Since he was a child, Kadafi blamed the infamous Wise Jacobs for the fact that he didn't have either one of his parents. When the time finally comes for Kadafi to get his revenge, he doesn't plan on everything going wrong. Unfortunately, he missed, and that's not good for him. Wise isn't the man to go up against without an army behind you. In addition to Kadafi having beef with the king of the city, he has to deal with the consequences of doing the unthinkable and losing the love of his life. Kadafi is trying to get money in his pocket, stay alive, be a good father to his kids, and nurse a broken heart. With all the odds stacked against him, he has to wonder if it's even possible for him to come out on top.
Yaminah was so in love with Kadafi that she didn't know what a red flag was. Until it showed up at her front door. Even after suffering the ultimate betrayal, she doesn't give up on love, and that proves to be a mistake. Yaminah is broken hearted and conflicted but if she doesn't know anything else, she knows that's it's better to be alone than take for granted.
1. I hate being the problem child but, oh well. I didn’t like this book. In my defense, I was already on the fence about Kadafi and I should’ve just stayed there. 🫣
2. Kadafi cheated on his girlfriend and got another woman pregnant then, proceeds to have a situationship with the same woman who blew his spot up for almost a year and a half. Make that make sense. 🙄
3. Then, to use the excuse that Jamaica was “easy p*ssy” to keep f*ckin’ her when he, supposedly, hated her was ridiculous. Kadafi could’ve found easy punani anywhere but, he chose to get it from the woman who was the villain in his love story and the direct cause of him losing the love of his life?!!! 🤦🏾♀️
4. When Yaminah found out about Kadafi’s infidelity and his love child, she gave him her azz to kiss, left Diamond Cove, and never look back. But, she can’t keep that same energy for a mofo who puts his hands on her?!!! Humph! 😒
5. These characters made some of the most questionable choices and they continually contradicted themselves. This book serves as a reminder of why I don’t like reading about characters in their early 20s. 🥴
6. The 3 stars was me being generous. The only reason I didn’t DNF this book is because, of the drama that popped off between Wise, Natalie, and Shane. Three books later and, he finally got the ending he deserved. 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
7. We didn’t need a book on Kadafi. He brought absolutely nothing to this already established group of characters. IMO, Kadafi is the odd man out and he’s not a good fit with the triplets. They don’t need another brother. 🤷🏾♀️
I didn't think Kadafi would ever redeem himself to me, but if Yaminah likes it, I love it...for her. This was a good story with lots of twists and turns. I can't wait for Chicago's story. I have a feeling he is gonna be brought to his knees.
This book was sooo good! I wasn’t too sure about Kadafi after the way the last book ended but he redeemed himself & his story was actually one of the best! I loved him & Minah’s relationship, & seeing the growth in his character throughout the book! He’s definitely one of my favorite’s of all the brothers!
Jamaica was so trash 😭 she got exactly what she deserved in the end!!
I love Wise & Chicago so bad 😂! Wise just can’t catch a break! Karma don’t let up off him at all!! But I’ve enjoyed seeing him change & grow throughout the series!! I couldn’t stand him in the first few books but I love him real bad now 😂!
This is one of my favorite series I’ve read this year!! I hope Chicago’s story is up next!!
A good read, though I'm not really sure another brother was needed. Kadafi didn't really add anything. Maybe he will be the one son that actually gives Simone the time of day. Kadafi's infidelity was surprising and given how much he loved Yaminah and seemed to despise Jamaica, made no sense at all. Yaminah was one of my fave female characters as she stood on business immediately. The stuff with Wise, eh. Like did we ever establish how the Bricks/Shane/Kadafi/Wise situation came about? I will say Wise IS that dude. I think he moved into my #3 spot. My ranking is:
Speaking of Loyal, can we please stop with him and ditzy Ryan in cameos, please? I only want to deal with Loyal as it pertains to his relationship with his brothers, dad and uncle.
Really enjoyed this series even though grown men with grandchildren were still having babies, out of wedlock babies were just popping up everywhere, and a couple of the women were slow as all get out. 6 books in 3 days. Safe to say I had a time lol.
Not a full 5 stars only because I need more of Kadafi and Yaminah — they had me hooked from the start!
