Delilah is the pakhan’s daughter and she’s supposed to marry a man her father has approved of to join the families and strengthen family alliances😢 After much thought, she approaches the Italian mafia, specifically Santino Costa to ask for protection in exchange for anything he wants. With his help, she manages to run away on her wedding day👰
But now that she’s started her new life in Boston, she is still in danger as her ex is still looking for her but in the meantime, she’s become Santino’s mistress and she’s sure he’s trying to get her pregnant🤰
Loved this story as it has some real life elements thrown in but also a complicated relationship between Santino and Delilah and how they both have certain expectations from the other and how this changes over time. They also both had their own demons to work through to get to a point where they could make something special from their original circumstances😍
I’m excited for the next book in this series🤩 I received an advanced copy and willingly leave my honest review❣️
Valutazione: ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Spicy: 🌶️🌶️🌶️ Emozione: 💘💘💘💘
I’m all for these kind of books, the mafia romance, he falls first, touch her and die types, but this is such a half baked book. The MCs are both awful, they have ZERO real substance to their relationship, and frankly don’t even seem to like each other half the time. None of the story feels fully developed, sometimes it just randomly jumps without any explanation. I did not read any of the previous standalone works by this author, but it feels very much like someone’s first time dipping their toes into writing not the 5th book in a series.
MF Mafia romance. stand-alone series. I did not read previous books in the series.
Tropes Insta love for him Breeding kink Hurt her and ☠️ HEA
I’ve learned that for me insta love isn’t my favorite trope so my review will have a bias towards that. Insta love just makes the romance seem unrealistic to me and I crave the build up of a relationship. Delilah and Santino’s relationship went from a sexual one to “I love her” without any real substance. This was stated to be a dark romance but I didn’t get that vibe. There are sensitive topics such as alcoholism, abuse from non main characters, typical mafia blood shed/violence.
Delilah was forced into an arranged marriage by her unloving father who are both part of a Russian mafia. Her fiancé, Dimitri has proven that he’s abusive and so she was scoping a way out of marriage. Her only out is to find a bigger “monster” than Dimitri to gain protection. After scoping out potentials she discovered her best chance is with Santino.
Dimitri gets mad at her for not being where she’s supposed to be so he burns all her clothes, the ones she has collected over years to build a boutique with vintage clothes. That’s her final straw. She strikes a deal with Santino, who finds her intriguing but also he has an ulterior motive, she is the daughter to the man that burned downed his uncle’s house killing him, his aunt and his cousin Luca. The deal is that she gives him her body for his protection. Santino is a known player and never settles down so Delilah thinks this perfect for her. Once he’s bored of her she can go her separate way.
Santino arranged for her to escape on the day of her wedding. She escapes leaving Dimitri angry at the alter. Santino gives her an apartment plus 1k a month while also providing protection. 2 months pass and now Santino wants more from Delilah. She has had bad experiences with men and thinks there’s always strings attached. He gives her a key to his place and she freaks out thinking he’s trying to own, process and cage her. She’s an alcoholic who started drinking at 12 and she’s done a good job of hiding this from Santino who grew up with an alcoholic father. His father was also a gambler who beat his mother and his siblings (he’s one of 6 children) and were left with very little money, he felt he had no choice but to become a lone shark working for his Cousin Vinn. He dreamed of being rich so he wouldn’t have to live like he grew up.
Meanwhile, Dimitri has his goons looking all Over for Delilah who has made he a laughing stock and broke his pride. His goon Ivan found her and hit her and forced her into a car. Thinking she was either dead or being brought back to Dimitri, to only find out Ivan also has ulterior motives, he wants to take over Dimitri’s role. Ivan threatens her and said he won’t tell Dimitri only if she gives out all Santino’s moves. She tells him No but he said she has until the end of the week. She tells herself that she will tell Santino. But when Santino gives her the key she flips out and forgets to tell him.
Santino found out from those that witnessed what happened to “his girl” from those he protects. He ends up torturing and killing Ivan as a message. Santino doesn’t grasp why Delilah is denying the pull they have to each other. Delilah gets a call from Dimitri threatening her proving he knows where she is. She decides to (kinda) take things in her own hands and tells him to meet her at the Gala that Santino invited her to. She wants to flaunt her being with Santino to Dimitri. She does exactly that and Santino beats Dimitri and captures him (as she planned.). She feels guilty for using Santino and she apologizes for it and she actually was worried about Santino getting hurt.
