Monica cursed under her breath; she didn’t like the fact that King had a hold on her body the way that he did. Their bodies had fit together as if they were made for each other. ...she had allowed herself to fall in love with a serial killer, a man with obvious mental problems, and if she didn’t end the case soon, one of them would surely meet their demise at the hands of the other. Driven by the need to right the rape of her nine-year-old sister at the hands of drug lords, Monica Deitrich for a decade trained to work in law enforcement. Hired by the DEA, she receives her first Infiltrate and bring down King Kochese, a ruthless killer who controls the Texas drug trade. She soon finds her job is not so simple. Never mind the danger of working undercover – the simple fact is that King Kochese is a virile, complicated man who she quickly falls for.
Lord, I am sorry for sleeping on this author. When I read the comment and review for this book. I decide to give this author chance to read his book. This is kind of books that I loved. It has more actions and drama. It's also piece a puzzle and learning experience. I have to look up the definition of Tainted.
Tainted is reminds me of Scarface or honor movies. Tainted by Blacc Topp is a amazing and crazy read. This is my first time reading this author. He did a good job. His writing skill is crazy and good.
King Kochese Mills is male version of Yvonne from Shyt List and Nicole or Nikki from Deranged series. Each of them are examples of Tainted. Each of them want to be love from their family and peers. When people don't want love them and turn their back on them, they are becoming a tainted and deranged.
I'm looking forward to reading the part 2 & 3 for this book. I want to read more books from this author.
TAINTED Writing is his gift! By Faye Wilkes - March 18, 2014 Well I just finished reading "TAINTED" by Novelist Blacc Topp and let me just say I didn't think it was possible for him to get better as a writer but he has done just that! His story telling and writing skills surpassed my expectations. I knew he was an excellent writer when I read the prologue of his very first book! His writing stood out and I have been an avid reader and supporter every since! BlaccTopp took this book to an entirely different level than he did with his previous work and anyone who read the Hustle Chronicles Trilogy knows this author is gifted with the pen so you won't be disappointed! The story flowed with ease and the revelations revealed throughout were woven together by nothing more than skills and knowing how to hold the readers interest! He accomplished that as this book has everything in it! I felt both pity and disgust for King! I wanted to love and hate the man at the same time, but the sickness displayed by King had me shudder and all I could say was this is one sick bastard! When I thought I had seen the extreme from this guy, he would do something else that had me cringing and shaking my head! You had tragedy, heartbreak, despair, betrayal, disloyalty, hope and craziness all between the pages of this one book! The fact that I feel I can share this book with relatives of all ages (mature) and colleagues at work is also a big plus! This was nothing but raw talent at its best! Congratulations BlaccTopp!
Okay so I gotta preface this with how I am not the target audience for this book 😂 I read it because I personally know the author and that's exciting. So lord knows this is not an impartial review on either end.
This book is not boring by any means. It gets rolling fast and that plot carries you along without mercy. The pacing stays consistent and it is very easy to read.
The characters are mostly interesting. I think the mc is the least interesting person here, but most everyone is fully fleshed out with backstories and motives and what they do makes sense for who we are shown they are.
The sex is dynamic. I did skip some because I'm just not that reader, but what I did read was different and varied and would probably have been awesome if I was here for that.
This book is also incredibly violent. Many of the murders are on page, detailed, and difficult to read for their sheer brutality. It leaves you at the end feeling no regrets for how it all plays out, which is kind on the soul.
It is not realistic. I can liken it to Fast and the Furious that way. Action packed and emotional, don't bring that pesky realism here to ruin it 🤣 Your disbelief will need to be suspended, or else you'll have to not think that hard about it. Just have fun.
The author has some favorite phrases that get repeated. The editor should have caught that.
So yeah. Does what it says on the tin. If you want a dark cop vs. criminals go go go kind of joy ride, this book will do. It is very gratuitous. Sex, cars, expensive houses, all the works. Immerse yourself and enjoy the fantasy ❤️
I really enjoyed this book. I did not know what was going to happen next. When I thought that one thing was coming it never did. The author showed the villain Kochese had a soft side when it came to Money. She brought out his sensitivity well just a little bit. He was sprung. At the same time he could turn it on and off at the drop of a hat. He was a cold blooded killer. Monica was good at her job as an undercover agent. There were times when I wasn't sure where her loyalty lied. I look forward to completing the series #EyeCU Recommended
This crew all came with their secrets. Shady upbringings, untold witness to murder, lies, deceit, bred psychopaths ..they're all here. The author paints a picture that at times makes you sympathetic toward the evil then snatches you back to the reality of his depravity.
This is my first book from this author and I enjoyed it. I didn't care too much for the abrupt ending, but that may have been because there was a going to be a sequel coming. The character development was good and the plot was believable. Good read.
For the most part, it has been quite a while since I have read well written, urban book by an indie author. This is one of them. Tainted starts off with the main character, thirteen year old Monica Deitrich. Monica grows up with drug addicted parents and her little sister Jazzy. While away on a church retreat, Monica receives devastating news that alters the course of her young life. This book quickly progresses, Monica now an adult graduates and joins the DEA. Her first case fresh out of the box is an undercover agent tasked to bring down Dallas' most notorious dealer King Kochese. Monica plays her role so superbly that she doesn't even realize she's fallen for King. King Kochese: born of an addict himself, Kochese sets out to become somebody in a world of nobodies and druggies. At a young age as well, Kochese runs away from home and is taken in under the wings of Michael Ross, one of Dallas' large criminal. This book contained many plot twist and turns, that kept me on the edge of my seat. The story flowed seamlessly as the plot progressed. Not only was this book untypical of the average urban book, the elements of surprise betrayals, loyalty, hope and dysfunctional crazy characters kept me turning pages to see what would happen next. This was my first read from this author but it most certainly won't be the last. I highly recommend this FIVE star novel.
Monica Deitrich goes undercover to brind down the ruthless killer and drug dealer King Kochese. King Kochese is just trying to stay about ground and out of prison. Something happens when these two meet and sparks begin to fly. However, what happens when the truth comes out in the open and all is said and done?
KUDOS!!! I was all into this book. I was like a good movie that you just don't want to turn off. This is my first book by Blacc Topp but it definitely won't be my last. This author truly knows how to tell a story and I have just added him to my list of authors that I will continue to support and read.
I read Novelist Blacc Topp's first book, "The Hustle Chronicles", and absolutely loved it. But TAINTED though, wow!
You know when you come across a writer that just has it. Well, Novelist Blacc Topp is that kind of writer. You can't pigeon hole him. He is in a league of his own. He demonstrates versatility and range as a writer. He is not your every day, ordinary, or mundane writer.
His writing is rich, vivid and realistic, that I made the mistake of reading TAINTED before going to sleep. His incredibly written novel left me in suspense and at the edge of my seat.
I was gifted this book via an online book club. It was my first read by this author & I couldn't put it down! Great story line that pulls you into the story of an undercover agent trying to bring down a psychopathic, deranged, serial killer who happens to be a notorious drug dealer - King Kochese. However, this story was so well written the author has you sympathizing with King Kochese & hoping he doesn't get caught. I was captivated until the very end. I will definitely be checking out more books by Blacc Topp.
Omg this book was straight fire. It was good from the first page to the last. That nigga King Kochese was one sick son of a bitoch. This book had me like Omg no he didn't do that.