Why would Natisha start this book like THAT?! 😳 From page one, I was locked in. Minah stood on business, my girl ghosted so fast like, wait, what?!
And then she stressed me out because… girl, why wouldn’t you just tell him?! 😤
The six degrees of separation between everyone had me holding my breath the whole time. I loved seeing Kadafi connect with his brothers, and the beef between him and Wise is on pause (for now 👀) gives me hope.
Speaking of Wise — he’s not the enemy you want! Seeing him active behind Natalie in this one actually made me say, “Okay Wise, you cool or whatever!”
Kadafi could’ve applied just a little more pressure, but in the end, he and Yaminah are locked in and I love that for them 💕
Simone… 🙄 just no.
Loyal and Ryan — y’all stressing me out! 🤷🏾♀️🤦🏽♀️😫 And Justice- Pure comedic relief at this point 😂🤭
Natisha Raynor gave us heat, tension, and family drama in Kadafi, and I’m already ready for the next
As Truce, Loyal, and Justice start forming a bond, they are hit with another one of Simone's surprises...Kadafi, her other son. I liked his story. Kadafi didn't slack when it came to his responsibility as a father, but he realized he made a huge mistake by betraying the one his heart belonged to. I was glad Yaminah gave him a hard time because it's not easy getting over a broken heart. With the drama they both endured, I was happy they were giving their relationship a second while Kadafi got to know his brothers. Hopefully, Jamaica can grow up and stop being so petty for the sake of her son.
Okay I am bias…I can’t forgive Kadafi for what he did to bae aka Daddy wise but I think he aight… Him and Yaminah worked my nerves a little but I’m glad they got their HEA… I can’t get enough of the triplets and their women I love them all so much and that damn Simone better be done with her bs… On to Chicago next
Simone strikes again…it’s crazy to me that she gave up all her boys but kept her daughter and now she feels a way because she’s missing out on being loved and cared for like only a son can care for his mama…and she’s missing it times four.
As I’ve stated before, the past needs to remain the past. Every dog has its day! The question is do you learn for it? There are some that feel once a cheater always a cheater but I have to slightly disagree 🫣. Some do learn by losing their person! You never knew what you had until it’s gone! Also, if it’s meant to be it will happen! Let’s chat!
Simone has more secrets than anyone I know! Like girl how many kids you good to have and NOT raise🫣. Let’s pray this last secret and child is the last one - Kadafi! This man here. He had the girl he loved with all his heart - Yaminah and allowed temptation to destroy it all! The fact that he knew he was wrong and still decided to give into temptation and cheat had me baffled 🙄! But the way the temptation - Jamaica was spiteful and told their secret and thought she would be the one once Kadafi love left him. Oh but was she highly mistaken 🤣! Now I was speechless to find out who Kadafi father was -Prime 😳! Then finding out who was the reason that his father was no longer amongst the living - Wise now his main force was get back! Listen what made this man think he can approach Wise was beyond me 🤣! In the process finding out he had siblings with one being Wise son and 2 being his nephew and meeting his mother left this fool speechless. Not only that, the secret he learn that Minah was holding had him hot! I was even upset too 😡! Ya boy was get hit left and right with new information and family! He knew the life he was living wasn’t for him but as time went on he was able to adjust and fix all that he damaged! Honestly loved that for him!
As for Yaminah, she honestly worked my nerves 🤣! Now don’t get me wrong, no woman or man deserves to be cheated on -period. However keeping the secret she kept wasn’t right either! Like 2 wrongs don’t make a right! Not only that, how you go from an unfaithful man to one that has a hand problem - Owen 🤔! The way this man was showing all the red flags was crazy and she overlooked them until he showed out again. Not only that she gave Owen another chance but felt you couldn’t give Kadafi one because he cheated! That math not mathing 🤣! So with that my girl had to move back to the city that held her pain - Diamond Cove to be there for her mom. What she didn’t expect was to still be madly in love with Kadafi still and the pressure he was bring to get her back.
Wise, it’s just that man and everyone knows not to mess with this man 🫣! Well ya boy Kadafi thought otherwise until he realized he made a bad mistake. After Simone and his grandmother spoke with Wise and learning the truth, my guy spared ya boy but know that he didn’t want to 🤣! Then the drama that came after Natalie. Now this he was NOT letting that go and all the men where 10 toes down for whatever Prime was on. But like always his brother Chicago was right there with him. All I am going to say is, they better stop playing with this man!
