Jasmine Jennings was in desperate need of an out and she got one. After completing college she left the domineering home of which she was raised in and ended up in the big apple(New York City) with her best friend and now roommate Summer. Meeting HOT night club owner Knox was not part of her plan but it sure as heck was part of his. When Knox realizes Jasmine is now living in New York he can barely believe it.

I can’t believe this shit. She practically landed in my lap.’ Knox

Revenge has just become that much sweeter for him because now he can taste it. *GRINS* Literally!

Jasmine tries to resist Knox however Knox makes that damn near impossible. She can only stay away for so long before she finds herself falling in to a lust induced Knox filled trance.

Things get tricky between the two when feelings start to take root and Knox realizes he no longer wants to hurt Jasmine. His heart is now in it to win it. So why can't he just give in.

My Thoughts
The me a year ago would have easily given this book 4 stars, the me today says it’s more of a 3 star read. I felt that this had a formula that I’ve seen before and although the story is good it just did not hit the spot for me. The ending in particular felt rushed. In fact overall I felt like the book its self had this fast rushed feel to it.

Writing and/or structure wise, I found that some of the sentences were missing words or incomplete. Being as though I actually paid for the book and it was not an unedited ARC I was a bit disappointed by that.

My Rating and Why
I decided to give Finding Us 3 STARS because I felt the book was good but it could have been better. In my humble opinion the plot was very cliché, the editing was not done well and the ending had a rushed feel to it.

My Ratings
Characters- Adorable, I liked Summer and Jasmine’s close friendship
Writing Style- Mediocre
Plot/Storyline- Cliché - Broken guy seeks revenge of the girl in a family that took something from him and destroyed his life
Steam Factor- Medium/Steamy On a scale of 1-10 I say 7
Entertainment Level- Lo-Med-Hi I would say Medium, it managed to keep my attention
Overall- Skip it. This one unfortunately does not make my recommendation list.

Now go forth and read. Then come tell us about it on Goodreads!

Okay where to start.... This book just did not do it for me. I felt like the story was very rushed and Jasmine and Knox when from not even talking to one another to saying I love you in the course of seconds. The pace was just off. Jasmine denied all feelings, then was suddenly overcome with them without anything really showing how those feelings changed. In one weekend trip, she finds this instant love for all these people that she just meets and it’s like I had reader’s whiplash.

The plot twist was slightly predictable and was given away by bits and pieces mentioned throughout the book so the build up to the reveal was sort of lost by the halfway mark. It really came down to being told about a lot of things but not really being shown them.

I also was not a fan of the constant dropping of songs into the story. There are subtle ways to do this, but it was almost like a DJ announcing each song – it felt out of place for the most part since there was no way to tie in or relate a song to a scene. A lot of authors use a song title as a sub-heading to a chapter.... I think that would have been far better than just random songs being dropped throughout the story – it could have set the mood for the chapter a bit. It’s also dangerous since although romance genre readers will all love a good love story, musical tastes are vastly different and some readers get turned off easily by tossing in a song that they might hate (see other books where the author overuses Nickleback songs to see the reader reactions).

In the end, I think this had potential in the story line and plot – but the road to get to the ending was just a bit too bumpy. Another review mentioned being more interested in the co-starting characters, and I have to agree. This story was just not for me, but there seems to be plenty others that enjoyed it – so it could simply come down to just a reader’s preference.

Not my cup of tea. I thought it was going to be good judging from the blurb. But then the heroine started whining right there on the very first page and it went downhill very fast. She didn't really stop whining. She whined about her parents; too controlling. She whined she couldn't get the course she wanted in college; but went anyway and lived like a queen. She whined about being too rich. She whined about how her life sucks while enjoying her trust fund in a cushy, door-manned co-op in New York City.

The "hero" was just like any other hero that litter most NA books nowadays. I couldn't even remember his name. :( And the plot? Well, I've read it a thousand times before. The twist wasn't really a twist since you could see it a mile away. So by the time shit had hit the fan and all secrets were finally revealed, I was already in the throes of channeling Sheldon Cooper.

The only saving grace for this book was that it was short.

Thank God.

WOW...JUST WOW!!! I do believe I have added another book boyfriend to my list. And from the way these characters drew me in, I'm thinking I'll be adding some more very very soon. Megan Smith did an amazing job making us fall in love with these characters...Knox Mitchell jumped right out of my kindle...grabbed my heart and took off with it.

*******

Jasmine Jennings grew up with controlling parents. They have controlled her her entire life, deciding what she wore, what college she would attend and even what her major would be. She had access to all the money in the world but all that money did not make her happy. Getting away from her controlling parents was the only thing going to make her happy.

