A weekend hookup.

Two pink lines.

And an expiration date on our marriage.

I love weddings but I can’t say I’ve ever been to one with a runaway bride.

The fallout is chaos but none of that matters when I score the company of a bridesmaid for the night.

Indie Kade is stunning, the pull I feel towards her magnetic and the chemistry between us absolutely explosive.

She’s the kind of woman that changes you on a cellular level.

But after our weekend together I’m the one that changes her. And a pregnancy test with two pink lines is only the beginning.

Trying to navigate our new reality living in two different places is hard but all bets are off when she lands in the hospital - and that’s not all.

Indie Kade is in trouble, the kind we can’t solve overnight.

So I ask her to marry me.

Just for now.

Just until the baby comes.

But what she doesn’t know is I’m playing for keeps.

Indie Kade was never meant to be a one night stand.

She was meant to be forever.

What I’m Starry-Eyed Over:
🤩 Life recently got extra stressful, and this novella is exactly the escape I needed. This beautiful binge read fully ensnared my anxious mind, and it felt so good.
🤩 Surprise pregnancy.
🤩 And the baby daddy is all in! I just adore Beau and the Sterling family.
🤩 The scrumptious flashback to the not-wedding dance and one-night-stand. How those flirty nicknames originated between Beau and Indie.
🤩 Modern marriage of convenience.
🤩 The little suspense plot made me understand and love Indie so much.
🤩 Beau’s conversation with Indie’s dad, Wayne, totally made me cry.
🤩 The surprise lingerie scene is beautiful and intimate and fun and steamy and everything!

What I’m Wishing/Dizzy About:
💫 You know me, I’d always like another steamy scene or two. But actually, nothing.

Novella are hard read for me as they always feel to short but twice I’ve read a novella by Alexandra Hale and twice they story felt complete. Author Alexandra Hales writing of a novella doesn’t feel like an open ended story at the end. The seasons of Montana is a series which has at least one other book by Alexandra Hale. After this summer is an engaging story that I read quickly and throughly. Beau and Indie are a romance pairing who find themselves in a surprising situation. While it slow down their path forward it always makes them a more compelling couple to reads. After this summer it witty , with a brilliant plot. The character narrative and growth for beau and indie is exceptional. Character growth for main characters in novella’s isn’t easy and Alexandra Hale balances character growth and plot brilliantly. I highly recommend giving After this Summer I read, the story is worth it. Tropes found in After this Summer are: novella, surprise pregnancy, marriage of convenience, close proximity, found family/ big family series, small town antics, spice +swoon, and open door romance. New to this author, then maybe a novella is a good way to start.

After This Summer

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

A night of passion two months ago results in a surprised pregnancy for Indie and Beau. Beau suggests they marry. It is a way to take care of and protect Indie and their unborn child. Family is important to him. He has already fallen in love with Indie. Now he needs to get her to fall in love with him.

This novella gets right to the story. The author ties everything up in a neat little package. If you are looking for a quick romance before the summer ends, this is the one.

I received this as an arc from the author and I’m voluntarily leaving my honest review.

This was a great surprise pregnancy romance. It was a well written story that had a good flow. I liked the chemistry between Beau and Indie and I especially liked how he really showed her that he would literally drop everything to be there for her. I really enjoyed the story.

Having consumed Winter and Spring in this series already, I was excited to continue this storyline. It was easy to drop back into these character's world, and I happily settled in for Indie and Beau's situationship!

If Indie thought telling Beau she was pregnant with his kid was going to be a problem, she doesn't really understand the depths his family will go to, to support their family members. Being independent is perfectly fine to a point, but taking the help that's being offered is even smarter. Something that Beau is FINALLY able to have her see.

I enjoyed the chemistry between these two, and how the siblings and cousins (that I already love) pull together to support them. This was fun, steamy, engaging, and I recommend this one.
Please read in order for the best experience. Worth your time, IMO.
Once done here, revisit this author's catalog for more entertaining reads.
Fortunate to have received an ARC (thank you) I happily leave my review.

I just love the way this author tells her stories. This was a short and sweet novella, but packed full of goodness. After an incredible night together, Indie and Beau are given a curve ball-in the form of two pink lines. All while Indie is dealing with a obstacle in her life.

Beau was a wonderful book boyfriend, incredible swoony and all in when it comes to Indie and the baby. Indie had my heart, I felt for her with all she was dealing with, and her reservations when it came to a relationship to Beau-even though she does care about him.