Listen there’s so much more that can be discussed but the review would never end 🤣! However, what I will say is I loved the updates we got for Loyal and Ryan. Loyal, need to let that pride go some and be careful with his words or he’ll get exactly what he ask for. Now it’s time to tap in on Chicago cause ya boy trying to say he’ll new single for the rest of his life. We all know that’s not true as his son thought the same thing🤣!
This particular book focus’s on mainly Kadafi and his girlfriend Yaminah. There were a few other key characters in this book that included Jamaica (she was the mother of Kadafi’s son Samir), Wise who was a powerful man that owned Diamond Cove, then there was Chicago who was Kadafi’s half brother. This story took place in two cities which was Diamond Cove and Atlanta. This book (like the first 4) has themes built around love, family, betrayal, and redemption against crime and violence.
Now the run down, Kadafi cheated on Yaminah with Jamaica which at the beginning of the story Jamaica showed up at Kadafi and Yaminah’s house to inform Yaminah that she was the mother of Kadafi’s first son Samir. Yaminah left Kadafi that night, and she ultimately moved to Atlanta with her sister. Yaminah had left with a secret that she was carrying Kadafi’s baby. Yaminah returned a year later to Diamond Cove, and thats when Kadafi learned he was a father of another son.
Kadalfi tried to kill Wise because Kadalfi overheard a conversation that Wise was responsible for the demise of his father before he was born and he missed out on a mother. Kadafi learns that he has triplet brothers (Loyal, Truce and Justice) and he has a sister (serenity) all by the same mother Simone.
Im not gonna go to far into the books events, you will have to read it for yourself, but i do want to touch base on the fact that Yaminah got on my ever forsaken nerves with her confused self. Yaminah went back and forth with herself trying to decide if she could forgive Kadafi for cheating on her and making a baby, which i understood completely. Where she got on my nerves at was when she dated an NFL player and he faughter her like she was a man not once, but twice. Yaminah gave the NFL player a second chance to hit her again before she was done. Now, don’t get me wrong, im certainly not comparing the two and saying cheating is better than getting hit, but come on Yaminah, that man hit you twice leaving marks, bruises and busted lips and you gave Kadafi a hard time for cheating and making a baby on you. I would have left both of them men where they had me messed at. Kadafi was not better than the football player. Yaminah did all that stressing and crying about if she should forgive Kadafi just to sleep with him (further confusing herself and ultimately him) twice and then give him hell, just to be back with him and get pregnant by him again…I mean, pick a struggle and stay there.
Natisha Raynor really knows how to deliver a story that will keep you glued to the pages! Treacherous Too: Kadafi had me all up in my feelings, yelling at my Kindle because Kadafi’s decision-making was just ugh.
Kadafi had it all—a good thing going with Yaminah and the potential for a life that could’ve been smooth sailing if he’d just played his cards right. But nope, he had to let his ego and the streets take over, and it cost him big time. Losing Yaminah? That was on him, and I couldn’t help but feel frustrated watching him fumble what could’ve been something real.
Yaminah was that girl—smart, loyal, and ready to ride for him—but even she had her limits. Kadafi’s actions didn’t just push her away; they completely changed the trajectory of his life. One decision could’ve saved him so much heartbreak and chaos, but instead, he let his pride and some seriously stupid choices ruin everything.
The drama in this book? Next level. Kadafi’s story is messy, raw, and emotional, but that’s what makes it so good. Natisha has a way of making you root for these flawed characters, even when you want to slap some sense into them. Watching Kadafi navigate his regrets and try to pick up the pieces had me torn between wanting him to win and thinking, “Bro, you did this to yourself!”
This book is a rollercoaster of emotions, packed with twists and turns that’ll keep you guessing. It’s not just about street life—it’s about choices, consequences, and figuring out what really matters. Kadafi’s journey is a lesson in how one wrong move can change everything, but it’s also a story of redemption (or at least the hope for it).
