Jade just bought a new home, and Meyer is her grumpy neighbor. This is a fun, opposites attract romance with a fun grumpy/sunshine storyline, likable characters who had me cheering them on to get their happily ever after. A Very Grumpy Neighbor is a sweet and steamy addition to the Wolf Valley: Grumps series. I voluntarily reviewed a copy of this book.

Such a fun, grumpy romance

I am always up for another visit to Wolf Valley - and the grumps that reside there - and this has definitely been one of my favourite visits. The story is about new neighbours, Jade and Meyer. Others from earlier in the series do appear in cameo rolls but this story stands completely alone with its own HEA and epilogue! Yay!

Meyer is happy in his fairly isolated home outside Wolf Valley but does feel there’s something lacking in his life. But it’s not the annoyingly adorable neighbour that’s just moved in beside him, disrupting his quiet life. But even if he did want to get to know her, he’s painfully awkward and she thinks he hates her. Nothing some drunken antics and a random blind date can’t sort, though!

Meyer is a recently retired marine and surely the poster boy for grumps everywhere. He’s also a bit awkward, doesn’t show his emotions well and will never use ten words when 1 - or even a grunt - will do instead. I adored him. He’s so strong and manly - but equally clueless and adorable. Grumpy hero catnip.

Jade is a sweet girl who tries so hard to get her new neighbour to like her - but she gets it - he’s not the friendly type. So colour her surprised when he starts trying to be nice to her. I loved her sass, the way she spoke her mind and how confused she was over Meyer and his grumpiness. She was a treat and the perfect match for Meyer.

Together this pair were brilliant. They had the banter, the squabbles, the chemistry and the laughs. I thought they were perfect together and loved the way they danced around each other and their feelings - misunderstanding each other the whole way. It was just a delight.

Yes, this was definitely one of my favourite Wolf Valley Grump romances. It was bright, fun, made me laugh and had all the love and sex you’d expect from a Shaw Hart romance - as well as from an insta-love story. Very much a recommended story. 5 stars.

In the eighth book of the *Wolf Valley: Grumps* series, we have “A Very Grumpy Neighbor”. We meet Jade, who has just settled into her new home. This is book eight in the author’s Wolf Valley: Grumps series and features Meyer, a former Marine forced out because of an injury and his new neighbor, Jade, whose sweetness just makes him grumpier.

When you’re new to the neighborhood and your neighbor’s first words to you are “cut your grass” and stomps off, you’re USUALLY not gonna be attracted to him but Jade’s nothing if not optimistic. And Meyer? Why can’t he stop watching the house next door, waiting for his new neighbor to step outside?

This was a short and sweet little read with a former Marine who might be a little grumpy (who am I kidding, he’s DEFINITELY a grump!) but he’s awesome at groveling! I enjoyed the whole book, especially when Jade didn’t take no bull but I loved the epilogue most of all, it was a slice of life that rang true and dang near idyllic. 4.5 stars (it would’ve been 4.25 stars without the epilogue).

This quote sums up A Grumpy Neighbour perfectly.
5 stars, nice easy instalove read which you can devour easily in one sitting. Great for a punchy romance read. Meyer and Jade are adorable. Meyer comes across a little standoffish preferring his own company to others, where as Jade is definitely more sociable. Their initial meet cute is quite abrupt, but just adds to the tension and chemistry between the two.

Oh yeah, back for another installment of the Wolf Valley: Grumps!!

Jade has moved to town after her bestie Blake came and fell in love. She's more than ready to set up her new home and make a fresh start in Wolf Valley. She's got a dream job working as an Arborist for town.

Meyer is def the grumpy neighbor. He is having a bit of go starting his civilian life, and his new curvy neighbor is getting to him fast!! I love the awkward, pure innocent charm Meyer is forced to face when Jade runs the other way when they are set up on a blind date. He's like a kid agreeing to be nice, even though he really does want to be nice.

Its not an easy road, but you can see them really go past what they know, and give into each other.

Shaw has away of writing that makes you laugh, maybe cry a little, and sigh a little at the love oozing from the pages. This book will make you want to read ALL of this series reading this HEA!

Jade buys her first house in Wolf Valley and her best friend complains that it is in the middle of nowhere. She helps Jade with her boxes and helps her start unpacking. Jade is excited for her new job as an arborist with the local Parks and Recreation Department. She sees her neighbor throwing out his garbage. She thinks he is hot. She waves but all he does is look at her and tells her to mow her lawn.

Meyer West is her neighbor and he is grumpy and rude. Turns out he left the Marines three months ago. He moved to Wolf Valley after being shot and medically discharged. His fellow Marine and friend, Camden, grew up here. Meyer thinks Jade is cute and curvy and too cheery.

I love that Camden gets Meyer to agree to a blind date and Jade’s new friends get her to agree to a blind date. I had a feeling that is the only way these two would get together. Cute story.

This has grumpy/sunshine troupe all over it and I love how Jade is no pushover, as well as smart and funny while Meyer is a marshmallow underneath and protects himself by being standoffish. She has just moved into town and a new home. She attempts to meet her new neighbor Meyer, but alas the poor guy is so awkward but a good man underneath it all. When friends set them up on a blind date, they get their chance for HEA. A easy, breezy, sweet and sexy read. Does the heart good. Don’t forget the bonus scene!!.