This one was so cute, a quick heartwarming low angst romantic story. The attraction and chemistry was instant and high. I loved these two together. Seeing their journey of getting to know each other on a deeper level all while managing some significant changes. They even have some pretty good nicknames for each other!

I always enjoy how Alexandra ties in previous and new characters. Both extended families were fantastic additions to this story, with strong bonds, so much support and funny moments. I’m a sucker for a text thread and her’s never disappoint!

I can’t wait to read more from this world.

Thanks to Alexandra Hale for the #gifted copy of this book.

“Way I look at it, Stunner, I have until the baby comes to make you fall in love with me."

Summary: A small town romance with a surprise pregnancy that leads to a marriage of convenience. It is short and sweet with the best spice and swoon! ❤️‍🔥

"And what, Stunner, will happen after this summer?"
"Everything, Heartthrob. Absolutely Everything."

My Thoughts: It is no secret that I absolutely love Alexandra's novellas. 💖 I have been waiting not so patiently for Indie and Beau's story, and it delivered. From page one, Beau is utterly swoon-worthy, and the story is delightful as he consistently proves his love for Indie. 🔥 They had sizzling chemistry from the moment they danced the night of the wedding. I love that Beau was excited for their baby and this new chapter in their lives from the moment he heard. And the way he jumped on a plane to fly to Blackstone Falls, I mean, can he stop being so perfect? This book is a perfect blend of spice and swoon; if you need a quick read to get you out of a rut, this is the one. ❤️‍🔥

I'm not even surprised anymore when Alexandra Hale writes a book that I absolutely adore. This novella was short, sweet, and had everything I love in a story.

We met Indie and Beau in A Runaway in Winter, and I was so excited to dive back into their world. They had an instant connection, and now Indie's pregnant after one magical night together. I loved how supportive and loving Beau was when Indie told him the news - it was literally the perfect reaction!

What I appreciated most about this story was how focused it was on Indie and Beau's relationship. There wasn't any unnecessary drama or angst; just two people navigating their new reality and getting to know each other better.

I'm also loving how all of Hale's stories are interconnected. We get to see cameos from characters we've met before, and it's just the best feeling.

The chemistry between Indie and Beau was instant, but it was how they built on that and developed real feelings for each other that made this story truly special.

If you love surprise pregnancy tropes and sweet romance, you'll devour this one!

After this Summer
Alexandra Hale
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

After this Summer is another fabulous addition to the Seasons in Montana series written by Alexandra Hale. In this short and sweet novella, we are back in Wintervale and are getting to read about  Beau and Indie's marriage of convenience and surprise pregnancy.  Beau is a perfect book boyfriend with his im all in from the start protective and swoony approach of getting Indie to see that they are meant to be together and have a beautiful family.

Indie was such a sweetheart and deserved all the love and support she got from Beau and their families. She definitely has a stubborn side and wants to prove she can do things on her own, but to see her realize that asking and accepting help doesn't make her any less independent was great to read.

Like all of her previous books, Alexandra Hale delivers a fantastic group of charcaters, many of them we already know from prevous books, and its always fun to see what they have been up to. The story was beautifully written and delivered on all the sweet and swoony moments. This was a short but sweet novella that will leave you feeling all the best emotions!

"You're suppose to rest and just be a goddess growing our baby."

Indie and Beau. We have been teased with snippets of them from two novellas and an itty bitty bit in Unexpectedly Falling. Their story is finally here and I could not have loved it more.

Having met at a wedding that didn't happen and spending an unforgettable weekend together they keep contact and Beau even goes and visits Indie. Within the blink of an eye her world changes...she is pregnant and her business partner skipped town with the investment money and shut down the shop. It's ok though because Beau Sterling has his eyes and heart set on her even if it takes her a hot minute to accept that.

Beau is resilient when it comes to getting Indie to move to Winter Vale with him. His family is there and her best friend is there. He is willing to go as slow as she needs to until the moment comes and she is actually moving, he takes her straight to his home. He falls hard and fast for her. The tenderness that this man shows her and the things he does for her made my heart so happy. I just adored him.

Everyone welcomes Indie with open arms. I love how Beau's parents treat her as one of their own since her parents are back in TN. We get little glimpses into the Kade and Sterling siblings lives with these two. I am so happy with the HEA Ms. Hale gave these two after all the teasing leading up to them. One more Sterling sibling to go and it is going to be a good one!

ARC Review: 4.5⭐️
After this Summer is a novella in the Seasons of Montana series featuring Beau Sterling & Indie Kade.

