Not even half way and I'm debating quiting this book. It's a mess. Normally this author writes unnecessary details for word count and can be pretty repetitive......but I still love her books. I'm struggling with how messy this book is I didn't give up but I'm very disappointed. N it's like she didn't care about this book. There was OBVIOUSLY no editing or proofreading with this book. Heck the stuff I mention below are only a handful of what's wrong with this book as the mistakes were in abundance.
In chapter 1, Kate informs us she's meeting her step sister in two hours. And Thanksgiving is 2 days away. In chapter 2, Kate is shocked when her mother calls to say they're bringing her step sister for dinner.......Thanksgiving dinner THAT day She's also shocked when Kenny shows up even tho Kenny is always there for meals. In Chapter 2 George and his wife are there but a couple chapters later he arrives alone and Kate is surprised to see him. And Laurie, who can barely say full words suddenly knows how to say Uncle George Kenny, who expertly handled baby Laurie and last book helped with the twins, is suddenly nervous holding one of the twins. And then within seconds of Kenny and Vera bouncing a baby on their knee, the babies are suddenly not with anyone. “Down by the waterfront. He wasn’t going by ‘Rick’ back then. I’m almost sure he went by the name Tony. It was a while ago, but I never forget a face.” Two chapters prior George told Kate he knew Rick but as Bruno. Did NO ONE edit this book at ALL???????
And wtf is with Kate suddenly referring to her mother as Vera and WHY TF would Vera ask who should be maid of honour, Kate or the newly revealed Carly........ Kate should have kicked her mom out. And Jim cooks Thanksgiving turkey every year but suddenly he burns it???????? What is going on with this author????????
This was a very cute, cozy read, I finished it altogether in a little over an hour. It was the perfect bóok to read for this time of year, getting me in the mood for Thanksgiving and the good food that goes with it!
Annoying part.of the book had nothing to do with the author. Kindle version has way too many errors. I.considered writing them on paper but that would.have.been anal.
Its was a quick read, delightful, no murders (sorry folks) but Fun either way.
