This Book 6 in The Cherry On Top Tales Book Series has an instant attraction, contemporary romance story, a well-crafted world, and interesting characters. These characters have unique personalities, intertwined histories and believable interactions. She is pondering her life and lack of love from partner in life, when her assistant offers up his cabin rental for the holidays. After checking out the amazing photos of the cabin and surrounding landscape she agrees to go for the holidays with her cat. He has retreated from civilization to his cabin 5 years ago and even bought the property next door for privacy. His sister tells him she has rented out the property to a couple for the holidays for a wedding proposal. He allows the rental, but they are not who shows up. He sees her when he goes to complain about the loud Christmas music and he promptly tells her to leave because she is at the wrong address. She shows him her transfered contract for the rental. Follow their story as it has a rescue, chemistry, a misunderstanding, twists, turns, romance and love. I recommend this holiday story.

Unpopular Opinion: I have never been a big fan of Christmas-y holiday stories.
That was until I read this book!

I should have known I would love it because anything C.D. Gorri touches turns to pure gold! HIS WOOD, HER FIRE is an insta-love holiday, romance novel and insta-love has always been my favorite trope that I wish I could find in more books.

This seasonal delight had it all: spice, angst, grumpy-sunshine and engaging main characters that made this story such a wonderful reading experience.

If you want something short, light and very spicy, then check out HIS WOOD, HER FIRE!
It was simply sublime!

Gloria is 40 years old and does not want to spend Christmas alone going to holiday parties. Bo is 45 and hates people and wants to be alone. He owns a couple cabins and Gloria just happens to be able to rent one over Christmas. They both think they'll get to be alone until they meet and sparks fly. Of course Bo is always doing something to mess everything up but but he always comes through in the end. This is an exceptional story, a wonderful holiday read, has laugh out loud moments and is steamy hot. It is a feel good story from beginning to end and I loved it. Perfect holiday read.

A Fated Meeting

Another swoon-worthy romantic, witty read from this series!

Gloria just wanted to get away for Christmas, Bo just wanted to be left alone. Together they were explosive and once they got over initial meeting, well let’s just say the fun and sizzling passion started,

A later in life read showing that romance and love can be had at any age with a few surprises along the way.

You’ll love the romance and the festive feel to this wonderful read!

This book was so great. I love that she kept thinking out loud and getting busted for it every time. And she had no problem telling him off! "Well, f*ck you too, Mr. DuBois." LMFAO! Classic.
Despite their initial chemistry, they still came together. It wouldn't be a good story without the typical misunderstanding, of course. Regardless, Bo refused to give up and he managed to get Gloria to understand. They were so clearly destined to be together. And with the spice that they had, I'm very happy for it!

What a delightful holiday story. The sneaky things he did after he realized he wanted her forever. He was a grump with a soft heart. Loved the surprise ending and the epilogue was a great finish. I love these stand alone stories in this Cherry On Top series. Short, sweet and swoon worthy.

Well, this puts the meaning in the saying 'insta-love'. I don't mind the trope, but this is on a whole other level. For me, things moved way to fast, not the s3xy time, I'm all for that. But wow.

Oh, and the animals. They seem to be more a plot device than anything. I keep wondering who was looking after them. And wasn't it just lucky this 'huge dog' (no idea what kind, we're never told) and cat were besties, just like that. A cat she'd never let out of the house.

Nitpicking aside, if you want a palette cleanser with little substance, this could be just the ticket.

Gloria doesn't want to spend another holiday going to parties acting happy, so when a co-worker offers her a cabin in the mountains she jumps on it. What she doesn't know about is the huge sexy mountain man who owns the place.

Bo doesn't do people, he has the wealth that affords him solitude but then she shows up. He wants her and her festive ways gone, but does he really?

Gloria wants to tell Bo what she really thinks of him until he literally wraps her up and whisks her away.

Can these two lonely souls find more than a weekend tryst or will they freeze it all out.
This is a sexy holiday story. I loved these two and I am so glad they figured it out.
