Enjoy this dark motorcycle club romance from USA Today Bestselling MC romance author Jessica Ames...

MACE

The Pioneers are gone, but my club is fighting a new war—one from within. Our president is a disgrace to the patch, but removing a king from his throne is not an easy task. It will take all of our cunning to take the head off the snake.

The last thing I need is to be distracted by a woman when the stakes are so high, but the moment I see her, I’m consumed with the need to own her. Maylie is sunshine in a cloudy sky, and even though I know I am not good for her, I can’t walk away.

MAYLIE

From the moment my mother died, I’ve been raising my two younger siblings and trying to protect what remains of my shattered family. I never expected to be a guardian at eighteen, and I never expected at twenty-two to never have been kissed. All I want is to be a normal girl, in love with a guy, so when Mace barrels into my life I fall hard and fast. He’s everything I’ve ever dreamed of, but when he finds out my secrets, he’ll run and he’ll break my heart…

All books in the Untamed Sons universe can be read as standalones, but are better enjoyed read in order. This is a dark romantic story with a guaranteed happily ever after. It does have some strong language, graphic violence and content that might be triggering.

As far as starts go for a new series this one is a winner. Mace and Maylies stories were heartbreaking. But their chemistry and love for each other is something to read.
I don’t do spoilers but there is an underlying story arc here that I can’t wait to see play out. If you love MC and romance with a tinge of dark thrown in for good measure mark your calendars guys this book is for you.
I received an arc from the author but the review is all mine.

Mace and Maylie

And we are off to following another chapter of the Untamed Sons MC and Mace and Maylie’s story makes this a series to follow. They couldn’t be more different as far as Mace being the bad boy biker and Maylie a woman who has been the guardian for her siblings from a young age but they couldn’t be a better fit. They both have things to work through

The club drama is keeps you on your toes as there is unrest. I loved watching these two working through to get their HEA. I have loved this author’s MC books and this book is no different and now I can’t wait to see what comes next.

This was going decent, but then I couldn't stand the FMC anymore. The FMC was the most ridiculous martyr I've ever seen. She's the type that would refuse water in a desert if someone tried to help her. She'd get mad and ask why they're in her business and stop pitying her. She got on my last nerve.

This was my first time reading Jessica Ames, and it was quite the introduction! Mace is a story with a lot of moving parts, and while I enjoyed the depth of the plot, I found the pacing to be a bit of a slow burn—not just in the romance, but in the club business as well.

There is a lot going on in this book. On one hand, you have Maylie, who is such a strong, selfless character. At only 22, she’s carrying the weight of the world on her shoulders, raising her two siblings alone after their mother’s death. Her struggle felt very raw and real. On the other hand, you have Mace and the internal war within the Birmingham Chapter. The club politics, the "snake" in the leadership, and the power struggles added a layer of intensity that kept me hooked.

At times, it felt like there were so many threads being pulled at once. One subplot would take the lead, while another would be put on "hold" or become secondary for a while, before switching back. Because of this, the rhythm felt a little disconnected occasionally, and the "dark" elements were sometimes overshadowed by the family drama.

However, despite the slower pace, the stakes are incredibly high. That tension is exactly what pushed me to keep reading—I just had to know how Mace would handle the club's betrayal and how Maylie would survive her family's secrets. By the end, I felt invested in this world.

It’s an emotional, gritty start to the series, and even though I would have liked a slightly tighter pace, the foreshadowing for the next books worked on me! I’ll definitely be continuing with the series to see how the rest of the Untamed Sons handle the fallout.

If you like an MC romance that takes its time building the world and focuses heavily on family loyalty (and doesn't mind a bit of a cliffhanger regarding the club's future), this is a solid read.

It's good but super slow burn in every aspect. The romamce, the steamy part, the club business. All slow.
I understand this is the first book in the series and the club business going to go on to the next book, but still, cause of the slow-ness, this book feels more like contemp romance than dark.
All sweet, with a bit of drama, a pinch of steamy and add in bit of dark.

