My name is Bevin Millen—yes, Millen! I was able to separate from my family. Legally, at least. Father doesn’t listen to anyone and will never give up since he can’t bear to lose. In this case, he lost me, and unfortunately he’s still deluded into thinking I’m an asset he owned. If that wasn’t terrifying enough, the one person on campus I’m most worried about learned that I’m a goddess witch… Before I did. I have no idea what to do with Professor Wyatt knowing this about me, especially because he has more interest in me than having hot sex again. All I know is that I cannot trust him. I’m scared even more about what could happen if my family gets me. I don’t know who I can trust. I’m drowning and could ruin my chance to be free if I don’t get a grip and figure out what to do next. It’s really not fair. I just wanted to leave my horrid past behind and move forward with my life, maybe date and have some fun. Is that really too much to ask?
Morrigan University is a spicy reverse harem, university-age paranormal academy series with darker elements, strong language, violence, and a heroine who always does her best no matter what’s thrown at her… While trying to figure out what and who her heart wants.
*This book is part of a series and cannot be read as a standalone. Like all my books, this is not light and fluffy and includes dark themes and events some may find triggering. Reader discretion is advised.
Erin is a born Chicagoan who decided to state hop a bit, given she works from home. She currently resides in Georgia with her pup, Lord Vader Flynn. With an eclectic and addictive personality, there isn’t much that doesn’t interest her or she won’t pour herself into if it catches her fancy. She has always been interested in the darker aspects of life and mythologies—especially vampires, shifters, the occult, and anything paranormal.
To date, she has published more paranormal books than she can keep up with the characters for, in different genres with dedicated readers who await each release to her numerous series under any of the three Flynn names she writes.
To much being told, and not shown. IYKYK. Skimmed some of the repetetive monolouges, and still want to read the next book, so the premise is good, but the execution is a bit lacking. Go feminisim! But seriously, your readers don't need to bee spoonfed the consepts.
So to preface I did enjoy the world that the book is set in. My issue is the repeated use of the word sexist like we get it they're sexist can we use a different word or something maybe just show and not tell the reader. This also didn't have like any romance it was more about business. Even things that could have been interesting were glossed over with no resolution i.e werewolves!?!?! I gave this one a try after reading the first to see if they would idk edit themselves better, overall the writing isn't my cup of tea and the book reads as childish while also being confusing.
Disclaimer: I’m going to review it without spoilers at the top, then create a line and anything below that line will be spoilers. Do with that what you will.
The second book into this series was similarly distracting but good at the same time. There’s so much potential but this author needs to start having events happen vs just telling about them. And get a damn editor!
What I liked: - The plot is developing, adding in additional characters, subterfuge, and even other supernatural creatures. - I love that this is so animal focused, even if it’s to improve the power of a person in the plot. Bevin is doing all of this to help the animals tbh. - Bevin finding her footing and getting kind of dominant with her men is hoooooooot 🔥 - The comedic writing is honestly kind of cringe but in a good way. Makes you laugh every time because it’s chaotic. - The animals and their names. It’s so funny thinking of some of these animals and what they’re named. More animals/familiars get introduced and you just crack up thinking about the names they’re given/decide on 😂 - There’s an unknown POV and I thought that was such an interesting take, as I’ve never seen that in a book before. - Even though I have complaints about the writing style, the concept is top tier. - We get a bit more goddess lore—though truthfully we should have more and it’s like she’s not even acknowledging it most of the time.
