Tillie Buchanan is not like those floofy girls in town. Marriage doesn’t interest her, and neither do most of the men she knows. All she’s ever wanted to do is manage Buchanan Hollow, the ranch she runs because her Pops is too lazy to care. Or so she thought. Because her father just hired a dad-blasted city slicker who has no place on a ranch. If it’s the last thing she does, she’s going to get rid of him. The fact that the stranger is darkly handsome and mysterious is irrelevant.
When Dr. Eli Knight is called in to save the life of a gangster’s dying son, he never expects that he’ll end up fleeing for his life...to Texas, of all places. He certainly never imagined he’d end up working for Tillie Buchanan, the orneriest woman in Texas. But ornery or not, he finds her ambition, her intelligence and the freckles on her nose fascinating. But even more fascinating is what Tillie does when her father announces she has sixty days to get married or she loses the ranch.
Tillie isn’t a girl to take orders lying down, especially from her lazy, no-good Pops. If the men of Texas want to win her hand, and her ranch, they’ll have to compete in a knight’s quest. Unfortunately for those poor men, Tillie has a trick or two up her sleeve.

‘Knight Time in Texas’ was entertaining. The mirthful plot was filled with hilarity, running from and dodging a notorious gangster, using a different name, working on a farm, interesting family dynamics, a father’s ultimatum involving a daughter getting married, hatching a plan for “knightly” quests, more humor, falling for each other, oh no…the unwanted cousin was en route, a major confession, a kidnapping, an unwanted blast from the past, a certain person took the lead, and love. Eli and Tillie, the protagonists, were ideally suited for each other and gushed with chemistry. In addition, I liked the author’s attention to vivid details including imagery, figurative language, and humorous dialogue/narration such as, “He might be just the perfect husband; old enough to know what’s what but too feeble to take advantage of the knowledge.” Overall, I liked the laughter-filled narrative. Tillie is my kinda girl, tough as nails, living the ranch life and forcing the men of the time to accept the fact she is as capable as the next man. Running her dad’s ranch since she was 16yrs. She fully expects to inherit yet her dad realizes she won’t be able to do it alone. So he gives her no choice but to hold a quest to find her knight in shining armor. Unfortunately things don’t go quite as planned. Tillie may have set herself up for a big disappointment. Eli comes to town and is hiding from gangsters. So he knows he can’t get serious about Tillie but that doesn’t stop him from attempting to help. Now if he can figure out how to find out if the gangsters are still after him or if he can stop running. I really enjoyed this book. It was lively and kept me entertained. I’d definitely recommend it. I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
This was great fun! Go wild out West in this slightly crazy read of girl cowboy Tillie and doctor turned cowhand Eli. She’s tough, clever, resourceful and a romantic beneath her cowboy shirt and trousers; no damsel in distress but that doesn’t mean she can’t dream of a man who will walk through fire for her.
Eli doesn’t quite do that but he’s astute enough to figure out her plans and self confident enough not to be steam rollered by her will and vitality. He loves her intelligence!
Neither of them are invincible so we can love them all the more for it.

This was a great story! I enjoyed the whole storyline. A bit of love, gangster, ranch work, animals and tension. The dance between the two main characters was fun. With a bit of humour where the nasty cousin was concerned ! Was a nice outcome for him. I liked the strong female character and seeing how she eventually was won over by the male main character. It was a nice Saturday read!

After only reading two books by the author, color me a true fan. Knight Time In Texas is a romantic comedy with some drama thrown in for good effect. The lead characters go together like karaoke night and introverts. The plot is interesting, humorous, and has some interesting twists. If you enjoy a quick, light read, give this one a shot. I don’t think you’ll be disappointed.
another on my list This was the first book I´ve read from this author but it surely won´t be the last. I liked the strong female character and the combination of life on a ranch, dealing with gansters and the two protagonists dancing around each other, things surely never got boring.
