Falling for the runaway bride is the last thing I need right now. And I definitely shouldn’t offer her a job and a place to live. But somehow, that’s precisely what I do.
Once upon a time, I thought I had it all figured out. Until my life as I knew it turned on its head.
Now I stick to what I know — running my bar, brewing my own beer, and keeping my heart firmly off the menu.
Then Abbey Rhodes walks into my bar, still wearing her wedding dress, looking like she just escaped a rom-com gone wrong. She’s fierce, funny, and her heart’s as bruised as mine. The smart thing would be to send her on her way and avoid the trouble she brings.
As it turns out, I’m not as smart as I thought.
Which is why I find myself not only offering her a job, but also my spare bedroom.
The last thing either of us needs is another complication. But there’s something about Abbey that makes me wonder if there might be more to life than playing it safe.
Do I keep my heart locked up tight, or can I take a chance on a runaway bride who might just make me believe in love again?
Resisting my Roommate is an irresistible workplace romance that features: * A wounded hero who’s given up on finding his happily ever after * A runaway bride searching for a place to call home * Found family * Workplace spicy times * An epic grovel * And so much more

Resisting My Roommate is Book 3 of Sycamore Falls. It's a steamy, instalove, OTT, grumpy-sunshine, runaway bride, girl gets her boss-roommate romance. Jude is a hunky, grumpy, brewery owner who has sworn off love after extreme heartbreak. Abbey is a sweet, sassy, and determined runaway bride. She walked in on her fiancé and best friend, having sex 10 minutes before she was to be married. She flees only to be stopped for driving a stolen vehicle as reported by her douch canoe of an ex. She ends up in the small town of Sycamore Falls and walks into the Wicked Hops, Jude's Taproom, in her wedding dress with her head held high. She sees Jude again, as they previously met at a bar during her Bachelorette party, where he proceeded to speak about love being an illusion. She doesn't know what to expect from the grump, but he is immediately taken with her, even if he doesn't show it. They cross paths again that night, and he offers her his guest room, and the next day, a job at his brewery. OMG, these two... they both experienced so much loss and heartache. They were so perfect together, but I wanted to slap sense into Jude when he let her go. I'm so thankful they worked it out. Their chemistry was pure fire, and we got an amazing HEA after all the drama. I just loved this book and a couple so much. I can't wait for Finn's book next!!!.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Jude and Abbey’s story gave me all the feels this was such a beautiful emotional story full of explosive chemistry between the main characters my heart ached for Abbey and I was so glad her and Jude found their way to each other I loved the side characters and the overall story . I can’t wait for the next book from Tracy ! Loved it!
Tracy Leigh weaves a tale unlike any other in 'Resisting My Roommate.' The novel brims with sizzling chemistry between a possessive alpha nursing a broken heart and a compassionate woman who loves deeply, despite having faced abandonment from everyone she has ever known.
Leigh masterfully crafts their journey through emotional barriers and intense passion, leaving readers on the edge of their seats. Her vivid character development and nuanced storytelling make this a compelling read that explores the complexities of love, healing, and trust. Fans of romance will be hooked from start to finish by this poignant and gripping story.
Me dio risa que quien no ha soltado su pasado y a su ex sea Dylan, y no Abby, quien estaba a punto de casarse cuando descubrió que su prometido le era infiel.

THAT ENDING... WHY AM I SMILING & TEARY EYED AT THE SAME TIME?! AHHH... JUDE & ABBEY, YOU'LL WERE JUST...SIGH!!!
I'd read - Married to the Frenemy which is Beckham and Haley's book and it was such a heart-melting ride too and this one equally has made me fall head over heels all over again.
This one pulled me in right from the start, where we have this woman who's just found out a harsh truth and what was supposed to be the happiest day of her life, turns quickly into a freaking nightmare.
Abbey literally has nowhere to go and no family who's ready to help her out of her situation and to add to it, things just keep escalating. Until she walks into this bar and this stranger who becomes not only her saviour but also the man who's about to change everything for her.
Jude, is the proud owner of his bar but it's a special one as it's where the beers made by him are served and he loves what he's been able to do with his business. Except only the emotional wounds that are still fresh and haunting him and the past that still has him in its clutches.
Mind you, as much as this one is an emotional one it was a more Fun filled ride with lots of spiciness and also the teasing at the beginning where Jude and Abbey fight the attraction they feel.
I was glued to the pages, reading about this girl who's always been abandoned and never felt that support from her own family. I don't even care about what she's done or not, I hated to see Abbey all alone because she didn't deserve that and also yet the way she carries herself, her head held high and not cowering back - I truly admired how that girl marched ahead even when she didn't know what her next step was going to be.