What I didn’t care for: - I know this is about women and power and screwed up societies, but my god how many times can we just drop the sexism bomb while planning calling it out? It just gets overly boring when there can be ways to point it out without Bevin or someone else having a full soapbox monologue. - This book needs SEVERE editing. There’s times where I don’t even know what the author is trying to say because she has chaotic and poorly structured sentences. It’s like a weird stream-of-consciousness-with-interruptions style of writing. And it’s bad. If she doesn’t have an editor, she needs one badly. - There’s times where I love Bevin, but she can be so damn draining too. Everything is woe is me with a full monologue and oversharing to absolute strangers and it’s like my god, we get it. - The author constantly does this whole I’m a bad bitch but also omg I’m so helpless and don’t know what I’m doing thing with Bevin that’s just messy. There’s things Bevin is SO confident on and the writing just doesn’t seem like an overly sheltered 18 year old POV. It needs fine tuning and maybe to involve more obliviousness vs. talking about it later. - There’s plot development but also I’m a little lost in what’s to come. Where are we going with this? What’s the purpose? Why has only a couple weeks happened when we’ve had two books. The pacing could be improved/expanded. I get that because of the men and them not all being freshman that maybe it all needs to happen in her first year. But it’s just a little quick for so much to happen. - Uneven focus on her men and some are terrible whereas others deserve better. - The ending wasn’t very exciting (suggestions in the spoilers section of how it could have been better) - Sometimes the author tells about evens having happened vs providing a POV WHILE the events are happening. Which makes things seemed breezed over a lot of the time. - For a sexist society, there’s still really no women in this book. It feels very male dominated even with the familiars and kind of turning into a sausage fest and not in a good way. I’d have liked her to make a girl friend by now for example. - Bevin being basically omniscient. I know she knows her family but there’s rarely any surprises really. It gets a bit old. She’s just got a full dialogue going but she’s supposed to be this sheltered girl. It just doesn’t add up.
SPOILERS BEYOND THIS POINT ———————————————————
What I liked: - Bevin becoming somewhat dominant sexually is so incredibly hot. Demanding Kelton to get on his knees and worship her and her writing the # of orgasms from oral, then having sex on the chalkboard before allowing Derek to do anything is hot. And now giving away kisses. Punishing her men. It’s hot. - I loved the scene with the werewolves and finding out the lore about similar to purity power, the werewolves believe that having sex with witches gives them more power. I knew they’d get pulled into the plot eventually but didn’t expect it the way it happened. And interested to see how much the Alpha becomes a villain in future books. - The animal names 😂😂😂 Spike the moose, Teddy the polar bear, Bubba the tiger…they’re just such hilarious names for familiar. So many fantasy books with familiars are more pompous or high fantasy about them with names like Azriel or Lucian or something. And these are just purely comedic. - Her basically breaking up with Kelton and saying “Bye, Kelton.” Hate that he’s being treated this way but the way it was handled left me with chills. - Interested to see what Clare has to do with the plot. Having that inside informant potential is exciting.
Favorite quotes: - “I’m not bailing you out if you kill someone,” I warned her, snorting when she shot me a hurt look. “Let’s be smarter and bury the body before you get caught, okay?” // we love a ride or die! 👏🏼 - I nodded. “None of this is easy, and I don’t have the social skills to handle any of this.” I blinked up at Ms. Koval. “Or how fucking scary you are, so either flatten me or dial it back to like a seven, please.” // what a way to meet one of your guys’ moms and just call out that she scares you lol - “Let me see the mark, Bev. I’ll do better and listen. Show me your mark, my goddess.” I shivered, his voice heavy with desire and at the edge of begging. I licked my lips and realized what I wanted more than anything. “Then get on your knees and worship me. You’ll see it then.” // HOT. HOT. HOT. Both him begging and her demanding. 🔥 - Do it twice and tell me in the morning it was better than the sex you’ve had with other women and I’m your goddess.” Shit, where had that come from? Great, I was getting bitchy and possessive when I was going to have multiple boyfriends. // Again, hot. But also the perfect balance of sexy and comedic. - “I’m sorry, my sexy spitfire. Pumpkin. Fruity cutie booty,” // I’M DEAD 😂😂😂 This coming from Prof Wyatt has me just losing it. His one redemption moment. - The two female deans gave me an impressed look like I had balls the size of the sun. Yes, but I would curl into a ball and cry for a week after having to do this. So no one was perfect. // Fucking hilarious 😂
What I didn’t care for: - Kelton deserves better. Justice for Kelton. He’s the only guy I actively like and he gets her worst side throughout most of this book. - Derek Wyatt. Him potentially being her priest makes me want to bash my head in. He’s so toxic and I just can’t stand this guy. And him constantly calling her “goddess” gives me the ick. - Winter speaking in full sentences and fully masturbating while still asleep was just odder than fuck. Like he can mumble stuff or dry hump her or something but it was just way past weird and unrealistic. - I enjoyed the concept of the unknown POV. But I’m confused who it even could be when there wasn’t an interaction between Bevin and a girl in the beginning? Is she gonna be a friend? A villain? It creates a lot of curiosity but also the character seemed wholly unlikable too and justifying her hatred. While also being “ugly” maybe with things like her flat ass. It was just a poorly handled chapter in my opinion. - The ending flopped. And hard. They could have made the POV with Tracey actually her being on the call and being threatened. Built up the intensity of it. Instead, it was just telling that it happened, Tracey being scared but not really, and instantly going into getting the councilmen’s wives involved. It just wasn’t as impactful as it could have been.