Slow

This was slow it was good on the romance but it was slow burn. There wasn't another happening in it and they kept wanting to over throw the club president but nothing really happened which was disappointing and a let down for this book just not for me this one

MACE is the first instalment in Jessica Ames’ contemporary, adult UNTAMED SONS MC: BIRMINGHAM dark, erotic, MC romance series-a spin off from the author’s interconnected UNTAMED SONS MC. This is Road Captain Mason aka Mace, and twenty-two year old, bar waitress Maylie Fernsby’s story line.

NOTE: Due to the nature of the storyline premise, there may be triggers for more sensitive readers.

Told from dual first person perspectives (Maylie & Mace) focusing on two timelines, MACE follows the building relationship between Mace and Maylie. Maylie Fernsby has been raising her younger brother Toby and sister Ivy since the death of their mother years before but working as a bar waitress is barely paying the bills; her seventeen year old sister is spiralling out of control, she is behind on the rent and her landlord is pushing for something more; and the Untamed Sons MC is about to take over Temptation, the club where she works yet Maylie never expected to come face to face with her future in the guise of Untamed Sons MC Road Captain Mace, the man with whom Maylie will fall in love. From handsie customers, a lecherous landlord, and her sister’s questionable boyfriend, Maylie is targeted at every turn. With the help and protection of Mace and the members of the Untamed Sons MC, Maylie and her sister begin to rest easy until the past returns, taking aim at our story line heroine.

The world building follows several paths including the imploding hierarchy of the Untamed Sons MC; the take over at Temptation ; the fall-out of dysfunctional family values; and a young woman’s desire to find first love.

The relationship between Mace and Maylie is one of immediate attraction but Maylie has responsibilities back home, and is struggling to pay the bills. Desperate in the face of threats and the breakdown of her family, Maylie goes to Mace in an effort to seek protection for the people she loves. The $ex scenes are intimate and provocative.

There is a large ensemble cast of colorful and charismatic secondary and supporting characters. We are introduced to MC members Nicky, Nate aka Riot , Crank; Maylie’s siblings Ivy and Toby; and the return of Howler, Nox, and Ravage. The requisite evil has many faces.

MACE is a story of power and control; betrayal and vengeance, secrets and lies;violence and murder; family and relationships, acceptance and love. The character driven premise is dramatic and intense; the romance is seductive; the characters are dynamic and determined. MACE ends on a bit of a cliff hanger-you have been warned.

Maylie is a mama bear to her brother and sister and works to make ends meet. She has had to grow up quickly and while her life spirals at times, she still puts on a cheery face and is well liked by her coworkers. She can ramble when she’s nervous but will stand up for you through thick and thin. She is honest and down to earth and has a big heart.

Mace hasn’t had the happiest of childhoods but he has grown into a responsible and dependable individual to the Son. He will meet out punishment when the people he cares about are threaten or harmed and he will always have his friends’ backs. He is to the point and will be straight forward, putting 110%.

These two! The moment they meet, there is chemistry but these two take their time to get to understand each other and while neither want to other to get involved in their own messy lives, they gravitate toward each other nonetheless. Maylie shows that she wants to take care of Mace and see him for who he is, even in his darker moments. She is his sunshine. Mace willingly provides security and stability to Maylie, stepping up even when her family is in trouble. The two of them are open and honest and work together. I loved their banter and interactions giving me butterflies!

Moreover, we see there is some unrest within the club itself as there as some shady characters and loyalties are questionable. This Birmingham chapter has a few things to settle from within. We also hear from the other chapters, so while it would be helpful to read those series to get some background on why the Birmingham chapter is the way it is, I wouldn’t say it is necessary but would still recommend if you want to meet some other cool characters and read engaging stories. Additionally, we get a bit of suspense and tension from a few sides.

Overall this was a great first entry into this new chapter and I cannot wait to read Riot and Ivy’s story next.

Jessica Ames's book Mace, is the first book in the third branch of the Untamed Sons MC series, and like all of her other books, it immediately encompasses the readers and refuses to let them draw a full breath until they've turned the last page.