He tells her to go to his apartment while he handles Dimitri. He is about to kill him but his brother reminds him he cannot just kill him with their bosses approval or this will start an all out war between them (The Italians) vs the Russians. He goes to Vinn, his boss. His boss tells him to release Dimitri to draw out Mikala (Delilah’s father) to kill him and his only heir. Santino cannot do that. So he goes back to his apartment after he releases Dimitri.
At his apartment he finally sees the signs of Delilah’s alcoholism. She drank a whole bottle of vodka as she’s going for another one. She’s spiraling thinking now that he’s seen who she really is that he will leave her. She decides to break up with him before he can. He tells her she cannot and say they are going on a vacation. He takes her to Italy to his grandparents grape farm. There he has a doctor for her and he helps her detox for a week or so. He nurses her to health. After she’s feeling better he tells her that his boss wants her dead. He said the only way he can protect her is if she gets pregnant with his baby. He threw away her birth control and has been not using condoms since the beginning. She’s confused on their relationship thinking he’s still treating as a transaction. He loves her but doesn’t want to scare her so he’s making it sound like a transaction. He tells her he’s gonna marry her but she still thinks he’s trying to own her. She takes a test and it’s negative and she’s confused on why she feels disappointed by that knowledge.
The Russians have found them and Santino gets grazed by a bullet and she shows her cards that she cares about Santino when she stitches him up. She finds out that her building she bought to start her boutique has building code issues. She hasn’t told Santino that the money he’s been giving her has gone towards this business. Santino is told that if he doesn’t come back that Vinn’s men have been told to kill them both. So they go back to Boston.
When they return back to Boston Santino tells Vinn that she’s pregnant with his baby (even though she isn’t) and that he can make a deal with her father. He meets up with her father who agrees to let him keep her under the condition that he kills Dimitri. Santino talks about his family and the cause of the fire and Delilah cannot believe her family did such a horrible thing. She asks to see a picture of his Cousin, Luca. Come to find out it’s her only best friend. She tries to tell Santino but he doesn’t believe her. Santino finds out about her secret business. She thinks he’s mad but he is understanding and even starts to help her out.
Dimitri burns her boutique down with everything inside it and her dreams are shattered a second time. She spirals again looking for a drink she cannot find and Santino is there to help her. After a couple days she decided to confront her father trying to get the truth about Luca. Santino sees her sneaking off and follows her. He sees her at her father’s house and now he’s spiraling thinking she’s betraying him.
She talks to her father and gets the truth that he kidnapped Luca making him believe his own family gave him up and turned him against his own family. She said she’s going to tell Luca the truth and her father kicks her out of the family. Her father calls her a whore which is triggering for her. When she gets back home Santino is there holding a positive pregnant test she didn’t tell him about. He’s angry at all her secrets and his loses his temper. He doesn’t call her a whore but his words sting and makes her feel like one and she shuts down. She tells him to leave and he’s trying to apologize. He leaves at her request to give her space and time.
Santino’s brother, Kill, comes to talk to Delilah and tells her that Santino loves her and he just sucks at the words and shows it in the only love language he knows, protecting. She realizes she’s been so stuck on how she felt that she never considered she was hurting him. She goes to find him at his fighting ring where he’s fighting. She goes to him and tells him she loves him and that she’s sorry. She tells him why she went to her dad’s house and the truth about Luca. She shows him pictures with her and Luca together as proof. He wants to see him, so she takes him to the “grocery store” that he works at.
Luca pretends he doesn’t recognize him and tells him he needs to leave to get them out of there. But it’s too late. Luca has to act like his on the Russians side. They are taken Delilah’s dad’s house. There Santino is tied up and Dimitri has a gun to his head. Delilah refuses to leave his side. She knows about the knife he has hidden and decided to make a distraction to give him time to get to his knife and get free. During this distraction, Santino gets free stabs Dimitri in the leg and he drops his gun which Santino gets and shoots Dimitri. Luca shoots Mikala. They are free.
The ending feels clipped short and there wasn’t a cute epilogue. Everyone is happy that Delilah brought Luca back to the family and she is considered a hero and everyone excepts her into the family. Santino and her get married and that’s the end.

I COULDN'T PUT THIS ONE DOWN AT ALL. I love a story where the hero is so freaking obsessed with the girl that he'll do anything, cross any boundaries to ensure she doesn't go anywhere and Vanessa gives us that and so much more in spades in this book.
The way this book starts off, set the tone in such a way that I was hooked, watching the action in the scene unfold and already I could tell that Delilah was a strong girl and even though she had her flaws, yet she was taking charge of her life and making her own path.
This path lands her straight to one of the most dangerous men, Santino Costa and even though she knows she'll have to pay a hefty price for the help she needs from him, she'd rather pay that price than give away her life to the devil.