Meyer West was medically discharged from the Marines after he was shot and then moved to Wolf Valley where his friend lives. He's rude, grumpy, grunts, doesn't talk and keeps to himself. He likes the house he bought. It's out where he's all alone and only sees people when he goes into town.

Jade helped her bestie move and liked the little town of Wolf Valley so she decided to move there as well. She loves her house but her neighbor not so much especially after going over trying to say hi and he's just grumpy!

Getting together and meeting new friends they decide to set her up on a blind date but little did she know it was her next door neighbor, Mr. Grumpy who friends did the same to him.

They have chemistry there's no doubt but can she break down all his walls?

Meyer, yep he lives up to his name as a grump! He is always grumpy, especially to his new neighbour, Jade, she is always humming, or bubbly, just too much for Meyer. Yet, he cannot get her out of his head!! Jade, who is always happy, and wants only to see the good in everyone, is finding hard to find the good in her grumpy neighbour. She even brought him a rose bush when she moved into her new house!! Jade really wants to dislike Meyer, but she can’t, she wants him so bad! Then their friends or fate steps in and a blind date later, Jade discovers that her need for Meyer is something else, and Meyer discovers that his obsession is something else. I love Shaw Hart’s characters, and how she seamlessly connects her previous books to each other. I loved A Very Grumpy Neighbour!!

This was a well written, short novella about the ultimate grumpy/sunshine neighbours. I’ve been really liking this series, but admittedly didn’t connect with this one. I think Meyer was just a little too grumpy and stand off ish for me and Jade had way more patience than I would have. She was a saint for pushing through his one worded answers and grunts! Meyer’s inner dialogue though was cute, but he definitely had a lot of work to do mentally and emotionally. No cheating or OM/OW drama, dual virgins, dual POV, HEA and a last chapter 5 years in the future. The future chapter was an adorable glimpse into how they’ve settled in together and I was so glad Meyer found something he was passionate about. Wolf Valley has been so fun to visit, hoping for more in the future!

It's a short and steamy, instalove, OTT, age-gap, double virgin, opposites-attract, grumpy-sunshine, curvy girl gets her hunk romance. Jade is a sweet and curvy arborist. Meyer is a hunky, grumpy, ex-military man who was forced to retire due to an injury. They are neighbors and both are attracted to each other, but Meyer is grumpy and rude. When they end up on a blind date, Meyer hopes this is his chance to win her over. But she wants someone who trusts her and will open up to her. These two had great chemistry and we got a happy ending after a bit of angst.

Jade a very outgoing boisterous and happy go lucky girl who loves the outdoors and plants moves in beside Meyer a very isolated and grumpy closed off person. Though they both see each other as someone they would want to date. Unbeknownst to them their mutual friends set them up on a blind date that turns out to be the best date either have had once they open up. Though Meyer is so closed off and quiet opening up is hard and it drives Jade crazy enough to kick him out. Meyer needs to fix it and isn’t sure how until his friend Camden shows up and sets him straight. Wolf Valley a town of military retirees and family vibes. Will Camden’s advice be the kick in Meyer’s pants that he needs?.

Meyer is struggling as he tries to determine what comes next after an injury ended his naval career. As his friends find love a part of him wants the same thing for himself however he has never found a woman who makes him feel that way until Jade moves in next door.

Jade has recently moved to town to be close to her best friend. She is determined to be friendly towards her cantankerous neighbor even if he makes it difficult however one unexpected date changes everything.

Jade is willing to fight for what deserves which is exactly what Meyer needs to realize that a life with Jade was one he was willing to fight for.

Jade and Meyer was the center of this go around. With some of the character from the other books making an appearance. This one was cute but not as compelling as the other ones I have read. I think it was Meyer, I know he was a grumpy but something about him was a little off more than normal. I just didn't seem to get the warm and fuzzy from this couples story as I did with the other couples. But if this is the only book out of 8 that didn't give me heart palpitation I think it is safe to say read this series!.

This is book number 8 of the Wolf Valley: Grumps series and focuses on Meyer and Jade. Jade is new to Wolf Valley and is excited to get started in a new place and her own home. Meyer is Jade's neighbor and is also fairly new to Wolf Valley. He is fresh out of the military and struggling to adjust and finding a purpose. When he first meets Jade, he is hit with unfamiliar feelings and is very snippy with her. They get off on the wrong foot right off the bat and until a blind date gives Meyer the opening he needs to go after his woman. This was a great story and a great addition to the series.

Meyer and Jade's story is a fast moving one, full of friends and passion and a side helping of longing and grumpiness. Meyer is bad at opening up and after a night of spicey times he shuts down. Jade goes home.
He talks, sort of anyway, to a mate and goes to Jade and commits to being what she needs…a communicator.
Some angst, high heat and a beautiful HEA epilogue.

I really enjoyed this book. Jade just moved to town and sees her new neighbor and thinks he's cute but then he opens his mouth and is rude so the new crush disappeared quickly.
Meyer thinks Jade is so pretty and when he gets the opportunity to impress her, he does the opposite. He feels guilty for being so rude.
Can Meyer show Jade he's not really a jerk? Will Jade forgive him? How will they react to being set up on a blind date with each?

Meyer & Jade

I am just totally loving Wolf Valley and all these grumpy men! Meyer definitely lives up to the expectation of grumpy. He initially comes through and saves his blind date with Jade but then he almost messes up the whole thing. Thankfully he figures it all out! Short, sweet (with a heaping side of grumpy) and definitely steamy. I am loving this happily ever after!