Mace is a high octave story that goes full throttle from page one, with the MC Club just getting out of one fight as a whole, and the Birmingham Chapter of the MC about to get into an entirely new fight, and the other Chapters lining up to back them up.Only this isn't a fight with an outside enemy. This is about to become a civil war, taking a president of the MC out of power, because all he wants is power and the freedom to mess around, then replace him with a man who actually cares about the MC, and wants to help restore it to the "glory" it was with the help of his new Vice President Mace.

Mace doesn't want power or prestige, he just wants to do his job and have the freedom to ride. Then he meets Maylie who is bartending at a strip club his MC just took over. Unable to stop thinking about her, Mace starts working a security detail every shift Maylie works, keeping her safe from drunk/over-entitled, men who can't keep their hands to themselves. Over time, Mace and Maylie become friends and he learns she is caring for her younger brother and sister. Maylie thinks that knowledge will push Mace away, but it only pulls him closer as he was raised in the foster system and Maylie raising her siblings instead of putting them in the system makes him admire her even more.

Mace is a book that will rip out your heart and sew in a new one just to make sure you have what it want: a bleeding heart. Ms. Ames doesn't fool around, she knows the buttons to push to make her readers laugh, cry, scream, and beg why? If readers enjoy books full of action and take charge, Alpha bikers, then Mace is just the book to read, especially being the first book in a new off shoot to an amazing series.

I’ll admit, I might have been a bit harsh when I reviewed the first book in the Manchester Chapter of the Untamed Sons MC series a while back, but wow, this new series completely turned things around and I was hooked from the first page. Mace’s story is as gritty as it is gripping. Raised by an abusive, alcoholic mother, he found an unlikely refuge with the MC, even before he was old enough to officially join. Now the MC’s Road Captain, he’s neck-deep in a storm of inner-club turmoil, unsure of who he can trust beyond Riot and Nicky. The last thing he needs is a complication like Maylie... but life has other plans. Maylie works at Temptations, the MC’s newly "acquired" bar and strip joint, where she immediately catches Mace’s attention. He watches her stand up to his intimidating brothers and plea for another man’s life, despite her evident fear of them and the consequences. Watching her hold her ground earns Mace’s respect, and before long, he’s appointed himself her protector. What follows is an intoxicating slow burn romance that had me savoring every moment. Despite all the chaos in their lives, Mace and Maylie’s connection felt genuine and unforced. Maylie was the perfect blend of innocence and strength with her fierce determination to look after her siblings and her lack of experience with men. Her nervous rambling was adorable and her banter with Mace had me grinning like a loon. Jessica masterfully weaves a tapestry of storylines here with action, romance, betrayal, family struggles, and personal redemption—all while keeping the focus on two beautifully broken people who make each other whole. This book delivers on every front: heartfelt moments, sizzling chemistry, and edge-of-your-seat drama. I couldn’t put it down!

Mace is 15 when his mother jumps out of the 9th floor window of their apartment. Years later he's a member of the Sons in Birmingham. He's with a group of Sons heading into a strip club they took over after the Pioneer's leader was disposed of. There is where he spies a young woman who intrigues him. When one of his brothers corners her and her friend he intervenes.
Maylie. is only 22 and she has had custody of her younger brother and sister since her mother died when she was 1. Only it's been a hard road lately with her sister who is only 17. She found a job at a strip club serving drinks and working the bar. One night bikers come in and she and her fellow bartender try to sneak out when one of bikers stop them. She's surprised when one of the other bikers intervenes. She thinks he's the most gorgeous man she's ever seen.
From the moment Mace saw Maylie he was drawn to her. She is an innocent and that aura lures him to her. As he tries to learn about her she puts up blockers until the day she can't. When Mace discovers her injured he is set to go ballistic. She doesn't want to let him know who hurt her because it isn't his job to take care of her and her little family. But he slowly gets her to understand that he cares about her so her problems are his. She doesn't understand what he can see in someone like her.
So much baggage that weighs her down and she doesn't want someone stepping in. But her walls are slowly being knocked down.
Danger is all around the two of them...from the Pres of his club to the man who wants to separate Maylie's sister from her. Will Mace be able to convince her that together they are stronger?
A beautiful story of adversity and love.