Honestly, I felt this book lured me in with its writing and the way the story takes its turns but then... SANTINO FREAKING COSTA just takes charge and he had me as much obsessed with him as he was with Delilah.
There's raw Intensity & raw Passion between Santino and Delilah such that it had me gasping from all their fiery times but also just the intimacy of the moments shared between them felt so real and hottt.
Let me tell you, the CHEMISTRY IS INSANE & is so alluring and seductive and Passion filled, that I seriously couldn't get enough of them.
We also have a lot going on with the Mafia side and there are things that Santino needs to pay heed otherwise he might lose the most precious thing to him.
I really can't get over how Santino Costa might be a lethal man but he always thought about everything where Delilah was concerned. Her protection always came first.
Delilah, I felt had so many different sides to her, on one hand she came across as this strong and sassy girl but on the other hand, she was also a girl grown up in fear and always thinking of survival. None of the men in her life, right from her father, had ever cared for her and this made me genuinely feel for her and especially her reluctance to take things seriously with Santino.
I just wanted to push Delilah aside and want Santino Costa and all his broody, hot and Intense yet caring and obsessed energy all to myself. That man....oh my...*fanning myself because of Santino Costa being so 𝗌𝖾𝗑𝗒* 🥵🔥🌶️
I don't think I must have kept this book down, except it was super late & I had to at least attempt a couple of hours of sleep.
Freaking Devoured this Sizzling ride. Abso-freaking-lutely loved loved this one. 🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️
What did I enjoy about Trapped, all of it. Be warned, it does have some triggers and may not be your thing but if you’re drawn to mafia romance, this one will captivate you because Santino is not the typical boss and Delilah is not the person you think she is. Delilah is trying to leave her abusive finance that her father has promised her to. She runs to the only person that will keep her safe, Santino. Santino is a man that you never want to cross, he is a man of his word but knows how to play the game better, he created the game. When Delilah approaches him with her offer, he takes this advantage and plans to use his princess until he is bored. Little did he know that this woman will be the one that he never saw coming.
Delilah has plans that doesn’t involve a man to have her as a possession. She wants more out of life and is willing to do about anything to ensure she gets her freedom. She is a strong woman that challenges Santino and has wormed her way into his cold stone heart.
Once you start this journey you will be wrapped up and in the tangled web of the mafia and you will have fun with this ride.
There were part of this one I really liked but overall it was a miss for me. It's not a bad read, it's fine it just missed the mark for me.
H helps h escape her arranged marriage in exchange for some money and becoming his mistress. He falls first and wants to keep her.
I liked that this is a faster burn. They get it on for the first time around 13% or so. I've read a bunch of slower burns recently and this was a good change of pace. The spice is decent in this book.
The reason I didn't love it was the heroine. I almost always enjoy the heroine in any book I read but this one just rubbed me the wrong way. She caused so many of her own problems with being secretive and selfish.
I feel like some of the issues between her and H were just miscommunication but they seemed to willfully misunderstand each other, it got annoying.
No virgins No condoms Push away from h No OW drama Some OM drama No cheating No separation No 3rd act breakup HEA Epilogue
Safety - no cheating or OW drama. She has an angry ex-fiancé who's still looking for her and is out to get her back. H takes care of him.

This is my first book by this author.
This is my first book by this author and it was a great read. Delilah is looking for an out from the man she is supposed to marry and Santino is her out. I loved how brave Delilah was to even approach Santino because he was a very dangerous man but she was pretty desperate. I also loved that Santino fell so hard for Delilah and he kept trying to win her.
The writer has a great writing style and I enjoyed the story. It is lacking the angst that I usually like in my books but I still really liked the story. I think if you are looking for a man who is truly devoted and wants to win the girl then you will enjoy this book.
Delilah Romanov is what most people would call a mafia princess, but she has never been treated liked anything other than a piece of property by her father. Which is why she leaves her abusive Russian fiancé at the alter to seal the deal she made with Santino Cost, a member of Boston's most powerful mafia family, and an enemy of the Romanov's. It doesn't take long for Delilah to realize than Santino wants more than a bed warmer, he wants marriage and children, he wants forever. Wow, very steamy mafia romance with violence, murder, unexpected twists in the plot and a happily ever after that I recommend to other readers. Absolutely wonderful characters that kept me engrossed in this book. Each one has a highly developed and realistic personality that practically leapt off the page and kept me guessing. Fantastic must-read book.
I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book.
Let me start by saying my life is a hot mess so my dislike of this book may be me and not the book.
But there are problems with the book.
