Within days, everything changed — including myself. I don't know what I am anymore, but one thing is I am no longer human.

Well, this turned me onto a new subgenre…splatterotica. It left me feeling intrigued…and quite rambunctious. But this was a very unique, culturally-driven horror experience. Very much leaning into splatterpunk, but with a ton more sex than normal. The lore was the highlight here for me, and I adored the word keys to help me further understand the cultural aspects of this story. The absolute ugly levels of gore and sexual content were secondary, but well-balanced and complimentary to the overarching plot. Revenge was another big theme, as was female-empowerment, which I loved, as well. It was all just raw and unfiltered. So much sex and violence. Just magnificent. The ending felt a little incomplete for me, but I understood why the author chose this route. I just wanted a little more of a finale than what was there. However, I very much enjoyed my first read from Luna K. Wicked and plan to dive into their other offerings ASAP.

Not gonna lie, the cousin thing really tripped me up in the beginning, but feminine rage and revenge kept me reading😭 This one is so bloody and gory and morally flexible, it’s truly an insane ride😂 Definitely be wary of triggers before going in because this has A LOT🥸

I was completely captivated. This short novella, packed with intense sex and graphic scenes, was fantastic. I couldn't put it down. Amari was incredible, doing whatever it took to survive, even when everything went wrong.

I will start this off by saying if you are triggered by SA, blood, gore and smut, this is not the book for you.

This book was so different for me as a Romance & Fantasy girly I was second guessing reading it at all. I'm glad I did because I DO NOT REGRET IT AT ALL.
Holy Crap the lore of La Ciguapa is hauntingly perfect and the way this entire story was written, I mean I rooted for La Ciguapa the entire time.

Seeing how she got that way, what drove her and her transformation into a Ciguapa (a special f*** you to Tete, Jordan and Carlos).

I LOVED the dynamic between her and Emmanuel! Quite possibly the most iconic dynamic duo ever. I loved this book. Wow. Thank you Luna for introducing me to genre I've never experienced before 🖤🩸

All I can say is this book is a MUST read!
I was captivated by every single detail @Luna k wickedness wrote. Everything was so well written and I devoured it so fast! **It was chef's kiss!**

I freakin love the main character, Amari. From the beginning to end she was a bad ass. From struggling to keep her house afloat, to having a loss, to get revenge for what she wants, and can't take no for an answer. Amari will put up a fight if she has to and no one can't get in her way.

And omg...the dirtiness that filled this book was down right filthy. I love every second of it. You can say; hunting & s3x is in her nature to find her prey's. Amari will seek when hunger for more. I kept anticipating during each chapter and wanting more.

I was convinced to venture deeper down the dark road with a few words to try out La Ciguapa and I was hooked onto all of it. I hoped to like it. I didn’t anticipate how much I would fkn LOVE it 🫣

La Ciguapa is an old Dominican Folklore that comes to life. I felt angry when watching Amari go through what she had to go through, but I was so proud of what she became, and the revenge she got on those who wronged her. oooh that revenge scene?? priceless!

It’s genuinely so hard to put into words how much I loved this read. Think I might fall down a gory rabbit hole soon 🫠

This short novella was jam packed with smut, guts, blood, and more smut 😏 PLEASE mind your triggers as there are some heavy, descriptive scenes that may be very triggering! ps, this is NOT a romance.

La Ciguapa is a short Splatterpunk, erotic horror; with that being said, make sure you read the trigger warnings before jumping into this one.

Okay, now for the good stuff. - This story was crazy. It was a whole ride and I loved every second of it! Luna K Wicked is so good at throwing such crazy messed up things into her horror books that makes you think “did I really just read what I just read?” Which is one of the best reactions that you need to have when you read these kind of books from these genres! Chapter 10 is the PERFECT example of this!

Another Luna read down, another 10/10 recommend. If you’re looking for a story that is messed up, bloody, and spicy (no romance) that is 100% feminine rage - pick up this story, because that is exactly what La Ciguapa is!

La Ciguapa is a Dominican folklore retelling filled with horror, gore and spice, but in no way shape of form is this book a romance.
Scenes and topic are not suitable for all, so check the TW/CW before diving in.

From the dedication, I knew I was going to be in for a ride, this splatter punk read had me cringing, but unable to put it down, it was definitely the definition of man-eater and I loved it. This book is definitely not for the feint of heart. Femme rage, bloodlust, revenge and gore this book keeps you glued to the pages unable to turn away.

Definitely recommend to those who enjoy horror, splatter punk with folklore influence.

Before reading check Tw’s if you get queasy with blood and gore.
This was my first splatterpunk and I actually enjoyed it I love dark romance so jumping in I ended up loving it.
This is a Dominican retelling of that I’ve never heard of a Ciguapa before it was interesting to find out what they are and how they look.
The spice was spicing and the gore was plenty.
I loved the character Emmanuel and wished he stayed alive but of course Amari is a Ciguapa and her hunger got the best of her.

I thoroughly enjoyed this! It's a nice quick read but it doesn't feel rushed at all! I haven't read anything quite like this yet so I'm impressed!

A Dominican folklore retelling that had plenty of sex and gore. NO ROMANCE. I felt like I was Lucille Bluth sipping tea saying “good for her.” Unhinged and murdery. This gave me similar vibes to 2000s horror films like Jeepers Creepers or The Descent. I’d recommend to readers that want a dark splatter punk novella. The author very accurately described what to expect and delivered.

Luna is QUEEN

Luna is queen of mixing "wt f did i just read" and "Oh that shouldn't be hot, but it is. Always making me question myself and what I find myself being into. This book was such a gory hot wild ride. It was crazy from the start, and didn't stop until the book ended. Short read packed full of "Holy sh x t", loved every minute of it.

This book was wild! A short little read that has you sucked in from the first moment. I loved learning of the Dominican folklore of the Ciguapa, and loved the bilingual additions in the dialogue.

The gore was perfect. Just enough to make you question why you’re enjoying reading it haha! The spice was excellent and I loved the feminine rage and power from the FMC.

Definitely a great read for anyone who enjoyed violence and gore along with their spice.