She has been making it work for the last several years since her mom died and left her with her two younger siblings to care for. She is working as a bar tender just trying to keep their heads above water when the club's new owners step in. They are an MC club and one member in particular makes her feel things that she has never felt before. She has no experience, she has been so busy taking care of her siblings she hasn't had time to date. He is fascinated with her the first time he lays eyes on her, she is spunky yet so innocent it radiates off of her. He knows he doesn't deserve someone so pure like her but he can't stay away, and he sure isn't going to let someone else claim her. It is the worst possible time, there is strife in his MC, things are uncertain, but the one thing he is not uncertain about is her. This is a slow burn in the beginning as the story is laid out, but there is definitely mutual pining going on. When he calls her baby and wraps his hand around her neck for the first time you will feel all the tingles. When he calls her his good girl your panties will drop. There is family drama to navigate, club drama to navigate, but in the midst of it all a slow burn to a hot finish. Once the spice hits it only gets steamier from there . This is the first book in the series, and they do get their happily ever after together. This was really good, better than I was expecting and I can't wait for the next one to come out. There was definitely foreshadowing as to who it would be about, and it is clear some of the MC story has more to unwind.

Fuck, she's adorable, and I don't do adorable. I'll destroy her in the same way I destroy everything around me, and yet there is no force on earth that can stop this. I want this woman.

I'm so glad to be back in the Untamed Sons world! I've read and loved both of the previous series set in the Untamed Sons world by Jessica Ames, and I am so excited to start on the Birmingham chapter. Maylie was such a fantastic heroine and probably my favorite one of Jessica's so far. Even though she was young herself, she was forced to grow up so quickly in order to keep her family together. I absolutely loved her strength, resilience, selflessness, and vulnerability, and I connected with her heartache so much. Despite Mace's grumpy exterior, he was such a great balance for Maylie. Mace was as much of a cinnamon roll hero that a brooding member of the Untamed Sons can be, and his patience and love for Maylie and her siblings were unwavering. I loved seeing past characters from the London and Manchester chapters, and I look forward to more in this world🖤

Tropes: opposites attract, lust-at-first-sight, protective obsessed hero, strong heroine, 'touch her and die' vibes, hurt/comfort, 'who did this to you' vibes, grumpy/sunshine, found family, band of brothers, STEAMY🔥

Trigger warnings: domestic violence/physical abuse, dub-con, verbal/physical abuse by a parent, drug use, MC violence and gore

One of the best things about this author is her consistent ability to write heart-racing, adrenaline-inducing stories that are impossible to put down, and this new series starter is no exception. As established in the previous Untamed Sons series, this MC brotherhood has a history of taking care of those important to them, at any cost. I love the darker themes in this one, and how Maylie’s sunshine and positivity is exactly what Mace needs.

Mace has always lacked stability, but he shares a strong connection with a select few of his “brothers”. My frustration simmered as the pages turned, because of the turmoil within the Birmingham chapter, from the top down, stirring a mix of distrust and resentment towards those responsible. Maylie is determined to keep her family together, so she reluctantly continues to work as a bartender at a strip club, now under the management of the USMC. While this changeover is filled with drama, Mace becomes drawn to Maylie after witnessing her brave, albeit foolish, act and resolves to protect her. It is definitely in her favor, as she is completely unaware of the predicament her sister Ivy is dealing with!

I found the dynamic between these two and Mace’s commanding presence to be quite enjoyable. Their dynamic was fantastic, and I appreciated how he accepted her and her family’s drama as his own, especially enjoying the way she challenges him! The steamy chemistry between them was intense, and I found the development of their relationship and their HEA enjoyable.

