Krin, the newly appointed Captain of the Protectorate patrol ship Chetok faces a dilemma no battle training could prepare him for. His duty is to protect Alaran space, but his heart is tethered to Riley, a human female he believes is his Fated Mate. Unfortunately, Krin has always struggled with talking to females. When Riley asks to be dropped off at a distant human colony, the thought of letting her go is unbearable. But making her part of his crew feels equally wrong. Alaran males are sworn to protect their K’sha, not put them in danger.
Riley, a former soldier who has always struggled with relationships, can’t deny the magnetic pull she feels toward Krin. Is it just his good looks, or something deeper? Unwilling to watch him disappear into the stars without her, Riley makes the bold decision to secure a place aboard the Chetok, determined to fight for whatever connection they share.
Torn between duty and desire, Krin and Riley must navigate the treacherous unknowns of space—and their undeniable feelings for each other. Will Krin find the courage to claim Riley as his Fated Mate, or will their future be torn apart by tragedy before they get the chance to explore their love?
A shy but fierce Alaran warrior in the Protectorate fleet, Krin has fallen in love with Riley, a human former soldier who secretly holds Krin in high regard as well. They both face the frustration of wanting to be together but don't know how to navigate personal relationships, so when Riley wants to be assigned to the patrol ship Chetok, Krin objects, fearing for her safety. She has not told him about all the dangers she has already safely negotiated as a human soldier. She decides she'll just have to prove her worth to Krin and his crew.
The story continues with lots of hot alien action, danger and clashes with enemy aliens. It's told very well, and the interplay between Riley and Krin during their exchanges increases. Krin is convinced that Riley is his K'sha, and Riley feels similarly. If they return safely from their patrol mission, will they finally confess their feelings to each other?
Krin is the exciting third book of the Protectorate Warriors series with a new couple, Krin and Riley struggling their way through the awakening mate bond that is definitely making itself known between them. Riley has decided to leave the Alara home world for a human colony but Krin who hasn’t spoken to her about the bond is determined she remain by his side. Now Captain of the patrol ship Chetok he needs to find a way to keep former soldier Riley with him. Filled with compelling characters, danger, intrigue, action, adventure, spice, and continued imaginative world building this expertly written story was another fulfilling Sci-Fi Romance read in a storyline I have been very much enjoying.

This book ended for me with a big smile on my face. They are such a cute couple. They had some of the same issues the last couple had but more people to help them get over it quicker. Plus Riley was a much stronger individual than Orin's wife and not afraid to say what she wants. Very well thought out universe and interesting species. I love the new race of Aliens we meet in this book. Imaginations are so wonderful! Kathy
KRIN, Captain of the Protectorate patrol is always tongue tied around Riley. Riley who is also a human female solider. Riley who he believes is his K’sha. Whew that is a lot. But the read comes with good characters, secrets, action, adventure, and wonder of who's going to save the day? Good read.

This is book 3, in this short series. 😊 These two characters - Riley and Krin, had to overcome their issues in order to let the pull between them, become more. It was a great read and end to this series. It was a quick read and had enjoyed all in these books. I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.