If you’re a fan of Natisha’s writing, you already know she’s going to bring the heat, and Treacherous Too: Kadafi does not disappoint. Grab this one and prepare for a wild ride!
I gave this a 4.5/5. Natisha and this series are definitely raising my blood pressure a bit with this series...but am I going to stop reading it? Absolutely not! If you have made it this far into the series then you know Kadafi's relation to the ghetto triplets (it was revealed in Wise's book).
I went through so many emotions with Kadafi. At first I didn't like him, then I liked him, then I was side eyeing him, but then I liked him again lol. How he popped up in Wise's book and how he started off his own book really had me not liking him. He came across as really arrogant but as I continued to read the book (for me) I saw that he was just lost. He grew up being loved by his grandmother but he carried the secret of knowing who killed his father and he also had a mother who was alive and well but just didn't care to spend time with him.
I was so glad that Yaminah stuck to her decision in the beginning. It sucks that there is always a reminder of his betrayal to her but I'm glad she scared him to the point of showing him she's able to pick up and move on. It was highly unnecessary for him to still be entangled with Jamaica. He almost really put himself out of a happy home with that one. I'm really hoping that the guys pay Yaminah's ex a visit because he definitely deserves to be touched...with hands and feet!!!
And the pregnant lady!?? Did you really have to do her like that, Natisha? If you've gotten this far in the review you are probably wondering "what pregnant lady?" You won't be able to guess from reading this review because if you've read the books you know that the ghetto twins and associates love putting a baby in somebody...so that could be anyone! **evil laugh**
Next up is Chicago and I'm definitely excited to see what kind of shenanigans he's about to put me through!
Kadafi and his girl were chilling when Jamaica popped over there decided to be messy and talk about their son. Yaminah packed her things and got ghost because she wasn't going to be made a fool of. Kadafi is and always going be team Yaminah even though she moved away and got into a another relationship. She was wrong for not telling him about their son.. I don't why Kadafi thought it was smart and kill Wise get revenge for his dad. They messed around and shot each other. His grandma and Simone begged Wise not to kill him because they knew how Wise got down. Simone introduced all her kids to each other and they still ignored her.The brothers and their girlfriend got together and kicked it. It was good to see how they took up for their sister. Kadafi helped set up Shane for Wise because he did Natalie dirty. And got shot in the process. Wise gave him the reward so he wouldn't have deal anymore. Kadafi made the decision to open up his barbershop. Yaminah made up her mind that she still loves Kadafi and life is too short, she wanted to be with him. She asked her mama if she was a fool for still wanting to be with him. Her mama told her to follow her heart. Jamaica thought she was going to be good for child support from Kadafi, but the joke was on her. They are going to co-parent and she going to get some money not like she was thinking. It's good to see the brothers getting along. I'm going to miss this family, but I'm looking forward to reading about Chicago and Winter
Boy oh boy! I really thought I wasn't gonna like Kadafi, but he turned out just alright for me! He did Yaminah wrong and I applaud her for walking away! She went to a new place and stood on business and ran right into chaos. Thankfully, she walked away from that as well! I just knew her going back to NC was gonna take her back to square one! Kadafi knew he messed up when he fooled with Jamaica and sadly he is stuck with her for the rest of his life! She done seen what he and his brothers are capable of, so it would be in her best interest to act like she got some sense! Shane just won't stop, but he messed around too many times to get away! Wise definitely showed him why he should have stayed in Chicago! Simone's intentions are never pure and she has yet to realize that's why her sons really aren't messing with her. By damn, Truce really isn't letting up on her either! Nathalie really found love after Mario and I love that for her! She deserves it and honestly anyone that could calm the beast in Wise is worth having around! Yaminah done gave Kadafi a second chance and he made sure he knocked her up real quick! Though she may have had reservations as to what would have happened, it's clear they were both made for each other! Great ready and I'm ready for Chicago's story! I already know that is gonna be WILD!!!
