For teenagers Angel, Rahsaan, and Kahmeer, the summer before their last year of high school is the time for unadulterated fun. What they don’t expect is for a party to lead to a shootout that changes the trajectory of their summer and lives permanently.
Cousins, Imani and Darla, don’t expect connecting with Angel and Rahsaan to reshape their hearts and lives but it does. They learn quickly that the only thing stronger than love is hate, and the only person they can trust is themselves.
The Sweetest Knockout is told through the lens of five teenagers from seventeen to twenty-two as they navigate lust, love, life, and unfortunately… death. It is book one of a four book standalone series. While The Sweetest Knockout ends with a cliffhanger, the rest of the books will not.

I have read my fair share of B. Love books but this book stressed me out on a whole other level.. like just when I was really understanding the characters, all the shenanigans happened and I was too stunned to speak! I feel so bad for Meer and Angel.. I’m still on the fence for Imani, like I get it sis.. whew!! 🫢😭I just need book two, now!
Audiobook narrators were okay, I followed along with my ebook.
OMG, this book had my attention from beginning to end. These characters definitely go through so many challenges in their friendships, relationships, and life in general. My emotions were all over the place from the loss, betrayal, and deceit. Rahsaan and Darla were so wrong. Meer and Angel have been betrayed more than once, and I hope the real truth comes out. Had my suspicions about Imani, and it was definitely confirmed, but I can't wait to find out what happens next after that shocking ending. The author did an amazing job with this story. A must read
It’s so much I want to say but can’t without giving spoilers. Meer and Angel deserve better and I can’t wait for the truth to come out. Rahsaan was terrible and I blame his Daddy, who is also a trash person. Darla surprised me. I didn’t expect Imani’s actions but I get it, I just hate that Meer is the one suffering from it. I can’t wait for the rest of the books.
There was so much going on in this story. Nothing that I expected to happen happened. The story follows three teens as they become men. What started out as an unbreakable bond between the 3 takes so many twists & turns with lies, deceit, and secrets.
I'm not sure if this is the start of a series because the story did end in a cliffhanger, but I needed more revenge. I wish that the people who did the dirt could have suffered more of the consequences. I hope there is more!
I’m waiting on book 2. There’s no way these folks really moving like that toward my boy ! I hope my dawg learn everything and show them how a real n word gets down.
I’ve read so many B. Love books and I have to say this was a different vibe. The narrator reading gave the book a melancholy mood. There was so much trauma. No one won because everyone lost at some part in the story. I think the author was intentional with the visional atmosphere this book created. Character development was gradual with some of the main characters. B. Love did a great job showing how changes is inevitable as we age. Our thoughts and actions can become wise or ignorant.
Overall, I think this book was a 3.9-4.0. The ending left me with so many questions. But I think it was meant to be that way; usually for a sequel.
Talk about a page turner. B. Love please come to the front of the congregation. This story of three childhood friends coming into age was one for the books. One thing I can say about B.'s pen is that you never know what to expect. I love the man Angel turned into I cannot wait for what's next. The songs that corresponded with the chapter titles played out like a soundtrack. Keep the stories coming B.!
This book right here!!! 😳 When I tell you I was feeling some type of way! These characters were a lot! I don’t know who was worse and I won’t name names for spoiler reasons but my goodness. This was a mess! I need some truths to start coming out because some people are going to SNAP! The deceit is REAL!
Wowwwwwwww the way this ended was shocking. I hate the fact that Imani lied on Meer because he didn't deserve that. Saan and Darla was so wrong for what they did, did they deserve to die no but I wish Angel found out the truth maybe he wouldn't have grieved the way he did. This was a really good and interesting read. Great job B. Love
This was such a 🔥read. All I can say is that y'all need to go read. The twist and unexpected turns left my jaw on the floor. You would never have thought what happened would happen. And I can't wait to see the aftereffects of it all.
The narration was atrocious. Not sure if the first half of the book was slow or if I just couldn’t focus on the audiobook lol. The second half picked up a bit but not sure I would read the next books in the series.
I’m not going to lie. I enjoyed everything about this book. I hope that she ends up telling angel what she did and if y’all wanna know who she is, you might as well read the book.