Ok, so this one was slightly better than the first book, but this author can be really repetitive and really needs to expand the adjectives they use. More MMCs got added in this book, and who knows what the limit will be? I'm just expecting it to get ridiculous.
The only complaint I ever have about Erin’s books is that sometimes things get so chaotic I have a hard time keeping track of what is going on! I know it’s a device and it puts me inside Bevin’s mind and state of chaos.. but isn’t it annoying how well authors manipulate us sometimes? Annoying, but also just amazing. This had quite the cliffhanger as well! The big reveal on dad’s plot coming to life but no real dealing with it yet. I can’t wait for the next installments in this series! I would love to see this every other for a little while so there’s continuation elsewhere but without losing out on this one. Since Bevin is new and shiny I’d love an every other until about book six then she can fall into the regular rotation between Inez, Karma, Sera, Soraya and Jasmine.
Oh my lanta.....wasn't sure at first but loved the first book and now getting into the second book I want more....how Bevin survived the years she had with her supposedly family(it's the best I can come up with for her disowned family)....glad some of the family is taking a step back and looking at it differently.....can't wait for the next book
3.5* While I still enjoy Erin’s writing, I’m just not meshing well with the characters in this new series. Hoping to see a lot of growth as it continues
on the second book of this series I just happened across. and I’m so grateful to the writer.
This is the second book of yours I’ve read I’m not sure if I was supposed to start in a different series but I’m glad I started here. I love Bev, she’s amazing the struggles the years of enduring such abuse and to get get free but still have all these nightmares happening to her. I’m a man reading your series not for the sex though it is hottt I love the people I love that this girl is becoming a woman in her own right not because of anyone but her determination and the we all know how hard it is for a woman of the world. I have a strong mother her built up strong daughters and a father that raised all five of us boys to respect our to sisters and to remember that anything we ever did to a woman could be done to our own sisters and mothers and how would that feel so I’ve always been a huge supporter of all woman and strong woman men that fight for all pursuits in life. Anyway I just wanted to say thanks for sharing your stories with the rest of the world and to know you have created a huge fan in me. Stay strong I know I read that you were dealing with some nay sayers but like my dad always said opinions are life “buttholes” everyone has one. You’re amazing and your writing is inspiring. Remember it’s like in your stories jealousy is real and turns people into mean evil people. You aren’t any of those things your a writer sharing her stories with people who want to read and escape the world and to do so with stories that fill them up with amazing feelings of love life and happiness as in life that means we go through hard times some worse than other but pain is pain. Sorry ranting here but I just wanted to tell you I support you I think your blessed as a writer a story teller and I’m in love with your books and I will continue with all you do because your worth it to me for bringing me smiles laughs and more. Thank you so much. Mark O
This book was so much better than book 1. For one these was significantly less sex scenes between Bevin and the guys for another it explained a bit more in depth the things that were going on and what it meant. There are still times where Bevin doesn’t tell the reader what she is thinking or is inferring something and I feel somewhat lost without the context.
