What a great way to end my reading for this year!
Thank you for putting your heart into this work and sharing it with the world. I am looking forward to reinforcing my morning and evening routines to be more intentional about my work and my life!

I have both a favorite quote(s) and a favorite question in this book

Reconnecting with ourselves in our identity, allows us to live a life of purpose.

Before we can do something different, sometimes we have to be something different so that doing sticks.

How would you like people to describe you when you’re not around or remember you when you’re gone?

I often find it hard to read (or listen to) self-help books. I listened to Take It All Apart and found that the content was presented in a manner that was digestible, easy to understand, and encouraged self-reflection at the end of each chapter. A number of nuggets that I garnered during my read - "if you don't feel, you can't heal"; methods to shifting your energy (dancing, breathing, intense exercise); and "wanting things is not bad, but attaching our feelings to them is". It gives me a new perspective on moving beyond the shame/hurt and starting a new chapter. Essentially, the path to positive outcomes and less stress/anxiety would be connecting to your true self (the good, bad, and ugly) and accepting who you are, what choices you made, and how they shaped you. I struggle with beating myself up about my historical bad choices, but was heartened with the concept presented for surrender and release. Overall, the book presented a lot of methods to untangling the ball that is one's current life and creating strong patterns and methods to deal with what life throws at you.

Take It All Apart: A Thoughtful Guide to Intentional Living 🌟
Rating: 3.5/5 stars ⭐⭐⭐✨

Take It All Apart is Lindsay Leahy's debut work, and it's a solid entry into the self-help space! 📚 One of the highlights for me was recognizing narrator Jean Ann Douglas's voice—she also narrated Kristen Neff's "Fierce Self-Compassion" and brings that same gentle, compassionate tone to this audiobook. 🎧 Her narration style perfectly complements Leahy's message, creating a professional yet warm atmosphere that feels like having a thoughtful conversation with a trusted mentor.
This book is geared toward women who want to embrace their logical, professional side. 💼 It isn't just theory—Leahy includes a workbook component to help you actually implement these concepts in your life.

A huge thank you to Greenleaf Audio for providing me with an advanced reader's copy of this audiobook in exchange for my honest review! 🙏

This is an excellent read that grabbed my immediate attention! Take It All Apart is a ‘how to’ guide to personal growth. The author’s carefully crafted approach – gleaned from her own experiences and from working with her clients - provides a roadmap for any age to use to become more purposeful in life, work, and relationships. The author exudes a feeling of warmth and kindness in leading you through a transformation from old ways to new, habit-forming changes as you progress through the plan. I loved this book – it is the rare one that ‘sticks’ with you long after you are finished reading!

This book is pretty powerful but comes in ebbs and flows. Leahy makes humble admissions and epiphanies from her own journey that are both relatable and telling as a woman in corporate America. I appreciated the humility and honesty of this book and do believe that corporations would do well to gift this to their new leaders.

Thank you to Leahy's team and Netgalley for giving me the opportunity to listen to this in exchange for a review.

Lindsay challenges and supports you through your personal journey of reflection, vulnerability, strengths discovery on your way to developing clarity and an action plan. Her guidance is affirmed through relatable and personal stories and experiences that help you feel connected to her through the pages. It's a perfect blend of theory and practice that I will continue to return to.

This book was meaningful in a way that other self-help books have not quite been for me. It may have something to do with my age, or it may have something to do with the good things I’ve heard about the author – I don’t know, but this book seems to be much more in my real house than other books on how to be happy or successful.
