We’re told that we don’t want to meet our childhood heroes, but when Hazel finds her savior, she can swear fate brought them together. The more she gets to know him, the more she realizes their story is far beyond what she could have ever imagined. It’s a shame they never quite synced up . . . but how many times can fate bring two people together before giving up?
“I was on the verge of losing my life at summer camp, and he was my prince on a white horse. Even so, we’d never met . . . not until now. Sometimes I wonder if there was someone against us, or maybe we were wrong for each other. After all, no matter how hard we try to deny it, we’ve always been closer to each other than we could have ever imagined.”
It’s been years since Hazel almost lost her life on a summer camp, but got saved by her “prince on a white horse”… and she didn’t imagine she will finally meet him. But there he is, charming and so easily to fall in love with. But things are complicated, for both of them… and seems like fate likes to bring them together just to tease them, not letting the two be happy.
I was intrigued with “The spectator” from the cover and the blurb, it seemed like something I will surely enjoy… and I did, but not 100%, sadly. I liked Hazel’s character, her drive and how she was holding up despite what life put in her way. Blake is a good guy and he was there for her in many hard times, their scenes together were so nice… but close to the end I couldn’t really understand him and got mad at his actions.
Overall if you’re looking for a slow paced romance story, with an unexpected twist close to the end, this might be perfect for you.