I didn’t truly get her issue with Wyatt because it was never really explained in depth with details as to what upset her so much with his attitude. I like Winter he seems really nice. Didn’t have much of Kelton this book it seemed. Sergey is one I really do like and is watching out for Bevin. Nigel is an interesting addition as well and I like how he takes up for Bevin. I also like Link and wonder if something could be possibly there between them. We also get more explanation on what a goddess witch is, what it can entail and more on Bevin’s business and interactions with familiars. We also did see more sexism but I wish some of the interactions didn’t happen off page so we could see what happened when it happened. Overall this one was enjoyable.
There is a pov from an “unknown” female who has an issue with Bevin but sort of doesn’t. It’s weird and I can’t tell if they are going to try to harm her in the future or not. I’m real curious who it is and if her opinion on Bevin changed once the stuff about Gregg came out and when she saved 8 witches.
I look forward for more to come with more fleshed out details. I need context for Bevins thought processes as I can’t always figure out what she’s thinking or where shes going with her feelings.
The premises are good. The worlds and people suck.
Most stories written by this author are vehemently anti patriarchal, but only because her versions of patriarchy are so insane that the reader (me) either begins to believe that the version we have IRL is *not so bad* and therefore, it’s tolerable (which enrages me); or I question why the FMC hasn’t begun hoisting the black flag and slitting throats in the face of such outrageous misogyny.
I will forever roll my eyes at plots in which the FMC is super duper powerful, hot, rich, and smart, but for some reason, needs a man or harem to protect her and guide her through her hardships.
The heavy-handedness of it all detracts from the actual romance arch and the only plots pertain to sexual characteristics, actual sex, or sexual discrimination. I never have a chance to fall in love with romantic interests and barely like the main character because everything else is over the top and overwhelming. The FMC only shines because she doesn’t allow herself to be victimized by men, and not because she’s doing anything anyone else alive today wouldn’t do.
Honestly, I have a hard time connecting with anyone because I want them all to get rekt. In an asexual way. A violent way.
My rambling point is: The author’s stories are rabidly anti-misogynist while also running wild with unchecked internal misogyny at the same time. Other girls who aren’t beneficial to the FMC are mean girls — and boys want boots on throats, but not the FMC’s because she’s hot and she makes them physically feel good.
I love this series wholeheartedly, I love absolutely everything about it. The characters filling out more and more with every interaction. Having another supernatural element as the bad guys is fantastic, it’s a refreshing change. All too often these days all of the different races interact with each other. Often with some animosity towards those different to themselves but it’s been quite a while since I’ve read a book that has a common flavour of magical being portrayed as bad guys to the level that werewolves are depicted in this series.
Frankly though, one of the best things about this author and this series in particular is the blatant sexism being called out for what it is. For all that this is a fantasy story the sexism is very very real, all of the sexism depicted (excluding any references to magic) has happened in real life either historically or currently. Society at large tends to either not recognise it for what it is because so many behaviours have become normalised or they just ignore it.
To me that’s just mind boggling, terrifying. It’s so easy to empathise with the FMC Bevin, her circumstances are not dissimilar to being dropped into a foreign country without any knowledge of the language, culture or any way to communicate.
Life is only going to get harder for our FMC, the Shaw patriarch isn’t going to accept that he has no authority over Bevin, property has no independent thoughts or rights. Soooo excited to read on!
Having read book one yesterday and finishing book two today, I have to say that this series is off to a 5 star start. I'm looking forward to further books from this series. I've enjoyed many other series by Erin R. Flynn. This one has a refreshing spin on the paranormal genre and the subgenre of witch society. Even though it's alluded to that they are long lived people, the focus remains on the college aged main characters.
