MELODY TO THE RESCUE

Ah, summer. The perfect time for rest and relaxation. Well, maybe for everyone else, but for Melody, the world’s most perfect maid, rest is a four-letter word. Melody’s determined to keep her lady taken care of—and a good thing too! Because, to Luciana’s dismay, she comes home to find the place in dire straits with wilted crops and a house in disrepair. But with a bit of elbow grease and a few flicks of the wrist, surely there’s no rubble Melody can’t clear, no chaos she can’t bring order to, and no mystery she can’t uncover! Don’t fret, Luciana—Melody is here to save summer!

I've been really enjoying this light novel series about several characters being transported into a otome game after their death but all coming in at different times, with different goals and no clue who the others are. Melody, the main character, is not one I particularly like (her ditzy, pay no attention to anything but work character type is not one that appeals to me) but the very self-aware narration really makes me laugh when the almosts and possible run ins/discoveries get a little irritating. I appreciated in this novel that they spend the August, typically used for romance in the game, for developing the plot, as well as giving Melody a problem she can't magic away completely. The side characters are fun and I appreciate all the different POVs.

Kind of losing its luster. Still really enjoy the main characters, but this little excursion wasn't all that interesting to me.
