Roger Garaudy was born in Marseilles in 1913. He joined the French army in 1939 but in 1940 he was detained in a Vichy concentration camp in Algeria until his release in 1943. Elected to the National Assembly in 1945, he later served as Deputy Speaker and Senator. Since 1962 he has devoted himself to university teaching and his writings on political theory and the philosophy of civilizations. For many years one of France's leading Marxist theoreticians, he has become increasingly attracted by Islamic teachings and civilization, and in 1982 became a Muslim.

In this study, which is equally critical of anti-semitism and political Zionism, he considers the fundamental problems presented by the policies of the State of Israel. He examines the questions of historical continuity between the Biblical Land of Israel and the present Zionist state and he considers the claim of the Zionists that God's "promise" to Abraham implies their divine right over Palestine. This leads him to an analysis of the Zionist basis of Israel's domestic and foreign policies and he concludes with a constructive proposal for peace in the Middle East based on all UN resolutions, including the original 1947 decision on the partition of Palestine, to be internationally guaranteed.

Garaudy is controversial for his anti-zionist views. He converted to Islam in 1982.

Born to Catholic and Jewish atheist parents in Marseille, Garaudy converted at age 14 and became a Protestant. During World War II, Garaudy joined the French Resistance, for which he was imprisoned in Djelfa, Algeria, as a prisoner of war of Vichy France. Following the war, Garaudy joined the French Communist Party. As a political candidate he succeeded in being elected to the National Assembly and eventually rose to the position of deputy speaker, and later senator.

Garaudy lectured in the faculty of arts department of the University Clermont-Ferrand from 1962-1965. Due to controversies between Garaudy and Michel Foucault, Garaudy left. He later taught in Poitiers from 1969-1972.

Garaudy remained a Christian and eventually re-converted to Catholicism during his political career. He was befriended by one of France's most prominent clerics of the time, the Abbé Pierre, who in later years supported Garaudy, even regarding the latter's most controversial views.

In 1970, Garaudy was expelled from the Communist Party following his outspoken criticism of the 1968 Soviet invasion of Czechoslovakia.

Garaudy converted to Islam in 1982 after marrying a Palestinian woman, later writing that "The Christ of Paul is not the Jesus of the Bible," and also forming other critical scholarly conclusions regarding the Old and New Testaments. As a Muslim he adopted the name "Ragaa" and became a prominent Islamic commentator and supporter of the Palestinian cause. He was married to Salma Taji Farouki.

Garaudy wrote more than 50 books, mainly on political philosophy and Marxism.

كتاب ممتاز، يشرح نشأة الصهيونية، والفرق بينها وبين اليهودية،
وتقاطع أهداف وأصل الصهيونية مع اللاسامية.
أنصح بقراءة التطهير العرقي مع هذا الكتاب، إذ كليهما يعطيان صورة شاملة لنازية الصهيونية، وبطرح علمي وتاريخي بعيدًا عن رأي كاتبه.

This book is an excellent study of Political Zionism, Garaudy made it clear that the enemy of humanity is not the Jew, Judaism, or spiritual Zionism. But rather, a specific kind of Zionism which is political, colonialist and racist in nature. Political Zionism was not born out of Judaism, but rather it is a western form of nationalism akin to 1930s Germany. Garaudy debunked the claim that Zionism has a valid claim for Palestine from historical and biblical perspective. He also cited various sources of the complicity of political Zionism with German Nazi, for Garaudy, Zionism and the anti-Semite are "twin", they both shared the same goal, to eject the Jews living in various country, both of them shared the belief that the Jew cannot assimilate in country where they reside. After deceit, war, and violence, political Zionism given birth to a country with apartheid policies, aggressively expansionist, and conducting constant criminal state terrorism.