Two things some readers may not like: 1. There isn't much world building. The focus is on the characters, not mapping or terrain. 2. Editing. There is a lot of vernacular used in this book as well as "it made sense in my head" writing. Some sentences don't make sense at first from the readers point of view, however if you reframe the sentences from the characters point if but, they make perfect sense. Generally in function, these types of sentences are handled in italics to help the reader read it in the different voice of the characters.
However, overall in terms of story content, I give these two books 5 stars. I hope future readers enjoy them as much as I have. Now I just have to be patient for books 3&4.
4 ☆ This is a different tone and pace than other books by the author. I like the storyline, premise, and characters. There is more depth and thought into the story for only 2 releases so far. However, there are grammatical errors and dropped thoughts by characters that leave several sentences disjointed. The pace of the overall story is nice, but the progression of individual characters and some actions seem rushed and lack being fleshed out. There is plenty to pull from and draw out to give more characters depth. Male main character POVs could be added to enhance this issue plus more thoughts and developments between them and the main female character. The sexual relationship with a few male characters read as infantile and very immature; reworking their person character depth and pacing in the relationships would probably help. Appreciate that there is more happening in 2 books versus how some have been dragged previously in other books. With a little editing and fleshing out, it would be 5 stars, so that is why I gave 4. There is work that needs to be tweeked, in my opinion. If nothing else, then fix grammatical and composition errors.
Beware of spoilers that might sneak in this review: So our young heroine continues to fight for her rights, hiding her powers and true nature. Her evil family continues to try to steal her back. She has gained quite a few allies though, and plows through in her goals to enhance the lives of familiars and her own autonomy. Greedy adversaries are everywhere as she dodges crises. She is only 18 and it shows. Her attitude is irritatingly immature throughout. Having been mentally and physically abused as lesser due to her gender, she lashes out at everyone. She expects her friends to change for her, and gets furious when they can't read her mind, yet she refuses to see things from anyone else's point of view. Her constant angst and spite driven acts gets boring and irritating for the reader. But, we do find out why she needs so many love interests - she's required to have five to balance her substantial magic. But she's not really mature enough to handle that so she just shamelessly flirts and teases them. But of course she's so good at magic that everyone oohs and aaws when she gloatingly shows them up. I think this will be another very long series.
I don't often write reviews, as I read constantly and don't usually feel like a review is needed....but having just finished Troubled Student, the second book in Erin's new series, Morrigan University, and reading her post script, I felt like it was time again to write something. I first discovered Erin Flynn's work with Artemis University, and her complex, emotionally involved writing drew me in. Tamsin's journey and growth appealed to me in a way not many story arcs have, relatable in so so so many ways, and still giving me the dream of "more" that drew me into the genre of fantasy/science fiction as a child! Now her latest series, Morrigan University, seems set to take me on a new journey, making me smile, giggle, laugh out loud, wince in sympathy and tear up with shared understanding of hurt and frustration! Thank you, Erin, for creating worlds that give me a place to escape to! Thank you for sharing characters that are relatable and likeable and still make me want to "be" them! If you haven't....read her different series! I think we all need a good escape, with characters that are flawed but fabulous!!
I stumbled on this new series after being a fan of the author. I’ve enjoyed her other series before but often got annoyed at several aspects of character traits early on, or something fizzled eventually for me, especially the “been there read that” trope. But I love this new series so far. I don’t want to give spoilers and I’m so close, but I’ll keep this short. I enjoy the FMC, and while I really hope Erin Flynn doesn’t get into the bad habit of letting the male leads walk all over the FMC’s as I’ve found in other series (or have the FMC easily forgive and forget with sex or no time apologies-please don’t and in this instance don’t make the professor the main point of the “star” or let the FMC keep forgiving the guys mistakes so easily; it’s better when it’s earned and not repeated)… sorry trying not to spoil!! Anyways I love the main theme behind this, the familiars, and generally the characters as well. The paths the story could take are numerous and intriguing enough to keep me going. It’s a fresh spin on an oldie but goody. I can’t wait to read the next one.
