Mitch: Moving into our forever home should be a happy time. But when my fiancé, Dave, starts talking about the house being haunted, I have to laugh. Sure, I notice my slippers always appearing whenever I need them, or my cat mug mysteriously ready for me each morning, but I figure I’m just getting forgetful at the ripe old age of twenty-five.
Nic: Dave is cheating on his beautiful fiancé. I shouldn’t interfere, but I can’t help it. Mitch is the most gorgeous, loving person I’ve ever met—or haunted, whatever—so when I see him getting cheated on, I decide that murder is the best solution. I just accidentally kill Mitch instead.
A love story between two ghosts who find haunting other people to be the best kind of foreplay.
An MM paranormal romance featuring a cheating fiancé, an “innocent” ghost, and a loveable guy who longs to find a place to call home.
Nic, the friendly ghost, is done seeing Dave, the dirtbag cheat on his beautiful fiancé, Mitch. His revenge plan backfires... instead of pushing Dave down the stairs, he shoves Mitch. 😭
This was fluffy fun. Mitch and Nic teaming up to mess with Dave and his dates made me giggle. I absolutely love how they exposed Dave to the medium. 🤣 The ending with Jackson, Pete, and bacon/biscuit hit me right in the feels. Mitch was crying; Nic was crying. hell, I was crying. I loved this sweet lil story. Thank you for the ARC! Release date 12/27.
Mitch and Dave only kiss at the beginning, so no worries about the MCs hooking up with other people. Dave, the dirtbag cheats on page with his secretary. No sharing. They do like to watch their kinky new roommates tho 🥵
From the very start Regitse Liljadorff takes me on an adventure. Love the tropes in this one. I’ve managed to feel all the feels, and I love that 💛
My heart ached for Mitch, he deserved so much more. He has such a sunshine personality, and the shitty boyfriend didn’t deserve him at all. Luckily Nic fixes that part…
Nic, protective and caring, I just loved this character so much 😍 The ghost who loves reading and deserves love in his “life”
If you like the tropes, I highly recommend you check this story out! I need more people to join my #Jacksonneedshisownstory team 😇
It was a zero angst, fluffy romance with two ghosts.
I felt like everything was a bit too easy after they… met. They fall in love but we don’t really see it? Or at least I didn’t feel like we did. It seemed like they hung out, read books together and that’s about all we see them do. They haunt Mitch’s ex and he leaves. He brings in a medium who promises not to have them harmed or their room touched. Like… you’re telling me you’re going to put a mansion up for sale but the library cannot be open or disturbed in any way and since it’s a historical room that’s just… fine? No one cares? Ok. I guess.
They constantly use the ex-fiancé’s credit card to buy THOUSANDS of books and because they delete the emails showing the Amazon purchases, it’s fine and he’ll never notice?
I honestly wasn’t a fan of how Nic and Mitch finally met and would have preferred Nic to show him first or something other than, oops. You’re dead. Hi. I love you.
Jackson and his pet were entertaining. They also use his money to buy more books. How does literally NO one notice this much spending on their credit cards?!?!
Again, everything felt so effortless and too convenient for me. I did receive an advanced copy and this is my honest review.
This was a fabulous story with such a uniquely concept!
Mitch the ghost has new live people living in his house, one who dislikes greatly, Dave, one he becomes rather fond of and wants to protect, Nic. A freak accidental leads to Nic’s untimely demise but this leads him to Mitch!
I love that the ghosts mess with Dave and take serious liberties with his credit card!
Aww, this was cute! Though I do think everything felt a bit too easy, but if you want a fluffy, ghost-y romance that's easy and no stakes, do check it out!
Well, what a delight this was, a ghost story that's not scary! Shortish, maybe novella length, not too sure, but packed with fun, delight, and friendly spookiness, but also a little bit of nastiness curtesy of one mean, arrogant human. A thoroughly enjoyable ghost story, I just loved it!
This is a super sweet, low angst book about Mitch and his d-bag fiancé who move into a house which, unbeknown to them, is already occupied by Nic the ghost, who died there 40 years ago.