On the day of her college graduation, Jasmine 22, gained access to her trust fund left to her by her grandfather. She ups and moves to NYC with her best friend, Summer, to get out from under her controlling parents. From that day on, Jasmine Jennings lives by her own rules and cuts her parents out of her life for good.

Jasmine and Summer become great friends with a sexy guy by the name of Rex Mitchell. & I must say I loved Rex...Summer and Rex hit it off and become more than just friends. He introduces them to a new set of friends. Friends that I fell in love with...

So finally, Jasmine's life is looking up and she couldn't be happier...

Until...she meets him...Sexy, heart melting, Knox Mitchell, who happens to be Rex's brother. Jasmine does everything she can to avoid Knox...but he seems to be everywhere she is, so avoiding him is not in the cards. NOPE...no way of avoiding that adonis...and who would want to.

 photo brett-novek-71_zps774a082c.jpg

“What do you want, Knox?”
“You.”
“Not happening.”
“Not yet.”
"Not ever.”

Knox Mitchell is a successful nightclub owner as well as other businesses. He also happens to own the building that Jasmine and Summer live in. Gah he is so dang sexy!!!

Knox's world was turned upside down about 5 years ago when he lost his entire world. This devastated Knox and he didn't take it too kindly. He decided then and there that he needed to look after his brother but he also had vengeance running through his veins. He then made a pact with himself...HE WOULD MAKE THEM PAY!!!

But, his plan for vengeance is taking a detour...Not a detour he wanted to take. He is yielding to his plan of payback because he wasn't expecting to be affected by one Jasmine Jennings. Feelings he didn't want to feel. The more he was around her the more he couldn't fight his desire and attraction to her. Now what is he to do??? His plan of revenge is crumbling right before him.

For 5 years, Knox has put his vengeance plan in motion. For five years, retaliation against the people responsible for his future being ripped away, and responsible for his life to crumble, has been what's kept him going...

Until her...

 photo 0501f7f3b31d3a8c904dc921e02b2860c_zps4e417dd7.jpg

"I’m falling for her. I know it deep down inside."

"I want to fall for her, but I shouldn't."

I deserve to be happy again, and I know she can make me feel that way."

"So once again, I give in and go after her."

"I want her."

"I need her."

"I have to have her."

Jasmine and Knox find themselves on an unexpected journey and an exploration of feelings that were unexpected. Neither one of them were looking for or expecting to fall in love. There wasn't a place for love in their lives.

Jasmine was loving and enjoying her freedom from her controlling parents. The only thing she actually missed from her old life was her Nanny, Marie. The only person who made her feel loved and cared for besides her best friend, Summer.

 photo Fotor042514475_zps079bb72f.jpg

Knox was living in his own little bubble. Just functioning in the world. Taking care of his family and friends and his plan of revenge on the people responsible for losing his entire world.

Now that the tables have turned on Knox, and he has fallen in love with Jasmine...which was not in his plan...his plan was for her to fall for in love with him. Will he be able to tell her the truth without crushing her and losing her forever? Or will their secrets destroy whatever hopes they have of having a future together?

Megan Smith has gained a new fan. I was absolutely pulled into this book from the very beginning. I finished reading FINDING US within a few hours. I'm feeling like there may be more to come from these two...I sure hope so. I would love to have seen some actual interaction with Jasmine and her parents...especially her father.
I'm also hoping to get to know more of the gang..especially Jeremy and Cade and sweet sweet Ava. That little girl melted me ;)

 photo Fotor0425145940_zpsf84db51e.png

This book will not disappoint. It was a great read for me.

I give FINDING US 4.5 Crazie Stars ~KIM

Cheesy. Rushed. Lacking.

*****SPOILER ALERT****

Jasmine Jennings is running from a horrible childhood. She runs away to New York, with her trust fund and best friend. What was so awful about her childhood? Her mom is an alcoholic, and her dad is controlling. Typical rich girl drama. My parents made me wear nice clothes. My parents paid for college. My parents want me to take over their multimillion dollar company. WHINE! I am not exaggerating when I say that is basically the depth of what we get from her childhood. She completely broke ties with them, and we don't even get a glimpse of how bad it was. Just an overused synopsis of a troubled little rich girl whose parents didn't love her enough, or pay her enough attention. She loves dancing. Absolutely LOVES to dance. It's her escape. Although all we really see of her love for dance is a paragraph about her teaching a dance class, her dancing in the club, and a few other veiled references throughout the book. Yet, again lack of character development. She lives with her best friend Summer. She loves Summer. Summer is the only thing close to a family she has. They live together, they go out dancing with each other, sometimes the chat in passing. Even more of nothing. Basically, we are suppose to like and relate to Jasmine because she doesn't get along with her parents (not 100% sure why), she likes to dance (it was mentioned a few times), and she has a best friend named Summer (you know the girl who lives with her).

