Hunter Nightmare's Circus Seduction

Rate this book
Performing in a Nightmare circus could have broken them. Instead, they fell in love.

As the premier aerialist of the Circus Macabre, Lissome falls to a gruesome death every night and dodges her creepy clown ex between performances. When the Ringmaster demands a special act in honor of the Nightmare King, Lissome must team up with Hunter, a disgraced pumpkin-headed ticket taker who longs for a role he lost long ago, to create a spectacle for the ages. But in the Realm of Nightmares, love blooms in unexpected places- and falling for a co-performer could ruin their grand debut.

This book was ok. It wasn't my cup of tea after I started reading it. Don't get me wrong it wasn't bad I just have a set view on the "nightmare" Hunter is supposed to be. I don't want to spoil the book because it was a good story. So, if you are curious about Mr. Hunter and his girl check it out. It is a fast Halloween read.

This short Halloween story was such a fun, quick read! I devoured it in just over an hour, and it hit all the right notes for a spooky season monster romance with just the right hint of spice. 🖤🎃 I also want to add this is an ARC review✨

One of my favorite things about this book was how much detail went into describing Hunter. The vivid descriptions really brought him to life in my mind, making the story feel more immersive and adding to that perfectly eerie vibe.

While I enjoyed the ending, I felt it could have used a little extra oomph. The tone of the book builds up Hunter as the one who can truly scare her safely, and I was hoping for a more thrilling or menacing conclusion—even if they were still going to get their happily ever after. A touch more edge in those final moments would have rounded off the story perfectly, but that’s just my personal preference!

Overall, I really enjoyed this spooky, seductive tale and would definitely recommend it for anyone looking for a quick, thrilling read with a little extra heat. It’s the perfect pick for Halloween! 👻🔥

Spooky season is here, finally! This randomly was recommended on KU, so I thought I would give it a shot. Short, sweet and Halloween vibes. I don’t regret delving into this one, but with only 88 pages this didn’t end up hitting the marks I was hoping for.

How do I explain what felt about this book? I guess this wasn’t my cup of tea and it definitely might be someone elses. And honestly since I read this so quick, it was totally worth it. The high points of this for me, were how Lissome was able to move on her from her ex Mal , somewhat through the relationship with Hunter . I’m not going to lie here and act like this was a fairytale, healthy relationship but come on it’s a smutty Halloween short story.

Hunter’s character worked for me in some ways, but others not so much. He’s a fun interpretation of a classic Halloween character trope (I’ll let you guess who he is). Though I am a tad held up about the you know literal kissing a pumpkin thing, but you know if you read Monster romance semireguarly this fact is kinda whatever.

2.5 stars , which rounds to 3.

This has made want to return back to reviewing and reading, despite 2025 having not gone that way for me. I’m hunting for a 5 star Halloween book, please recommend some!

Those vines!!

If I could reread Hunter Nightmare’s Circus Seduction for the first time again I would. Sadly I can’t, so you should do it for me!

If you’ve read my reviews or seen the books I read you’ll know that I usually want my spooky season romances to be dark as night and their MC’s to be giant a-holes! Something about this story made all of that unnecessary tho. I loved the world building, the characters, and oh my gawd those VINES! YES PLEASE, GIMME MORE!

Hunter Nightmare’s Circus Seduction does have some darker elements and wowza that intro scene is gory! So it is 100% the perfect spooky season read even without the psycho killer MC… Honestly who needs that kind of MC when you have Hunter and his vines anyways, am I right?

I’m definitely going to be reading the rest of this world’s books! Although I’m most looking forward to Of Wishes and Nightmares! I can’t wait for it to be available in ebook, that Nightmare King sounds all kinds of yummy! 😋

I received this book as an ARC. Thank you to the author, Brigitte Delery!

In my opinion, this book gave you exactly how it was described. At the start of it, you're already thrown into a serious scene of the aerialist falling to her death. Shortly after you're introduced to Hunter, the mmc. Even with a short amount of pages, the author does a good job of showing unique characters and world building. Though the book was short, I did enjoy the time that Lissy and Hunt had together. I found their moments to be sweet and the spicy scenes were enjoyable. If you're looking for a quick, easy read, this is a good choice.

Ahhh, what a cute book this was! Lissy and Hunter were so cute together. I really liked the different worlds, Real, Nightmare and Daydream, but they were still a bit vague. I still have a lot of questions and I hope to get more clarity about them in future books. I immediately registered for the newsletter.

A spooky time read!! 🎃The headless horseman in a nightmare circus full of monsters. Do not go into this looking for a cozy Halloween vibe, this is dark, depraved, and hot!

Who needs ropes or tentacles when you have vines at your control?

This was a cute short read. I like this world and characters a lot, I’ve read another from this series as well. I wish it was more Halloween related bc the pumpkin head but it was still cute, and I appreciate using bdsm to heal trauma.

circus seduction

Very Tim Burton meets circus seduction.
It’s a little odd at first. But it gets good as it goes.
I was hoping for more than one spicy scene, but the one that there was, was 🥵🥵🥵

The plot is really good and I love that it was dual POV. With that being said, it was hard to really get into the story with it being 3rd person POV.

Surprisingly heart-warming.

It's actually very well written. A great twist on a well known character. It was a bit of what the heck with a splash of AWWEE.

Personally, I enjoyed this story quite a lot. I found it unique, interesting and fun to read.

🎪 The story takes place at the Circus Macabre, in the nightmare realms. Here as the name implies is where all the nightmares of humans are made.

Our FMC is Lissome an aerial performer who falls to her death on a nightly basis. She is growing tired of this and hopes for a new act where there is no need for her to die.

She has some trauma regarding this, in part thanks to her ex boyfriend Malevolent ‘Mal’, an odious clown who enjoys inflicting pain and death upon her.

Our MMC is Hunter, he runs the ticket booth at the circus; but he is formerly of the ‘Headless Horseman’ fame. He does not perform at the circus mostly because he is prevented to by his lack of confidence.

He also wishes to one day change his role within the circus, but finds it difficult to do so since he has grown to be very antisocial and the rest of the circus employees fear him.

Liss and Hunt are given the opportunity to do something different when a visit from the Nightmare King and a mysterious guest requires them to put on a performance together.

🎪 Although there were some dark gory moments, they weren’t so bad. I liked this story and its characters. The vocabulary used in this book was great, I liked the flow and some word choices were interesting and fun! I like when authors don’t fall prey to boring repetitiveness in their vocabulary.

🎪 The love story. Well, I won’t lie and say this was the epitome on love or that it was perfect. It was your typical insta-love type story that was done in a way where not only was it believable, but also we root for the characters and enjoy when they get their HEA.

🎪 The spice was very, very interesting. The vines were a fun addition to the fun ‘Pumpkin Spice’. 😉 Okay, bad joke I’ll let myself out. 🤦🏻‍♀️

🎪🤡 Can I just take a moment to say how much I hated Mal? Firstly, he’s a clown, and I am not proud to say I have a fear of them since my childhood (thank you Tim Curry as Pennywise); and secondly, he is a complete asshole and jerk! Gods, can we just chuck him off the highest peak into a volcano? Fuck that clown! 🤡 🩸🗡️

All in all I found this book to be quite entertaining. I liked it immensely. Was it perfect? No, of course not. What book is? But it was a unique, quick read that was loads of fun. I highly recommend it to anyone interested.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️❌/5.