Beau & Indie spend a weekend together after their friend’s almost wedding, and shortly after two pink lines appear. Beau wants Indie to move to Wintervale where he lives so they can raise the baby together.

After her new business partner skips town with her life savings and cancels her insurance, a trip to the hospital leaves Indie panicking. Beau convinces her they should get married so she will have coverage for her and the baby. She reluctantly agrees for a temporary solution but Beau is determined for the long haul.

Can Beau make indie fall in love with him and have their marriage be real or will she end things as planned ?

I loved the full circle moment of reading some of the sterlings and Kades before and now having them come together as one! Beau was top tier book husband and is right up there with Jensen as my fave MMC of Alexandrea’s !

Thank you Alexandra for the ARC!

I have been waiting for Indie & Beau's story for quite some time.

While a surprise pregnancy from a one night stand isn't my most favorite trope, Beau and Indie had me really enjoying myself.

After the hottest night stemming from Beau's sister & Indie's bestie's runaway bride moment, these two continue their connection with texts and phone calls. During their first post-wedding visit, Beau learns he is going to be a father and his joy was jumping off the page. He was all in. Full protector mode, ready to be a full family.

Indie is cautious and guarded about what Beau means to her. She knows she can count on him to be a co-parent, but she's not ready to trust her hear to let him love her. Indie moves in with Beau and begins building the foundation of a strong friendship. No more wedding night extra-curriculars.

You know what they say about best laid plans. The chemistry, the pull, the comfort and the peace of mind is too strong to ignore. A family is built. A future together clear. All with a lot of love leading the way.

Heartthrob and Stunner

I really liked this story. It was sweet and wholesome. Yes there's a little drama but that's to be expected (it can't be completely smooth sailing through life). The two main characters meet at a wedding and end up having a one night stand because they live in two different towns.
In the middle of a hard time in her life, Indie discovers she's pregnant.
When Beau finds out, he's ecstatic. Not only about becoming a father, but about being able to show Indie how good they can be together and make her fall in love with him.
Beau is the perfect book boyfriend. He's sweet, attentive and he's falls hard and fast for her. He wants to do anything he can to make her life easier.
He's definitely a 10/10🔥🔥
Indie is an absolute sweetheart but she's stubborn. She thinks she can handle all of her problems and her pregnancy on her own but she's about to learn that its ok to have someone to lean on and its definitely ok to fall in love with her baby daddy.

I'm so glad I finally got to read Beau's happy ending!! Seeing him take care of the family (and their problems) for so many books, it was so good to see the family take care of his problems this time! Alexandra, I'm going to need like a little spinoff of all these issues throughout the series being taken care of! I need to see Beau and the boys cracking some heads!

Poor Indie thinking she could just be with Beau temporarily. Girl....there ain't nothin' temporary about that man. His absolute devotion to her and their baby was so fun to read; I hope I can find a partner like Beau Sterling one day.

I'm so sad to see the Sterlings almost done, but I can't wait for Jesse to finally get knocked off his feet! It's been a long time coming, and I'm sure it'll be someone really special who finally grabs his attention.

Alexandra is an absolute gem and has made herself firmly at home on my must-have list. I don't even care what it's about, it could be the phone book for all I care, but if it's got Alexandra's name on it, then I want it!

This is the amazing story we have been waiting for.. well atleast I have. After having a fun night at a wedding, Indie believes all her dreams are coming alive but she gets the shock of a lifetime that two little pink lines turn her world upside down. On top of everything else, her job just went up in flames in front of her face. She had to make big decisions and tell Beau truths before anything could move forward. Watching her take charge of her life and laying everything on the line was inspiring to read. Beau took everything as a sign that Indie was suppose to be his forever, after finding out her and the baby didn’t have insurance he makes the suggestion that they get married to get on insurance with him. The rest of the read you watch Indie fall head over heels for Beau in everything that he does because he just wants to make her life and everything around her better. This couple will leave you in your feelings by the end of the book and hooked for the next book.

- Unplanned pregnancy
- Cinnamon roll MMC
- Small town romance

Oh. My. Word. I loved this book so much! First of all, I ADORE small town romances. Second, the Sterling family are AMAZING! I loved Every. Single. Thing. about this book.

This is a novella, so it's a quick read that will leave you sighing and wishing for more!

Beau and Indie's story begins in a previous book in the series, at the almost wedding of Pen, Indie's best friend and Beau's sister. They had a little adult fun and went on their own ways.