Things did not make sense. One of the most bewildering is the time jumps. Toward the end of the book the MMC and the FMC have a fight. We go from one paragraph to the next with a time jump of several hours but that is in no way marked to give us a heads up. This happens often through out the book - time passes with no mention of it.
During one fight the MMC is verbally abusive and later on the FMC is the one apologizing. Which can be triggering for those of us who have survived domestic abuse.
The source of the fights is the same thing over and over again. Which matches real life but *gestures to world* I’m trying to get a break from that right now. The story is a bit messy because of the introduction of a character who will be in a spin off.
At no point in time was I warned that the FMC would be dealing with her alcoholism.
So I started of at the bottom reading the Sinners of Boston. But it is ok, it is a stand alone. No I enjoyed the premise of the story. I love how SHE got herself the help she needed. She was a strong one, and knew what she needed to do to get out. Santino was a force to be reckon with, in the bedroom and out of the bedroom. He fell for her from the first moment she ask for his help. He just needed to get her on board also. Now what I didn't like, the constant back and forth of , you are a gold digger, oh I'm sorry you aren't , you lied , oh you didn't oops. You are a whore....oh shit did I say that out loud. I felt like all he did was put his foot into his mouth. I understand he wasn't a custom to asking, or loving etc. But dang man.
So my final thoughts , it was a good book. I enjoyed it. I will read more from Ms. Waltz. This one was a solid 4 on my scale.
This mafia trope romance was much more than the blurb. It’s a beautiful love story that starts off as an arrangement. Delilah is trapped by her father (Pakhan) and stepmother. They sold her off to a violent man. The physical abuse is mentioned but most occurred off page. Delilah is a survivor of both mental and physical abuse. Mind the triggers on these issues because Delilah had trauma and addiction to overcome and that was not expected from the blurb. The good part was that even though Santino had only made an arrangement with Delilah, to get her away from the abuser, he stepped up in a way that was impressive to get her real help and medical treatment. The care that evolved from both lead characters was good and they had a happy ending. Read On!
This was a good storyline, but the delivery wasn’t there.
Can I start with the MCs? I don’t like both, she’s more than him bc she annoyed me most of the time. I dislike him less not because he’s better, but because his presence wasn’t enough for me.
Also, this book is confusing, not about the story (it was typical mafia romance) but about everything else. First, the time jump. It feels like a whole experience was missing. Second, is this supposed to be an insta-love or slow burn? Well, it doesn’t matter because it’s neither. I can’t get the feeling of their love story. It was supposed to be insta-love for him, but the time jump ruined that. Their relationship progress was slow, but mainly because the FMC just couldn’t get her shit together. She kept running in circles, unproductive and annoying.
I didn't just read this because it's set in Boston! I read it because I love dark, mafia romance! I read it because Ms. Waltz does a great job with this trope and those that are symbiotic with it!
I love "Ultra Possessive Heros!, and Ms. Waltz handed us that on a silver platter with Santino!
This was definitely a roller-coaster, with plenty of twists and turns!
Did Delilah jump out of the frying pan and into the fire with Santino? It seems Santino wants MORE!
I loved being a voyeur into the lives of these two amazing characters!
This book had me so giddy!! I was laughing, kicking my feet, blushing and more. I loved every second of it! I mean, give me an FMC that has the MMC wrapped around her finger, spends his money like she’s on a mission and walks him like a dog while standing on business??😂 I’d eat it up!!! And this man??? His desperate obsession with her is the cutest thing everrrrr!! And he’s so soft with her I want to cry😩❤️ Most importantly, it’s how he took it upon himself to make sure she stopped drinking—took her to a doctor & stayed with her through her withdrawal process🥹💕
I devoured this book in one sitting and I loved every second of it!!
Delilah darling, thank you for spending that man's money!! It was such a fresh view to see an FMC who didn't hesitate to spend the MMC's money!!
She walked him like a dog and I absolutely loved every second of it🤣
Aside from the favourable spice and kinks, santino was such a sweetheart. Buying another building for her after the first was burnt down and spending over 80k dollars?
This man spent money on her like he was throwing water away. Guess Delilah's pussy worked overtime, lmfao.
Really loved this one and can't wait to read the other books in the series!
I thoroughly loved reading the awesome and amazing Mafia Romance and honestly couldn't stop reading the exciting story. Delilah wants to get out of marrying her abusive boyfriend, and the only man powerful enough to get her away is Satino who wants to own her in return for his help. Read the highly recommended, wonderfully written, and a must read riveting story engaging and captivating the reader from the first page of the story until the last page of the story. Can't wait to read the next story by the phenomenal author, Vanessa Waltz!
