Two weeks, two nuclear blasts. The world is careening straight toward the abyss, and Washington is powerless to stop it.

After an emergency mission deep into war-torn Georgia, the CIA's elite Prosecution Force has vanished without a trace. The chain of events leading to their disappearance and the detonation of a second nuclear weapon in two weeks remains a mystery. Langley is paralyzed, unable to inform a scrambling White House desperate to prevent global war.

Leaders from both China and Iran have fallen off the map, and Azerbaijan is facing down the barrel of a two-pronged invasion. It’s a tangled web no one in the free world can unravel.

But one man holds the answer to the riddle. Separated from his team, Rufus “Turk” Turkman knows the truth. The intelligence he holds may be enough to prepare America for the sucker-punch to come, but stranded in a war zone without communication equipment, Turk’s options are limited.

Even worse, Turk knows the location of his captured team. They’re in enemy hands and unlikely to survive. His choice is brutally save his comrades or save his country.

The game is set, and the free world is barreling into a trap... with no idea of what's to come.

A gripping read with believable characters

The writeup for Fallout leads the prospective reader to expect a thrilling near-future story, and it certainly delivers on that expectation. The book takes off with a gripping opening paragraph and never lets up. The plot switches between the perspectives of national leaders trying to keep the world from falling to totalitarians and of the members of the Prosecution Force who are trapped in Georgia (NOT Georgia, USA) and are trying to survive and deliver intelligence with details of the threat.
The story is suspenseful and makes Fallout worth reading . What made it really stand out for me, though, were the characters. It is rare for a thriller to have such personable characters, who come alive, with distinct personalities, believable feelings, and very human interactions. This was true for both the Prosecution Force and national officials like the acting president of the United States. There is excellent portrayal of the problem of balancing the survival of your crew with mission success, especially in a small crew who know each other so well. It is always sad to read of military personnel who do not make it through a battle, but Fallout helps readers empathize with small mentions such as a Navy man who is eager to get home to see his newborn baby but is killed in battle.
Even though I thoroughly enjoyed this book, I am just a bit sorry that I read it… right now. I did not realize that it is the eighth instalment in the Prosecution Force series, and there are a few references that I suspect may be spoilers for earlier books. The first book is now high on my Want to Read list.
I received an advance review copy of this book from Edelweiss and Severn River Publishing.

Fallout by Logan Ryles is a highly recommended thriller. This is the eighth book in the Prosecution Force series and very highly recommended for those already following the series.

There have been two nuclear blasts, at the Panama Canal and in Azerbaijan. Reed and four other members of the CIA's elite Prosecution Force are being held and tortured in Azerbaijan. The White House is trying to prevent global war, but with the president ill, Vice President Stratton is in charge. The world is careening toward WWIII while leaders from Russia, China and Iran are missing and unavailable to contact. Separated from the others, Lucy is shell-shocked and in a daze, and, while Turk has the intelligence information needed, he has no way to get the information back to Langley. He also needs to rescue the missing team members, but it is clear that troops in Azerbaijan are preparing for war at the border with Georgia and Russia.

This is a tension-filled, action-packed, heart-stopping thriller that takes off at a gallop and doesn't let up until the end, which will leave readers longing for the next installment of the series. It will hold your complete attention throughout. Fallout really is a riveting thriller. The strength and sense of purpose of all the characters is impressive. The only drawback for me was starting the series here, with the eighth book. After reading Fallout it became clear it might have been better to start at the beginning and follow the team to this point.

Fallout is a perfect choice for those who enjoy action-packed thrillers and are already following the Persecution Force series. Thanks to Severn River for providing me with an advance reader's copy via Edelweiss. My review is voluntary and expresses my honest opinion.

Wow! Fast paced, Fall Out picks up where Nuclear Nation leaves off with the majority of Reed’s team captured, Lucy shell-shocked and Turk pushing himself to the brink to save his team. I’m a big fan of Turk throughout this story – he just keeps pushing on through everything, never abandons his team and is just a solid individual. The acting president also grows significantly as the enemy forces are brought to light. I really hope the cliff hanger at the end doesn’t unravel his strength as the world approaches WWIII. Only the next installment will tell. It took Lucy quite a while to snap out of it, but when she returned, she became a full up member again as they searched for Reed and the remaining crew. The extreme torture became unbelievable to the point that everyone has a breaking point and information gained in that fashion is fairly unreliable anyway – so while the enemy forces stated they wanted information, they also stated they would just torture them to death if no info provided. Wanting information vs torture for the sake of torture do not work well together so that by the time a ‘carrot’ is offered, it’s meaningless. Overall, a good continuation of a good team going up against extreme odds and Turk is the hero in this book.

Whew! Everytime I think the Prosecution Force volume I just finished was the most intense, along comes the next book and blows my mind. Fallout was no exception to the rule, and I feel privileged to have had the opportunity to preview it.