Kinda Spoiler Aleet: Jus my input… they make it out of every situation, the most drastic thing happens to everyone n it’s always an easy fast simple solution. These books r soooo good but im def gone need a little more drama or something with a twist. Each story ending is becoming so predictable. This family is perfect, beautiful, rich, powerful, safe!!! No deaths, nothing to move me emotionally. No real get back. Maybe that’s my toxic side of the hood novels. i def need something to happen to da good guys to shake things up! Muahhhh sissy i’m on to da next book. Hopefully a bih shed a tear or b on my tippy toes with excitement about something FINALLY being revealed. Not gone lie, when shane was revealed i was too annoyed like this is super predictable. Actually rolled my eyes girl (sorry jus gotta b honest) I kno ur hair cute sis lol but rs come on…. Feed my toxicity i kno for sure i’ll get from these hood books. U can even “Kill” wise n bring him back a few books later. Ard let me go lol i hope this review gets posted!!!! Y’all b sensitive n don’t let me b real lol nah but if u seeing this…. finish da series cuz im sure its gone get better. Where wise daddy n dem @? How it started cuz i kno they were foineeee too lol i love yall for free
This wasn’t a bad story at all, I just feel like the story line is becoming redundant with no real advancement or improvement of the story telling. We get introduced to Kadafi who is another one of Simone’s toss aways, he seems okay like not a terrible character just DUMBB. Like the stupidity between him and Wise took away from his entire plot forreal like, I’m not gonna hold you but after wise’s book I don’t wanna see him anymore like enough. I hate that the author is trying to force this redemption arc but with no real character development. Like sorry I guess if you can get past him being a pimp to an underaged girl and attempting to rape her “scare her” or whatever then sure but me personally I can’t. Especially since the explanation provided was weak AF. If she’s gonna continue on with this family line we need less cameos if they aren’t adding too the story. Like we had so many side quest that had nothing to do with Kadafi and miss girl. Idk this was just an unfulfilling mess to me
This Was The Story of Wise Continued and I’m Not Mad About It
I’m not even gone hold you: while Kadafi and Yaminah’s story was the main focus of this book, that’s not what I was reading for. After finding out that Kadafi shot Wise in Book 4, that’s basically all that I was interested in. Kadafi is real lucky that Big Daddy Wise started growing a heart, because the same thing he did to Shane, he could have easily done to him. He could have joined his father in the afterlife.
And just like Justice and Loyal, I didn’t like how Kadafi moved. He cheated on Yaminah, had a baby with a woman that he didn’t want, then after barely knowing the Triplets and Chicago, he gave those men the address to his baby mama’s house, all on some get back, when they already had gotten their licks in at the club. To me, he just wanted brownie points, because in what world does it make sense of him to do this? That was sucker type stuff.
Kadafi,Kadafi,Kadafi! Kadafi learned quickly that he couldn't see his life without Yaminah, but he also was man enough to see the error of his ways! Yaminah didn't want to be seen as weak. She also had the strength of a strong young woman who knew her worth! Yaminah and Kadafi had to fight for their relationship, but it didn't come without them going through personal issues of their own!
I was so happy that Kadafi was able to meet Simone and realize he had other family, brothers, and sisters. Those triplets were a mess, especially Justice! Kadafi and Truce are probably the lost similar in the way they were brought up! Wise and Chicago are still going strong, but Wise past just keeps on giving at times. I would like to see Chicago find love!
It took me forever to read this 😭… I’m guessing because I didn’t particularly care to know about him but felt i needed to read it so i could understand the family dynamics ya know.
This was just ok to me
I feel like the whole Shane storyline was dragged and should’ve been nipped in the bud stories ago.
Kadafi was just another womanizer to me like Wise and Chicago and it didn’t make me want to know anything about him honestly.