Overall, this had me gripping the edge of my seat, with the pages flipping effortlessly. As with all of the stories in the Untamed Sons MC, these characters and stories are hard to forget, and I enjoyed my time in these pages. I was thrilled with how things turned out for this couple, especially Mace, and I ended the book feeling very satisfied.

To fully enjoy the USMC series, it’s best to begin with Ravage in the London chapter and read in order. Start falling in love with this club now, and go back to Ravage later. I suggest checking out the other engaging works by this author as well. Each one grabs your attention and is well-written. I can’t wait to see what she does next.

This is the 1st book in the Untamed Sons MC:Birmingham Chapter featuring the dark page-turning grumpy/sunshine, MC, slow-burn romance between Mace and Maylie. Mace and Maylie meet each other when his MC takes over the bar where she works. When money starts coming up missing because of the manager the MC is looking for answers. However Maylie being the nice sweet person that she is she defends the manager and she begs to spare his life. Maylie is struggling to take care of her younger siblings that's why she's working as a bartender in a strip club. Maylie captures Mace's attention when she begs the MC to spare the managers life so he offers to watch over the bar so that he can watch Maylie and protect her. Mace doesn't trust too many members of his MC due to the betrayal and the turmoil that the current President has caused. Maylie is used to always having to fend for herself but when she meets Mace he goes above and beyond to help her protect her family and keep things from falling apart. I don't want to say anymore and ruin it for anyone else with spoilers. You really need to read this dark page-turning, grumpy/sunshine, MC, slow-burn romance to see what happens. I would recommend reading this book.

I was so sad when i finished Trick, the last book in Manchester Chapter, because I thought it was the end of the series. But no! Jessica Ames had this gem up her sleeve.
I absolutely loved Mace and adored Maylie from the get go. Mace survived a horrific childhood, and he really believed it left him with no heart; nothing to give except to his foster mom, foster brother, and a chosen brother. With all the turmoil and distrust within his chapter of the Untamed Sons, he can't even trust anyone there, especially the Prez, except his two brothers. And then, along comes Maylie. A ray of sunshine. He sees behind her sunny mask, and won't let her hide behind it with him. He jumps all in, wanting her AND her family. He sees how hard she works to keep them all together, and has nothing but admiration for her. He wished someone had done that for him.
Maylie can't believe this smexy as hell man really has an interest in her. But Mace shows time and again that he's in it for the long haul. He wants to take care of her, she wants to take care of him. They are perfect for each other. A fantastic start to this next chapter of the Sons, and I can't wait to see where Jessica takes us next. Buckle up and enjoy the ride!

Mace - a member of the MC who only trusts 2 of his brothers after all the turmoil and betrayal that’s been happening under the current President.
Maylie - a struggling older sister working as a bartender to make ends meet to keep a roof over her younger siblings head.
Mace & Maylie meet when the MC takes over the bar where Maylie works. The current manager has been stealing and the MC wants answers, but Maylie being the kind and sweet woman she is stands up for the current manager and begs for his life. This catches Mace’s attention. Once the MC takes over Mace volunteers to oversee the bar for now so he can keep his eyes on Maylie. After an altercation with a sketchy customer where Mace intervenes he knows that he had to make Maylie his.
Maylie has a run in with her sisters much older boyfriend who isn’t being kind to her. After a 3rd altercation Maylie decides she has to leave town and calls Mace for help.
Will Mace help Maylie leave town?
Will Maylie accept Mace’s claim?
Will Mace & his brothers be able to help with Maylie’s problem?
What’s the future of the MC hold?

Just a really good read!
I was a little concerned with the TW's but soon realized there was really no concern needed. This story gave all the feels while taking you on a Rollercoaster of a ride and I was there for it. Maylie started off a tad bit annoying as you could see the cracks in her life, but once she met Mace she finally could be herself and that made a huge difference in her story. I loved that Mace had been through so much that he could tell when Maylie was just going through the motions and pushed her to open up and was there for her once her world came crashing. Very good read and the side characters Toby, I've, nick and Riot only added to the story. I was glad Maylie stood up to Della because hey Della wasn't the only one who deserved happiness and she wasn't the best of a friend if she wasn't able to pick up on the fact that Maylie had so much going on and just smiled through it all. Highly recommend although not alot about the MC but I guess as this was the start of the series more of the club will be forthcoming in future books.. Definitely worth the read!.

