!!!
I absolutely love Lisa Austin’s books but this one right here is frustrating the hell out of me. I feel like she’s reaching to make this all make sense. From the start, I’ve been side eyeing every character. Starting with Pia. Now in the beginning she was willing to slut herself out because she had too much pride to take money from her best friend. So getting on your knees is the better option, really? Then Nel sees the girl is struggling but you wait a whole month to help her but you love her though? Then what’s with all of the mystery? We can’t find out Discovery’s mom’s name until almost the end of the book. Then Discovery damn near tell her mom that she would do anything to meet her father and you run into him and don’t even tell him about his daughter? How selfish can you be? Then Missy is ran through. Just a whole hoe out here. Then Ezio hasn’t learned anything. He still has wandering eyes and ready to cheat on Jisei. The kids Discovery and Nelz are the funniest and best thing about the book. The rest of them, can kick rocks. fo’nem!

Expectations Not Met
This book had so much potential, but the "are they cousins or not" storyline was too weird for me to get behind. As was the adultry trope. But since I have read all the books in the series, it didn't take me long to put all the pieces together about "Big Mama" and who she really was, and more importantly, who her husband is. And because of who he is, I know he already knows what she has been up to so while I will read the next book to hopefully get some closure, this storyline didn't hit for me like it was probably intended to. The whole implied cousin thing was just gross. Aside from that, this book was so grammatically incorrect that it gave me the ICK and second-hand embarrassment time and time again. Her afterword mentioned that she was trying to finish the series before the year ends- and I guess her rushing to meet a deadline editing was removed from the process. I really hate that for our urban authors because the potential is there for the overall presentation is lacking.

Can I just say I absolutely love the way Nel loves, it is so beautiful to see! He deserves this! The world is not ready for Neltz. I really enjoyed this book, so much more to come, and I’m ready! I can’t wait to read about Shio the book reader too! 😍

I like this authors writing style for the most part, it’s funny and thought provoking and heartwarming at times. The suspenseful elements are good.
That said at times I find the pace of these books to be slow with the redundancy of certain sections, drawing out the inevitable confusions, long drawn out backstories about characters clothing, cars and other random thoughts and dropping stories in the middle of the main story that seem out of place or ill timed (like Scar and Teo random story when we could have just got to the revealation of Vello and Big Mama) . And then the endings are rushed.
I figured this story and plot out earlier on in the story and just wanted the author to get to the point . As a lover of mystery and suspense writing, timing is everything and if it’s too much mystery it can otherwise ruin a good story.
In short , I will finish out the series, I’m in deep now. Lol, but I now know how to get through these stories and set a pace that works for my reading style.
I feel like this authors earlier works and work in the Winter crest series was much better than this series..

I loved the Taboo/forbidden trope this story has. When the author said trust her in the beginning of the book I read with an open mind. She did NOT disappoint! The story line and characters were so well written. The twins are in the running to be my favorites. The story has a lot of things revealed and I love how some of the details from previous books connects to this one. You definitely have to pay attention or you might miss something.
Highly recommend but I can’t wait until the next month! 🤞🏾 hopefully it comes out earlier in October instead of late. 💖

Ehh .. I’m going to try to finish the series.
It was a lot of unnecessary point of views in my opinion. I was skipping pages to get to the end. Pia issss hmm idk. Nel is funny but i won’t lie that relationship he trying to form is a little weird even if not related. I do think he goes too far with the jokes sometimes. I kinda figured who Discovery was partnered with.. I’m really not seeing any character development when it comes to the boys work ethic. I agree with Don, they’re dumb to me…

I know a cliffhanger hate to see author Lisa Austin coming! A lot of clues were dropped throughout the book alluding to cliffhanger, but I still was like wtf! Mama Patty didn’t say one word the entire book, then BOOM! she seen her bd and found her voice 😂😂 My only question is … is Discover clueless to The Don’s sexuality or did she go into this marriage knowing she was gonna be The Don’s beard? Excited for part 2!

Also I like the way Lisa wrote this book. The plot is lowkey a slow burn & is slowly being built & webs are slowly being spun just to give us the ending that she did. I cannot wait to see how this continues & ends.

I don’t know which twin i love the most but one thing i do know is that it’s some pressure applied in book 1 and I can’t wait to see how it unfolds. From Discovery all the way to Jr. even the missions i look forward too..i love this mafia series! Lisa you just have that gift sis keep goin!

Well worth the wait!
I felt like it was years until this book was released. lol. But then I waited a little while longer so I can go straight to the next! So worth it!! Great read!! I just knew Lisa was going to have me second guessing myself on the outcome!! I would never have guessed that he was her dad!!! Such a great read!!!

Page Turner 🔥🌶️
Whew this was a page turner for sure. Jisei & Ezio’s books drove me insane with the constant back and forth but this spinoff with the twins, drama, secrets, and spice…I’m so glad I’m not reading this in real time to avoid the wait. The way I’m eating these books up though I can only hope that Shio’s book(s) are done soon.

What an ending. Definitely not what I expected. Didn’t expect that to be Pia’s dad and I didn’t expect that to be the Don’s wife. Boy is this about to get MESSY.