Yaminyah left him but couldn’t leave the man that was abusing her? Couldn’t go home for her grandma but her mom is sick and ups and leaves to go back home
There was alot in the book that had me like hmmm 🤔 but I honestly feel this book wasn’t needed just like I don’t feel like Simone needs a book they’re supporting characters but they aren’t the main characters/ characters that we care about
This was definitely a great way to end a series!!!…Simone was truly all over the place and selfish to say the least!!!… She truly wanted to be taken care of and wanted to spin a victim mentality on her children!!!!…Truce stood on what he said and he didn’t back down!!!!…I loved that about him for real!!!… Wise was playing now games about Natalie and it was tragic that Shane had all the audacity to say Natalie was running her mouth too much about him assaulting her!!!… Kadafi and Aminah love story was a beautiful one and I loved how she stood her ground!!!…But the heart wants what the heart wants and I’m glad she was open to giving them another try!!!…Jamaica worked my nerves with her entitled tail!!!… Her and Paris need to be friends because they truly know how to work themselves out of a blessing!!!…
Kadifi was a good man turned F*boy on the sly. He lost the only other person who loved him unconditionally outside of his Grandma. Jamaica was pathetic and represented some women who use their uterus as a means to keep a man attached. She had the nerves to be lazy and in love while desiring to be kept. Her insecurities kept the money at bay. Now she is just a baby momma with drama. Yaminah didn’t follow her instincts to be wary of a rebound relationships. A guy that is rich and trying to wife up on a woman carrying another man’s baby is definitely suspicious. She should’ve known Mr. NFL was shady af. So happy that Kadafi made it right with Wise and got to know his big brothers. This wasn’t my favorite read by Natisha but it was a solid one. Action packed and enough romance to keep you turning the page.
Girl if you don’t do anything else, you gone keep me on the edge of my seat! Ready to hold my breath just thinking like “omg what’s about to happen next” ! I’m happy you left Owen right where you left him but you gave homeboy too much grace lol! Jamaica was a trip I figured shorty was gone crash out , no cap. Overall, it was a great read per usual and I’m happy Kadafi gets to live not only for himself but his kids . He can continue to build a relationship with his brothers and it’s no more on sight beef with Wise Jacobs. 10/10! Please read them in order though for YOUR sake.
Simone really needed some guidance in her life! Barely being a mother to Serenity and here comes the last lost son Kadafi from PRIME! Yes, he’s been waiting his whole life to pay wise back and he gets a shot off but now on the craziest-era on livings radar. Will his grandma and Simone be able to help? Yasmine is back and she has a surprise too. It is soo much family, new family, old family and Dino finally died! These men are going to get it together. Wise is loving a young thang with an old soul or is he just too young himself, lol. Happy news is coming all the way but it may be a little sadness! Loved this series!!
I'm glad Kadafi got his self together because I was side eyeing him. Jamaica deserved everything she got, ole 403. I wanted Owen's face to crack when he saw that nobody missed a beat. Simon is a hot mess, but she is trying, I think. Truce wants no parts of her, lol. I hope we are getting a Simone story, because something had to happen to her, because she is too trifling, at she is trying now. Loyal was tripping a little too much for me, but Ryan showed him 🤣
Kadafi was so set on avenging his father Prime that he didn’t think things out clearly because Wise was clearly the man out there running them streets and wasn’t nothing soft about him. Yaminah was a good girl and didn’t deserve him not only cheating on her but making a baby on her. I’m glad that Wise didn’t unalive Kadafi for shooting him and that Kadafi got the opportunity to get to know his older brothers the triplets. I hope Kadafi learned from his mistakes. I can’t wait to read Chicago’s book.
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
Wow I am loving this family, hopefully Simone can get herself together. I would like to see her with a HEA. Even though she didn't raise any of her sons. She is trying with her daughter. Please let Chicago meet someone and fall in love. Paris wasn't the right person for him. Glad that Kadafi and Yaminah found their way back to each other. I wanted the brothers to pull out on Owen for putting his hands on Yaminah. Sex scenes were 🌶 and 🔥🔥. Kudos to the author👏🏾. Love the cover. 😉😉
Whew chile., what is up with Simone. She is a piece of work. Getting pregnant and giving kids away....just stop already.
Kadafi was blessed to be raised by his grandmother. She loved on him and made sure he was good. However, he still suffered not knowing his mother and father.
Cheating on Minah, losing Minah, and trying to kill wise was way too much. In the end, he met his mother, his brothers, and got his girl back.
I started it long time ago, thrn let my mom catch up, so since I had only made it to like 3%, I started over last night, and baby FLEW through it! Owen and Jamaica made my SSA itch so bad I wanted to bodyslammmm Jamaica, and Owen needed to disappear❗️ Kadafi was on my nerves for a good bit of the book, but he got better. Yaminah was on her Suga Honey Iced Teaaaaa & I been there, so I really felt Yaminah pain, and Ryan was my girl too. Now it's time to read Chicago!!!