If you think getting to know Jasmine was tough, let me introduce you to Knox. Knox is every NA cliché male lead. He is hot, brooding, and rich. He is twenty-six. Owns clubs and stuff. He drives a Range Rover, so I guess that is another clue that he is wealthy. He is obsessed with getting revenge. We know that because it is told to us in the books summary. What we actually get is a few paragraphs at the end of each chapter told in his POV. These chapters are mostly inner dialogue where he talks to himself about "her", "them", and "his plan".

This story was good, could of been bette if the ending had not felt so rushed to me. It definitely needs some work on the sentence structure.

This is just one example of what I mean with sentence structure

Rhea also lent me a pair of her black pumps so I wouldn't have to stumble around on heels all night.

There are some sentences that need to be re-worked and re-worded as well. I'm not editor but I caught them while reading and it made me have to re-read some to understand what was being said correctly.

Megan Smith has done it once again in her new book Finding Us. I read this book in about 3 hours tops once I started it I just could not put it down. I have read every book she has published and loved them all so I am not surprised that I loved this one also.

Jasmine aka Jas grew up with the best of everything that money could buy. Except she wasn't happy by all means her parents were controlling in ever aspect of her life from social event to college even her classes it was all maped out for her. Once she graduated college she was gone moved away and never looked back she was done playing by her family's game she wanted to be who she wanted not her parents. She wanted to find herself and who wouldn't respect that? I know I did that's one of the reasons I love her because she was no longer going to put up with it. So she moved to the big apple with her best friend summer. Which is were she meets Rex who introduces her to his brother Knox.

Now I fell In love with Knox right away he was dark, handsome and and hiding something that could change everyone's life.. He owns all kinds of businesses and night clubs. Once he meets jas he's instantly attracted to her which becomes a problem for him because of his secret he also comes a BIG time grudge. The problem is will this this grudge could definitely brake them. The question is will Knox let it define him more then it already has?? Hmmm well your not getting the answer from me lol that's for you to find out. :)

All I'll say is I LOVE all of the characters in this book (I can't wait to read more of them)..there is romance, love, loss, drama, betrayal, and definitely a bunch of twists but most of all finding your self in the process. I give this book 5 stars across the board. It is an absolute must read you won't regret it.

I really enjoyed this book - a solid four stars from me. It kept me guessing and intrigued from the first chapter to the last and I'm not ashamed to say I devoured this book in a few hours.

I definitely had a few laughs during this book courtesy of Cade and Jeremy and I am hoping the next few books cover their respective stories.

And let me just say... Knox Mitchell is practically edible. You've been told!

My only complaint is the music referenced throughout the book. I HATE pop music! With a passion. And those songs in the book make my ears bleed.

Highly recommend!

Secrets. Revenge. Love. The perfect combination that makes one amazing, engaging read.

All Jasmine Jennings wanted to do was to get out from her parent’s clutches and live her life the way she wanted to. She already had it with them running from her life, so on the day of her college graduation, and the time she can touch her grandfather’s trust fund. Together with her best friend Summer, they went to New York, started from scratch and finally enjoying freedom.

Then sexy, enigmatic, volatile Knox Mitchell came into her life. The attraction was present, it alarmed her – she tries to stay away from him, tries to avoid him. He was persistent, determined to have her. He will do anything, be everywhere with her. When she finally gave in, he started to avoid her.

Why? After all the trouble he has been through with her, after all the wooing, after all the efforts – why is he avoiding her?

It all goes down to the SECRET. It took one night and a drunk driver for Knox’s life to be broken. All he wanted to do was to take revenge on the person who was responsible for it all. But his plans took a huge turn when Jasmine came into his life. She was an unexpected surprise and it had him torn. Falling in love with her was not on his plans. The big question is, will he tell her or will he go on with his plans?

My curiosity was piqued right on the first few chapters. It went on and on and on, I have a few guesses, a few hunches, but I wasn’t really sure. Knox wasn’t giving in, he wasn’t spilling his secrets, or what was this all about, until finally in the few final chapters when everything fell apart. Secrets were spilled, the plan was out in the open and hearts were broken. Surprises were handed one after the other, secrets that you haven’t seen coming. Just as I was so sure it was the final twist, here comes another one.