Now Indie has found out she's pregnant...and that her business partner skipped town with all of Indie's money. Beau wants to help take care of Indie. He is all in to be a dad, which was soooo hawt.

The chemistry and attraction between these two is so beautiful! I love how they have to get to know one another since they had not interacted much before the almost wedding.

I am for sure diving into the back catalogue of this author!!

Indie and Beau have a steamy night together and about 6 weeks later, Indie stares down 2 pink lines. Her life is kind of a mess, but when she tells Beau about the baby he is all the way in.

I loved the two of them together, he was her safe space and her rock. He was so patient with her especially when she kept referring to their relationship as temporary. Indie had so much going on and had a hard time trusting what was right in front of her.

I love an Alexandra novella, I’ve said it each time I’ve read one. They are so sweet, spicy and pack a lot of story into a short page count. She is one of the queens of family and found family and this Montana series is no different.

This is such a quick read, I read it in one sitting. Like always I wish it was longer, but I also don’t feel like anything was missing from the story.

Thank you to Alexandra Hale for my arc of this novella, After This Summer is out today!

An accidental pregnancy brings a marriage of convenience for Indie Kade but father-to-be, Beau Sterling, is ecstatic to be both father and husband…now he’s just got to convince Indie that she wants the same too! I absolutely loved the playful banter between these two and his all in from the beginning and his protectiveness sold me on Beau Sterling from the beginning but my goodness!….He just kept getting better and better all the time. Indie is a sweetheart herself but she’s trying to see things through a different angle than Beau is at already and doesn’t want him to regret any rash decisions. All the family, her and his, made the story extra special with a little family drama getting resolved and a bit of more major work related drama getting handled by family-to-be. A delightful novella that I read in one sitting and enjoyed every minute of it!

𝐀𝐟𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐬 𝐒𝐮𝐦𝐦𝐞𝐫 by Alexandra Hale is a much-anticipated addition to the Seasons in Montana series that takes us back to Wintervale for Beau and Indie’s surprise pregnancy, marriage of convenience romance! There is nothing not to love about Beau and his all-in, swoon-worthy approach to moving at Indie’s pace while creatively staking his claim and finding ways to make her fall in love with him! Indie tugged at my heartstrings as well, as she found her footing and planned her next steps. As with any book by this author, the characters are super relatable through their entertaining banter and heartwarming family bonds that I can never get enough of, as well as the way they just show up for one another when some outside drama churns up! Any emotion feels authentic and the chemistry is electric, but totally fits the story. Alexandra Hale is a queen when it comes to delivering a well-rounded story in a short format, right down to the epilogue that my reader heart always craves. This time, though, I just didn’t want to let these two go yet! Thankfully, Jesse’s story is coming soon, so maybe I’ll catch a glimpse of them again!😉

I received an advanced review copy, and my opinions are my own and freely expressed.

After This Summer is part of the Seasons in Montana - Summer Series.

Indie and Beau spent a weekend together some time before and now Indie is pregnant. She is going through a troublesome time in her life at the moment and this is just the icing on the cake. She is hopeful when she tells Beau that he won't be angry with her. But he doesn't react they way she thinks. He is loving and caring about it. Beau was perfect with his reaction and with his desires for their future together. These two had a lot to navigate but they did it together and with a lot of love and belief in each other.

There isn't a lot of drama between these two. It was more of them just getting to know each other better after the weekend they spent together. Indie has some personal drama, separate from Beau, that she is dealing with. Otherwise, it was just a nice small town, surprise pregnancy read.

I loved this one!

Indie and Beau meet at Penn’s failed wedding where she decided AT THE ALTER that she didn’t want to marry the guy (See her book A Runaway In Winter for more details on that lol) and they spend the whole night together playing clean up of the ceremony and reception that didn’t happen.

They clicked and then spent the night together in her room. That lead to texts and calls and her finding she’s growing a surprise lol

This book seemed like a novella as I powered through it because the story was sooo good! Their connection was beautiful and Beau is the biggest cinnamon roll on the planet for her (with a little bit of growly alpha male thrown in). They are so cute together too!

GAHH!! I could literally gush about every part of this story lol

The long and the short of it she is enveloped into his love and his family and she fits 🥰🥰🥰

Another novella from Alexandra Hale that will have you wishing you were a character in the world she has created between Blackstone Falls, Clementine Creek and Montana.

Indie and Beau are characters that we have seen throughout the Alexandra Hale universe and I'm so glad they've gotten their time to shine! While they had chemistry from the first meet, they quickly learn how their lives are forever going to change when Indie finds out that not feeling well isn't quite just a passing sickness.