TLDR: Is this just taking the characters and story from Artmis University and slapping a few new coats of paint on it? Yes. But will I still read it? Yes.
I love flynns books because of the amazing storyline, yet I struggle because all of her FMC's are the same. They get up on a soap box and give a speech, and everyone around them falls to their knees and sees the error of their ways. At the same time, I can't stop reading them because I prefer low-conflict, safe books, where the heroine is never in any real danger, and Flynns books provide that. Do i get tired of the over the top feminists speeches in which every male somehow agrees with her? Yes. But I still enjoy reading her books. In this case, this series is basically the same as Artemis University. The FMC finds out she is a powerful rare species that requires multiple mates, and all the guys are 100 percent cool with ut. Even one of her circle is a professor who's constantly messing up just like in artemis. Just like in Artemis, she has a powerful lawyer who works behind the scenes to solve all of her problems.
If I could, it's give this a 3.5 rating. The storyline and characters are really engaging. But reading this book is often frustrating but the lack of proper grammar, odd sentence structure, and it being unclear who is speaking at any given time.
I like that the author sets up unique relationships between Bevin and her guys, but this starts to get lost in the second half of the book. I'd argue that the relationship between Bevin and Wyatt is the most complex, but it isn't made clear what their deeper attraction for each other is, so I struggle to fully get behind it.
I also found the scene where Bevin was brought before the school board was highly contrived and formulaic. It was like every court scene in a movie where the main character's solicitor pulls out a victory. Only this time, Bevin was the accused and their solicitor.
I also really don't like that two of Bevin nicknames are "little sexy" and "foxy." The book is saturated in anti-sexist content, with the bulk of the plot hinging on it, and yet the public use of those names is fine. It doesn't make any sense to me.
I like the story and am curious to see where it goes but there are some things that really take away from this being better. The big one is all the guys (the ones you’re suppose to like) being pigs. Especially Wyatt! It wouldn’t be a problem if she had any self respect and they all evolved but Wyatt especially keeps treating her like trash and always just after they hook up, but a few excuses from him and she lets it blow all over and keeps giving him chances without him actually changing or making up for it. And all the guys seem more obsessed with her boobs than her. It’s actually a big turn off. But what makes it even worse is this series is highly into feminism and sexism and she’s always standing up for it until it comes to how these guys treat her like an object. It all becomes too much and takes away from the story. I love how she’s survived and done so well for herself, but a lot of her arguing rants feel more like the author ranting than advancing the story and character. It just gets too much. And I really hate how the guys treat her sexually.
This is the first book I’ve read for Erin Flynn, and it was amazing. This is my new favorite series right now. This is about Bevin, who has been locked away from society for 18 years by her family but with careful planning she manages to escape to Morrigan U. Simple so far.
In this book nothing is ever simple. Bevin is smart, sassy, socially awkward with tons of baggage, but the suitors for her attention will fight to be by her side and protect her secrets and protect her from her family who want her back so the can sell her as a breed mare.
So far the council has helped to keep her safe, but daddy dearest is not happy and that I’m sure will be his downfall fall. I am hooked and anxiously waiting for the next installment. Love, love, love it. 💕❤️🔥
Hi. As a fan of Ms. Flynn's University setting books (I have read Artemis University, and liked it). I was looking forward to reading this series. If you've read the Artemis Series, you will find some similarities to that series. I'm not going to give you spoilers, but will caution you that this book follow along those lines. I've only read the first two books, and expected the writing to be better. It is, somewhat, but it still have some wording (?) that throws you off on what she's trying to say (IMO). I will continue on with this series because I'm a fan of her university type settings and strong, powerful women. But, beware the writing gets jumbled (confusing?) at times. Good luck, and I hope this review helps you in deciding on whether to read this series or not.
