There are many aspects of this book that I liked. Overall, it is very well written and well researched. As a therapist myself, I have useful quotes hanging on the walls of my office for my clients to contemplate. Therefore, I appreciated the fact that the author thought to begin each chapter with a thought-provoking quote. The content of the book flowed nicely and in a logical manner, and the author cited his sources appropriately. The way the author writes is at a level that is easy understandable by persons ranging from adolescents to the elderly while maintaining the reader’s interest. The author discusses such topics as overthinking, the process of anxiety and how to develop coping strategies. Being a spiritual person and holding a degree in Psychology myself, I was particularly drawn to the information related to mindfulness, among others. I also liked that the author has a “Reflection” section at the end of each chapter to summarize what was covered. The author also discusses cognitive distortions and cognitive reframing and much more. Overall, I thought the author did an excellent job with this book and I highly recommend it for professional therapists as well as those individuals just seeking a good self-help reference book. Well done!
