Jack Daniels Thriller #24
Bourbon Hammer
SOME DRINKS ARE TO DIE FOR...
If your name is Jack Daniels, you must have a soft spot for whiskey.
So when former Homicide cop Jacqueline "Jack" Daniels gets an opportunity to tour one of the oldest distilleries in the U.S. she's hoping for a fun getaway with friends.
It doesn't matter that the distillery is supposedly haunted. Or that it is the source of dark rumors--going back over a hundred years--of missing and murdered people.
After a lifetime of dealing with serial killers, Jack knows the odds of running into another one are astronomical.
Right?

Yeah….. I am a huge fan. Instead of reviewing the story, I will just say that his stories are darkly humoured, fast‑paced thrillers that mix graphic serial‑killer craziness with snappy repartee and a tough, witty female detective at the center with her gang of eccentric friends. What makes this series more fun, is that Konrath stories are found in the same universe, with many cross-over characters and fan favorites. These are always a guilty pleasure and much fun to read!

I love this series despite the fact they keep getting more and more ridiculous with each new entry. I would describe these as comedy horror with action. The horror parts are horrific, with strong body horror, blood and gore. The comedy parts are slapstick and silly at times but the humour is definitely needed to break up the bleak circumstances the characters are facing. Again, because Jack and friends just can't go anywhere without being attacked by crazed lunatics. After 24 books I was expecting more deaths, particularly some well known characters (secretly hoping for the kid) but I'm happy with those who survived.

If you’ve read this series, you already know serial killer chaos ensues. This is book 24, and somehow they never get old—just more ridiculous, maybe. This is also the only series this long that I’ve actually kept up with, which says a lot.
These books are funny as hell but also horrific as shit. It’s slapstick comedy with some potty humor mixed in with crime, gore, and serial killers—and somehow, it just works. You’ll laugh, cringe, and probably need therapy after, but it’s worth it.
Also love the rating scale Konrath gives us for these categories in each book. Can’t wait for the next one!

* If you don’t like thriller, bad language, sex, violence, you probably should skip this series. However you don’t know what you’re missing. So try it!
Another great addition to this awesome thriller series. Jackie, Phin, Harry, Herb and Chandler are back in action. They get caught up in trying to solve murders at a haunted whiskey distillery. Just leaving it there. Don’t want to spoil anything. Nice twist with Sam, Harry Jr . and Mary, Jackie’s mom getting involved in the action.

Yet another great Jack Daniels story from J.A. Konrath! I’m not going to go into any great details/give spoilers; but this one may be one of my favorites in the series.
As with every JD story; you know there’s going to be something bad going on (and of course mayhem)! The story does not disappoint!
And Sam is becoming one of my favorite characters. She’s definitely JD’s kid!

Best Jack Daniels book yet
J.A. Konrath is my favorite horror/action adventure author. His Harry McGlade character reminds me so much of a friend of mind, who like Harry, was crass, flawed, and yet someone that could make me laugh in the toughest situations. And like my friend, Harry is a true friend to Jack.

What Could Go Wrong
If you read this book, you have probably read others in the series. This is just as much fun as the other 23 books.
Leaving Sam and Harry, Jr. with Mary for Haunted Distillery tour sounds like heaven. But of course it isn't.
Loved it. Sorry there's only two left to go.

Always a good time
Thanks for the new book! For people who have read this series and enjoyed it, particularly the last few, - you’ll enjoy it. It’s always a good time when the gang gets together. Suspenseful, fun, and funny - exactly what I needed.

Trouble always finds Jack
A tour of a haunted distillery turns deadly for Jack and her friends. Looks hopeless until Sam and Harry Jr. save the day.
Another Jack Daniels page turner.

Another quick hitter from Konrath involving our favorite group of characters. This time, it makes you want to be leery of distilleries. ;) Just kidding. It’s a great plot that has you turning pages like you’re devouring your favorite meal!

This book seems to be a contract fulfillment. It is disappointing; I have been a Konrath fan fir nearly 20 years and was always pleased until this book. I listened to it and I don’t understand why a mediocre male is the narrator for a woman’s story. There should have at least been a female narrator for Jack and Sam’s chapters.

Another good Jack Daniels book. Jack and her friends decide to go on a haunted brewery trip. Most of the gang is here and of course things are not what they are supposed to be.

The 24th book in the Jack Daniels mystery series. Intriguing characters. Fast-paced mystery.

Another favorite!
Always a great time with Jack and "the gang"! This one was touching and, yet, had me laughing in tears!

Honestly, a reason for my lower rating was just due to the puerile jokes, and McGlade becoming a big part of the story. The gag jokes got old after a while
(Which should be all the more telling since I consider myself somewhat of a “manchild” and am not easily offended).
At various points in the story, I found myself skimming through just to get through the moronic dialogue.
I hope in future books, Harry has a small part as comic relief instead of being one of the central characters