Having to overcome incredible odds is nothing new for the Prosecution Force. This go around, Turk takes the lead and perseveres in his efforts to free Reed and other imprisoned members of the force. Meanwhile, the chess match continues between Russia and the US with the addition of other world powers, and the deck seems stacked against acting President Stratton and his team of cabinet and military commanders. He begins to realize how much he needs to get the unsanctioned Prosecution Force back into play, with their insider knowledge that might just turn the tide.

It's one hell of an action-packed, thrilling ride that you won't regret picking up. I highly recommend this and all of the Prosecution Force volumes leading up to this realistic and heart-pounding plot. Meanwhile, I can't wait to see where Ryles will take us next with Reed, Turk and the rest of the Force!

In Logan Ryles's electrifying new novel, Fallout, an elite Prosecution Force team vanishes without a trace after completing their mission in Georgia. With two catastrophic nuclear blasts—one crippling the Panama Canal, the other in the desolate reaches of Azerbaijan—special operative Turk is thrust into a clandestine, off-the-record mission. His objective: extract his missing team members from Azerbaijan. But this isn't just a rescue; Azerbaijan has become the epicentre of a new geopolitical battle. As the U.S. President is sidelined by illness and the Vice-President is perceived as indecisive, a powerful alliance of China, Iran, and Russia seizes the opportunity to challenge American dominance. What unfolds is a non-stop, heart-pounding struggle for survival and supremacy. Prepare to be utterly engrossed; this is a thriller you'll want to devour in one sitting.

I received an ARC from "Severn River" and I am voluntarily leaving an honest review.

The story picks up with Reed and 4 others being captured as a result of the nuclear bomb going off. Turk was also there, but he and Lucy managed to escape. Reed told Turk to get a message to Langley and leave. The 5 are taken to a black site for interrogation and are tortured. At the same time the Russians are preparing to invade Azerbaijan and they are poised on the border. The Azerbaijan army is rushing to the northern border. The Russians have other plans for the country.

Follow Turk and Lucy and they travel the country to deliver the message to Langley. Learn what obstacles they had to face. Discover the actions thea Lucy and Turk once the message was delivered and how the team at the prison survived.

There is a great deal of action and the ending is mind blowing.

This is a definite read, don't miss out!

Too much

If it's possible to put too much action in one story, then this book did it.
It literally seems to be one moment of mayhem followed by another. Even the debates are heated and full of action, just not the violent type
The book starts from the exact ending of book 7, so if you haven't read that recently, read the last chapter of that again, would be my suggestion.
The premise of the book is the desire of Russia to expand, but doing it in such away that the US cannot interfere and in fact is blamed for a lot of the issues. The prosecution forces remit is to prove it's Russia and bring evidence out to prove it
In the end they fail, but win, at least for now.
Given how the last few paragraphs ended, book 9 could.prpve interesting

Let's get the location set, Azerbaijan, hereafter known as Azer in this review. The Russians had driven a truck into Azer equipt with a nuclear bomb. Before it detonated, Reed and his team verified that it had a USA stamp on it, but the USA does not manufacture this type of bomb. They get blamed for it anyway and Acting President Stanton is very slow to respond. Meanwhile, Reed and his team are captured and taken to a prison to be tortured. All except Turk and Lucy, and Lucy is shell shocked. So now it is the Turk show and Langley refuses to help. His odds of succeeding and rescuing the team are about 0.0%. Reed would do it for him. This is page after page of exciting adventure and could very well end up being my favorite book of the year.

Another excellent storyline.

Gripping from start to finish as Reed and the prosecution team have to fight for their lives after discovering the threat of a nuclear weapon being used in Azerbaijan by the Russian President to destabilise the region whilst trying to blame America and start WW3.
During the attempt to stop the bomb from detonating Reed and his team fail and are subsequently captured by the Azerbaijan army who move them to a black site where they are tortured and ultimately have to be rescued by two of their team who avoided capture and a unit of Rangers but not soon enough to stop one of the team from being tortured to death.

This was a good book but it should have been the ending to the previous book instead of stand alone. There was just enough time between release dates to forget some things and by the time it was all familiar much of this book was finished.
Once I was settled into the characters and what was happening the writing was heart pounding and the usual high quality. Then it abruptly ended needing the book to be released in several months to tie up ends.

I would greatly prefer a longer book (even if it cost more) to these almost vignettes. This author is talented but can do better by tying his books together

Leading on directly from the previous book, Reid and some of the prosecution force have been taken prisoner with no hope of escape and little hope of rescue. a little slow to get started but picked up pace and tension to an action packed second half. Several storylines in the same timeframe added to tension. Great read.

The whole Prosecution team doesn't show up till 70% of the book is read. Turk and Lucy are the main characters as the rest of the team is captured and tortured. I skipped most of the torture chapters. Turk is a one man wrecking crew with Lucy recovering from shell shock. The ending was good but too many loose ends remain. Hopefully book 9 will bring this story line to an end.
