Dive into The Ice Queen Series for all the emotional thawing, swoon-worthy tension, and super steamy scenes. (And yes, there’s a Happily Ever After waiting for even the iciest hearts.)
CEO Helena Wolfe is the ultimate corporate predator—cold, ruthless, and untouchable. She thrives on competition and control, ruling the boardroom with an iron will and icy precision. But when she’s forced to team up with Sloane Callahan—a sharp-tongued, equally ambitious corporate lawyer—sparks fly. And not the friendly kind.
Their rivalry is legendary. Their banter? Scorching. And when a business trip mix-up leaves them stuck sharing a hotel bed, their professional tension ignites into something far more undeniable chemistry.
Helena is determined to keep her walls intact, but Sloane’s wit, charm, and refusal to back down make resistance impossible. As their passionate clash deepens into unexpected intimacy, both women must confront the emotional barriers holding them back.
Can Helena let her icy armor crack for the one person who sees through it? And will Sloane take the risk of falling for the woman who’s perfected the art of staying distant?
Expect one bed drama, razor-sharp banter, and two powerful women discovering that love might be the biggest challenge of all. For fans of rivals-to-lovers and Ice Queens!
Helena is the frosty ice queen, stressed by the pressures of being the CEO of Wolfe, and the expectations of her father. Sloan is the corporate lawyer of a competing company, and they are planning a merger. Helena is insistent that Wolfe will be the dominant company in the merger, but Sloane is trying to guide them to an equal merger. After reading the previous ice queen story from Emily Hayes, I thought this would be similar. However, the writing here seems more naive and cheesy, but it’s hard to pinpoint what the issue is. Is it too much ‘tell’ and not enough ‘show’? The story is good, but quite contrived. There are also several errors of continuity. Both main characters are good, and I especially liked Sloane, a corporate lawyer with a heart. However, overall I thought this story wasn’t nearly as good as some other work I have read by Emily Hayes.
I really don’t know what happened to the author‘s writing style…The first book of the series was great and I thoroughly enjoyed it, but this…
Don’t get me wrong and this might be harsh to say but for someone reading student papers written by ChatGPT - this read like one of those. I’m not saying this is what the author definitely did, but it gave me such strong AI vibes that I want to address my concerns.
Maybe the dates for publishing the books of this series were too close to each other and couldn’t be moved, so she rushed through the writing process and that’s why it feels off. Idk, but for me the book wasn’t enjoyable at all and left a bitter taste.
I thought I‘d read all of the books in this series, but I’m incredibly reluctant now. This simply wasn’t well done. The conversations felt off, the whole plot was rushed and the characters lacked depth.
It makes me sad to actually write this review, because I was in a bit of a reading slump lately and considering how much I liked the first book I thought this would pull me out…However, the only thing it did was leaving me disappointed.
Helena Wolfe of Wolfe Enterprises is facing off against Sloane Callahan during a business negotiation.
(Helena's father is pressuring her for instant results, and is threatening to replace her if needed. Asshat.)
Sloane is out to protect the interests and jobs of her client, and is ready to push back against Helena.
This is a lot more error filled than the others, in a editorial way. Lots of multiple characters speaking in the same paragraph. Also, book 2-4 all felt moderately rushed due to being only 150 pages or so.
Emily fantastic story. I can't wait for number five. I truly love all the sexy scenes and the way it all came together. You are one AMAZING author. Keep up the great sexy writing. Please