I went all night reading this novel, I didn’t have the heart to put it down, the urge of finding out everything was too compelling, putting it down might make me miss the big revelation. Nevertheless, I enjoyed reading it – it’s sweet, steamy, and has a great storyline that makes this novel unputdownable.

The story's quite exciting, I like revenge stories so I chose this amongst hundreds of books!!

He wanted her to fall for him, then leave her high and dry, he did that...but he fell for her too..

I like the writing style and it's written in dual 1st person POV which I like.

The story is okay, I just hope that there's more...problems? I'm not really that satisfied..

A lacking and dragging plot that's vague for the sake of being vague before it up and makes a mad damn dash to the most illogical, unf'ing believable, rushed explanation and HEA imaginable. Horrible characters that are empty other than the whining and brooding. The writing was full of fluff. It's overly telling about mundane, trivial shit & purposefully flippant and clipped about the nuts and bolts of the story because you'd immediately stop reading if you had any clue about the what and why of the revenge scheme.

Now, there's no way to tell you just how bad this story is without spoilers. So, if you're still considering torturing yourself with this book for some reason, and I'd recommend not, then don't read any more of this review.

Whine, whine, whine is the female MC

We meet Jasmine. She's a trust fund baby that's hiding, avoiding her parents because they've dressed her up and paraded her, made her go to an Ivy League college of their choosing, made her major in a subject of their choosing, & tried to make her take over their ubber rich business. Rich girl problems, ehh. Her reaction is to run away with her BFF and NEVER speak to them again. Wow, overly dramatic out of the gate.

She and the BFF meet a guy and become fast friends w him. He has a brother, Knox.

Cue the insta-lust for Knox, but the 'woe is me' ... I'll have to avoid him because he's so hot and rich, makes my "mouth dry," & sends an effing current between my legs when he touches me. It's cheesy, angsty shit galore.

Whiplash Male MC

Meet Knox. He's dry humping her, telling her how effing beautiful she is, and literally stalking the shit out of her one minute and the next he's sending her evil eyes, "stiffening under her touch," and running off to brood the next. We get insert chapters from Knox's POV to tell us he is out for revenge against her parents & Jasmine is his pawn. Why? Well, all we get is repetitive vague references to "her." Ooh, the mystery "her!"

Mystery flavored KoolAid

They all go off on a vacation to South Carolina a week after meeting. This is where we learn his parents are dead, but he and no one else there will talk about "her." "Her" is the assumed reason he is using Jasmine for revenge.

He has a change of heart and story turns into a pull and push insta love where he refuses to tell Jasmine about "her" but tells her about his parents.

They finally screw and he up and leaves and ignores her for a month while he tries to figure out how to tell her she was a revenge plot turned love.

Meanwhile, Jasmine surmises that Knox must be working for her parents and heads home to confront them.

Cue the housekeeper/nanny that's really Jasmine's mom.

Now, so far we just have a really angsty, cheesy story that's just boring. But when the revenge mystery of "her" is unveiled, this story takes a turn into Peter Panville.

Welcome To Peter Panville

The housekeeper/nanny is really Jasmine's mom, and she had a niece named Savanna. So, this Savanna, Jasmine's cousin mind you, was Knox's pregnant girlfriend.. His "her." The woman Jasmine grew up thinking was her mom killed Savanna and Knox's parents while driving drunk and got off because she's a rich bitch.

First, these connections just are in NO WAY BELIEVABLE because it's from California... New York... South Carolina. Yet, they all seem to intersect across the effing country and be at the same place, same time. Knox's gf just happens to be Jasmine's cousin and the woman that killed her just happens to be Jasmine's fake mom. They're both on the hwy at the same time even though they live in different places. Then Knox and Jasmine just happen to both live in NY in present time, and she happens to live in a building Knox owns, meet his brother by chance and becomes BFF with him, and works at a coffee shop Knox owns. ^ and none of this is even staged within the plot!!! He says he hired a PI to keep tabs on her, but that meeting his bro, living in his building, working for him was all chance... "You kinda just fell in my lap." Wtf ever. I guess that's supposed to lessen the effect of his initial revenge plot lmao, but it just makes the story all the more ridiculous and unbelievable.

Second, he has somehow known the whole time that Jasmine's mom isn't her mom thing and knows that she's Savanna's cousin. So, how the hell is F'ing Jasmine and breaking her heart going to be revenge in any way?!?! She's not the daughter of the person that killed his family! And, even if she was, how is breaking the heart of a girl that doesn't even talk to those ppl accomplishing anything? He's actually hurting someone that's Savanna's family... What a dumbass f'ing plot line!