This story was a keep you on the edge of your seat ride loaded with raw emotions and I truly enjoyed it. Maylie hasn’t had it easy raising her siblings and struggling day to day, but she always puts on a brave face never allowing others to see how much she truly suffers. She is selfless and carries so much on her shoulders and when Mace comes into her life she knows the smart thing would be to stay away from him, but something about him draws her in. Mace never had it easy and found his own family within his club, but he carries the weight of his own demons plus the club is poisoned now and he is bidding his time until it gets better. When his path crosses with Maylie things will never be the same for him. I adored Mace and once he decided Maylie was it for him, he was all in he only had to convince her that he would always have her back. Maylie was very hesitant to let Mace in and I get it because she comes with a lot of baggage and her self esteem has taken some hits, but she was such a kind soul that deserved it all. The story was a slow burn with a lot of suspense and just when I thought one thing would happen it went the other direction.

Woah! What an awesome and gripping start to a new chapter of Untamed Sons. This is Birmingham. The series starts with Mace's book. I gotta say, I absolutely loved him. I loved that we didn't see him with any other woman while at the club, in his past, etc. Not that he hadn't been with anyone ever, but I still appreciated it. He has always thought his heart was cold and dead because of his past. All that changed when he saw Maylie the first time. The vision of her just woke something up on him. He couldn't stay away. This was a slow burn. It was really long for a Sons book. But given the past we had to navigate for Mace and Maylie's past and present situation, there was a lot to go over. Maylie was so sweet and innocent. But she was also fiercely loyal and protective of those she loved. Her and Mace have that in common. I absolutely loved seeing these two fall in love. It was epic and perfect. I cannot wait to see the drama unfold. So excited for Riot's book and to see Crank meet the righteous justice he deserves.

This book is off the charts..I loved the innocence of Maylie yet her fierce determination to provide for her family that she always put herself last and Mace wasn't going to allow that to happen having been someone else's burden he wished to lighten her load and in the process found the family he always wished he had and more. I'm hoping that things get resolved where Maggie is concerned and we get more in Riots story.

Ivy came off as abit of a B but given her circumstances you can see why she acted the way she did, yet she seems to want to jump from one hot seat to the next. I'm hoping that Riot stands his ground where that's concerned yet I would love to read more about the big bad bikers and little babies

Loved the ending and a glimpse into how thing's will go for Nicky.. please please for the love of God keep him away from Chloe I really think she needs someone strong outside of the club..I don't know her motives for being with Crank but it just seems desperate to be top dog.

Let me start off by saying this was my first read by this author. I’m a huge lover of MC stories and was told I needed to read her MC. Boy am I glad I took that advice! This first book in this new series literally blew me away! It has everything that I love about MC and more! Mace is the Road Captain of the Untamed Sons. From the very beginning where I learned about Mace, I fell in love with him. He may have had a rough start in life, but he pulled himself out of the darkness and started a new life with the MC. When he meets Maylie, a beautiful young girl working at the bar, he is instantly enamored and will do anything to get her to go out with him. But Maylie is unsure, she has her own troubles in life and doesn’t need more complications. Mace is bound and determined and Maylie is unprepared for all that is Mace. I enjoyed their witty banter and the respect they have for each ofher. I enjoyed the somewhat slow burn because when these two come together the flames burn right off the pages of my Kindle. My heart hurt for both Mace and Maylie with how their lives started but I just knew in my heart, these two could get thru any obstacles in their way. This is a brilliant story and I can’t wait for more stories in this series. This author has definitely found a new fan in me!