A gripping mafia romance that won't let go! Delilah is looking for money and it just so happens Santino Costa has the money she needs, as he's part of a powerful mafia family. It's a story filled with suspense, passion, and unexpected twists. The author did an extraordinary job with her character development; the chemistry between Santino and Delilah is off the charts. It's a gripping story that will keep you on the edge because of the dangerous mafia world. It's fast-paced and full of surprises. You'll be hooked from the first page to the last. Trapped is a must-read if you like mafia stories.
Trapped by Vanessa Waltz delivers an intense dark romance filled with manipulation and power struggles. The main characters' interactions are marked by psychological warfare; Delilah uses Santino to gain her freedom and thinks she has him wrapped around her finger but don't mistake him for a fool since he attempts to keep her with bim by getting her pregnant. Delilah's own struggles make the story even more gripping and emotionally charged. Santino is such a gentleman. This novel is full of unpredictable twists... I enjoyed so much. ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
I think Santino is a perfect hero. He did everything for Delilah, even though at first it was just an exchange for benefits. But when he got close to Delilah, he started thinking about having a family with her and wanted to protect Delilah forever, even if it meant she had to have children with him. For Delilah, I sympathize with her and she should find a man who truly loves her, and Santino is that man. Their chemistry is great. I like this story. If you are looking for a mafia story, the hero does everything for the heroine, I recommend it.
This book is the perfect mafia romance with an HEA. Delilah isn't your typical FMC damsel in distress. She's strong and bull headed which is such a great contrast to our MMC Santino Costa, a capo for the Italian mafia.
Santino is also the FMC's family's sworn enemy. Italian mafia does not take kindly to Bratva stepping on their territory.
The story sent me on a rollercoaster and I couldn't put the book down. I loved every second of this book, and the plot twist that came had me on the edge of my seat. I would definitely recommend this over and over again.
Trapped: A Dark Mafia Romance (Sinners of Boston) by Vanessa Waltz ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐/5 I’m a sucker for Mafia romance’s, and the amazing Vanessa Waltz never disappoints. Vanessa’s series Sinners of Boston has become one of my favorite mafia romance series to read. Trapped was such a good read, it captivated me from beginning to end. Vanessa did such a wonderful job of creating such an in depth plot, with characters that hooked you in. Santino was everything and more. Definitely a must read book and series.
Even though I’m not a fan of mariage of convenience, Santino’s obsession for Delilah made up for it. However, the constant back and forth of her not trusting him for no reason was getting old near the end. I would have loved a longer happy ending that lasted for at least 5 chapters where they were good together. 8/10.
Read on KU. Maybe I’ll dive into the rest of the series if the stories talk to me.
This book was too good😆. Too short for my liking😭 i would have loved to see more of this amazing couple actually getting along👩❤️👨. I got so sad when the book ended i loved it so much💔. The character development was amazing💃. The FMC was amazing she wasn't annoying she was a strong character full of sass and intelligence💪💅. The MMC was so hot classic mafia romance he was possessive and protective and kind but only to her hehe❤ over all this was a quick and easy read.love love love
Trapped is by a new author, Vanessa Waltz. Its part of a dark mafia series named Sinners of Boston. Delilah is forced into an engagement with a cruel man by her father who is Phakan of the Bratva. Demetri is a man that, enjoys being mean to Delilah. His latest offense has her going to meet Santino to make arrangements to leave Demetri at the altar to run away with her choice of the Italian mafia. They will get their HEA. CDC
I love this series. I loved the beginning of this book. I did feel like it started to drag in the middle. That said, I read this in less than a day, so, all in all, BY ALL MEANS, keep going. It's completely worth it. I felt gooey and mushy by the end. I was satisfied with the ending and had a smile on my face. And shouldn't all books leave us like that?
I enjoyed this story and I am so happy to be going back to Boston with the Costa clan. I don’t know what it is about this series but I’ve been hooked since the very first book. I loved how sweet Santino was to Delilah and how dedicated he was to helping her in Italy. The moment Delilah started to believe about herself what Santino tried showing her was everything. I can’t wait to see what’s next.
This book is being voluntarily reviewed after receiving a free copy courtesy of the author, Vanessa Waltz.
Wonderful story. Was hooked since the beginning and finished it in a few hours, that’s how good it was. The development of their relationship was perfect. They both have their reasons of why one is more careful and the other one wants results right away. Easy read. Suspenseful and action-packed.
Absolutely love the series and this one didn’t disappoint. Santino meets Delilah when she is running from her soon to be husband. She’s only suppose to be his playmate and he’s only suppose to be her protector. Fast pace full of drama. Love the characters and reading about previous books characters. I voluntarily reviewed this book for a honest review.