Third, her fake mom killed his parents and gf. Before Jasmine has any clue wtf is going on other than he is like whiplash from loving to cold, she asks him over and over what his problem is. He says he just can't talk about "her," but talks to her several times about his dead parents. What f'ing sense does this make that he can't talk about "her" with Jasmine because she was killed by Jasmine's fake mom but he can talk about the parents that were killed. Again, this shit just don't even make sense. It's illogical.

So, now we have boring, cheesy, and effing unbelievable. What more can go wrong you ask? Well, lots~

Entire operation sweep it all under the rug at lightening speed

Jasmine finds out the entire story from her real mom. She confronts Knox. No screaming, yelling, or name calling... Nope! They "make love" and she leaves telling him she needs some time to process. Omg!!! I know that if I just found out a guy was stalking me for years, out for revenge for his dead gf that's my look-a-like cousin, and has done nothing but lie to me, I'd "make love to him" and ponder it all later. Eye f'ing roll! Face palm!

She takes a few days to ponder if he only loves her because she looks like his dead gf (no thought to the damn stalking revenge deceit shit at all) before "finding herself at his door."

Whoopee!!!!!!!!! We sweep the entire book under the rug like it never f'ing happened (literally) and move straight to the flowery HEA complete with a baby named after the dead gf/cousin.

It really just don't get any worse than this story. It's the stuff that leprechauns on crack shit out after being attacked by unicorns riding tricycles.

Rebecca and Tracy's Joint 4.5 Star Review

Tracy~
So this was my first Megan Smith book and I’m totally hooked! I loved it! I will be one-clicking all of her others.

Rebecca~
I have read all of Megan's other books and loved this one, as I have all the others! She is one of my favorite NA authors.

Tracy~
Let’s start with the characters. I loved Jasmine. She was working so hard on finding her way.
“We were both lost. We’re trying to find our way and we’re working on finding us.”

Rebecca~
Me too! I found her to be the perfect balance of vulnerability and toughness. She wanted her freedom after growing up in a less than nurturing environment. I was surprised she was so open to love after her less than stellar upbringing.
“He makes me vulnerable, makes me want things I never knew I wanted. He makes me see things clearly and lets me be me.”

Tracy~
And she was trying not to love… But then there came Knox… Oh I fell in love with Knox; sad, broken and also not looking to love.
“I just wanted to find peace again in my life and right now, everything is pushing me to Jasmine”

Rebecca~
I liked Knox immediately! Of course, getting small bits of his POV won me over completely! I wanted to know his secrets desperately.

Tracy~
His POV, as short as they were, added an so much to the story. He kept his secret tight lipped throughout. I was trying to guess what it was, but parts of that secret had my jaw dropping; there were things I completely didn’t expect!

Rebecca~
I figured a small piece but I agree, there were definitely some unexpected elements.

Tracy~
This story was full of surprises for me. I fell in love with the secondary characters in this book.

Rebecca~
Megan is exceptional at creating supporting casts. She does it in the Love Series and here again in Finding Us. The banter with this group is fun but realistic. Jeremy won my heart and I really hope we see more of him in the future.

Tracy~
By the looks of the Epilogue, I’m pretty sure we are getting more Jeremy next.

Rebecca~
Speaking of the Epilogue, the ending of the book was a little rushed for me. My head was spinning with all the events that took place in just a few pages.

Tracy~
I agree completely. I felt as though the book ended ready for another in the series about Knox and Jasmine to come out, but then the epilogue summed it all up in just a few pages. Maybe I just wanted more.

Rebecca~
I still loved this book and highly recommend it!! Many readers will appreciate a book without a huge cliffhanger

Tracy~
You’re right… A Dual POV without a cliffhanger; my favorite! A 4.5 star read and a definite one you should add to you TBR if you haven’t already!

I find myself saying this a lot lately; I don't normally do this BUT:

I have a sales app that tracks my e-book wishlist and lets me know when a book on my list drops to a certain price. I will attempt to do a post about the amazing app (REMIND ME). Somehow I must have seen finding Us advertised and added it to my wishlist, so when I got the price drop alert I automatically one clicked it - I mean it was on my wishlist. Intrigued as I couldnt remember anything about it, I delved in and then couldn't put it down, but not for the reasons you would expect.

So I don't normally put a lot of spoilers in my reviews or get too ranty in them either so be warned this little piece will contain lots of both. Saying that I did enjoy the story and to be fair it certainly stuck in my head, probably not for he right reasons but it is stuck there lol. Credit where credit is due, Megan Smith has created a story in Finding Us that you aren't going to forget.