I can fault Jude for being Stubborn and a little cold and cowardly at times but that man is such a Kind hearted one and definitely with a heart of gold and courage to go after his dreams.
I loved Jude's family so much and the way they welcome Abbey with open arms even knowing the situation.
Let me tell you, the emotional times are so freaking good and especially the way they express everything, even while not saying things and just making you feel... Everything had me absolutely melting and so freaking emotionally invested in wanting Jude and Abbey just somehow finding their way to each other.
Ahhh... What a sweet ride and then we get that tease about Finn and his best friend's book where he's thinking about offering to be his friend's baby daddy... I mean what... Gimmmee!!! I can't wait for their book next. Loved loved this one.❤️❤️❤️
Jude and Abbey's story hits you right in the heart! I devoured this story; it really grabbed me from the very beginning and didn't let go until I turned that last page. And then, I immediately downloaded the bonus scene, and my heart was so full!
Both Jude's and Abbey's backgrounds really pull at the heartstrings. Abbey's story is pretty much all laid out right away, with the most special day of her life getting turned upside down in just a matter of minutes. Determined to get as far away from that catastrophic event as possible, she ends up walking into Jude's taproom, still wearing her wedding dress.
I really loved Abbey. Her life has really been hard and quite solitary, not having either parental figure supporting her the way a parent should. She's made the best of her life though, and really thought she had it all until her ex-fiancé showed his true colors. She is so resilient though, and just keeps on moving forward because really, what else can you do?
The chemistry between Jude and Abbey was intense and all consuming. It was so obvious Jude had feelings for her, but something from his past kept holding him back, and I was so anxious to find out what it was! When it was finally revealed, it was just so heartbreaking, and I am so glad he had his family around him to keep him going each day. But now there's Abbey, is there room for her in his heart? It was such a rollercoaster to get these two on the same page!
I was cheering so hard for these two characters with such sad pasts to finally find peace and happiness together. They both deserved it so very much! I was glued to the pages until the very end, and I finished this story with sappy tears and a huge smile on my face. I am super intrigued about the next story in this series, about Jude's brother Finn and his best (girl) friend who is bound and determined to have a baby. This is gonna be so good!
Another fantastic addition to this amazing series!
Jude owns a very successful brewery, has a loving & supportive family but is basically living in his head due to suffering a devastating loss from a few years ago.
On Abbey’s wedding day, she shockingly finds her best friend/maid of honor in a room with her fiancé 10 minutes before her wedding’s about to start. Jumping in her car, she takes off to get as far away as possible from her now ex-fiancé. She lands in a small town & decides that alcohol is the first thing on her list that she needs. She walks into Jude’s brewery, still in her wedding dress, and decides to get a drink. Being in a small town, all eyes & ears are on Abbey. She sits at the bar and starts to rehash what just happened to her to the patrons around her. Jude takes pity on Abbey & offers her a much needed job & a temporary place to live until she can figure out what she’s going to do next with her life.
As the days go by, Jude is adamant about staying “just friends” with Abbey, while meanwhile, Abbey is getting more & more enamored with this small town and the people in it, especially Jude.
This is a wonderful book about relationships, love, loss and so much more. The setting of this story, as well as the characters, suck you in right from the start. I read this in an evening because I couldn’t put it down. Great beginning to a new series!
This is book three in the Sycamore Falls series. It can be read as a standalone.
The story is about Abby who drives into town as a runaway bride only to be pulled over by the local police for car theft. With nowhere to go and nothing but the wedding dress on her back she winds up in Jude's tap room. With a core of strength born of a not so perfect life, she sits down at the bar for a beer and some hard thinking.
Jude is a full-time tap room owner, beer aficionado, and part-time grump. He has had enough heartbreak to last a lifetime and has no room in his life for romance or love but he isn't as big of a grouch as it first appears. He offers to help the bride get back on her feet when he realizes she really has nowhere else to go.
His awesome family welcome her with open arms and of course, they see what Abby and Jude do not. That broken hearts do heal and love always finds a way when the time and person is right.
This is a well written small town, grumpy/sunshine romance. Complete with flawed humans, found family, a bit of angst, and a lot of love. There is no cheating, no obvious OM/OW drama, and a sweet romantic HEA. Gah! Yes, I recommend this if you are looking for a light romantic story.
What a beautiful and fun story to lose ourselves in. This book was fun, endearing and sexy. Evey moment was a true delight!! Jude and Abbey’s story is definitely heartwarming, heartbreaking and heart-gripping. A triple threat!! I absolutely adored these characters. Jude is struggling with putting his past and grief behind him, while Abbey deals with betrayal. When Jude and Abbey meet for the first time there’s a notable connection regardless of the fact that she’s getting married. When her wedding goes haywire Abbey runs and ends up back in Jude’s bar. From that moment on their lives change. Going into a friends with benefits arrangement and sharing a house seemed alright but we all know that in romance books this always turns into love and in this case it does, but Jude isn’t willing to put his past behind him and take a chance with Abbey.
