Collects Daredevil (1998) #82-94 And Daredevil Annual (2007) #1. The critically acclaimed creative team of Brubaker and Lark takes the reins! For the past few years, Matt Murdock's life has been teetering on the edge of destruction. Now, pushed beyond the limit, Matt finds himself with no clear way out, the people he calls friends slowly deserting him and Hell's Kitchen slipping out of control. The question is, with his back against the wall, just how far will Daredevil go to reclaim what's his? Blaming himself for Foggy Nelson's death, Matt runs wild behind bars in Rykers, determined to learn out who put his best friend at the end of a knife. But he's not alone in Cell-Block D. There are some familiar faces looking for vengeance! Meanwhile, with Matt in prison, who's that running round Hell's Kitchen as Daredevil?

the devil in cell-block d strong opening, matt in prison and unable to protect his loved ones whilst solving a mystery, top dog shit from brubaker and very appropriate art from lark, i rate that - cameos, promising set up, let’s talk about the pay off
the devil takes a ride twist. then no, i hate seeing superheroes outside of their cities unless it’s well-written, dd speaking french gave me blue beetle war flashbacks. kinda downhill from here but still good, the choice matt has to make makes your heart sink
blind love saddest shit ever, necessary issue in creating depth and offering perspective on what it meant to be matt’s lover after karen page - reminded me of spiderman blue, i need to get on yellow
devil may care interesting - pov of one of the inmates, real punisher shit, i can see how it’s connected but it’s definitely just an extra thing that goes to show you can’t save everyone especially if their biggest enemy is themself
weighing everything up, with my favourite bits being the first arc and the blind love issue — 3.75/5 🫥
Really great. Then again, Brubaker never misses. There are a few dangling plot threads from the previous run, and not everything is solved, but this is an enjoyable standalone tale that sees Matt Murdock at his absolute lowest. Which is saying something, because the guy has been through it.