Follow these two as they overcome some life challenges and forced proximity has them facing their unrelenting feelings head on. Life is happening in a quick and unexpecting way, but they seem to handle it all just fine!

Oh, and let me just add that Hale throws in some of the most epic life advise in the form of Indie's dad. We all need a little Mr. Kade advice every now and then.

After This Summer is a novella that pulls you in and refuses to let go—no rushed endings or dangling threads here! Indie and Beau’s journey unfolds with warmth, wit, and genuine heart as they navigate surprise pregnancy, a marriage-of-convenience, and all those sweet small-town Montana moments. The character growth—especially in such a compact format—is impressive; these two feel as real and compelling as if they'd lived on the page for a full-length novel.

As a reader of Alexandra Hale’s Montana “Seasons in Montana” series, I always find myself sliding back into her world with ease—and After This Summer is no different, with its engaging storyline, lovable found-family dynamics, and cozy charm. Perfect for both new fans and return readers alike—this novella packs in swoon, spice, and emotional resonance all in one satisfying bite. Highly recommend!

I love Alexandra Hale's writing. If she writes it, I will read it.
After this Summer is a swoony and spicy novella that follows Beau and Indie after a one night stand where a curveball is thrown, because India is now pregnant. Beau doesn't even bat a freaking eyelash when Indie confesses to him.

Beau is top tier book boyfriend. He would do anything and everything for Indie and their baby. While Indie really wanted to give their relationship a real try she had her reservations because she just felt as though she was an obligation to him. Beau really stepped up and showed Indie what it is like to be loved and cherished.

Indie and Beau's banter and chemistry was written so well, and Alexandra ALWAYS has the best found family relationships thrown into every story! The text threads are always so elite!

Thank you so much Alexandra Hale for the eARC.

After This Summer was another fantastic novella by Alexandra Hale. We’re back in Wintervale, Montana, dealing with the aftermath of Indie and Beau—two characters we first met in earlier books. Indie, who’s in town for her best friend’s wedding that didn’t go as planned, ends up spending the night with Beau. Now, we finally see what comes of that.

Indie works in a salon and dreams of becoming a partner, but when she falls sick for a few days, everything changes. After finding out she’s pregnant, she has to tell Beau—and his reaction is everything. He truly believes his life changed when he met her, and it’s so heartfelt watching the two of them open up and learn about each other.

This quick read packs in several tropes—surprise pregnancy, marriage of convenience—and I was hooked from the start. I couldn’t put it down. Can’t wait to see what happens next in the series!

Gah!!! This novella is to die for cute and so freaking sweet! Beau snags your whole dang heart before the end of the first chapter, the nicknames, oh my god they're adorable and you just swoon every time you hear one, and I swear if Beau didn't already have you wrapped around his finger he would seal that deal with his impromptu visit to Blackstone Falls. This isn't instalove, Beau is already way past that, this is a surprise baby, a marriage of convenience, one guy who's just had everything he's ever wanted handed to him on a freaking silver platter, and every single happy sigh, heart in your eyes, and all kinds of melt you into a puddle, thing he does to show the girl he's been all in with since the moment he met her, how much she owns his heart, and it is freaking perfect.

ARC Review
After This Summer by Alexandra Hale
5/5 stars

A.Hale has done it again with another novella that I wish was a full length because of how much I loved not only the main characters as well. Balancing this many characters is not easy, but A. Hale makes it look so easy!

Beau! This man did not FALTER and stepped up to the plate and more! I love to see it in a male character and all of his other relationships were wonderful as well.

Indie! I loved her but was a little frustrated that she put Beau through the paces. I understand her hesitancy as well. She was so lovable and relatable and I'm so happy to see her happy as well.

Catch this book on Aug.25th!

A huge thank you to @alexandrahaleauthor and her team for an eARC copy for review!

A sweet and wonderful novella about two people who had a wonderful weekend however, their steamy weekend left them with a surprise, two pink lines. Ms. Hale delivers a romantic love story of a man, Beau, who is determined to be the man that Indie needs in her life after seeing a positive pregnancy test.
After a scare and being taken to the cleaners by her business partner, Indie agrees to enter into a marriage of convenience with Beau, the father of her child. The only thing is that Beau loves her and with this arrangement, he can try and work his way into her heart. Talk about a swoon-worthy man. Will he be able to break down the walls that are around her heart?
Friends and family add laughs and love to this story.