The chemistry and connection between Jude and Abbey is sizzling and touching. Jude is a the hero who shows Abbey that a man can be charming, giving and caring. We can’t help but love him but he surely has us cursing him for not moving on. As for Abbey she finds a family that loves, supports and respects each other, something she craves and wants for herself. The family dynamics are interesting and I enjoyed them. All in all this book is just the right balance of drama and steamy. A recommended story for those who just love a GREAT and INVITING romance.
Did you ever hear the joke that started… So, I was sitting in my local bar and in walks a woman in a wedding dress… Yep, not sure how that one ended, but with Resisting My Roommate I can say the ending is dang good. Uh wait, this is a Tracy Leigh story, so I really should have known it would have an uplifting finish.
Jude and Abbey… what can I say? Both dealing with disappointments and hardships, both hurt by those they thought were their partners, and both needing to take a look not only at what is around them, but also within themselves. Tracy Leigh has a way of taking the reader deep into her character's thoughts and minds. She presents the narrative, but gives the reader time to immerse themselves in, see the situations, and feel what the heroes feel.
Watching the realization grow from roommates to more is what makes Resisting so much fun. Even the supporting cast…some good, some bad… only add to the intrigue and the humor. In the end, it is wonderful to see that the proposed joke at the start has a really good message at the end.
I loved this book. It starts with Abbey and Jude meeting in a bar... the night of her bridal party... and somehow they wind up living together... and healing together.
Abbey is one who tries to keep a positive attitude - and so, is blindsided by her fiance's misbehavior moments before the wedding is to take place. When she stands up for herself and leaves, fiance pulls one stunt after another to try to force her to come back.
Instead, she winds up walking into Jude's bar - and working for/living with him! While the attraction between them is immediate, both resist because of past hurts (Jude's, which we don't learn the full extent of until well into the book, is gut-wrenching); eventually, though, they give into it... to an extent. It takes the rest of the story for them to fully accept and embrace their feelings.
This book had everything I love in a good romance - humor, strength, conflict, resolution... it was just delicious to me. I can't wait to see that Tracy Leigh has in store for us next!.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Smart goals…. I’ll never think of goal setting the same way again.
Jude and Abbey, have a connection even as strangers in a bar. And when she walks in to his Taproom on what should be the worst day of her life, she finds out her life is just beginning and she might just be where she’s meant to be. I shed tears for both Abbey and Jude, what a past both of them have. Absolutely and completely different but you feel their heartbreaks. These two are jaded by life, Abbey always the optimistic trying to push through every obstacle and Jude just existing, trying not to feel. But their chemistry and connection from their first encounter is too strong to ignore and they both start living life again.
Living life means new challenges, opportunities can be beneficial or damaging depending on how you look at them. Jude and Abbey need to find out if they’re on the same page or in different books. Is love worth it all.
Side note: love having Grandma Estelle and her crazy comments. Loved her meddling in Beckham and Haley’s story too.
Amazing… I devoured this book in two days!! I couldn’t help falling in love with Jade & Abby’s Story. Resisting my Roommate is book 3 in Tracy Leigh’s Sycamore Falls Series but can be read as a standalone.
I found this a fun romance story but Leigh’s never ending ability to include intrigue, heartbreak, mystery and let’s not forget the sizzling chemistry makes this book even more fun. But seriously, who can resist a story of a runaway bride and a man who can’t seem to move forward. Two broken people who seem to find a connection. Although this story deals with some heavy issues Tracy Leigh is a master at weaving her creativity into such matters without torchering your soul. Let me tell you this story will be hard to put down giving it 5 shining 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 I can hardly wait for the next book in the Sycamore Falls Series. I received a free copy of this book for an honest review. However, I always purchase said books!
Jude was one of the most cynical men that Abbey could ever have met, especially during her bachelorette party, but he had good reason. He didn't think that Abbey looked particularly thrilled about her upcoming wedding.
A week later, a runaway bride walks into his bar, and Jude is actually surprised to see it is in fact the same woman! Abbey has found herself in Sycamore Falls with only the clothes she has on her back, not really knowing where to turn next. Jude surprisingly steps in to help offering her somewhere to work and stay until she gets on her feet.
Both of them have been seriously burned by love, and certainly aren't looking for it, but that's when it usually sneaks in there, and this story is all about that.
Great writing as usual, has you gripped from the start of this heartwarming small town romance. Can't wait to hear about more of the townsfolk.
I received a copy of this book from the publisher/author to review.
