Let’s build . . . a fort! Grab a pencil, draw the plans. We’ll construct it with our hands. Dad and son hit the hardware store. And then they start to build! Raise the walls up, hoist that beam. Real construction takes a team! When they’re all done, they’ll have the coolest fort ever!

i've said it once and i will say it again .. i don't get why when reading a book within KU, they minimize the book so it is super tiny and only in the middle of the screen ... so that mean the amazing illustrations are only in the middle of the page .. and the text is even smaller. i would recommend that they would get the real hand held book ... for your little one ... giftable, great read. i love the little pup .. so cute. great illustrations. so fun!
I read this book as one of my picture books. I think it would be a book for a little child. It had a dad and son working together to make a clubhouse for the two of them. The idea is cute, I’m not sure I loved the book though.
What is involved in building a fort or clubhouse? Join this delightful dad and his son and find out! This book is short enough to hold little ones or young readers attention.
The illustrations are bright and bold and very well done. The story is told in rhyme so its easy to understand and follow along with. The steps involved are picking the perfect space in the yard, drawing up plans, going to the store and picking out all the needed supplies, marking, measuring, sawing and hammering. This parent and child are a busy team!
Children will see the rewards of hard work at the end of this book. A very cute book!
I received this book from Goodreads First Reads. This is my own opinion.
I really like the author's poetic writing style. It is really cute as are Miki Sakamoto's colorful illustrations. The writing and illustrations went together well and it is just cute. The book is sturdy and well-constructed and a nice-size for small children to handle. Sue Fliess did a wonderful job with this cute book. I would recommend it to anyone with small children, especially due to Ms. Fliess's poetic style, which most children enjoy. I won this book from the Goodreads.com website.
This is an adorable little book about a boy and his father who set out to build a fort together. It’s rhymes, which makes it fun to read aloud. The illustrations in this book were adorable and complimented the story quite well. It will only take a few minutes to read through the book. This is a really great book for kids who love to build. The book is short, but has wonderful rhyme and really cute pictures.
I won a copy of this from Goodreads First Reads. My review has not been influenced in any way.
I really love this book! The illustrations are simple enough for a child to not be overwhelmed, but interesting enough at the same time to keep the child's attention. Very colorful too! The story is very cute and simple. Although it is a boy who is pictured, this could easily translate to little girls. My nephew is turning 4 in a week, and this will be going in his gift pile!
I got this book for my grand children and they loved it they are just learning to read and I have always stress the importance to my children and my grand children to read but they loved it
What I liked about this book was that it encourages parents to spend time with their children in building something fun. The rhyming wasn't perfect, but I could get past that.