Dave is a waste of space and does not deserve the beautiful Mitch. Nic sees this and decides to haunt him as punishment for all the ways he mistreats him.
The relationship between Nic and Mitch develops before Mitch is even aware of it, with Nic constantly at Mitch’s side in his library sharing his love of books. He’s also constantly doing sweet things for Mitch like making sure his slippers are always where he needs them, or his favourite mug is always ready for him. While Mitch is unaware of Nic’s presence, he feels settled and at home for the first time in his life.
After a murder attempt that doesn’t go to plan, Mitch finally meets Nic as a ghost himself. Their relationship develops from there where they continue their love of reading together and spend time messing with Dave. They also develop a shared enjoyment of voyeurism which is both entertaining and hot as hell.
I really enjoyed this book and devoured it in a single sitting. It had me swooning, laughing and grinning like an idiot.
Vibes: Paranormal romance Low Angst Forced Proximity Haunting together Accidental murder Bonding over books HEA
Rating: 4⭐️ Spice: 2.5🌶️
I received an advance review copy of this book and this is my honest, unbiased review
The blurb was so catching I couldn’t resist this read, even though I already had too many arcs!
At first sight, Dave and Mitch seem to be a happy couple. Living in their new big mansion with everything you need. Until you zoom in on their everyday lives. No endearments, no hello or goodbye kisses, the love yous are coming only from one side.
One of the two handles everything, the other accepts it mellowly, one has all the money, and the other does not. Oh, it’s even getting worse! Those things I’m not gonna spoil.
Nic, the house ghost, is smitten with Mitch, he finds him just adorable, always with his nose in books. Like us, Nic first thought they were a happy couple until he witnessed their daily lives. It’s quite loveless, and oh no, (again) it’s getting worse! Dave is a sneaky cheater! There is no way Nic accepts Mitch getting cheated on.
Revenge! For Mitch’s sake! Ha!
Sadly, or was it luckily? Nic’s revenge results in Mitch’s death instead of Dave’s. Spoiler: it was luckily!
What both ghosts discover about Dave is beyond their imagination!
Revenge! Ha! double revenge!
My goodness, what a great read. I loved the whole concept. I adored Mitch and Nic. I loved the subtle, endearing, fun moments they were so precious! I loved the way it all worked out. The writing was flawless, entertaining, and attractive!
This was such a heartwarming book. The emotions in this book made me want to cry. I laughed at the antics of Nic the ghost.
Dave was a jerk and honestly he definitely deserves what he got. He was a coward and didn't deserve such a soft soul like Mitch.
Mitch was so innocent. He wanted to feel loved and cherished. To know that what he wanted and liked were thought of. I wanted to wrap him in a hug and never let anything happen to him. He was a sweet and innocent soul.
Nic was the perfect ghost. He was lonely and wanted to know what being accepted and loved was all about.
Nic and Mitch were the most beautiful and perfect couple. They deserved a HEA.
Such a cute story! I'm usually not into stories where a ghost is the main character, but I thought this was well done and I like how it was handled. Really enjoying this authors work!
My first ghostly love story! This delightful little gem is a low-drama, high-sweetness adventure featuring Mitch and his total d-bag fiancé who buy a house that’s already home to Nic, a friendly ghost who’s been hanging around for 40 years. Before Mitch even knows it, he’s got a ghostly buddy! Nic’s all about sharing his bookish vibes, making sure Mitch's slippers are always at the ready, and getting his favorite mug prepped like a perfect barista. It’s like having a live-in ghostly roommate, and Mitch finally feels at home!
Nic's had it up to here with Dave, the cheating jerk who’s breaking Mitch’s heart. Nic decides to teach him a lesson! But whoops! Instead of sending Dave flying down the stairs, he accidentally sends Mitch tumbling instead. This book is a fluffy joyride! Watching Mitch and Nic plot to mess with Dave and his dates had me snickering like a mischievous imp, their ghostly antics are pure gold! And let’s not forget their cheeky shared enjoyment of voyeurism—it's both a riot and sizzling hot! The ending with Jackson & Pete hit me right in the feels. Mitch was a blubbering mess, Nic was shedding ghostly tears, and honestly, I was right there with them. I adored this sweet little tale! I devoured this book in one glorious sitting, and it had me swooning, laughing, and grinning.
