‘A thrilling narrative . . . a highly readable and exciting war yarn’ East Kent Mercury

By late summer 1940 the Nazis had overrun France and were gaining ground fast in the east. The conquest of Britain could finish the war in a matter of months.

Operation Sealion was Hitler’s devastating invasion land 330,000 men and capture southern England within ten days, at which point the British Government would be forced to surrender.

The date was set—21 September, 1940. Troops were moved to their embarkation points, armed and ready. On 7 September Churchill issued the secret code word Cromwell—meaning ‘invasion imminent’.

What would have happened if Hitler hadn’t changed his mind?

OPERATION SEALION is a vivid, authentic documentary novel based on a War Game organised by the Royal Military Academy, Sandhurst, umpired by six top British and German officers in an effort to determine whether or not Hitler would have succeeded. It is a riveting blend of military expertise, historical authority and masterful storytelling.

Good read

Good interesting read on the situation in the early years of the second world war ,and an insight into the possible scenarios in the event of a German invasion. I enjoyed the first half of the book the second half seemed to contain more facts then fiction so to me more laboured. Overall though I enjoyed it.
