About the author

Blake A. Hoena grew up in central Wisconsin, where, in his youth, he wrote stories about robots conquering the Moon and trolls lumbering around in the woods behind his parents house, and the fact that the trolls were hunting for little boys had nothing to do with Blake’s pesky brothers. Later, he moved to Minnesota to pursue a Masters of Fine Arts degree in Creative Writing from Minnesota State University, Mankato.

Since graduating, Blake has written more than thirty books for children, including retellings of The Legend of Sleepy Hollow and the Perseus and Medusa myth. Most recently, he’s working on a series of graphic novels about two space alien brothers, Eek and Ack, who are determined to conquer our big blue home.

I actually really enjoyed this novel very much, it had twists in and throughout the novel that kept us on our toes. It is rare that I can find a book that my children enjoys, that I also enjoy as well, and this one fit the bill both ways.

Harley Quinn had a shocking surprise with many twists up her sleeve to keep Batman guessing as to what could possibly going on. Little did The Dark Knight know though, Harley was planning the catch of the day as a surprise party for Mr. J's birthday.

Batman novels by Super DC Heroes are clean and wholesome. I never have to worry about what my child my hear and learn when reading these novels to him, they never disappoint and I am always able to say that justice prevails through every trial that the hero must face.

Good to See BTAS in Book Form

Fun little chapter book featuring BTAS art. Hopefully this will bring kids to the show. A quick read. Classic Harley.

The story isn’t the most amazing, but it’s simple enough to keep the 5 year old engaged. The pictures are from the BTAC era and they’re frequent enough to gives the new readers something to look at yet sparse enough to get the new readers comfortable with several pages of text.

in this one it has Batman and Robin.I enjoyed it.Harley catches Robin and Batman shows up just in time to help save him.It is a short read.so if you like short chapter books go with this one.

This is the perfect starter chapter book for not only boys, but girls too. Harley Quinn may be on the wrong side of the law, but she definitely makes for an interesting bad girl. After kidnapping Robin with just a simple “KRAK!” of a crowbar, she uses him to get her hands on Batman. After meeting up with the Joker he provides readers with some corny jokes, which are actually funny.

Simple, straightforward reading adventure with Batman and the Boy Wonder. Robin actually is featured as the main character in this story, and I wonder if young male learning readers will identify with the kid who would rather check out a potential crime scene alone than do his homework... I also learned some new really bad really good fish jokes. Clever, and a nice use of sound effects and illustration throughout the text, as well as a short set of discussion questions and writing prompts following the story. A nice addition to a young reader's collection in a school or public library.

This is a chapter Batman book. The main characters was Robin and the evil Harley Quinn. It was a nice one where Batman does help in the end but was nice to read where Robin can be just as save the day as Batman. Was equally nice to read a 'side kick' of the evil guys to be a main character as well. My special needs teen age son whom I read this book to enjoyed it as well.

Love the story, but the illustrations actually bothered me by the end. They were very dark and body parts were often cut off awkwardly. There was only one full body image of Harley Quinn even though this book is about her !
