***A MUST-READ FOR ANYONE WHO HAS EVER HAD A SISTER, OR WONDERED WHAT SECRETS LIE BENEATH FAMILY BONDS***

When Samantha, Beth, Jody and Delaney decide to submit their DNA samples to an online ancestry service, they think it will be a fun exploration into their family's heritage. Instead, a shocking truth is uncovered - one of the sisters has a different father. Just as they grapple to understand this perceived betrayal, the half-sister is brutally murdered. A family member seems the most likely suspect, but which one is to blame?
As they struggle to unravel a tangled web of secrets and lies, they quickly realize that every sister is hiding something. What length will each sister take to protect her secret? In this psychological thriller, the mystery deepens as a family realizes they are living with a killer among them, a killer who is going to strike again. And again.
In a whirlwind of intrigue and suspense, sisters must race to uncover the truth as the danger increases and the stakes become higher. With twists at every turn and a pulse-pounding pace, Sisters Lie will keep you guessing until the very last page. In a family bound by secrets, the truth can be deadly.

As sisters reveal different aspects of their lives, share the most intimate details of their families, and reveal all of their inner thoughts and feelings, only one thing can be certain. Sisters lie.

I am happy to be reviewing another book by local author, Shary Cary Lavoie. This book had me guessing the whole way through! I kept flipping back and forth through the book looking for clues I might have missed. I was eager to finish this to see how it ended. And I love that she had a family tree at the beginning, very helpful.

stayed up too late- and worth it!

Sister’s Lies by Shary Caya Lavoie was a recommendation I picked up from a Facebook book group, and I’m so glad I did—though fair warning, it’s one of those books that will absolutely keep you up far later than planned. It opens with a mystery, quickly escalates into murder, and then pulls you deep into the lives, secrets, and complicated dynamics of its characters. With so many layers unfolding, I couldn’t put it down until I knew who did it. This was my first read by this author, and it definitely won’t be my last.

This novel was truly a roller coaster ride from the beginning all the way to the end. Despite some inconsistencies within the story details, it kept me intrigued and captivated until the end. My interest did not falter even with the several misspellings throughout the book (maybe that’s a personal pet peeve, but true). Overall, definitely recommend this one.

SLOW MOVING

I don't normally give bad book reviews and I hope 3 stars isn't considered TOO bad. I was just looking for a book to take my mind off things and this was NOT it. There are many characters and I did not end up liking any of them. The best thing I found was the SHORT chapters, I'm just hoping my next read is better.

Happened upon this book recommendation in a reading group on Facebook and it did not disappoint.

Four sisters have their world turned upside down when their DNA test results show they might not know the whole truth about their relationships. When one is violently murdered in her home, family secrets are threatened to be revealed and one family member can’t let that happen.

I loved how Sisters Lie kept me guessing throughout the entire story. It felt a bit like an Agatha Christie novel in that my suspicions kept shifting until the end. Clever plot and interesting family secrets and dynamics!

I really enjoyed this book! it was well written. The author did a great job of allowing us to really get to know the sisters and their families. I was wrong about who the killer was. This was a fast read for me, I really stayed engaged and was surprised at the end. I think Delaney's character changed and grew the most, and what Derek does in the end was almost redeeming but still fell short in making up for being a crappy husband and father.