When Mace first meets Mailee, he’s captivated by her beauty, but as he gets to know her, he discovers her true strength and kindness beneath the surface. Mailee is the guardian of her two siblings, and despite her struggles, she never shows her pain. Mace finds himself drawn to her, realizing that she has a calming effect on his inner turmoil. The attraction between them is undeniable. However, things take a dark turn when Mailee’s sister is threatened by her controlling ex, who, despite being an adult, is harassing the 17-year-old. To add to the pressure, Mailee’s landlord attempts to exploit her vulnerability. With nowhere else to turn, she seeks help from Mace.

At the same time, the Birmingham Chapter is dealing with internal strife. The current President, Crank, is proving to be a coward, causing unrest among the ranks. Mace, along with his best friend Nicky and brother Nate, await a decision from Rav, the National President, about Crank’s leadership.

Page turning.

Maylie and Mace, you cant help but love their story. From Go to Wo this story will have you in its crips because it certainly did for me.
Mace is a loyal brother to his brothers, but his Pres is something else (another side story which is really gripping) When the Untamed sons take over a bar its Maylie who captures his attention, she has that innocent look about her and her soft spoken voice makes him take notice.
Maylie, she has been looking after her siblings since their mother died as she doesn't want them to go into welfare. But when the bar is taken over she is taken by Mace despite all the warnings her colleagues give her. Soon Mace proves to Maylie that its her he wants and he doesn't mind all the baggage that she comes with.

This is a really great story, I totally and utterly loved it and I know you will all to because you cant help but love a book by Jessica.

Another chapter of the untamed sons, Birmingham this time. I really liked the character of Mace, he’s the product of a SA that his mother didn’t get over and took out on him his whole childhood. He never knew Love till his foster mother showed him at 16 then he aged out at 18 and joined the club as a prospect with his best friend Nicky who’s dad was a patched in member. His foster brother joined a few years after which his foster sister never forgave him for.
Maylie is one of the most adorable Female leads ever, she has been bringing up her younger siblings since their mum died and before that she nursed and supported her mum, basically she put her life on hold from 15 years old. To keep the wolf from the door she works the bar at a strip club owned by the Pioneers. The love the way she waffles when she’s nervous and says anything on her mind then dies of embarrassment.
Its love at first sight for these two even if neither of them believe they deserve the other

Gosh I wanted to hug that young boy, to want to save her and himself, then for that climax. But he sure turned into an even more decent man and he still had love to give and a family to hope for one day. Maylie was selfless, everything she gave up or did was for her siblings, even when it was rough she battled on. The best thing to happen to them all was the Sons walking into the club. Sweet romance with darkness and a certain amount of violence. It's MC but honestly the actual club only plays a small part, two brothers and Mace are the main ones. There is a bit of suspense from a couple of directions that keep it interesting. For me though it was Mace and Maylie all the way, I loved the two of them and their nurturing and love for those close to them. I completely focused and got lost in reading right until the end. Can't wait for more.

Fantastic start to the new series. Maylie was such a great character. I had so much respect for her & how she stepped up to care for her siblings after their mom’s death. With all the responsibilities she had to deal w/alone, her life was put completely on hold & even though she never complained it was clear how lonely she was. That’s why it was the best thing ever when Mace entered her life. He was truly her knight in shining armor. I absolutely loved seeing him take care of not only her but her siblings too.
One of my favorite moments & one that had me laughing was when Toby first entered the clubhouse! For a 12 year old he got quite the eyeful!! And his reaction was hilarious.
Next up is Riot’s story & I cannot wait because I could feel something brewing between him & Ivy & I’m excited to see these two together.

Maylie is trying to raise her brother and sister after their mother died and father ran off. Her sister is 17 and rebellious, her brother is much younger. Maylie struggles to earn enough but is trying. Mace (Mason) is a member of the Untamed Sons MC and sees her one night when she is working, when she steps in to ask for leniency for her boss. She is a tiny girl compared to the bikers but her action earns her respect as not many would do what she did.

This is definitely a dark tale with danger lurking. The 2 main characters have great chemistry, and Mace's brothers like to tease him about being whipped.

I have read some of this authors book in the past and usually love them to bits. This story is no different and would recommend it.

I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
