Will Kaufman is the only Void Navigator the New Federation has left. Missions for the Phaelon's crew are practically unending.
When rumors of a mysterious and elusive marauding army ravaging colony worlds prove to be true, Will is given a new stop the marauders at all costs, or else Earth might be next.
But these foes have a Navigator of their own, and finding them proves next to impossible.
Exhausted and driven to the brink of insanity by the mysterious Void aberration known as The Hollow, Will must rely on his crew if he is to have any chance of protecting Earth from certain destruction.
As colony worlds fall and Earth sits exposed to invasion, the only hope of stopping this Mongol-like tide of destruction lies with the Vorvak Sert and his small army of elite warriors...
...If Will can survive long enough to get them to the battlefields.
Will continues his personal battle with the Void and the Hollow. Learning things never attempted before. In the nick of time to save Earth. And Sert reasserts the value of honor in the life of Vorvaks.
The universe continues to change and evolve. And Will and the team of the Phaelon are right at the crux of everything.
The climax of this story has yet to complete itself. There is always one more thing. So far every step has been different. The characters are growing together and being tested in huge trials. It definitely kept me reading, even when I didn't have time! I look forward to the next book of suspense!
Was not getting into this volume at the start. Really slow starting. But, earlier books were good, so I stuck with it. Glad I did. It really picked up toward the end and ended well. Still a cliff hanger, but a good end.
It kept me glued to my seat, as I read in anticipation of what would happen next. I completely lost it when the weather was discerned as "moist". Keep up the good work guys.
Great story, even though Marcus is still wearing on my nerves. Was he ever working with Will or just seeking a higher level adversary. We will see as the story progresses, great pace and interesting scenarios.
Will triumph yet again through grit and determination. The void battles were very interesting. Hopefully, all this has matured Will for the battles ahead.
I liked the first three books in this series. Enough to give them a passing grade. The fourth one, not so much and this one is continuing downhill. The AI is just annoying with his insults, the story a shambles and the main protagonist is oftentimes just stupid.