I had seen this series on kindle a few times and wasnt entirely sure it was for me but i decided to give it a go as id previously read the Artemis university and i definitely wasn’t disappointed. While i see similarities between Morrigan and Artemis i think its just because of the genre. Theres only so much you can change. But i absolutely love all the different types of familiars and am excited for when she meets the anaconda l, Bevan is a badda** and i love that shes getting more of a backbone and finding her feet as she goes on. I love how caring she is and i love all the guys, they all bring something different that Bevan needs. Although im looking forward to seeing what happens next with them, i definitely have a few favourites. Hopefully the next books out soon as I devoured the first 2 books in one day and am already impatient haha!
You know, I can almost hear the whining. What it all boils down to, is everyone wants Erin to write the exact book they want, and do it THEIR way. Seriously? Does this woman look like a freaking burger franchise?? Sad that Tamsin is done with school? No. We still have some amazing Flynn ladies to follow around, and now THERE IS A NEW ONE! These first two books were amazing, and YES OF COURSE I WANT MORE, because I am a greedy soul, just like every other reader who finds one of Erin Flynn's books. But if you could hurry genius, it would not be genius. So I will wait, and chew my nails, and pray for all of the Flynn Ladies. Welcome Bevin, I can hardly WAIT to see what you get up to next.
Erin has done it again! I canNOT wait for book 3. I didn't start this series until after I finished Artemis. I'm disappointed all them couldn't be released at once, but alas....I'm not a writer, just an avid reader. You can't rush perfection. I'm hooked already and can't wait to see what Bevin does next. If you liked Artemis, The Enchantress (or Enchanter under a different pen name) or Seraphina, Female Alpha/Siren...then I think Bevin will be coming in HAWT!! Can't wait to see what comes next. Get your rest and bring it, girl!! If you're looking for something in the mean time, check out The Succubus series, or Mabel, or the vampire series, too. Can't remember it's name off the top of my head. But all of Erin's books are bomb-digg.
Just what I've come to expect from Ms. Flynn . . . another great story! And what an exciting beginning. I love how the FMC is finding her feet in a whole new world for her. The. MMCs are all very different which I believe would be needed to make a poly relationship work. The back stories are slowly revealed so as not to overwhelm the reader all at once. I'm loving the POVs of everyone, including the supporting characters. To me, it makes the story more "real" when you experience the events from multiple viewpoints. Although the series is set at a university, it is a totally different story from Artemis. That's a great thing and shows that the author has a great imagination. So excited to continue on this journey!
I'm really enjoying this new series. Bevin is refreshing in that while she's been traumatised and abused she's not bitter or cynical. She uses those survival skills to assess situations and people in a heartbeat and is able to make quick decisions. I love the familiars, meeting those characters was some of the best moments in the book. I like that Bevin's magic involved improving the lives of animals. The boys are a confusing lot, I thought it would be Link over Nigel but both are protectors so I think there might be room there for both? I enjoyed reading this book and did so over a couple of hours.
Troubled Student is an awesome follow up to book one of the Morrigan University Series. I was admittedly a little annoyed while reading book one as it seemed we were getting another relationship rife with the miscommunication trope, like Tams and the Doc. Thank goodness that was mostly squashed between Prof. Wyatt and Bevin in this book. Fingers crossed it stays that way.
This book was paced well, had all the fixings we come to love from an Erin R Flynn story including a delicious budding harem made of hot men who will burn the world for their woman, Bevin.
I can’t wait to see what the rest of this series brings!
Please hurry the rest of the series !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I swear I've said this about most of Erin's books, but it is so painful having to wait for the next one. I really wish I could wait for her to finish the series before I start it. I read too fast. Unfortunately I know her books are going to be amazing reads, so I can't wait. I end up re-reading the series when I know the next is coming soon. I love her snarky, strong female main characters. They aren't perfect and that makes it so much more real. Erin please stay healthy, happy and productive. I'm sorry I am so greedy for more of your time to be spent blessing us with your creative works.