Anti-kapitalist olduğu yetmezmiş gibi bir de utanmadan anti-siyonist olan ve bu uğurda eserler veren Roger Garaudy'nin siyonizmi farklı açılardan ele aldığı, son derece bilgilendirici ve referans alınabilecek kaynak kitabı. Tarihsel bir perspektiften sonra Garaudy, gittikçe günümüze geliyor ve İsrail'e, İsrail'in kuruluşuna ve kurulduktan sonra izlediği politikalara, bütün bunların da bölgedeki ve dünyadaki sonuçlarına değiniyor.

Belirttiğim gibi, eski bir komünistken sonradan müslüman oluyor Roger Garaudy ve özellikle Batı'da dokunulmaz olan bir konuyu eleştirel açıyla ele alıyor. R. Garaudy's landmark work must first be celebrated for its sheer courage, tenacity and unrelenting commitment to the truth. Simply put, it is a work wherein common sense and plain language prevail.

Garaudy takes the salient points from Political Zionism and presents them, often supported by direct citations from the founding members of Political Zionism and their confidants, in clear, historical narrative. You must keep in mind that this work appeared at a time when publicising any Zionist atrocity was [quite literally] a heinous, 'Anti-Semitic', hate crime . Therefore, I did find that the chapter headings in the work seemed sightly forced i.e. the work reads like one continuous essay without the need for any chapter breaks. However, I had to remind myself that Garaudy was not only arguing against political Zionism but was also publicising the crimes of Israel; the work not only presents the Zionist case for Israel but presents a cogent case AGAINST Israel.

Garaudy must also be applauded for maintaining a truly academic and objective bearing throughout the book which protects him from charges of 'Anti-Semitism'.

This work is a must read for anyone who has more than an elementary understanding of the Zionist occupation of Palestine and looks to find one of the most universal cases against Israel that is as relevant today as the day it was published.

من أهم وأروع الكتب التي أنصح جداً بقراءتها. الكتاب يبحث في جذور الصهيونية السياسية وينتقدها بأدلة ودراسات عميقة ويسهب في الالمام بتاريخها واساطيرها وفضائعها ووسائلها واهدافها ويركز على خروجها عن اليهودية التي بدورها تُعد من أكبر المناهضين لها ولإساءتها وتحويرها رسالتها وتعتبرها مسيئة لها. وينتقد كذلك اللاسامية. بالإضافة لتحليلات على المستوى الداخلي والخارجي، كما يستعرض فوارق واحصائيات مهيلة وتصريحات مستفزه ويحمل نظريات هادفه ومقنعة. ينصف بدوره القضية الفلسطينية ويشملها ويتطرق للقضايا العالمية المرتبطه بها بشكل مفصل. باختصار هو كتاب لابد من قرائته

Bize temel olarak İsrail-Filistin konusunda birçok gerçeği yüzümüze çarpan, İsrail'in günümüzdeki gücünü nasıl kazandığını ve koruduğunu gösteren ve bu devleti kuran kişilerin ve siyonistlerin sahip olduğu düşünce yapısını bize açığa çıkaran, inanmış Yahudiler ile Siyonistleri birbirinden ayırarak kendi halindeki insanları zan altında bırakmayan muhteşem bir eser.

Kitabı okuması akıcı ve kişiyi kendine çekiyor. Yazar konuları birbirleriyle başarıyla bağlamış ve çeşitli alıntılarla desteklemiş. Yazar konularını anlatırken konuya pek vakıf olmayanlar içinde altyapıyı kendi içinde oluşturuyor.