The characters are well-formed and endearing, having insight into both Knox and Jasmine's thoughts was a must as the plot played out.

Understandably Knox is set for revenge with Jasmine being a pawn in his plans, however, this son alters as he gets to know her and falls hard for her. It is pretty easy to guess the twists within the narrative as the clues are there from the very beginning. It really, really bothered me that Jasmine looks exactly like Knox's old girlfriend that he can't speak about and misses more than life itself. So yeah the identical looks were a huge problem for me, as there is always doubt as to whether Jasmine is simply a replacement for the old girlfriend, Savanna. Something I couldn't quite get past, add in the fact that Jasmine and Savanna's lives are intertwined in a (not) surprising way only added to my irritation with the plot delivery.

Was it really necessary to use such trite developments to progress the plot. I don't write but I think the delivery could have been made more dynamic without resorting to clichés. The whole identical characters is a pet peeve of mine and to my mind more than a little creepy.

Apart from that I actually really liked the characters, the romance was believable aside from the points mentioned and again kudos to Megan Smith for creating a story that is going to be talked about even if it is only in a ranty, spoiler filled way.

One other thing that irritated me beyond measure and again with the creepy, who the hell names their daughter after the dead ex-girlfriend. NO JUST NO.

Jasmine Jennings is living in NYC with her best friend Summer. She cut ties with her parents once she finished college and is able to have a good life because she was able to get her trust fund from her grandfather at age 22.

Her parents are rich and always pushed her to do what they want her to do. The only love she received was from her nanny Marie.

Jasmine loves to dance and she does this as her job and a relaxation technique.

Her friend Summer is dating a guy named Rex Mitchell. They get along well and when she meets his brother Knox Mitchell she knows she is in trouble. She tries to stay away from him but he keeps on finding her.

Knox Mitchell is all about revenge. He doesn't care that he is attracted to Jasmine or does he? The more he knows her the more he likes her.

Secrets. They never stay hidden for too long and these could break them apart.

I read this book in an afternoon. It was an easy read.
I enjoyed most of it. I do believe that the ending was too rushed for me. I liked both characters although I wanted to scream at Knox sometimes. I liked the friends dynamic too and I want to read their stories as a well. I know Jeremy is next.

“I’m still trying to find my way out of this nightmare I’ve been living in.” Knox sighs deeply.
“I’m still trying to find my way in life.” I place a finger under Knox’s chin and tilt his head up. What I see in his eyes is like a mirror of my own. “We’re both lost. We’re trying to find our way and we’re working on finding us.”
Knox’s breath hitches before he crashes his mouth to mine. “We’re finding us.”

At only 198 pages, Finding Us by Megan Smith is a quick read. What starts as revenge, ends with a happily ever after. Although, not before some major twists and turns.

Megan Smith keeps you on your toes, wanting to find out what happens next and if love is truly in the making between our hero and heroine. I think the secondary characters are extremely easy to relate to and cannot wait to read more of this series. Finding Us is the first book in the Finding Series. Knox and Jasmine have a chemistry that cannot be matched and if you are like me, you’ll be rooting for them the entire book.

This was the first book that I’ve read from Megan Smith and I cannot wait to read more from this author.

I'm not sure how I felt about this. Honestly, I didn't see the connection between the two characters apart from physical attraction. There was no communication, no spark for me. I enjoyed the secondary characters better. I feel like there wasn't any subtle hints to the big reveal throughout the book, then all of a sudden the end happens and I'm bombarded with information. It confused me. There were some cute parts, and I didn't think the heroine was a complete imbecile half the time, so that definetley wins it some points. I also really like tattooed bad boys. So all in all, it was okay.

NA authors need to understand that there`s no need to copy already there storylines. I cant even find a normal book with unique storyline these days. The so called chemistry between the characters was just blah and nonexistent. And I didn`t feel the love between them. I have more to say but I don`t want to get mean.

A good example of one of those books you want to love and rave about but it just doesn't work out. It could have been a favorite with a little more story development and character-depth tweaking, it definitely should have been edited better, and then it would have been at least a 4 star review. The story certainly had the potential.

I started this before bed thinking I'd read a chapter or two before falling asleep. Here it is two hours later and I fully devoured this. The storyline was great, the twist was excellent. I loved Knox and Jasmine as well as the supporting characters too. Can't wait for book #2. Well done, Megan!!

Meh. One of the characters says it best-the end is so ridiculous it was like a Jerry Springer episode. It wasn't awful and unreadable (although there were some annoying misspellings and typos) but it wasn't very entertaining either.

