When a high-profile murder rocks the prestigious University of Virginia, Madelyn "Maddie" Stokes stumbles upon her best friend Amy Zhang's lifeless body, the word "CHINK" scrawled across her forehead in black marker. Amy, the Chair of UVA's Honor Committee, was known for her strict adherence to the code of honesty, integrity, and fairness. Her death sends shockwaves through the campus, and what starts as a murder investigation quickly spirals into something more sinister. FBI Special Agent Nathaniel Croft and his team are brought in to untangle a web of academic rivalry, social justice tensions, and deep-seated grudges. The investigation points to a tangled mix of suspects, from bitter expelled students to mysterious faculty members with something to hide. As secrets unravel, so does the complex fabric of honor that Amy fiercely upheld.
But time is running out. With the President of the United States set to speak at the university’s graduation in just weeks, the FBI must solve the case before it becomes a national scandal. In a world where trust is fragile and betrayal is everywhere, Nathaniel and Maddie must navigate treacherous waters to uncover the truth behind Amy’s death, before the killer strikes again.
Prepare for a gripping thriller full of twists, intrigue, and suspense, where every clue uncovers another layer of deception, and where justice is not always as simple as black and white.

Wow! Quite a lot of action on the part of the FBI team. Murder to solve caused quite the stir in this college town. Very colorful characters and great descriptive action.
Finally, a novel by a former FBI Special Agent that brings you into the solving of a case. Great dialog among the Agents. Believable characters and relationships. Enjoyed reading this book.
I chose to read this because the setting was my alma mater, The University of Virginia. The story was okay, it just didn't thrill me enough to give it five stars.
