Sloane Tarnish isn't the kind of girl who typically harbors celebrity fugitives on the rugged little spaceship she calls home. But now that she's stuck with one, she can't help but feel she's pretty darn good at it, thank you very much.
She doesn't know how long her crew will be able to hide.
She doesn't know what the Cosmic Trade Federation will do next in their bid to control the entire freaking galaxy.
What she does know, with absolute certainty, is that Galactic Fleet Commander Gareth Fortune is innocent of all crimes.
Kate Sheeran Swed loves hot chocolate, plastic dinosaurs, and airplane tickets. She has trekked along the Inca Trail to Macchu Picchu, hiked on the Mýrdalsjökull glacier in Iceland, and climbed the ruins of Masada to watch the sunrise over the Dead Sea. She holds degrees in music from the University of Maine and Ithaca College, as well as an MFA in Fiction from Pacific University. Her stories are forthcoming or have appeared in the Young Explorer's Adventure Guide Volume 5, Daily Science Fiction, Electric Spec, and Andromeda Spaceways. You can find her on Twitter @katesheeranswed.
Sloane and Gareth are working together now, aboard her ship. The commander of the Fleet needs to overcome being framed for killing many of the leaders, and his fellow outcast (Sloane) is allied in what he is trying to do. The tension is ramping up for all the characters. The action is relentless, and we are getting further insights into Gareth’s backstory, as well as feeling the heat between he and Sloane increase. Yet they still need to find the keys to their survival, and a way to prevent the Federation from taking complete control.
This has such a crazy range of emotions! It starts right where the last book left off, and I'm super excited to see the full results of all of the revealed secrets (and partially revealed ones) explode and then, hopefully, for certain characters to get along again.
Also, I thought a certain character was going to turn traitor as was pleasantly surprised when I was wrong. But I'm still trying to figure out just who it is, because there must be one, right?
I flew through this book quickly and am happy book 4 is already out so I can cruise right into it. In Traitor Game, we get a closer look at the Moneymaker's crew dynamics, and things may be more complicated than they seem. I do miss a little of BRO's hilarious commentary, but then again, I'm a sucker for an AI with personality (BRO is in it, but I wanted mooooore! lol). Overall, another smart, funny, action-packed installment to the Parse Galaxy series.
This book was a good read it picked up where the last one stoped . That's the problem with some of the space opera series out ,one book will stop in the middle of a battle and the next you're on a different planet. This one flowed right into the next book like I never put the book down . Plenty of action and excitement.
The books in this series are like potato chips (in a good way): you can't have just one. :D It's been a while since I binged a whole series of books, and I thoroughly enjoy the adventures of the - extended - Moneymaker crew. Bonus points for bringing Damian back for this one! More, please?
Continued series that seems to get better with each book. Although it is a romance sci-fi the romance takes second place to the story about power grabbing tyrants and the struggle against them.
The story remains interesting and the characters just inscrutable enough to be really interesting. I look forward to where the next book takes this series.
