Heart Wreck

Camellia

After being stood up, I didn’t plan on meeting anyone during my Hawaii vacation. But on the first night, I pour my heart out to a mysterious man, and he’s all about helping me heal. Over the course of our vacation, we form a connection through our late-night confessions, which soon turns physical because we both seem to want it. Before I know it, I’m head over heels for Cillian, but he’s holding back, unable to get over the one who got away.

I believe he’s worth fighting for, and that’s exactly what I’m going to do.

Cillian

Camellia is broken—possibly even more than me—but I enjoy listening to her because it also helps me. After spending several days together, it never crossed my mind that I would crave a physical relationship, but she’s impossible to resist. With each passing moment, I grasp the potential consequences of revealing the true reason I’m in Hawaii.

My lack of self-control has turned this trip into a messy romantic entanglement. I’m falling for her, but we can’t have a future.

*** Heart Wreck is a steamy contemporary romance. TW: The mention of a car wreck, death, physical and emotional abuse, thoughts of suicide. Recommended for 18+. ***

Contemporary romance/new adult author of A Brush With Fame, Edge of Eighteen, and Heart Wreck.

Habitual latte drinker. It’s all about the creamer...

Collector of Betsey Johnson jewelry.

Works with students and is a soccer mom, literally.

Enjoys beta male stories and low angst, preferring outside conflicts rather than arguments on every page. I want to fall in love with the couple and see them earn their happily ever after.

I enjoyed reading this book by Melinda Hazen (a new to me author that reminds me a bit of the style of Colleen Hoover). The main characters are easy to like but sometimes I did want to scream, "No!, Don't make that choice!" ( Just like I felt when reading, Colleen Hoovers, Reminders of Him.) Oh well, good stories often come from poor choices! You will enjoy the story and the characters. I liked the twists and turns too! Hmmm, I think I'll have to read another of her books and I would love to see this story go on.....I think there is more to tell!

Heart Wreck is a fusion of contemporary romance and a mystery. I appreciate that the author goes into detailed explanations of situations and timing, making them work in an understandable way. That’s one of her strengths. Read it for yourself and you’ll discover that Cillian is definitely the book boyfriend you will remember.

Love is such a difficult road to travel. Two broken hearts try to mend as strangers in Hawaii. But one is more open to the idea in the end compared to the other due to his struggles and still suffering heart.

It was a beautiful and fleeted love story between two broken people. Which you never see in a story.. I simply loved it.

I really enjoyed reading this book! Melinda Hazen’s detail describing situations throughout the book was perfect, without it being overdone. I’ll admit i was wondering if the characters would be relatable with their unusual names, but i fell in love with Camellia and Cillian. I sort of anticipated the first plot twist, but didn’t see the second one coming. I always gauge a good book if i find myself thinking about it during my non reading time, and sure enough i found myself wondering where this storyline was going. I recommend this book.

I really enjoyed this book. While I was reading I kept having questions pop up in my head so I wanted to keep reading to answer those questions. The way the book ended was amazing. I like how everything came together in the end. I would recommend this book and I would read another book by this author.

What a read, I started this book yesterday and also finished it yesterday. It was that good. I only wish it had a epilogue with them maybe years later. This is the first book I have read by Melinda Hazen and it will not be the last.

Loved the story. The only thing I didn’t like is the retched sister got off the hook, but I understand it wasn’t really about her.

This was a good read. I had my suspicions early on about Cillian and his intentions so parts of it seemed a little predictable. But I enjoyed the characters and the storyline.

Side note: I received a copy of this book in exchange for a honest review

Plotting, secrets and a new romance all set in a beautiful Hawaiian resort. What more could you want. This is not your normal love story there are twists and turns, heartbreak and forgiveness as well as a couple psychos. I really enjoyed that it was not your typically predictable romance novel.