Loved the premise of this book. Accidental murder? I had to know.
Nic and Mitch’s story is absolute ghostly fun. They are both so sweet, but oh so mischievous once they get together.
Most people strive to find their forever person in life, but what if they are found in death instead? Nic was prepared to wait until Mitch lived a nice long life but fate had other plans when Nic accidentally kills Mitch.
Most people would be po’d to find out they had been unalived, especially by accident, but Mitch? His life really begins in death and it was a joy to see Nic and Mitch’s relationship grow and what they get up to with their alive house tenants.
I especially loved who moves in at the end and how much they were a part of Nic and Mitch’s afterlives. That journey was bittersweet for sure.
I think this may be my favorite of Regitse’s so far, <3.
4.5 - This was just so cute! Could the afterlife be any better than to be cozied up with a hottie & reading a ton of books for eternity? While this wasn't perfect, the vibes were spot on and I just loved it so much! Nic was adorable and so was Mitch! I liked that Mitch started to realize on his own that his fiance Dave was perhaps not whom he wished to spend his life. And he realized that the reason he felt so comfy in that mansion...sigh, I just melted. I enjoyed the revenge plot, how it took place, as well as what happened after. And sweet Bacon was adorable too! I can't wait to read more of these ghostie love stories - never knew I needed them in my life, but I do!
I received a complimentary copy and am leaving this review voluntarily.
OH...... WOW........ Spectral Payback is Absolutely Brilliant such a cute and adorable story could not put it down Nic a protective and caring ghost who loves reading but is so very lonely that is until Mitch who's so sweet and full of sunshine moves in with is horrible boyfriend who doesn't deserve him but Nic soon fixes that part ......after the accident Mitch now a ghost meets Nic and their relationship develops from their love how they mess and torment Dave the horrible boyfriend to get him to leave then Pete and Jackson move in love these two and they realise they love to watch them voyeurism which is so hot simply fantastic recommend so much.
This is a very sweet novella that is based on a rather unusual idea. Mitch and Nic meet while only one of them is alive and you can get much of the idea just from the blurb. The thing is that Regitse Liljadorff does a marvelous job of balancing things between sweetness, humor, murder/death, romance, etc. that I found this to be a marvelous short read. There are also some beautiful drawings of the characters in the book and I found it nice to see what they looked like. Lilijadorff is a new to me author and I will be looking for more of her work.
This was cute and cheesy and fluffy. Mitch is engaged to Dave who is horrible. They move into a new house together but the house comes with a ghost, Nic.
Nic falls in love with Mitch and hates how Dave treats him so he decides to kill Dave but instead it’s Mitch who dies. Now Mitch is a ghost so Nic can actually meet him.
And then they get some decent housemates in the form of a gay couple in an open relationship.
"I was crying too. No one had ever loved me before. Mitch loved me. He actually loved me. I was his home and he was mine. Forever"
Can a ghost story that includes accidental murder be called cute 🤔 screw I'm going with cute because that's what this was, a cute fun read that gives us all hope that hopefully you can still find your soul mate even In the after life and even get up to a little mischief.
This book has left me speechless, I don’t even know what to write in this review. I don’t think it was my type of story but at the same time i couldnt put it down. the story was really Interesting and though i didnt care much for the smut I liked the dynamic between the two and the drama
Ok, this was adorable. Mitch and Nic were so good together, and I loved how they used their powers for good. Honestly, I loved everything about this story except for Dave, and he got what he deserved and provided comic relief in the meantime. No angst, low heat, HEA.
This book was a fast intense read. I couldn’t put it down! I was absolutely fascinated with the plot. The characters were so freaking adorable. I loved nic and Mitch they were perfect together
This was too cute! Nice and Mitch were a fun time and their meet cute was one of the most unique ones I've seen so far. I had a great time reading this is preparation for book 2 but I've enjoyed everything I've read so far by Regitse.