This was an absolutely amazing book! I loved it! Knox annoyed me sometimes because his mood kept changing from hot and cold. But, I could look past that because it didn't happen much:)

This book was superficial, stupid and unrealistic.

The whole magnetic pull that Jasmin had with Knox just sounded like I was reading Twilight. If this dude wasn’t hot he would have been seen as a creepy stalker that that knows no bounds. He literally found where she worked, lived, knew her running schedule and her phone number!!
And then she just has to go to the beach house for Summer and there just happens to be no rooms for just her because apparently the brothers don’t want to sleep together so Jasmin has to sleep with Knox?!? That’s so stupid. First of all as if it was that bad to sleep with your sibling, especially if it’s to give a room to your guests. And secondly I thought this was a huge house! Seriously? There’s no other room at all on the first or second floor?! Thirdly, if it’s their house then they should have known they had guests! That whole situation just got in my nerves. Also what kind of friend is Summer who knows Jasmin wants to keep her space from Knox and didn’t even want to come to the beach house to begin with but will still put her in that position as if it were no big deal. The guy is literally a stalker!

Not to mention the part that Knox said that Jasmin was a lot like the mystery woman! Like what a coincidence, right? He even said they looked similar!!

The insta love just made the whole “relationship” superficial. They literally knew almost nothing about each other or had any conversations to learn about each other and they just fooled around, but oh suddenly they really know each other and love each other!? The whole thing just did not work for me.

The side characters were okay but weren’t even that needed except for Summer and Rex. The whole Jeremy surprise was just an excuse for Knox to get emotional.

Oh and what was up with that ending? It was like a cliffhanger that wasn’t even needed. That epilogue was just kinda cheesy and I found myself rolling my eyes.
On that note when the truth came out and Jasmine confronted Knox all she did was reject his kiss and that was it! She didn’t fight him or say anything on her behalf! It was sooo weak! I was like are you kidding me? That’s it?
And if he knew the truth about her then what was the whole point of the revenge??

Idk, this book made no sense and just solved everything a bit too easily.

I have read this book once or twice before but, as I didn’t write reviews at the time, I never posted one. As I have just re read this book, here is a review.
I liked this story and every time I read it, it hooks me from start to finish. I read this book in one sitting and was satisfied throughout. After going through a heart breaking event and losing nearly everyone he loves, Knox wants revenge. Jasmine is what is going to get him that revenge. He wants to use her and leave her broken just like he was. As Knox works to worm his way into Jasmine’s heart, he starts to develop feelings for her. But will his need for revenge over power his love for her. The chemistry between Knox and Jasmine was clear to see. Because of his need for revenge, Knox tried his hardest to resist falling for Jasmine but he just couldn’t. It wasn’t long until he realised how afraid of losing her he was. I really liked that Jasmine didn’t run when Knox was being an angry jerk. His mood swings changed rapidly. I liked that although Jasmine needed space and time to think, she still wanted Knox. Despite learning of his plan to use her for revenge, she wasn’t angry with him. She understood his reasons.
I really liked the epilogue for this book/so many years later. The love between Knox and Jasmine was stronger than ever. I wanted more of Knox and Jasmine.
The storyline for this book is easy to follow and an enjoyable read. I cannot wait to read more books from this series.

Side not: I love the entire story but I do have one favourite scene. That was the club-dancing scene. The girls dancing and singing to timber and Jasmine dancing with Jeremy and Cade made me smile.

Such a beautiful and heartbreaking story. Jasmine has been has been in an emotional prison her entire life. Her parents have shown few emotions towards her but have made their preferences known and she has had to toe the line and do whatever they have said and followed their rules always. Public appearances, classes she has taken, activities she has enrolled in and even what her major was in college. The day she turned 22, she had had enough. She walked away from them and that life for good. Hidden in plain sight in NYC, Jasmine along with her best friend Summer, begin to make a life for themselves that's all their own.
Knox had a wonderful life growing up until he didn't. One accident causes his whole world to collapse upon itself. All he has left is his younger brother Rex and the family business. All he can think about is revenge and retaliation.
She was a part of his plan. She was never supposed to mean anything more. He was never a apart of her. He breezed in and started tearing down the walls she has so carefully built. He wanted her, needed her, but how was he supposed to let everything go?
A beautiful story of discovery. Secrets being revealed and finding themselves.

