Doubtless by Alyssa Kumle opened my eyes in a profound way. As a counselor with many years of experience working with people with disabilities, I was deeply moved by her perspective as someone living with a disability. Her vulnerability and insight stirred greater compassion in me—something I continually seek to grow in.

Alyssa doesn’t shy away from hard truths. She shares openly about the pain of being sidelined by superficial Christian peers and the doubts she wrestled with. Yet she also radiates gratitude—for those who saw her, affirmed her identity in Christ, and encouraged her along the way. Her humility and honesty are refreshing.

What inspired me most is how much she’s accomplished in her young life—not by ignoring her limitations, but by refusing to let them define her. She sheds light on the healing power of art and art therapy and paints a picture of what it means to be truly “set apart” for God’s purposes.

This book speaks to anyone wrestling with grief, identity, or doubt. It's rich with themes of brokenness and entrusting, spiritual warfare, forgiveness, and our hope in Christ. Highly recommended—for those with disabilities, those who love them, and anyone seeking to walk by faith, not by sight.

This book was incredibly moving and inspiring. Alyssa Kumle shares her journey of being diagnosed with an incurable degenerative neurological disorder at a young age and what it's been like to live with a disability ever since. Her writing is honest, vulnerable, and full of grace. I really appreciated how she didn’t shy away from the hard parts but still kept her faith at the center of it all. It's a powerful reminder of resilience, hope, and trusting God through the unknown. Highly recommend to anyone looking for an honest and uplifting read.

This is a profound story of devastating loss, and the journey of humility, surrender and the power of faith, community and courage to overcome. Alyssa’s book has helped me connect to my own grief and inspired me to dive deeper into hope and trust. I received an Advanced Reader Copy of the book from the author and I read the first 12 chapters in one sitting. This book is a reminder of the light in the midst of the darkness. I would highly recommend.

I am inspired by Alyssa Kumle’s story of hope in Doubtless. The author's creativity paints a detailed picture of obstacles, overcoming, and strength in her journey through suffering and heartache. Alyssa Kumle provides words that not only capture my attention but invite me to become more steadfast on not giving up on my dreams. I am humbled by the challenges that people with disabilities face daily. I look forward to reading other books written by her.
