Sometimes, Christmas Traditions Don't Go According to Plan...
Shelby Grant looks forward to her college group's annual Christmas trip to the rustic cabins at Lake of the Ozark State Park, even when it means being forced to spend a few nights around her frenemy, Julian Hart. When a massive winter storm hits Missouri, the rest of the crew cancels last minute, leaving Shelby and Julian the only two who make it to the cabin before the storm shuts down all the roads.
Stranded by themselves until roads are clear enough to drive on, will these two push past their dislike or will they be stuck hating each other for Christmas?
LIZ ZERKEL writes romance filled with humor, heart, and spice. She is also a podcaster with various shows, including Dick of the Week, where she and her co-host discuss everything they love (and sometimes hate) about romance.
When not behind the keyboard or microphone, she can be found reading, daydreaming about her next camping trip, or finding her new favorite restaurant to try. She lives in St. Louis with her comedian husband and two black cats, Phantom Cat and Shelley. You can find out more at lizzerkel.com.
Liz Zerkel does it again! I enjoyed the heck out of this Christmas romance novella. It was sweet and spicy and a lovely way to start off the holiday reading season. If you like long-time frenemies turned lovers, tons of cozy winter vibes, and a fun, quick read, you can't go wrong with this novella.
Julian & Shelby were part of a friend group that had been meeting yearly for a winter camping trip for the last decade. On this year they were the only ones to make it to the cabin safely due to a big snow storm. They were usually the two at each others throats annoying each other. The forced proximity forced them to talk to each other and get to know each other.
It was fun and I had a good time reading. It’s one of those stories where I maybe needed a little more building or something. Easily bingeable in a couple hours.
Hating You for Christmas was exactly what I wanted in a holiday romance book: it’s short, spicy and has a HEA!
I’m glad the author didn’t drag the book out needlessly. The focus of the book is the romance between two frenemies falling in love over a weekend and the length of the book is the right length for that. Even though it’s under 200 pages there are plenty of spicy scenes! Our two main characters have years of pent up sexual frustration / desire for one another that they can finally release!
This book was hilarious. It had me laughing so hard my husband actually turned to me and asked me if I was ok.
“Please don’t die or get seriously injured because it sounds so annoying to deal with the roads shut down. I’d have to store your dead body in the snow in hopes it stays frozen until someone could come to take you to the morgue.”
A frenemies to lovers, snowed in, holiday romance with loads of banter, plenty of spicy times, and giggle kicks. Once again Liz Zerkel gave me all the happy feels I needed. I highly recommend this book be added to your must read holiday TBR.
This was such a fun, fast paced, cozy, steamy, and heart squishy story! I love fôrced proximity, especially when there’s tension! Perfect holiday romance!