The basic storyline of the book was good, there are sooooo many errors that it ruined it for me. The hero and heroine have sex at one point in the book. We get plenty details of the act, start to finish, even down to them discussing why they aren't using a condom. Then, later on several chapters later the heroine is saying how they are finally going to give in and have sex for the first time that night. Really? What the hell? She talks about how they have been holding out for the final act. Then, the hero leaves before she wakes up and another part in the book talks about how they have been having all this great sex and a chapter later the hero is saying he feels bad for running out after the one and only time they've had sex. Lots of errors! Lots! You go from past tense to present in the same sentence throughout the entire book. Overall it would be a good story if a good editor would give it a run through.

Review originally posted at Ramblings From This Chick

Finding Us is the first book that I have ever read by Megan Smith. I am a NA junkie, and the blurb of this one really drew me in. Two main characters with secrets and messed up pasts trying to find their way really intrigues me, and I thought that Knox and Jasmine's story was sure to be a home-run. I thought that this story had a lot of promise, and it could have been really great. But there were several things that really kept me from being able to rate this one higher and fully enjoy the story.

Jasmine Jennings lives with her best friend Summer in NY. She left her parents and past behind her with nothing but Summer and her trust fund. Summer and Jasmine made friends with Rex right after they moved to town, but they didn't meet his brother Knox until one night when they go to their favorite club that Rex and Knox co-own. Knox and Jasmine are drawn to each other, but Jasmine does everything she can to avoid him from that point on. When Knox starts appearing on her daily runs and at her work, she tries to keep things as brief as possible. Summer ends up convincing Jasmine to head to Myrtle Beach with her and Rex and Knox. Jasmine intends to spend as little time with him as possible, but once they are there that becomes impossible. Jasmine and Knox grow close and end up deciding to see where things between them will go. Knox is still struggling with his past though, and has had a plan of revenge for everything he lost. Can Knox leave behind everything he lost and get past his plans? And what will happen when the truth about everything between them finally comes to light?

I feel like we never really got to know Knox. We got very brief portions of his POV, but honestly they were vague and didn't really give away much. He is in his twenties and inherited the business his parents owned. He is very successful and seems to have been very close with his group of friends before he lost almost everything. He was really caring when it came to his friends and brother, but he didn't seem overly close to anyone. He was possessive and protective of Jasmine even when he was fighting his feelings for her. He was basically a huge contradiction, and honestly he gave me a bit of whiplash when it came to his personality. One minute he was great, and the next he was cold and moody. Jasmine was hard to connect with for me. She was a bit childish and tended to whine a lot. For a good portion of the start of this story it was a case of poor little rich girl, and honestly I wanted to shake her at times. I did like some things about her, but I felt like she complained a lot but didn't really ever do anything about it. She had a great connection with Summer, and I thought that their friendship was great. I also felt like she and Knox had a lot of chemistry between them, but I never really got a feeling of more between them. They honestly seemed to circle around each other more than anything, and I never really saw an emotional connection develop between them. Especially when they never really opened up to each other. Knox tended to run away and shut down more than anything, and the only reason Jasmine found everything out was because someone else told her. He might have had intentions of telling her, but ultimately he didn't and I think that really hurt how believable their relationship was.

To me, this book felt a bit like debut novel or a first draft. I felt like things were on their way to a great story, but that it just needed some work. Since this is an ARC I won't go into errors or editing, but some of the paragraphs and sentences could have used some work. I felt like there were a lot of times that the sentence structure was off, and I would have to go back and re-read a bit to see what was going on. I think that this story could be really good if it was re-worked. The ending was another problem for me. We are given an epilogue, but things still felt rushed and abrupt. I still felt like Jasmine and Knox's connection wasn't strong or real beyond the physical, and we weren't ever really given more to them than that. There are also some things that happen in the epilogue that leave things up in the air for some of the secondary characters, and they had me a bit confused. I'm not sure if the author is setting up for more books or what, but it just felt unfinished to me the way she left things. I would hope that she intended to turn this into a series and that is why things were left the way they were, but I am not sure if that is the case or not. Besides the things I was critical about though, this story had some really great elements to it and that is what kept me reading. I was intrigued by all the secrets being kept, and about Knox's plan. I will admit that I had part of it worked out, but there was also some stuff that I didn't guess. I liked that I was kept guessing and that this story had twists and turns that I didn't see coming. I think that this is one that a lot of people will enjoy, and I think a lot of NA fans will find this book one that they really get into. I honestly think that this book could be great with a little work, and if it wasn't for the amount of NA books I read I probably would have rated this one higher. But there are so many great NA books out there that a book really has to stand out and be not only unique and different, but also believable as well as memorable. I will be curious to see what else Megan Smith does in the future, and if she writes more about these characters.