Kitabı bu kadar çok sevmemin nedeni, her sayfasının dolu dolu olması ve meydana gelmiş olayların gizli saklı değilde açıkça gerçekleştirilmesinin sebebini bizim ses çıkaramamız ve politik ilişkiler olduğu göstermesiydi. Yazar , siyonistlerin Filistin topraklarındaki iddia ettikleri hakları ve efsanelerin aslında temeli olmayan, Yahudileri bir arada tutmak için uydurulmuş söylemler oldugu gösteriyor. Kısaca bu söylemlere değinmem gerekirse;

+ Filistinin toprağında hiç kimsenin olmadığı, çöl gibi boş bir arazi olduğu söyleminin Siyonistlerin bu topraklarda hak iddialarını güçlendirmek olduğunu kanıtlarıyla gösterir. Filistin boş değildir çünkü 31 Aralık 1922 de yapılan sayımda 663.000 Arap, 83.000 Yahudi yaşadığını göstermektedir. 1937'de İngiliz Parlamentosu'na sunulan rapora göre, 30 milyon narenciye üretimi için Filistin 15 milyon sandıkla başı çekiyordu. O zaman bu sözde çölde bu narencileri kimler nasıl yetiştirebiliyor?

+ Siyonistler Filistin topraklarında hak iddia edip , İbranilerin bu toprakların ilk sahibi olduğunu ileri sürerler. Fakat tarihi gerçekler bize gösteriyor ki İbraniler Filistin'e geldiğinde yerli Kenanlıları, Amonileri, Moabileri ve Edonileri bulmuşlardı. Yani bu da Siyonistlerin yalanlarindan bir tanesiydi.

+ Siyonistler Yahudiliği bir ırkmış gibi sunar. Hatta bu düşünce için savaşirlar. Lakin gözden kaçan veya üstü kapatılmaya çalışılan gerçek; VI. yüzyılda Arabistanlıların kurdukları Yahudi Devletinin, Çinlileşen Çin Yahudilerinin, VII.yüzyılda Hazer Türk Yahudi Devleti'nin ve birçok kavimden insaların Yahudi olduğudur ve bunların İbranilerle bir kan bağı yoktur.

+ Diğer büyük yalan ise, Filistinlilerin dedelerinin Yahudilere topraklarına sattığı ve İsrail'in böyle büyüdüğü yalanıdır. Birleşmiş Milletler Umumi Heyeti 29 Kasım 1947'de Filistini bölme kararı almıştır. Bu tarihte Yahudiler Filistin topraklarının %5.6 sına sahiptiler. Siyonist devlet kurulduktan sonra Filistin toprağının %56 sını ele geçirdi ve bu oran İsrail-Arap Savaşının %80 e çıktı ve bölgeden 700.000 Filistinli kovuldu.

İsrail'i kurulma sebebine gelirsek eğer, Süveyş kanalını korumak ve bölgedeki petrol yataklarının koruyuculuğunu yapmaktı. ABD için en güvenilir üslere sahip bölgedeki tek ülkedir. Bu sebeplerden ve Siyonist lobinin yüksek gücünden dolayı İsraile her yıl para yardımları yapılır. Buna Siyonistlerin bu iddialarina inanan Hristiyanların da çanak tutması üzücüdür. ABD askeri envanterinde bulunmayan silahlar İsrail Devleti'nin elinde görüldüğü olur. Aslında ABD silahların testlerini İsrail askerlerine yaptırır ve geri dönüslere göre eksikliklerini giderir ve geliştirirler.

Yazılacak daha çok şey var aslında lakin özet geçecek olursam; Siyasi Siyonizm kurucusu Theodor Herzl ile alevlenen bu süreç geçmişte bircok soruna neden oldu ve olmaya devam edecek. Tanrı inanci olmayan bu adam Siyonist birliğinin dini gücünü de ardına almak için kendilerine önerilen Arjantin, Uganda gibi topraklarin arasından Filistini secti ve Yahudiligi bir din değilde halk olduğu iddiasini ileri sürerek savundu.

The Middle East conflict should be on all of our minds. This book outlines a premise that invalidates political zionism as colonial, nationalistic and racist, but supports spiritual zionism, the Judaic traditions, and the right for both Israelis and Palestinians to co-exist. It assumes knowledge of historical events so if you are no expert, as I am not, plan on referencing wikipedia a lot.