This book was so much fun to read. This is the story of Abbey and Jude. I wil warn you that your emotions will be all over the place by the end of this book. But don't all the best books really hit you in all the feels. Abbey is truly alone in this big old world. She is in a mess and not a soul there to support and help her. Her sedition just keeps getting worse and worse. Little did she know that one trip into a bar would cha he's her entire life. Jude is the owner of that bar. He loves to craft his own beer and serve it in his bar. He has worked hard o. His business and is so proud of what he has been able to accomplish. However emotionally he is struggling. He has a Sitton too that has left him emotionally scared and still has him deep in the clutches of the mess that has caused. These are two souls lost they find one another. You do not want to miss this book.
My heart is so happy at the moment. I love a good romance. I absolutely adored Resisting My Roommate to the point that I will be reading it again and again. When I am feeling down and hopeless, this will be the best medicine. I f you have ever felt love was hopeless this story will change your mind.
Tracy Leigh makes romance cliches so entertaining. A runaway bride walks into a bar...A grumpy bartender lends a hand. Two strangers find themselves working and living together. What happens next is anybody's guess. The will either kill each other or fall in love. Maybe it is a little of both.
Jude and Abbey's story is a slow build romance with a lot of challenges. Jude is his own worst enemy. Abbey has her own issues. The journey to their happily ever after kept me entertained for hours. Restistance is futile. Love is the best medicine.
As soon as I started this I was hooked. Usually happens when I read anything by Tracy. Abbey being the runaway bride after a devastating and betrayal from her fiancé that she found out the day of her wedding right before she woke down the aisle. I fell in love with her right away. So she goes into a bar and has a drink with her wedding dress on and has a conversation with a guy who she had spoken to previously at her bachelorette party little does she know he’s the owner of the bar and offers her a place to stay.
Jude is one sexy man and as the story unfolds and the chemistry between them gets very intense and they have so much in common. Jude had a past as well that he hid but as time goes on he tells her everything and the rest is history. I really enjoyed this book I couldn’t get the bonus scene fast enough. Can’t wait to see what is next
She rolls into town with literally nothing but the wedding dress on her body, her life in shambles. He offers her a job and a place to stay while she gets on her feet.. both of them have been burned by love and it’s the last thing they’re looking for but it might just be the thing that saves them both. This is such a sweet story about love, conquering all, and finding red redemption in the most unexpected places. They both have to overcome their past and learn to trust. They can’t deny their chemistry and get sidetracked by passion before they realize it’s love. This one just has you rooting for both of them and waiting for their happily ever after. The character development is good and you really feel vested in their story.

This was such an excellent read. I loved how Jude and Abbey had a brief encounter that had such an impact on both of them before they truly met. It set the stage for a little angsty chemistry brewing.
The way Abbey's whole world swiftly fell apart was awful and it really made me feel for her plight. Jude showed early on that he has such a good heart, and I loved how he was instantly protective of Abbey.
These two work through some tough obstacles and Jude especially does an incredible amount of growing throughout this book. It was lovely to see his walls come down and for him to learn to thrive again.
I loved seeing Abbey feel at home and become part of the family and extended friend group, she truly found her place to belong.

This is book 3 in Leigh's Sycamore Falls series and can easily be read as a standalone. Leigh delivers a wonderfully well written romance with sweet, steam and all the in-between. Our main characters are Jude and Abbey. Abbey is starting over with a broken heart and alone. Jude is a successful bar owner, alpha and protector of his heart after experiencing a devastating loss. The chemistry between these two is undeniable but broken hearts are hard to mend. I loved this small town, grumpy/sunshine romance read. Jude's family support was incredible to watch, and I loved how Jude and Abbey came together for their HEA. A beautiful love story!
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Sweet, Sexy, Funny, Sad and Angsty. This one had it all! I loved both of the main characters. Both flawed, both had demons to conquer, both did and we get our HEA. This author tackled some serious issues in this novel, but it never got so heavy I had to put it down. I love this book and this author.
Would definitely recommend reading the trigger warning. Was not a problem for me, because I've never had this experience, but I'm sure there are those out there that might have a strong reaction to the trauma that was torturing the hero in our story. Then again, it may be therapeutic, reader needs to decide.

I voluntarily read and reviewed an ARC of this book. This is the 3rd book in the Sycamore Falls series. Each book can be read as a standalone. Abbey has just caught her fiancé cheating with her best friend minutes before they are supposed to walk down the aisle. She flees only to be pulled over for her car reported stole. Technically, it is his car. Down on her luck, she heads to the first place she sees, which is a perfect place to drown her sorrows. Jude is the owner of Wicked Hop, where he makes and serves his own beer. After his life turned upside down, he poured his heart into it. Never allowing anyone else close to him. I love this book and am so glad we got to see grandma Estelle make an appearance. Can't wait for more from this series.
