May 26, 2026I found this book suggestion at a garage sale, so decided to give it a read. I like the length and the twist at the end was good. The middle seemed a bit forceful on blaming other characters and her “over-selling” how wonderful Jeremy was, but I understand why. It also was a shorter book, so I understand needing to be more to the point. I am not leaving a rating, but I must say I struggled (as a happily ever after person) with the ending. I, of course, wanted Jeremy to have been the brother who survived, but it was truly what the crappy mom deserved, so I get it. One thing that didn’t get answered for me was why the dad acted the way he did towards her. We got the mom’s crazy mindset, but the dad’s thinking seemed a bit more normal about letting him live his life, so I was confused.
Storyline reminder for myself:
Before Jeremy leaves on his work trip, he finds out his parents gave up a brother of his. His mom totally sucks and says they didn’t have enough money for two kids… how ridiculous of an excuse. Cameron ends up being an identical twin that kidnaps V (with the help of his adoptive sister saying she lost her dog) and wants Jeremy’s life. Turns out he was following V and pretended to be Cameron a time or two when caught. He then decides he’s going to try to kill Jeremy and take his life. Ben saved V. Cameron ends up being the surviving twin, which his crazy mom realizes with his burn scar. V is prego.

YOU HAVE TO READ THIS!
This booked had me hooked from page 1. Kept me on the edge of my seat. Before I knew it I was at the end and was heartbroken because I just wanted MORE! I am anxiously and as patiently as possible awaiting the next book. Can’t wait for more.

AMAZING!!!!! I was thinking about this book for days after reading it! Soooo good. We want a sequel (or a prequel)!!!!
