I so wanted to love this series. But it feels like it's all over the place and doing too much! If you're a skim reader it's a pretty decent read but there's alot going on and it doesn't all tie in well.
These are so good but also confusing. Each book simultaneously focuses on 1 or 2 issues TOO much, while also introducing more information that never gets addressed. I like the books, I can't put them down, I'm just confused. Also, they're listed on Amazon as a trilogy, but if you do a deeper Google search, there will be a 4th book, which is good, because there's still so much to wrap up. Looking forward to book 4.
This feels like it’s being written without a specific ending in mind, so the plot is a little rambling. I think it has an interesting world and great characters, but I’m three books in and not a whole lot has happened. That being said, I will definitely keep reading this series going forward.
I liked this one much better than the previous ones.
I really don't know how to explain it, but I want you to know that I really like them, it's just that it is a lot of information that is not explained and it really messed everything else up.
I love the characters. I hate the miscommunication. Although FINALLY they resolved some issues, but still they haven't formed the bond. I guess the next book will have more entanglements that will cover up all the issues that have not been addressed on the first three books. Like: - let's just say it. Nel's sister is the daughter of the uncle. I saw that coming on book one. - are we really dropping more bonds? Like.... You have had three books to assess one and now there are two more? - the timeline: I just feel lazy giving the details, but Shade told Nel to stay alive for 112 days. It hadn't been three days? Perhaps a week? And when she goes to visit Shade to the temple (hospital) she says it had been 100 days. Then, at the battle field she said it had been 90 days. So.... It kinda bothers me. - The Un - are the 77 gods the same as the sketchy ones that create the drugs and wanted to kill Nel? - The uncle found her on a slave market. Was that after she spent time with the Un? - Is Jessica the Un? - WTF are the strings!!!? Blessings? - She is always about to confess her own nature, that she accepted herself as .... Idk as what because she is always cut off. Is she a goddess? Because it appears she is powerful? - what is the ascension? When does it happen? I mean.... Come on! Is the third book and we know nothing about it - Is coral the mate of the evil king's wyvern? - What is the thing Svenn found out at the end of book two that is related to her birth date? Come on! x2
There are more, but as I said. I feel lazy.
But overall, and here is where I don't get myself, I can't wait for the next book. I really want to know what happens at the end. Are they going to keep having the same old insecurities? I guess I'm frustrated because I really liked the book but there is a mishmash of information.
I recommend.

How are we three books into a FOUR book series and we still haven’t addressed one of the biggest plot points?! Where the fuck is Blaire?
The to and fro of this book is absolutely infuriating.
Nothing is being addressed.
So many issues are being touched on, ignored, And new ones brought into the plot.
Also can we discuss how DENSE this girl is? She hasn’t realised yet that Rainer was railing her mother? Even with the flashback?!
These four books could have been written much more succinctly with better planning and an EDITOR and there wouldn’t have been any requirement for four of them.
I have no issue with four books when the books are full of information, but stupid subplots, ridiculous extra information and NON EVENTS are not it for me.
Also it’s very clear cedwyn is gonna fuck some shit up. So I hope to Christ the author isn’t patting herself on the back thinking that will be a major twist.
This is getting annoying.

I have really enjoyed this series so far ! Iam really looking forward to seeing what happens next in this series. I hope Rhianelle and Svenn get a happy ending and they get to live in peace one day. ❤️
I'M OFFICIALLY DROPPING THIS SERIES. The first book was fantas-orgasmic! But after that, everything went to shit becoming such a huge mess and I don't know where this story is going now.
Sadly, I'll never see the HEA that the MCs deserve.
Oh this series just keeps throwing it all at us! Oh how she keeps us on our toes! I can’t wait for the next book! I got roped into this series through TikTok and I can’t quit reading g them!
first of all: i this in a few hours. second of all: i’ve read this before?? i had the most insane deja vu with the cursed knives that i know ive read that part before but without reading the other books first? bonkers. need the next one asap
I soaked up every word every moment, this is one of the best fantasy I've read so far I'm a little up set that I don't get to find out what happens next
Thank you to the author for providing me with an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
Shadow Fae Rhapsody is an atmospheric and seductive dive into a world where fae politics, dark magic, and simmering tension collide. Niro J. Hayle crafts a vivid realm filled with secrets and shadows, laced with lyrical prose that enhances the ethereal tone of the story. I’ll admit, it was a bit difficult to find my bearings after the prologue—the world is rich and complex, and the narrative throws you in quickly. But once I got my footing, I was fully invested. The pacing picked up, the stakes rose, and the emotional threads pulled tight in all the right ways. One of the standout features for me was the alternating points of view between Rhianelle and Svenn. These shifts were smoothly handled and added a compelling dual perspective to the story. Watching their narratives unfold in tandem—sometimes echoing, sometimes clashing—brought depth and nuance to the plot.
The romance is a delicious slow burn layered with tension, secrets, and just the right amount of danger. And the worldbuilding? Darkly lush and immersive. There were a few slower moments in the middle, but the overall story is worth the read.
Just be warned: the only downside I could find in this book is that now we have to wait for the sequel. And after that open ending? it will keep me guessing till the sequel is here.
If you’re a fan of beautifully written dark fantasy with morally gray characters, fae court intrigue, and poetic prose, Shadow Fae Rhapsody will absolutely enchant you.
Content Warnings: Violence, manipulation, dark romantic themes.
Recommended for: anyone who loves fae stories that balance beauty and danger in equal measure.
This by far was the worst of the three. It got good for a few chapters but it’s just insane. There’s absolutely no plot line whatsoever and the unbelievable amount of repetition of everything is nonsense. The only reason I kept reading is because I kept reading the tidbits and sneak peaks of the books on TikTok and it sounded absolutely amazing but reading it? The book doesn’t even come anywhere close to anything that’s been posted about the book to get people to read it.
